Enjoy this week’s The Drop.

PlayStation 3

SSX — Redefining the franchise, SSX pits riders against both mountain and man. Players explore the story of a team who seek to be the first to descend the faces of the most treacherous mountain ranges on the planet. The team travels the world to face the worst that Mother Nature can throw at them. From the peaks of the Himalayas, where the air is so thin that riders have to descend through the death zone at breakneck speeds to keep from blacking out, to the solid ice ranges of Antarctica, where a sunlit line is the only survival option when temperatures drop 50 degrees centigrade in the shade. And the mountain isn’t the only danger players will face. In SSX the first goal is to survive. The second, in true SSX fashion, is to look good doing it.

Binary Domain — Binary Domain puts players in the middle of a fast paced and intense battle for humanity in a robot-invaded 2080 Tokyo. Fighting through the derelict lower levels of the city, players control an international peace-keeping squad that soon starts to question their surroundings and the choices they make. Are the robots becoming more human, or are humans becoming more like machines?

Hyperdimension Neptunia Mk-II — Hyperdimension Neptunia mk2 is a sequel to Hyperdimension Neptunia and contains brand new main characters, as well as returning characters, and the gameplay has been updated so as to remove the random encounter feature. New maps and a brand new world feature as well, and the cut scenes have been upgraded to 3D from the old 2D visual novel style cut scenes.

Mortal Kombat: Komplete Edition — After centuries of Mortal Kombat, Emperor Shao Kahn has finally defeated Raiden and his allies. Faced with extinction, Raiden has one last chance to save Earthrealm. To undo the Emperor’s victory, he must strike Shao Kahn where he is vulnerable…the Past. The pumped-up Komplete Edition of this blockbuster fighter includes a variety of add-on packs, including four additional characters and 15 bonus character skins.

Medieval Moves: Deadmund’s Quest (Full PS3 Digital / PS Move Support) — From the same team that brought you Sports Champions, one of the best selling Move titles, Medieval Moves: Deadmund’s Quest is a fantasy, action adventure game that is played with PlayStation Move that uses a unique set of motion control functionality, allowing players to seamlessly transition between throwing projectiles, sword fighting and archery for an intuitive and immersive gameplay experience.

Killzone 3: Multiplayer — In the wake of Visari’s death, Helghan has devolved into a world of political scheming, rapid infighting, and murder. Now, the two most powerful men on Helghan are fighting for complete and utter dominance while Visari’s vision of Helghan is in jeopardy. With limited supplies and no re-enforcements, the ISA must now fight not to win a war, but to survive a lost one.

StormThis is a puzzle game in which players grow seeds into trees by guiding them through nature-themed levels. Players can use wind, lightning, and rain to transport seeds past obstacles while reaching various checkpoints.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution (Full PS3 Digital) — To save his life, the fundamental choice of whether or not to become augmented with cybernetics has been removed from Adam Jensen’s life. Driven by the conviction of never having a choice taken from him again and using his newfound power, his need for answers will unravel the truth behind a conspiracy rooted in the foundation of the world around him as it incites a new revolution.

Primal — Primal lies in a dark, fantastical realm between the mortal world and the afterlife, where an eternal struggle between order and chaos rages. Abaddon (Chaos) has tired of his personal conflict with Arella (Order) and is breaking the rules. It’s up to you, as half-demon Jennifer Tate, to team up with Scree the Living Gargoyle to bring Abaddon down and set things right again. Boasting state-of-the-art motion captured animation, advanced AI routines, and integrated cutscenes, Primal offers players four diverse realms and four unique demon forms to toy with. The ability to switch between Screen and Jen on the fly should prove invaluable for solving puzzles and the dynamic loading technology keeps disc access to a minimum.

  • Here is a new trailer for Primal, to get people a feel of the game. ENJOY:

  • If they release Final Fantasy XII as a PS2 classic AND I could play it on my Vita…WELL MY HEAD WOULD EXPLODE.

    Any agreers?

  • Two things I would love to see next week…
    1. Pangya: Fantasy Golf (Downloadable PSP Game)
    2. Gravity Rush (Vita Demo)

  • Are we going to see a price drop or sale for Ratchet and Clank Quest for Booty? I severely want the game.

  • where’s MLB 12 The Show’s demo?

  • cool :)

  • You guys don’t know how smart it is to release the multiplayer component to a game and then have people pay to unlock it. That’s a VERY smart idea.

Remember the Subway Beta for Uncharted 3? I was so addicted to it. But all goods thing must come to end, with Uncharted 3 coming out, they had to put the servers down in place of the Full retail game. I bought it two days afterwords to continue ranking up. Having them play it as much as they want but with a level cap.

  • I really want a Final Fantasy for PS2 Classics!!!!! I know that square enix have a project for the FFX but you can lunch the FF XII as a Classic !!!!

  • How about putting Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and other games that were actually PS2 Classics instead of games nobody played?

  • Too bad the only PS2 game we get is one I don’t want. :(

  • What about Price Drops ????

  • It’s the full Killzone 3 MP not a demo. The vita was released last week and you have nothing but demos. What kind of follow up support is that? I expected more…I fell kind of cheated. I thought it was suppose to better then my android. My android showed you up this week. I got the vita because I love dedicated portables but this is horrible. No after launch support…almost as bad the PSP’s support. The psp slowly died after launch. Didn’t you learn a lesson?

  • add me to the list of people begging for Legend of Dragoon

I will buy it day 1 off PSN

  • ………..I find it amazing that puppets can still be excited about garbage games.i’ll say that we’ll not be purchasing any PS2 “classic” games.we were not allowed to play them before, but we can pay $9.99 for games we already own? Gamestop has every PS2 game for under $1.so unless sony will send me a 3 that has PS2 components or Dark Cloud, the Norath series,or FF 10&12 digital for $1,we’ll pass.i’m thinking that sony needs a lot of fresh blood in the veins.it is becoming weaker and weaker with half-baked ideas and full-priced incomplete games.just unleash the next system and call it a day.full digital games are great.and way overpriced.in most cases it is best for the individual to travel because they get much better prices.and no hassle.so instead of listening to momma’s boys,trust-fund babies and children who don’t know games from giblets, try focussing on what matters.we need less third-grade apps and more grown-up content.Oh!……and no one (except puppets) will pay to subscribe to a weak music service, either.especially not when there are legitimate free sources.another example of misplaced ingenuity.focus,focus.

  • I wonder if SSX will have DLC Content that would be sweet.

  • Woah, I haven’t thought of Primal in years.

Sony, you MUST add Playstation 2 classic support to the Vita. Bundle it together with the PS1 support and surprise people. It allows us to want to spend more money. I will buy Primal if I can play it on my Vita.

  • No demo for MLB 12 The Show?? PS3 or Vita version?

  • I love reading comments of how people are hating these Drops.
…or ranting about games not yet released…etc etc etc…
…or how they’re hating Sony, and not wanting to give any more money…

The moment they get their wish (even if down the line)…it’s “OMG YES”…and so on and so forth.
…granted, not -every-one will be that way…but most.

Nice to see Primal on here; though I already have the PS2 disk, and beat it like…3x now.
…Hudson Leick (aka Calisto)’s voice for the win.

What I’d like to see…is a patch that’ll let us have our backwards compatibility like the original fat 3’s had. I never learned the reason why the Slims discontinued it…

Or…as an incentive to by games I already still own via disk…
…some sort of trophy system implemented. They tacked on trophies for the original Alice game when Alice: Madness Returns was out; granted, you couldn’t get the original w/out either buying via the PSN or brand new…but regardless…it had trophies, regardless of how simple.

  • And despite my above statement of “wanted games”…I would like to see Legend of Dragoon…in fact, it’s been high-time a sequel made an appearance. One of the most innovative RPGs I’ve ever played – great story, battle system, and decent effects for its time.

  • *looks* :( no psone classic support for vita yet? Hopefully soon. . . my wallet is ready to buy basically all the old squaresoft games :) (is it bad I bought a vita to play all the older games but I haven’t bought a “vita” game yet?)

  • This weeks drop = money in my pocket. (Time to spend a little $ with Apple in the App Store) In my opinion the reason why they dropped PS2 compatibility was in hopes of selling over priced digital versions. That in theory is a good idea, However; nobody wants to waste money on the garbage they call PS2 Classics. Until they release a decent PS2 game, I’ll pass!!!!

  • To those asking for Dead Island… avoid it, it’s terrible. It’s nothing but fetch quests and escort missions. Generally the worst part of any game that has either. On topic, most of the games that I think of when I think of PS2 Classics are either re-released or planned to be re-released in HD. The Metal Gear, God of War, and Silent Hill games. I would like to see the fatal frame games pop up. also, I would like to see the original Tony Hawk games show up in the PS1 Classics section. Also, I want the Gravity Daze/Rush/whatever it’s called this week demo too.

  • DOES ANYONE KNOW IF OR WHEN THERES GOING TO BE A MLB 12 THE SHOW DEMO RELEASED?

  • No demo for MLB 12 The Show??

  • Other than Primal this week pretty much blows. I do like digital versions of PS3 games but the prices have to be competitive with their physical counterparts. Asking $60.00 for the latest installment of Motor Storm seems rather excessive. I agree with many others in saying the UK has been getting much better digital releases than we are in the US. Maybe some day we can get an Out Run release here but I wont be holding my breath.

Considering 90% of the PSN users would probably buy Kingdom Hearts in any capacity someone in SCEA isn’t paying much attention to their user base. Though that seems to be SOP for Sony in general or there would be some flexibility in usable memory formats for their devices. That reason alone means I wont buy or support the Vita platform.

  • Waiting for Gamestop to open at 10AM…SSX time. YES !!!!!!!!!

  • They should bring back Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas for PS2 classics. I would like that and im sure others would too :D

  • @113: why not just get a ps2 so you can play your ps2 disc based games. thats what alot of people are doing.

As for the rest the drops seem like nothing special this week. Where’s FFX and FFx-2, kingdom hearts 1 and 2 that were rumored to be coming to SEN? I would buy those in a heartbeat. Ah well i got a $50 psn card right now and am getting add-ons for ffxiii-2, dead island and most likely going to buy gta4. if i have anything left over grab another sam and max chapter addon too

  • People are blaming the people on the PS Blog for not releasing certain games? That’s weird since I thought it was other people who decide to release those. Also, I saw in a comment that people want more PS3 Digital copies but it is not Sony who decides who gets those. The game companies will decide on whether or not to release a digital copy if they stop selling the disc versions. Games like Skyrim are still extremely popular so why would they release it in a country that is still buying thousands of copies each month? Although I hope that they do release games like Legend of Dragoon and Rune Factory: Tides of Destiny on the PS Store some time in the near future.

Also, love the “Open to everyone, but don’t be a jerk” to the right of the comment box.

  • Final Fantasy 10 has been announced as getting an HD release, not just a digital release. People need to get paid for upgrading the graphics. I still look forward to the day that FFX-2 and FFXII get announced. Also, I doubt that FFXIII will ever get a Digital Copy. (20 GB or larger probably, I think it’s closer to 30) I don’t really care for half of the things being released on the PS Store these last 4-5 weeks. Then again, maybe it’s because March has so many large releases so Sony wants us to save money.

  • The reason PS3s nowadays can’t play PS2 games on them is because they’d have to emulate them instead of playing them using special hardware like the old PS3s. The games you see on the PS Store have already been modified to play like a PS3 game. This is also what makes it hard to turn it into a PS Vita compatible title. Make sure to read online before asking questions. If Sony kept the hardware necessary to play it then you’d be paying 350-400 USD instead of the 250 USD like now. I would rather they keep making HD updates since I play on an HDTV and honestly, in my opinion, I think that PS2 games look horrible on an HDTV(like Wii games).

  • @93

Killzone might get remastered for PS3 or perhaps remade according to an article I read to why it was pulled from PSN. I would take a remake of it as the game is pretty terrible in terms of control but if they used the KZ3 engine and it had online support and you could play the campaign online and offline it would be sweet.

  • I still waiting for Sony to release better games on PSN for the PS2 Classics section. I love to see the following games added:

    The Getaway 1/2
    Onimusha Warlords
    Onimusha 2
    Onimusha 3
    Def Jam Vendetta
    Tekken 4
    Soul Calibur 2
    Soul Calibur 3
    Virtua Fighter 4
    TimeSplitters 1/2/3

  • So where is the Final Fantasy XIII-2 Sazh DLC? According to Square-Enix’s site It’s supposed to be available today!!

  • Come on! Let’s get that Gravity Rush demo up already! I’m sick of going to Best Buy to play it :P

Also, super ‘cited for SSX tonight! :D

  • Legend of Dragoon…

  • UPDATE THE STORE ALREADY!! ..please. =)

  • OK. Now where’s Darkstalkers 3?

  • BRING ON NINJA GAIDEN 3 DEMO!!!

  • Are there plans for PS2 classics to be available on the Vita? Its one main reason I wanted a Vita, I really hope you guys at Sony will be working on it after PS1 classics are on.

  • So, it seems that one of your ‘Drops’ bounced…

What happened to Storm, since no one is saying anything?

  • All I want to see right now is an announcement from Sony with a projected date of the PS Vita being able to play all my downloaded PS1 classics.

And Dragoon. That’d be sweet too.

  • i has a ps3 so no need for retro gaming.but i would however love to have sony tell us when we can finaly get our gotham city impostors dlc that has been approved for almost 3 days hhhhmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

  • What about releasing PS1-import Megaman 5?… it was available several months ago in the Japanese PSN.
    Any news about? D:

  • I can’t wait to get SSX, i love the demo :D
