Pick Up MLB 12 The Show on PS3 and PS Vita, Save $20

Show Fans – We’re proud to make claim that MLB The Show on PS3 is the highest-rated sports game on the market for the past 4 years. MLB12_PS3_Vita[1]

One of the most important goals for us each year is to listen to our consumers and try our best to address their concerns. Over the past several weeks, we’ve heard you loud and clear – consumers who purchase both should be rewarded with a discount – and we agree. Starting on March 6th, we’ll be offering a $20 instant discount, for anyone who purchases both MLB 12 The Show on PS3 and on PS Vita, together during the same transaction at checkout. What this means is that while our standalone PS3 product retails for $59.99 and our standalone PS Vita product retails for $39.99, if you purchase both together at the same time, you’ll get them for a combined price of $79.99.

Owning both versions of the game allows you to experience the same realism of MLB 12 The Show wherever you go. On either your PS3 or Vita, you can transfer your Season, Franchise, or Road to the Show mode save files between your PS3 and PS Vita anywhere at any time through the PlayStation Network. We want as many of our consumers as possible to have that experience.

Visit your favorite retailer for more details on this limited-time offer.

  • Add me at hcmdlive (for PS vita user especially)

  • Everyone has been begging for this deal. Imagine my surprise when I come on the blog and actually see the buy the PS3 and Vita versions for $80 instead of $100. I am so excited and happy. Thank you Sony! Thank you makers of MLB The Show Series! I also saw the trophy list for MLB 12 the Show and they are so much better than last year 2011 The Show. 2011 were to hard and required more luck than actual skill. But 2012 is a good balance of trophies. I can’t wait for next week to pick both copies up; hopefully my local Gamestop knows about this deal.

  • I miss playing with my beloved NYY. i skipped last years version. I am looking forward to jumping back on the saddle with C.C. Sabathia and hitting with my boy Cano. Let’s GO YANKEES, LET’S GOOO!!!

  • im sorry but i aint into sports game. can you do this for ninja gaiden sigma? i already have it for the ps3 and im planning to get it for the vita soon. grear concept idea though

  • I hope GameStop is one of the retailers, I already have both Vita and PS3 versions preordered.

  • @52 I think that would be up to the developers. Do both games share the same trophy list? Do they use cross play? I hope this does set a new standard bundle philosophy though and while I don’t usually buy baseball games the Move support cross play support and now a bundle discount I feel obligated to buy this just to support the great ideas. Plus I hear MLB the show is the best baseball game too.

  • Just sell both of them for $80.
    A much more coherent deal.

  • I’ll be picking this up for sure. Atlanta ain’t Braver.

  • That seems nice enough, but my baseball money is best spent on MLB Extra Innings.

  • @55: What if you don’t want both? And if you buy both… it’s $80 so…

I do think a digital alternative for those people who want it would be great, but I can imagine it being hard to do both options easily.

  • @30 LOL Portal 2 did it so make up some more stories you fanboy. No reason sony could not do this other than the fact they are GREEDIER than Valve is.

Look, I do not have Obama funny money to spend at will like you. Sorry for being a full time student.

  • @59, Portal 2 packaged the 3-4 year old PC version for free, not even close to the same thing. These are 2 new releases on 2 seperate platforms, think before posting lol.

  • @60 I think he is referring to the fact that you got both the PS3 and Steam version of Portal 2, which is a valid point.

On another note, people should keep in mind is that The Show has been coming out on the PS3 and PSP for several years. Some people would choose to buy both because they enjoy having the ability to play however, whenever. The big thing that has changed this year is they added a killer new feature to the game, which is the ability to share save files.

So, what some people are saying is “You added a new feature to your game, now I want it for free!” If you are someone that is going to take advantage of the cross save feature, the price of this bundle is very reasonable. If the price is out of your comfort zone, buy the one you prefer and move on. Just because you don’t see the value or something is out of your price range, does not make a company greedy.

  • @61

Exactly, and who would stop me (or ANYONE -hint: retailers) to resell this FREE game like new for $40?

  • Great move by Sony. I already had both preordered, but now I’m saving $20. Good show (pun intended).

  • I assume both copies must be picked up simultaneously to get the $20 off?

If so, I guess I won’t be able to take advantage, as I will be getting a PS Vita at a later date and my PS3 copy on release day.

  • You got a definite purchase for both from me. I was planning on buying them anyways but now the de4al is even sweeter. Thank you Sony.

  • ThreeLeggedFreak

This is fantastic and should be standard.

I honestly thought you guys would do a 50% off voucher for the vita game instead of the retail version, but this is good too.

  • I’ll save more than that and not buy any of them lol, i have other games to buy more awesome, :D

  • Not a good idea to rely on retailers, best buy, several other outlets here looked at me like i had 4 heads when i asked about this.

  • @70 you can say that about any product, Captain obvious what’s your point? If your spending money on other things then your not saving it then either.

  • I thinking about getting both games for both systems equal great loving the psvita

  • I think that Sony has made a sweet move. Many of my friend said that if they were to do this that they will defiantly get both. Vary good day in PS Baseball Land!!!

  • This is what I expected months ago, hell ever since we knew about cross play this is what I expected. Could the deal be better? Of course but gotta also be a bit realistic. I imagine this is sorta last minute, especially how the game is due to be released in just a few days but hopefully as time goes on the deals will get better. Don’t know if I’ll jump on board, I have a bunch of games already to play and even after two years I still have a lot I haven’t done with MLB10. Not to mention I don’t like the idea of losing online access after only a year… I might wait until MLB13…

  • I can’t wait to pick up my Vita and PS3 bundle. Going to Opening Day in Miami. Perfect time for The Show.

    GO MARLINS!!!

  • You didnt have to use this sales model. That being said, thankyou for doing so and please do this for every title that applys to this circumstance. This is just good biz…

To anyone who thinks they should have to pay once…please share some of what your smoking…please??? ),:

Any vita pepole feel free to add meh!

  • Thank you so much for listening to us! Hopefully you can think of other creative ways to bundle these products and save us some of our hard earned cash. That’s why the franchise is the best selling. It consistently listens to its consumers and makes changes accordingly. Thanks again!

  • Amazon is not going to have this deal.
    .

  • Thats a great deal. And too the winers complaining that they should get the vita version for free. Hello! 2 full versions of the game is Sony a charity? I think not.

  • Amazon is replying to customers that they will not be partaking of the deal.

  • So where is the list of specific retailers that will be honoring this deal? I hope ToysRus is doing it.

  • Sony, you have GOT TO MAKE DEALS LIKE THIS AVAILABLE TO PSN STORE CUSTOMERS!!!!!!!!

I decided to go with downloads-only with my new PS Vita, only to find that retailers are having 3-for-2 deals, 50% off a second game, and now this MLB discout, but ONLY TO PEOPLE WHO BUY THE PHYSICAL MEDIA!!!!!

I bought a 32GB Vita card, and was planning in the future to buy a larger memory card when they come out. I didn’t like carrying UMD’s around, and I don’t want to be swapping cartridges. I am trying to embrace Sony’s digital future, but Sony seems to be trying to kill it.

COME ON, SONY, DON’T MAKE ME REGRET SPENDING MY MONEY ON PLANNING TO BE A PSN CUSTOMER! You are starting to ruin my excitement about my Vita purchase…

  • I’m happy to hear it! I was going to buy the PS3 version and the Vita version as a digital copy, but I updated my Amazon order to include both! Thank you Sony for getting this right! Hopefully this trend continues!

  • Im just curious to know, what will happen to the people who preordered both versions and already paid in full! Will they get a $20 cashback, psn code or store credit? Im one of those people, and i preordered @ a local Game Stop! I would like to know who can clear this up for me, because the clerk at the store knows nothing about this, and i would be very dissapointed if i get “penalized” for preordering! Thank You!

  • Got real excited about this but then cannot find anywhere in Canada that is offering this. Even http://www.ebgames.ca doesn’t offer this deal.

I was all set to get both, not I suppose I won’t be. Is this deal just for the states? It would be nice if they would say that in their releases so I don’t waste my time looking all over and actually waiting in a queue to talk to the http://www.ebgames.ca website to ask them when they are going to offer this.

  • ahah or there’s even this great site that charges a penny more for the honour of getting this pack!

    https://www.videogamesplus.ca/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=mlb+12

  • I just purchased the ps3 and psvita versions of the game @ walmart and nobody there knew anything about the promotion for buying both together. What are my options at this point???

    Thanks

  • I was going out later today and buy it at walmart but reading this I might see if gamestop has the deal.

  • Wanted to advise anyone in Canada if you want both the PS3 and Vita games at the discounted price.

BestBuy has the offer…..you buy both and get a $20.00 discount.

  • @88 I’m in the same exact boat. I think we’re screwed unless Sony ponies up with a copy of the sales receipt. Walmart won’t do anything even though there website show the deal. Local stores refuse to even investigate, just saying it’s an online only special when we all know it is not. I a bit bummed about it actually.

  • BestBuy Canada has it, but as another person stated…Online only (at least they think that in the store).

So…..order online and click the pick up in store….order it in the morning and it normally is ready for pick up that afternoon.

  • I agree with: dizeeStL

I think it’s completely BOGUS that people get charged for both copies even if the second is half price or whatever…I don’t see the value in paying an extra 20 bucks for both copies. I could see getting charged like 5-10 dollars just to cover materials and distribution costs…but otherwise c’mon people….If you wouldn’t be so willing to just throw your money away then they wouldn’t do junk like this. Some of us don’t have money to waste on having more than one copy of the same damn game! Like the other guy said…valve did it…..buy ps3 retail version and download vita version for free would be ideal to me….
