Assassin’s Creed III’s First Trailer

+ Posted by Gabriel Graziani // Community Developer, Ubisoft

Hey there PlayStation Assassins!

After several years of work, by hundreds of some of the most talented developers on the planet, we are extraordinarily pleased to show you the very first official trailer for Assassin’s Creed III. Today, we’d like to offer a glimpse of the rich backdrop provided by the American Revolution, as well as sneaking in some details about our Native American protagonist: Connor.

Keep your eyes peeled for a certain historic figure you may recognize (trust me, he’ll be hard to miss)… and ponder his role both in a story of the foundation of a nation and the ceaseless conflict between the Templars and Assassins.

As previously announced, Assassin’s Creed III ships for PS3 on October 30, 2012.

@TuttiCicero

Assassin’s Creed 1 was in the Middle East. Assassin’s Creed 2 and Brotherhood (which is a continuation of 2) are in Europe. And Assassin’s Creed Revelation (the final chapter of 2) was back and forth. It makes sense for them to go to a new country/continent for a brand NEW character/ancestor.

@Everyone

Quit complaining that it’s in America. No one complained that it was in the Middle East or Europe.

Looks nice but I was hoping the next entry of the series would be related to the Mayan or Japanese cultures. Hopefully the series will not stop until we get to play in all the places shown at the end of AC1.

@48

How could you not know that we would be going to the United States if you had played the other games. These are Desmond’s Ancestors his bloodline….. Desmond lives in New York. At some point his bloodline comes to the U.S.
What is the problem with Revolutionary America? I don’t get the hate.

This game is going to be awesome. I’m just wondering if its going to be as epic as Brotherhood. Revelations was still great, but it just didn’t compare to Brotherhood.

Ok, now I’m mad. I told one of my PSN friends earlier today that Ubi might be baiting anti-American sentiment by the location of AC3. But comments like @48 are just stupid. You think America is the source of corruption? Any corruption we’ve had in our history was imported by all your relatives emigrating here and bringing their old world genocide here. It’s taking us hundreds of years to beat that ugliness out of our DNA.

for those complaining that the American Revolution doesn’t make sense, you need to brush up on your history. its not about modern American corruption. its about long standing conspiracy theories that have tied the Freemasons (to which George Washington belonged) to the original Templars. The Freemasons used many Templar symbols when they surfaced, and they still exist today. While the games are fictionalized, they all contain real people and real events that are all tied to the real Templars, Assassins (Hashshashins), and Freemasons. To not do the story this way would be against everything real history has had to offer in terms of conspiracy theories. I’d argue there is no other option.

@ Untouchable_God

if you skipped Revelations and Brotherhood then you are going to be very lost during Desmond’s story. VERY lost. Have fun trying to figure it out.

and @ all the whining babies.
wtf is wrong with you all!? you won’t play it because of the SETTING!?!?!? are you all REALLY that daft?

*sigh* we NEED a game that makes fun of America, because most of it’s inhabitants are idiotic.

I’m not a big fan of the American Revolution but I do like that it’s going in a new and different direction. Though I really wished the main character wasn’t in the same suit/costume he’s been in for the last 4 games (wow there’s been 4 of them already?). I don’t think the costume matches period, apart from that I’m semi-excited, something I haven’t been for a AC game in a while.
