Yakuza: Dead Souls Out Tomorrow – Fight for Zombie Rights

Whenever you see a zombie in a TV show, video game, or movie (or real life!), you need to kill it. All of the zombies must die! The unforgiving slaughter of zombies goes back to the 1930s and is stronger than ever 80 years later. What will it take to end the violence?

A group of activists in Yakuza: Dead Souls is trying to do just that. You can learn more, and even donate to their cause, in the game. Regardless of how you feel about zombie rights, it’s worth a stop to admire their creative protest signs, with slogans like “Zombies are people too!” and “What if your child were a zombie?!”

This is just one of the weirdly funny ways that zombies and real life are linked in Yakuza: Dead Souls. The game is full of clever moments, so get out there and explore Kamurocho to find all that is waiting to be discovered! And if you’re not fighting for zombie rights, you can get all the crazy zombie-killing action you’re craving, with a distinct Yakuza twist.

You can pre-order the game to get a special bonus; trust me – you don’t want to miss out on the assets offered! Yakuza: Dead Souls hits shelves tomorrow in North America, and is exclusive to the PS3.

  • Any chance of the pre-order offers being released as dlc?

    • If you pre-order the game, you’ll be sure to get it. Trust me, running around Kamurocho as Majima in a pirate suit is totes worth it.

  • Looks interesting. This will not be downloadable?

  • Hopefully this will be released as DLC later on. I did not want to support GameStop, so I did not pre-order there.

  • Can’t wait to get my hands on this localized version of the game. Thanks SEGA !

  • So what. Dead Rising 2 with a Japanese Mob? Yeah I think i’ll pass on this one. L4D was the only worthwhile zombie game with Dead Island a…sorta..close second. Can we just give it a rest?

    • The Yakuza series is more than just this game, and this is the only one with zombies. This game may not be for you, and that’s fine, but it’s unfair to dismiss the entire series because this game has zombies in it.

  • I’ve been playing the japanese demo over and over. Cannot wait.

  • I need to finish Yakuza 4 still :(

Bring the PSP ones to the Vita.

  • Generally speaking the idea and promotion of pre-orders annoys me to no end. I will pick this up without a pre-order, and be alright with that. Can the gaming industry please stop pimping pre-orders?

  • loving the yakuza series!
    hope this means yakuza 4
will be cheaper so i can
    finally buy it! :D

  • Yup yup!! Can’t wait to get my hands on my copy tomorrow! Love the signs! XD I’m not really a big time zombie game person but anything by Sega and the Yakuza Team is an instant buy for me. Yes I’m a fanboy and I don’t care. Love ya, Sega!

  • I pre-ordered this game and I know it comes out tomorrow, but Amazon has it in stock now. Never mind I’ll have it tomorrow.

  • Playing through Yakuza 4 right now, but I’m still picking this up tomorrow! Looking forward to it :D.

  • I’d like to express my gratitude to you, Kellie, on SEGA’s behalf for supporting such unique Japanese franchises as the Ryuu ga Gotoku series.

    • You are welcome! This was a fun game to work on, for sure. We love bringing games to fans who really enjoy them.

  • I received my copy TODAY from Amazon!

  • It’s quite funny how how Twilight ruined vampire movies and anything vampire. Yet games with zombies can survive anything. It outlasts everything, including call of duty. I can’t wait to see what this game play looks like because I’m tired of call of duty (stuck in a room) zombies and the rest of the game such as multiplayer. It just sucks.

  • Yakuza 4 let me down big time…

it has nothing to compare to GTA IV.

    • I hope you’ll give Yakuza: Dead Souls a try! It’s a bit different than the other Yakuza games, but it does still have that Yakuza feel.

  • This game should be arriving at my house in the next couple of days. I love the Yakuza series (I view it as a spiritual successor to the Shenmue series. Oh, how I miss you Dreamcast). Normally I dislike zombies, but I will deal with them to play another Yakuza game. Thank you Sega for your consistent dedication to excellence. (Also for being the only publisher I have seen on the PS Blog that responds to each person who takes the time to post something) I love you Sega!

  • Looks like a great game. Now Sega, any updates on VALKYRIA CHRONICLES 3??? Could you please translate and release the game ASAP? I don’t mind if it’s a vita, PS3 or a downloadable PSP (for PSP/Vita) title, I (and so many others) desperately need this game. Last but not least, we don’t really need an english voiceover. A perfectly translated in-game texts and japanese voice dialogues would be perfect. Please release this game?? Pretty pretty please???

  • I’m really looking forward to this game, but I have just one qualm about it. I’ve been looking at some gameplay footage off of youtube and noticed that there are certain “Special” zombies that you’ll ecounter throughout the game. My qualm is that these certain monsters look & seem almost Identical 2 the “Special” infected in the Left 4 Dead series from Valve, and I just want 2 know why? Does anybody else notice this or is it just me?
