PlayStation Store Update

Grace Chen's Avatar + Posted by Grace Chen on Mar 13, 2012 // Sr. Director, PlayStation Store

Hi Everyone -

Spring Fever has officially arrived today with the PSN-wide release of Journey! The makers of flOw and Flower deliver their third PSN game to critical acclaim. Now you can experience this powerful story along with a memorable co-op gameplay feature you have to play to believe. This week’s Spring Fever franchise sale also kicks off with discounts on tons of Call of Duty map packs, games and more. Kick off Spring Fever, download Journey, and look forward to Rayman 3 and Closure, coming soon as part of the event!

In addition to Journey, you may want to check out other new PSN releases like Warp and Shoot Many Robots. Warp is a puzzle-based stealth action game where you play as Zero, an adorable alien trapped in a human testing facility. Shoot Many Robots is a 4-player co-op, action shooter. Customize your characters with anything from fairy wings, to flamethrowers as you find a variety of robots and, well, shoot them. Both games are available today, so check them out!

The hits on PS Vita keep on coming with two new titles available for download today: Reality Fighters and Ridge Racer. Reality Fighters is the Augmented Reality beat ‘em up where you put yourself into the game and go toe-to-toe against opponents of varied looks and styles. Having Mr. Miyagi in your corner is a nice bonus too! Ridge Racer is the debut of this venerable racing franchise on PS Vita. With free additional content to download starting today, beautifully crisp racing visuals, and that token drifting race style; Ridge Racer delivers that racing experience that no PS Vita owner should be without.

Uncharted 3 players are also feeling the love today too with the all new Co-op Shade Survival Mode. The Co-op Shade Survival mode adds an exciting new game type to the multiplayer. Play with up to two friends as you tackle wave after wave of some of the smartest, toughest and sneakiest enemies in the game. This content is all part of Fortune Hunters’ Club which includes tons of DLC for one low price.

Lastly, some great deals hit PlayStation Plus subscribers today. In addition to getting more out of the Spring Fever sale of the week on Call of Duty content, subscribers also snag big discounts on new PS3 Full Game release Bioshock 2, as well as some great new free avatars to give your PSN profile more personality.

There’s much more to today’s update so make sure you check out all the details below. Let us know your thoughts in the comments below or join the discussion on the PlayStation Community forums in the Official PlayStation Store Update thread.

Hey Sid, Jeff and PS Blog crew. The EU PS Blog had a post today about discounted PSP games. I was wondering if anything like that is coming to NA, there is a great demand for lowered PSP prices on the PSN store. Any info you guys have would be greatly appreciated. If theres no info, at least take note that this is something the NA PSN store needs. Keep up the good work guys.

Just getting the avatars though.

Looking forward to the wave of sales for Final Fantasy that you guys mentioned. Not interested in Tom Clancy.

And yeah, I regret getting the U3 FHC. The community is too hardcore for me. I don’t enjoy playing MP anymore. Never buying season pass ever again. At the time, I thought it was limited edition, that’s why I bought it. I asked, no one responded.

Well hello Morgan, is it possible for us psn plus to request that we could have a third ps3 activated at once, it is so frustrating to deactivate a ps3 in my room so I can play in the living room because my kids are playing something on their PS3. Thanks

So, it’s been well over a month now since we got a list of PSP games we could use on the Vita… In the “coming weeks” more were supposed to be added but we haven’t really seen anything yet outside of apparently a few games no one cares about being added without any announcement. There’s a lot of games we know are playable on the PSV via a PS3 transfer or were before certain updates blocked them from being seen by the “Content Manager” or because apparently games were updated and the store ID changed also making them not show up like Ys: I&II Chronicles but when are we going to get a big update with this? I know Sony wants people to first and foremost buy PSV games but it’s getting a little annoying….. >_<

Early update is good.

Nothing says “Spring” like shooting people in the head in a bunch of COD games. Wouldn’t Flower have been a bit more appropriate?

I’m glad to see Phineas and Ferb got an actual PS+ discount. Last weeks blog post had it listed at $33.

It’s nice to see Grandia get a price drop, it’s good, I still have my PS1 disc version though. The only Grandia game I don’t own is Xtreme, but I’m not holding my breath.

@4

Its not really nickel and diming if you bought the fortune hunters club deal. I’ve been getting every single piece of dlc for Uncharted 3 (which has been a pretty big amount) so far and I think I spent more on Uncharted 2 dlc and it was much less content. It’s a fantastic deal and I don’t regret it one bit.

@Morgan Haro

I have to agree with other posters. Mine has been a bit fritzy since the 4.10 update aswell (PS3 Slim 320GB model).

Also, I better see you on Journey. I want to start doing more play throughs now that it’s officially out for everyone. What a phenomenal game.

    I’ll dig into it some on my end, but don’t know how long an adjustment might be. I played through Journey with them on the whole time and it sounded awesome.

    And yeah I’m looking forward to my fourth and fifth Journey playthrough!
