I see that online play and the such seems to have been restored but I still cannot access the playstation store. When I login I get a message saying an error has occurred. What’s even stranger is that if you go to the featured downloads that show up before you sign into the store (i.e. Tom Clancys future soldier beta or shank 2) you CAN access and download those games! Also noticed that the future soldier beta does not work. Shows no other players online at all.

On an unrelated note I’ve heard rumors of Sony making a pay to play network to help generate revinue? Is this cost aside from ps+? If so I hope there will be more incentive otherwise you may end up loosing money. I haven’t been a ps+ member long but have really enjoyed the benifits. But aside from that your free online play is a major factor of why I don’t own an Xbox. Maybe just charge a lil more for extra ps+ features? Ps++? Lol

GEEZ THERE U PEOPLE GO AGAIN COMPLAINING ABOUT SOMETHING THAT HAD TOO BE DONE, SO WAT MATT DIDNT TELL US WAT THE MAINTENANCE WAS FOR, LIKE I SAID IT WAS MOST LIKELY FOR MULTIPLE ISSUES THAT HAD TO BE WORKED OUT OF THE SERVERS AND TOO KEEP SECURITY UP….SO WAT IF U COULDNT WATCH NETFLIX ON IT THATS WHY U CAN ALSO WATCH IT ON A COMPUTER OR LAPTOP (DUH!!!) NOT JUST ON UR PS3, JUST BE THANKFUL SONY IS DOIN WAT THEY CAN WHEN THEY CAN I FOR ONE AINT UPSET GAVE ME SOME TIME TOO CATCH UP ON SOME OF MY OTHER GAMES TIL IT WAS COMPLETE……AND TO EVERYONE WHO WAS THANKFUL MATT AND THEM NEED OUR SUPPORT LIKE A TRUE DIE HARD SONY FAN SHOULD GIVE THEM NOT THESE NAY-SAYERS GOIN ABOUT COMPLAINING ABOUT A SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE THAT HAD TOO HAPPEN, GET OFF UR HIGH HORSE AND BE GREATFUL CUZ AT LEAST ONLINE GAMING WITH PSN IS FREE UNLIKE MICROSOFT WITH THEIR XBOX LIVE CRAP WHERE U HAVE TOO PAY FOR IT RATHER THAN GET IT FREE…….

i could not agree more with 281, they should start a new and fire all those incompetent losers and money hungry marons. ill tell you this much sony products are great but it serves them no good when there total dou che towards customer, i got a vita and im about to get rid of it, cause till this date nothing if fixed like always broken promises, i refuse to get anything sony after i got the vita, poor pi ss service, dam updates in which they dont tell me what its for, and im a PLUS member, so pretty much all im paying for is to get screwed and be held in the dark by a money hungry company thats does not know the principals of doing good business with consumers. i just hope this company falls and fails and at this rate ill be making the transition to another console manufacture, one that knows how to update and keep there players informed and not in the dark….

After all they are brand new servers after all, they need a break every so often lol…

Nah wish we knew, but we don’t.. and never will know, this new guy got hired to say the same old crap..
I don’t know anymore than that sorry, but i will find out when i know you will know…
bs everyone at sony says the same stuff everytime..

Sony is like the us government we need to get rid of them all and start over…
Build a better one from the ground up, instead of the people who think they know what is best for us…

I thought that you wouldn’t be able to sign into playstation network at all. I was able to sign in on my ps3, but unable to go to playstation home, playstation store, and unable to sign into this website. What was the maintenance for?

The way this company operates is abysmal. We as “consumers” are not here to worship the cult of sony out of blind devotion or act as the companies bottomless bank machine. This service IS paid for by us the gamers as part of the products & services we pay for. Therefore we expect it to operate in an efficient manner. This is clearly not happening. I thought I and others would’ve made it abundantly clear by now but it must be stated again. Continue to P**S off your customers and very soon you’ll have none left. All you have to do is look at the financial statements over the past few years and the losses in tHe BILLIONS stand out. Performace for your customers and your financial gain are irrevocably linked. But its painfully clear to all this company is mismanaged and will not correct itself in time. Best we can hope for now is at least the videogame division, whatever it calls itself this week, will be acquired by another large firm and operated properly for a change.

this is the most pathetic company i have dealt with, 13+ hours of downtime and not tell anyone why, goes to show you how much they care about the customer. to Matthew Harper // Sr. Manager, PlayStation Digital Platforms, unless your here to actually post things that matter and to actually tell us what these updates are for you might as well quit giving this for an answer ( While I don’t have more details to share at this time regarding the downtime, I will certainly work to include more info in future posts.) is about as good as dirt. why am i a plus member if i wont even get what are updates for. would you Mr Matthew like me to tell you here eat this and not know what it is? did not think so…once again you keep shiiting on your loyal customers, maybe you should learn something from microsoft xbox 360 and apple, one has a great console which supports the players and is NEVER DOWN for 13 hours and apple has awesome customer service….
