Extremely excited. I know there's always the concern about adding mp to what is, essentially a sp game, but I like the way Santa Monica is implementing it. Gonna be one of my most anticipated 2013 games. And I'm still blown away at how the SM guys work the PS3 code and make such stunning visuals.

@mastorofpuppetz: You know, it's a good idea to do @*name* rather than comment number, since as you can see if you look again, my comment is now #131.
And no, your opinions of Uncharted 3 do not "kill my arguments", as they are a mixture of my opinion of the game and actual facts about the quality of the SP campaign. IT WAS HORRIBLY GLITCHY COMPARED TO THE FIRST TWO. There is no denying that. Can it be completely attributed to the amount of time spent on the MP? No. But it can be considered, and that means there's a problem. I didn't bring up UC2 because the MP for that was clearly tacked on, and the SP story did not suffer. The same cannot be said for UC3. And sales != quality. Of course the sequels sold more. They had MP. That doesn't mean the SP campaign came out unscathed.
If anyone needs to get a clue, it's you. I was just responding to your claims. You're the one trash-talking everyone who's opinion doesn't match your own. You're the one being childish. We're just voicing our extreme dissatisfaction with this decision. That is our right, and you have no right to tell us otherwise.

I'm not saying all MP make story-driven games bad, but I have clearly shown you it does more harm than good most of the time. It's a big risk, and I don't doubt Santa Monica has the best intentions for it, it actually looks pretty awesome (emphasis on "Looks"), but at the same time I know I can't expect a Story mode that will be on the same level with any of the main GOW titles, more like a filler, a side-dish if you will, almost a spin-off. And everybody who looks forward and buys a GOW game expects more than that, so you're looking to disappoint a lot people who may or not give a harpie's a$s about MP. I may remain skeptical and my expectations probably won't change unless Santa Monica confirms they had a whole separate team working on the MP while their usual workforce was tasked with delivering a story mode as epic as the last one.

Twisted Metal focused on MP and failed miserably trying to resurrect the franchise. Not a bad game by any means, but people where expecting something bigger for the campaign and they didn't care about what made the franchise what it was: the characters and their stories. Another big fail thanks to MP. Not to mention the MP never worked properly another big risk you get for depending on online structures.

Bioshock 2 was worse than the first one. The second one has MP. More coincidence? I doubt it. Bioshock Infinite, I think, won't have MP. Hmmm.

True, Uncharted hasn't really suffered (as much) though I would argue part 3 was not as good as 2 and the story felt pretty much disjointed and uninspired, and the major efforts were definitely made to revamp the MP part, and there's no denying this. Now if we keep looking for examples I'm sure we'll find some more story-driven games that got worse sequels when they got MP. Most of them went bad. Resistance 2 focused mainly on MP and the SP suffered because of it because they aimed to "callofdutizied" the franchise. Big fail, and Resistance 2 is regarded as the worst of the series by its fans, so much that part 3 was a step back in MP offerings to concentrate more on the SP and the story, co-op and what made Resistance 1 great: the campaign. Sadly, it was too late, the damage had be done, and Resistance already had the stigma of a bad and uninspired COD wannabe so very few people were interested in the third.

"Red Dead, GTA, Assassins Creed, Dead Space, Uncharted, Metal Gear, Little big planet, etc…… all have MP and SP never suffers, get a clue"I won't condemn GOW: A just yet, but if you really look at your examples you'll find out of those games only Uncharted and MGS are really story-driven games. All games made by Rockstar and Assassin's Creed have lackluster stories (I see your avatar, and I'm sorry but this is not open for debate, open world games leave good storytelling aside). Now LBP is not "MP" , the whole game is built so up to 4 players can enjoy any stage.

Now, Dead Space 2 was a worse game than the first one and that's a fact. The second game did very little to build on the first one, it was basically copy-paste and a shooter mostly with a lame story to boot. Mass Effect 3 did suffer because the time spent on the MP part, just ask all the people disappointed with the ending and mad at other stuff that didn't get proper conclusion, should we look at its MP as the main culprit for these games, maybe not the main one, maybe, but it's no coincidence those sequels were treated worse than the prior games when they got MP.

MP in GOW is so cheesy. I hope this doesn't shorten the SP campaign. MP does not fit in GOW period. If they want to add more replay value to the game than add SP DLC.

Not every freaking game needs MP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
