  • No demo for Datura = NO BUY

Would anyone recommend any of the pixel junk games. I was thinking about shooter but i am not sure if it would be a good investment.

  • Yes Datura !!! Going download, once I get off work. Other then that its an ok update. Don’t really like PixelJunk games, so the sale on them are usless to me. But its a great deal for people who never got those games and enjoy them.

  • Also one other question Morgan:

When I select items to download in background and then select turn off system it asks me if I want turn turn off system automatically after background download. I select yes and it will download everything and usually install it. For some reason the PS1 titles have stopped installing. So when I turn the system on later I have to manually install them each one at a time. The download bubble also stays there now after installing game which I then have to delete.

I’m wondering if you have heard or seen anything about this or if anybody else on the blog has. Please let me know thanks.

  • @19 HAHAHAHAHA I FEEEEEEEEEEL YOU WEEELL SAID

GIVE HM A JOB SONYHAHA TOOK THE WORDS RITE OUTTTAH EVERYONES MOUTH!!!!!!

  • IM SORRY @119

  • I’m really frustrated with Sony, I bought a Vita on launch day. They promised us PSone Classic support and they promised us a load of titles for the Vita. We have seen very few new titles besides the launch window and no PSone classic support. Wouldn’t it make real sense to the PSone games available for people to play, while we wait on developers to develop titles?

  • This is sad, im seriously thinking on selling my psvita. no new games, no ps1 support, i feel betrayed by sony

  • Man, the Vita whiner guys are annoying.

  • Well third times not a charm. Two weeks in a row real good Store Updates this week crap. Cmon Sony give us some real good demo’s of games we wanna play. I’d like a demo of StarHawks single player game.

  • By the way patience in a virtue. Vita hasn’t even been out for 6 months and everyone is acting like it’s been out for 10 years. I would understand if it was out for a couple of years and nothing, but people want everything right now or they throw a freaking hissy fit and everybody has to read about it.

Just give it time, or take it back to the store and get your money back. Either way, spare us the whining.

  • Datura is also a Tori Amos song

  • @150, have you read the comments? Not everyone feels this way. Please unman your caps-lock, haha.

  • UC2 DLC FREE! great move to revive its multiplayer a little bit <33333

  • For you fanboy’s that complain to us that we shouldn’t complain about the vita and deal with it is so stupid. That’s like saying I go buy a new car but its delivered with no rims and tires on it. I have the car its new and shinny and I own it but I can’t enjoy it or break it in cause I have no dam* tires to go anywhere with it. Then I call the dealer and say HEY where is the rims and tires I can’t enjoy the car without the rims and tires and all I get said to me is… I’m sorry but I have no info at this time but stay tuned when I hear something you’ll hear from me first. Months go by and that pretty new car is sitting and gathering DUST. Money wasted for a car I can’t drive or break in. That is a vita!

  • These are the facts.

PSvita launch, 25 games day one. 10 of the 25 titles scored above 80% on gamerankings. PS Vita store fully operational at launch. PSN points cards worked on the psvita store.

3ds launch, 16 games day one. Only on of 16 titles scored above 80% on gamerankings. No eshop at launch, it would be well over 2 months before the eshop finally arrived. 3ds prepaid cards nowhere to be found at the launch of the eshop, many areas of the country didn’t see 3ds prepaid cards till 2012.

Not even a close call here. 3ds launch blew major chunks. But, nothing but complaints from the whine brigade about the psvita. Who are these guys, a bunch of wet behind the ear noobs who are buying a system for the first time.

I’ve got a huge backlog of psp titles to go through, not to mention vita titles, not to mention all the vids I’ve downloaded, not to mention all the music I’ve downloaded thru music unlimited, not to mention the time I spend on vita versions of apps like facebook and twitter. Haven’t even set up Skype yet.

Nothing on the vita?! Go sell crazy someplace else, we’re all stocked up here.

  • @155, now that’s a realistic POV. Blakseed will def. not be the last sensible poster in this blog. I know it’s annoying & though people do have the right to whine/gloat/etc., I hope it will lessen with these kinds of positive comments.

  • Thanks for the great PJ deals. Spent $8 and got 5 awesome games.

NFS the Run however, is criminally overpriced. It’s been under $20 new at Best Buy for over 3 months now.
To be honest it’s not even worth that.
$39.99 is laughable. It was $39.99 two weeks after launch.

    Also, your game description lies.
You do NOT race 3000 miles. Not even close.
The game can be finished in 2-3 hours. Be careful, someone will have you for false advertising there.

One more thing. Last thing I promise.
The problems people seemed to have with the PJ Eden demo/unlock only highlight another issue that we gamers have asked be rectified-

Please give us a search function on our Download History. Scrolling down 2,200 items IS NOT FUN.

  • They should’ve put at least 8 gigs built in the vita. Hell my ipod was $195.00 with 8 gigs built in and online cloud storage of 5 gigs for FREE as well but I never use it lol. Anyways my point is put built in memory in vita to I mean cause that price of 250 isn’t really 250 for vita. You aren’t doing anything on that vita till you buy memory for it. 4 gigs is a joke it won’t do crap so the next step up is 8 gigs and that’s like what 30 bucks. So to compare it with my ipod its a difference of 85 bucks cheaper on ipod. The ipod records video in 720P HD and the vita has dulled out color VGA quality cameras. Please at least through a 8 gig card in a box with a wifi vita. Heck the vita still doesn’t have a youtube app the most requested app and its ignored? I thought the vita was super powerful if so why no youtube app still?

  • @160, another fair comment. Nj!

@159, is the Vita functional? Then your analogy doesn’t work. The Vita does everything it was advertised to do. Your “car” is gathering dust because it has no gas… or content. If you look at massi’s post (160), the content is there but it won’t appeal to everybody. Either you don’t enjoy the current batch of apps & titles or you’ve got no funds to buy them. But seriously, you are raging to an 11 on a platform released in Feb… come on man.

  • But I can’t complain right now cause bestbuy has a awesome offer for a vita right now. You buy a vita at bestbuy this week and you get a choice of a free vita game either uncharted or unit 13 and you get a free 3 months of ps plus as well with a 3g vita or wifi vita purchase. So in all you would really be paying about $192.00 for a wifi vita after those savings but you still need a memory stick for the vita.

  • Lets’ continue on the vita virtues. The vita has had day and date digital releases of retail games since launch with a number of the titles offering discounts for the digital version. An industry first. Fact is, my local best buy doesn’t even carry blazblue continuum shift or disgaea 3, but I’ve got no problem finding them on the psvita store. You can dl a copy to two different vitas if they’re on the same account.

The apps I use, such as facebook, live tweet and music unlimited all work beautifully. They were to easy to set up, easy to use. Music unlimited’s vita app is definitely superior to the ps3 version. You can dl songs to the memory card for offline use.

I have a library of 18 psp titles in digital format, all but one works on the vita. And that one, I got free and don’t care about. The rest not only work on the vita, but look better courtesy of DAT oled screen, but load faster and perform better. Can you say camera control right stick mapping for MGS Peace Walker.

    Stuff the haters!

  • @163, I won’t discuss any ipod/ipad/iphone/Android device vs. Vita/3ds/dsi/Psp with you. As others have mentioned to you before you can’t compare them effectively; these devices have different ecosystems. But you are leaning so hard on the Apple i devices that I have to wonder why you feel the need to convince people in a SONY BLOG.

It’s like a single Dem. attending a Rep. BBQ just to debate (or vice versa) for FUN. Nobody does that. Can you guess why?

  • @165, yeah. Target was giving Unit 13 for free w/ a Vita purchase last week.

  • since the starhawk 1-month free ps+ is being looked into, when we get it will it be able to add onto an subscription or will it just not come for those that have a current 1year subscription.

  • I just like my ipod but want a vita back. If I was some selling apple troll I wouldn’t own 2 ps3’s and spent well over 1,500 dollars on psn since 2007 when I first went to ps3 from 360 and never looked back. I just express my opinions from time to time on here and I have a right to that. hell I advertised a sell on the vita for bestbuy now didn’t I? I’m no troll as you all say I just tell it like I see it. Its opinions to get the word out what other devices I have can do and vita can’t so they can improve it better. I like the vita but its limited in a lot of stuff right now. But I may buy a vita with that bestbuy deal going. That’s hard to pass up when the game unit 13 I’d get is 40 bucks. A free game like that is awesome. I played the demo the short time I owned a vita before I returned it back in march and loved unit 13.

  • I only hope that Sony is working on a TON of Vita games at the moment so that we get an influx of new games for it before the year ends. Otherwise I’m probably gonna let go of my Vita around the Holiday season.

  • Why don’t you guys release Disc games on PSN as well just like in the Vita? I have a credit on PSN and would of bought StarHawk without even thinking about it if it was a download. Not saying that i’m too lazy to walk over to Best Buy or Gamestop for it but I really like the fact that you have the choice when you buy a Vita title that’s all. As of now i’ll probably just wait for a discounted StarHawk, in all reality my game backlog is quite big so this may not be a bad thing after all. Lol

  • I guess I can look at this way. I already own a ipod so if I get the vita to I will then have the best of both worlds lmao. I can hd video record my vita gameplay for youtube from my ipod while I play the vita. Can’t beat that LOL.

  • I hear ya angibri2000. I have 670 bucks in my pocket and could go buy a psn card right now and get starhawk to but man they didn’t put it on the store and I already complained about this on the starhawk post. They are aware of my anger on that LMAO. I’m a digital guy and so when they release disc only I get pissed to. I live near polson Montana and our local walmart never has nothing for ps3 games. Bestbuy for me is 60 to 70 miles north or south from us. We are way out in the mountains to any major town so digital works for me better you know. It just makes me mad cause this local walmart here in my town didn’t even know what starhawk was when I called to see if they had it. Its pathetic here lmao.

  • Sony could’ve stomped all over the 3ds with one simple little initiative. Use industry standard SD cards. Without a doubt, their single biggest mistake and the single biggest barrier to entry for new buyers. $250 for a vita is chump change, this system is well worth more. State of the art for handheld gaming, but when you start asking $100 for a little itty bitty hunk of silicon to store stuff on, you piss people off.

Well, too late now for the sd cards. So, plan two. Up capacity on the mem cards, 32 gigs is nowhere near big enough and bring prices down and this sucker will get entrenched with real gamers. I know so many people chomping at the bit, but they can’t get over paying that much for a 32 gig card and they all want the 32 gig card if not 64 or 128. I know people who are ready to dump their consoles for the vita. Turning on my ps3 is a big production number, turn on the receiver, turn on the ps3, turn on the plasma. My vita, hell, I rarely turn it off, its always in sleep mode, ready to rock and roll.

  • Hey massimodo dude you have a very good point there. I know you and I feuded in the pass but man that was a point you made that I never looked at. The money saved by playing a vita more than my ps3 and huge HD tv would be huge on the electric bill lol. Thanks for bringing that to mind! Great point there man.

  • Oops past not pass lol. Typo

  • Massimodo, I don’t know if any of your posts about “Vita whiners” was about me, as it was general, but I would like for you to point out if any of my complaints were unwarranted (again, you could have been talking about somebody else). I love the Vita. I try to sell people on it all the time, because I think it’s a genuinely great device. I know the value. I’ve been around. I’ve bought consoles before. I know of a post-release drought. However, we shouldn’t be comparing things like the 3DS vs. the Vita. Nintendo has been behind the times in many facets. Sony has done things pertaining to digital downloads long before Nintendo (day and date releases for PSP Go), they’ve had a huge PSN presence on PS3 (far more than Nintendo with WiiWare), etc. This is why my expectations for the Vita are higher. I think that is rightful. I have a lot of positive things to say about the Vita, but in a PS Store update where again the Vita’s content is almost a wasteland, there is no place for positive things.

  • (continued) You mentioned something about how some are treating the console like it was 10 years old rather than what it is – about 6 months old. I would argue that the actual age of the device is exactly why we are upset. If it was 10 years old, we would understand the barrenness of it; however, at 6 months in, we should be seeing more.

  • I hope I didn’t come off as hostile, by the way. I didn’t mean to, because you did make some good points.

  • Speed Demon, I’m ready bury the hatchet if you are, but things need to be kept real. The battery management of the psvita is stellar in sleep mode. Posters have reported having their psvitas asleep for two weeks or more with barely any change in the charge. My 3ds is most certainly dead within 2 days if left in sleep mode.

The vita has issues. It also has virtues. My mother used to say, you can take a horse to water, but you can’t make it drink. That’s the way it is with the vita and third parties. You give these stubborn donkeys great hardware, easy to develop on, and they still go, we’re not sure, blah, blah, blah. What’s sony supposed to do, put a gun to their heads?

  • They dont give a …. about vita. I just wanna play ps1 games on my vita. Damn.

  • Vanwinkle, game development is SLOWWWWWWW!!!!! How long have diablo fans been waiting for Diablo 3. Try 12 years. Yeah, diablo 2 realeased in 2000.

I don’t see Sony ignoring the psvita because of what goes down in a blog. What’s the last psp game sony put out. Offhand, I don’t know. I do know that sony hasn’t been doing any psp development for a while, which means that all their resource development for handheld games is on the vita. Nintendo, meanwhile, continues to support the ds with software including the new pokemon game to the chagrin of many a 3ds owner.

There’s only so much sony can do. You’ve got a big reveal in a couple of days with Soul Sacrifice, which will undoubtedly find its way to NA shores. The psp was far worse in its early stages. I got so tired of playing ridge racer and lumines waiting for something decent to come out, that I sold it and rebought a year later when LocoRoco came out. Much of the psp library came very late in its life cycle.

The 3ds is the main competition for the vita, they’re fair game in any comparison.

  • I demand more PS Vita games!!!! Well I want more games, I have not played with my vita in 2 or 3 weeks :(

  • Here goes nothing. Just saw this on gamespot.com Sony what’s really good?

Sony will release a new Crystal White PlayStation Vita console in Japan next month. Unveiled by Sony Japan, the new console will go on sale on June 28 and will be priced at ¥29,980 ($375) for the Wi-Fi/3G model, and ¥24,980 ($313) for the Wi-Fi-only model.

  • I’ve tried downloading NFSTR 3 times and always stops at 801 mb. Any suggestion?

  • when does avengers pinball hit the store?

  • @massimodo
You made solid points with available facts but….You failed to mention a few critical points.
The 3DS is capable of playing ALL non-3DS games.
The e-shop: Classic games are remade with 3D effects, and while that is a matter of preference, that’s support nonetheless. And there is variety from various systems of the past.
The PS Vita is only capable of some PSP games, not all and then PsOne & Mini support are practically absent.

There still isn’t any mention for select few of PSP games not listed in the official “Compatibility list” which requires a Ps3. One game is Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles. It works but you need a Ps3 to transfer it because it’s not in the Vita store. Nothing is wrong with the game. I 100% completed it in all modes and collected everything. What’s not compatible? There is a market for these games. And please, I beg of you and many others, enough with the “It’s only been X amount of months, etc. etc. etc.” Exactly how long is the standard wait until features that SHOULD have originally been available from launch appear? I regret buying the Vita. At least I can still play My old DS games from launch on my 3DS…and old games. I love Sony, but I’m sad.

  • I failed to mention one more thing:
Inflating the PsVita Store with endless scrolling of DLC (ii.e. Dynasty Warriors) is extremely annoying. Can’t all of a single games content be grouped into a sub menu – perhaps when you’re on that games’ page in the store? Trying to make the store appear to have a large selection when in reality it’s full of $5 dollar characters that should have been in the game in the first place is absolutely upsetting, to say the least. To hell with organization I guess. :(

  • I know im a bit late to this, but i love giving my opinion about this since i am a paying costumer.

Anyway this PixelJunk bundle is great. i plan on buying the ones i dont have so this was great for this update. Other than that absolutely nothing. nothing for the ps3 at least for me, and nothing on psp/vita. Again i say this time and time again. There is no excuse why we cant get at least something. If nothing is available for release on the Vita, common sense would tell you to release a psp title. You’ve had what 5 years to get psp titles on the PSN i doubt they take that long to fix up. This is the main reason why i think they dont allow some games on their network. Take Square Enix, they have no trouble with their ps1 classic, or Dissidia games, but for some reason Crisis Core, and Kingdom Hearts have yet to see the PSN. Why? all the other excuses have failed them.

All im saying is as an owner of a Vita like with the psp im displease by how you have been treating us. these psn updates have never once catered to us, PS+ content never includes vita let alone psp titles (i dont consider ps1/mini since they can be played on a ps3 as well so they cant count as psp content)

  • xkuno, you can play ds games on your 3ds. What other non-3ds games are you talking about. And if you have a DS, you’re better off with that for DS games. The screens are bigger and no fuzzy text and way better battery life.

Classic games with a gimmicky 3d novelty effect at inflated prices. No thanks. When’s the last time nintendo had a sale on any eshop titles? How about never? I picked up all sorts of psp titles on sale via psn.

Yeah, the whole psp compatibility thing is FUBAR. But, the psp emulator is gold, it works and your psp games are that much better for it on the vita. DS games on the 3ds is a downgrade, tolerable but far from optimal. And don’t even get me started on actually trying to find some out of print ds carts. How much was radiant historia going for prior to the re-issue. Kirby’s canvas curse is $60 on amazon, a first party nintendo title. Thanks nintendo, for making your games so easily available.

I regret buying the 3ds and it wasn’t for the ambassador games I got, this sucker would’ve been out the door months ago. If I have to choose one over the other, the 3ds is gone in a heartbeat.

  • 3DS games can be considered a new format since they cannot be played on any previous DS iterations. Non-3DS games was a reference to standard DS games. My comparison was that of 3DS being compatible abeit not that high quality in playing old DS games (but they all work is the point) and that Vita’s backward compatibility is broken with PSP games.

PSP emulator on the Vita is very good.Dracula X Chronicles looked better than it did on my old PSP. The Ambassador games you received is a goldmine – an initiative by Nintendo treating early adopters. Even if those games aren’t available in the e-shop to later owners, that’s still something to appreciate. What do we get at Sony? A selection of 2 games from 4 PSP and 5 Ps3 at the expense of potentially having your credit card stolen, games that most people owned already, and one of the PSP games not being compatible on the Vita (Killzone Liberation) – from the network attack last year.

I’d take a gimmicky classic game with 3D effects over some PSP games still priced at $30+. Can’t argue rarity- it’s a digital download! But that’s preference, of course. Both systems have caveats, but until the amazing potential of the Vita is unlocked, the 3DS will receive more attention.
