PlayStation Store Update

Grace Chen's Avatar + Posted by Grace Chen on May 22, 2012 // Sr. Director, PlayStation Store

Hi Everyone -
There’s much to talk about in this week’s PlayStation Store update, including new PS3 Full Game downloads, an amazing new PS Vita title that takes advantage of the system’s AR (Augmented Reality) capabilities, brand-new PSN games and the return of some fan-favorite PlayStation classics.

We’re happy to join the Sorcery celebration this week with the title being available to download on the PlayStation Store. In this PS3 exclusive, take control of a young sorcerer’s apprentice and master the arcane arts to fight back the foul creatures that inhabit this magical realm. Sorcery puts the power in the players’ hands with PlayStation Move by allowing you to conjure and command powerful magic as you brave the dark world of the Faerie Kingdoms. Check out all of the great coverage for Sorcery if you crave more info, then head to the PlayStation Store to download it today.

In other PS3 Full Game news, fighting game aficionados will be happy to see Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition available on the PlayStation Store. This upgraded version of the initial SFIV release features new characters, new environments, and a few additions to the online experience that make for a more complete package. If you never picked it up on disc, you can now download a copy from the PlayStation Store.

PS Vita gamers will want to check out Table Top Tanks: an all-new explosive Augmented Reality game. Using the device’s rear camera, this game builds the battlefield based on where you’re pointing your Vita (preferably on a table top). Control nimble yet deadly tanks through a variety of single player challenges, or join three of your friends in multiplayer matches across a number of game types.

Fans of the classic show Doctor Who will be thrilled to see Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock arriving today. In Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock, players take on the role of the Doctor and River Song as they travel across space and time in an effort to save Earth by journeying to the Eternity Clock, a planet that is a record of everything that has (or will ever happen) in all of creation.

For fans of the classics, there’s plenty of ground to tread here, including SEGA’s hefty dose of nostalgic releases like Alex Kidd Miracle World, Super Hang-On, and The Revenge of Shinobi. Check out the full list of SEGA titles arriving today in the details section. More classics including the PS One Classic Alone in The Dark: The New Nightmare, as well as PS2 Classics like Syphon Filter: The Omega Strain and Need for Speed: Most Wanted are dropping today as well (please note that Alone in the Dark PS one Classic is only playable on PS3.

The PSN-exclusive masterpiece Journey now has a demo available to download. If you haven’t taken the dive on this instant classic, head to the PlayStation Store to see what you’ve been missing. To commemorate the release of this demo, we’re also having a sale on thatgamecompany’s other hits flOw and Flower, along with other special content from thatgamecompany like themes, avatars, soundtracks and more. The sale is on for all of PSN, but PlayStation Plus members get an additional discount

In other PlayStation Plus news, in addition to the aforementioned discounts, you’ll also find the hit racing title ModNation Racers now sporting a generous Plus-only price of $15, so if you haven’t purchased your membership yet then now is a great time!

Keep a look out for other great content on the PlayStation Store this week including new Tales from Space: Mutant Blobs Attack avatars, the Reality Fighters Ghostbusters Add-On, and more. I’m afraid this title did not come in as planned. I think from here on out, since the PS3 Full Games can be tough to get a secure date, I will omit the incoming Full Game Trials on the PS Plus post and just foucs on the locked in Plus content. The post does state that content may change, but I know that’s not a big make-good.

Anyone on the blog team can you please answer me to why I can NEVER post comments on these blogs from my main psn plus account slick _ t ? I have to always space my account name apart on here or the comment never will post on here. Why is that?

If I put slick _ t together instead of spaced apart the comment never will post on here. Its weird but anyways why am I blocked from posting comments on here off my main account? My plus account? Makes no sense but I can post just fine off any other account that is just standard accounts. I’d love to just be able to comment off my main account on here. Anyways great update guys!

btw, if you play a ps+ full game trial and get some of the trophies, do you have to buy the digital copy to unlock those trophies or can you buy the disc version instead? Just curious. :)
Same with the save files, do those work across both digital and bluray versions of the same game?
Thanks!

And thanks for the free Dragon Age theme!!! Nice.

For $15 I’m all over D&D Daggerdale. I need a good…..and cheap…… isometric ARPG to get me over the depression of Blizzard no releasing Diablo 3 on PS3……yet……..
Does anyone have Daggerdale on disc? I’m curios if it’s a random loot game like Sacred 2 Fallen Angel, Champions of Norrath or Diablo, or is it a static loot game liike Dragon Age? Also, if it is a random loot game, is there online? and can you trade items and all that good stuff?

I’ll also for sure be buying Shinobi. If anyone from Sega’s listening, please release Shinobi 3 on PSN ASAP.

Holy cow, another super early update, and with a ton of content. I think I’ll finally buy Flow and Flower, since they’re both on sale. I’ll have to check out some vids of the Monster World games, but I’ve been reading around that those are really fun. And I was just wondering a while ago if everyone had forgotten about D&D: Daggerdale. Nice to see it finally released, and with a demo. I’ll definitely check that out before I drop $15 on it.

To everyone complaining about Future Soldier, if you actually go back and look at the post you’re thinking about, or try searching for it, you’ll find it was never announced that the game was going to be a Day One DD on the store. The May PS+ Preview said there would be a Full Game Trial for PS+. That’s it.

Actually, PixelJunk Monsters Deluxe is still not available for transfer from my PS3, here in North America. Wouldn’t it require a system update, either on the Vita or PS3? I do see that it’s downloadable via the Vita PSN, though, so thanks a lot Sony for finally getting around to this week-late release. A little notification would have been welcome.

Further, there needs to be more transparency about what PSP games are being made available for the Vita. There are a lot already, but there are plenty of AAA titles missing. The Vita really needs a filter for newly available PSP games, or simply to have the title included in the New Releases list.

I want to give you my money, Sony. Why are you making it so difficult?

Grace – Next week, like in years past, will you guys be publishing PS Store updates every day throughout E3?

@akibake: Try re-downloading the game on your PS3. The file on the server might have been changed since you last did so.

We’re looking into doing special Store Updates to reflect new content hitting from E3, but nothing has been finalized yet. More to come on this
