  • I’m constantly blown away by the number of immature people posting complaints that are completely uncalled for. Sony can’t deliver on every front all the time, and the blog is only an extension of SCEA. I’d be surprised if any of the feedback here even gets heard/passed on to developers unless it’s a major emergency.

If there’s not a game that you like, wait a week. If there still isn’t, get a more broad taste in games. Every single week I find myself struggling to keep up with all the content that Sony is dishing out. I still haven’t played any of the PS One Classics from when I joined Plus last year! Between retail PS3 games and everything digital across all platform, I’ve got a mountain of media ahead of me. Not sure where everyone else has been looking.

Anyway, I say keep it up Sony. I agree that the Vita needs a little more love overall, but I’m still completely happy with it as an outstanding gaming system. Once we get some more content down the road, I’m sure everyone’s feet will be in their mouths.

  • @146 That does not make any sense. Velocity has already been released in the US. Sony is not giving any reason for why some games work and some don’t. They appear to be purposely drip feeding us content.

  • StackedPancakes

Greetings, Mr. Haro. You told me Trine2 would be on sale the month of May. The PSN has listed it on sale all month, yet its price was only discounted the one week it was free for PS Plus subscribers. It has been full price since. Has this been an error all month long? Will it ever be on sale again and have it’s price actually discounted?

  • @Lov

Just an FYI the devs for the game even came out and said the game was up and ready, just needed to be updated by Sony in the Store. they were trying to release it worldwide (well at least for Europe and US) but for some reason someone at Sony decide to withhold it. So i dont see how your last part is relevant when the people who made the game said the game was ready.

All in all its not farfetched for Sony to withhold content for us they do it all the time. Especially during/close to E3. i remember when the Final Fantasy games was all ready to be uploaded, but Sony decided to release it at E3 because i guess that’s a prefect time to re-release a game?

Just saying i dont see how you can/try defense Sony when even the people who made the game are questioning as to why their game isnt up.

  • @luvtoseek This is Sony not Nintendo. The content releases between regions may not be identical, but it’s not too distant from that. They really are simply holding back releases of old content that people already payed for.

You say that from a business standpoint that it wouldn’t make any sense to withhold PSP/Minis, but it does to Sony. To them they look at it as, “Well it looks better having a constant trickle of these games coming in than to have a massive flood and then a dry spell. What they do not understand is that people are a bit more informed than that and know what they are doing, and it’s pissing us off.

  • @150, for what purpose? I can’t get around the concept that Sony would keep us from minis. I mean these are drop in/drop out experiences… why else would they, unless they don’t have the time?

  • I feel like everyone thinks that the people at the PS Blog make the rules.

  • @ rightontargt4

Assuming everyone has the same taste in games as you. I dont see why you think people should be hushed, or kept quiet when they feel like the service provided to them is not up to par. So you are happy with the service you are receiving, great, but why should only you be pleased? By you telling people not to voice their opinion you are essentially saying that every all updates are the greatest they can provide which is just plain wrong.

Granted i think I and everyone else here know not all updates is going to be for everyone, but to tell people and to continue telling them to wait is just idiotic. Do you know how long i have been waiting on psp games to be uploaded on the Psn? i would estimate at least 2-5 years. And every now and then i ask as to why X-games are out and what do i get? nothing. No reason as to why, or sometimes even topics deleted again with no information why.

All im saying is people should have every right express how they feel. i dont see how you think its right for you and everyone else to express how awesome and wonderful these updates are, when some people are unhappy.

  • @156

There’s a difference between rational requests and irrational requests. I specified the “immature” posts – e.g. “VITA SUX SONY IS GONNA GO BROKE CAUSE I DONT GET AS MUCH OF A DISCOUNT AS PS PLUS MEMBERS DO” and the like.

I’m not trying to stop people from requesting the content that they want, but there’s a respectful and courteous way to do it.

Think about it, if you were a developer who *did* indeed hear comments from this blog, would you respond more quickly to the polite ones, or the ones who were on the edge of making threats and dissing your product?

  • @156 Also – as far as the PSP games go, Sony doesn’t always have the final say in what gets uploaded. Generally that’s a choice made by the developer/publisher, and if Sony isn’t either, they have very little say in that, if any at all.

  • @152 & 153, guys perhaps you’re right. But again, that’s just one dev that spoke about with-holding/delaying a release for us US users. Yet there are what 70% or more minis that do not work on the Vita? Are they really going to trickle out these releases? Not to mention the PSP titles? Please someone electro-shock me if it’s Sony’s plan to purposely stagger-release these titles due to a lack of overall content & the reason not being how it’s an engineering/coding issue… 8?

There was a statement last week from Cuthbert (Pixel Junk Monstrs) about the delay on how the conversion process for the Vita is “long & arduous.” Sheesh…

I hope Sony can shed some light on this.

  • I’m really happy about this update since there where quite a few things for Dragons Dogma. Though it would be nice to see even more avatars. They are so simple and get released slower than dragon poop.

  • One more sugestion for PS2 Classics: Just Cause

  • Last week, you did not give the special offer promised on April 24:

    https://blog.playstation.com/2012/04/24/playstation-plus-may-preview-free-awesomenauts-trine-2-rock-of-ages-pixeljunk-4am-beta/

    Assassin’s Creed Revelations – 5/15
    Batman Arkham City – 5/15
Rayman Origins– 5/15 (special PS plus price 15$)
Need for Speed The Run – 5/15

This week, its time for “Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Future Soldier – 5/22” to not make it to PSN.

LIES AFTER LIES AND LIES WHAT SONY PUTS ON PLAYSTATION BLOG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

IF YOU DONT KNOW HOW TO MAKE A PUBLICITY, THEN DONT DO ANY!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • WHEN WILL THEIR BE FREE GAMES ,like in the past ,HAVENT SEEN NONE IN A WHILE, HOPE TO SEE SOME MORE FREEBIES COMING SOON, LIKE MAYBE A SET OF GOD OF WAR AVATARS OR THEMES , SOME NEW PSN GAMES TO GIVE ASWELL. and not counting ps plus.i dont really count that as free content when you have to keep paying just to keep it or access it.but e3 is on the way maybe sony will finally step up and give a update for we can watch the e3 sony conference comfortably on our ps3 without any lags or freezes, since videos on ps blog doesnt work.looking forward to a good summer sony!

  • ya cant u guys make Syphon Filter: The Omega Strain online again? i don’t get it hard hard can it be i wanted to get it but when i saw it had no online i decide not to,

  • @ rightontargt4

i know what you are saying, but it seems like you generalize anyone speaking ill of Sony shouldnt, even if they valid reason too. For the psp comment yes they do. And its pretty obvious they do. like the example i always give there is no reason why companies like Square Enix can give only some of their game out on the same system, like Dissidia, or classic games for their Ps1 era, but not with their recent games? ill understand if licensing was an issue, but neither of them have came up to say that, so that cant be the case.
Also if i was a Dev more than anything ill probably take the harsh comments first. those would be potential buyers, and i would do what ever it took to try and please them. All comments whether good or bad is still good because it tells me how to improve not only as a person, but as a gamer/dev. but thats just me.

    @ Luv

Still i would probably take the Dev say in it than Sony. especially when no one here has commented on it. why be so silent about it. if I, or the Devs were wrong Sony should have no problem coming out and saying it, but the choose to be silent about it, for everything in that matter.

  • I just bought the mini Ikari Warriors directly on my Vita and it’s telling me I can’t download to the system.
What is going on? Why would it sell me a game I can’t play?

  • Are there any plans to release Return to Wolfenstein as a PS2 classic?

  • @luvtoseek To respond to this,

“There was a statement last week from Cuthbert (Pixel Junk Monstrs) about the delay on how the conversion process for the Vita is “long & arduous.” Sheesh…”

Yet the developer for RCR said exactly the opposite as did the developer of Velocity pretty much. Why is that? Beats me, but somebody is full of crap.

  • I’m a little sad there still aren’t any of the Sonic 4 Episode II avatars in the U.S. PlayStation Store. I know Europe got them almost an exact month ago, and I don’t know why, but I set myself up to believe they’d be getting released here this Tuesday’s update. :(

  • So morgan you ignore my comments about wanting to know why I can’t post from my main account? What gives? You skip right past my questions and reply to someone not far under my 2 questions. Oh and for the people asking about that full game that was suppose to be on psn as a digital it wasn’t cause they couldn’t do they decided to change their minds and force you all to disc like always. The developer found out we get 2 copies of that game if we buy digital and they got greedy and selfish and so they stuck us with 1 single disc to buy instead. Sony downed the activations from 5 down to 2 cause developers whined like babies about it and they still won’t put new games on psn. What gives sony?

  • Wow! ST 4!!!

  • I was looking forward to trying out the AR Tanks, Sad to see that it’s $2 though, I was hoping it would be a freebie like all the other AR games thus far. None of those have peaked my interest enough for me to feel that spending money on a new one is justified.
Possibly either a Demo or a Freebie for Plus Members?
In either case, You guys should really start throwing out more incentives for people to buy Vita’s! the system is amazing, and I Want it to succeed!
Super excited for Resistance next week!

  • Did anyone else notice the Night of the Living Dead 40th edition lists Michael Madsen and Dennis Hopper in the cast? Are refunds given for these mistakes?

  • That’s the cast of Hell Ride.

  • PS3 and PSP Flow versions… Any PSVita compatible?

  • picked up Flow and Flower…. been playing Dragon’s Dogma since Tuesday…

nice update.. keep them coming :)

  • got sorcery yesterday but i have to say i am quite the bit disappointed about the mechanics. while it certainly doesn’t looke like a wii game – it totally feels like one. i am talking about the implementation of move. the way sorcery uses move there is just no difference to a wii game (without motionplus, mind you). there is quite a lag betweeg the movement of the controller and on-screen-animation. before move was released it was shown and told how superior it was compared to the wii-technique. it was obviously a lie.

therefore, the gameplay becoms that wellknown “wave your controller aimlessly as often as you can to beat all monsters on screen”. it is nice that you have a few options as to where you want to throw your flashes (up and down) but all in all you are just waving the controller like a clueless 4 year old.. which is exactly the wii-experience and why i sold my wii already 1 year after purchase.
the movements you have to do to cast spells or open chests or repairing things are just not sophisticated enough to make a difference to the wii.

to make a long story short: in year 6 after motioncontrolled games, motion controlled games are still not what we were promised they would be.

  • PEOPLE stop asking if Syphon Filter can play online. IT CANT. its a PS2 CLASSIC and they are EMULATED which means IT DOES NOT SUPPORT MULTIPLAYER,ONLINE, ETC.

  • Look IDK if anyone didn’t mention it but Table Top Tanks only 1.99?? Best believe I bought that I was anticipating 9.99 and was very willingly to pay that. Thanks for the low price!

  • i was wondering if you guys are planning to sell playstation merchandise on psn? i think it would be really convenient to be able to buy motorstorm , little big planet, uncharted, metal gear solid tshirts off psn.

  • @176: I read that as, “I’m terrible. Therefore the controls are terrible.” One can waggle to their hearts content even in well designed motion controlled games. That doesn’t make the game bad.

Why? Because people can do the same thing with games with regular controllers too. It’s called button mashing. That doesn’t mean the games themselves are bad or shallow, it means you’re not playing properly therefore are having a horrible experience with it. While others who are actually taking advantage of the depth in the gameplay are actually enjoying it.

  • soundandvision77

Alex Kidd in Miracle World is a total blast from the past. It was one of my first Sega Master System games along with Outrun and Wonder Boy. Even though I could probably dig out my old Master System and get it to work, this was an instant buy for me. I can’t believe I’m playing a Master System game on my PS3 and earning trophies! Hilarious.

The game works perfectly and is exactly how I remember it. They also threw in the option to play the Master System II, European and Japanese versions, which is a nice bonus. I’ll have to try those out to see how different they are.

I’m looking forward to seeing what other classics Sega releases from the Master System era. Outrun maybe???

  • Oh and now my comments won’t post huh?

  • @ Elvick_ hey stop being a Sony fan bot and stop blaming the guy like its his fault the game sucks. I believe him and know Sony rushes games and over hypes them all the time and then puts them on psn without a demo. That’s a huge clue that the game will be bad. I’m so sick of you Sony butt kissers that rant in these blogs that Sony is perfect and never does anything wrong. You people are crazy and really get on my nerves.

  • Oh and @ 180 as far as I know of gaming for over 5 years on PS3 is that I haven’t dealt with lag in my PS3 controller in games so nice try trying to defend that game over the move lag. Move controllers are overrated to. I have a move PS3 bundle that I bought well over a year ago and still to this day the move controller has sat gathering dust and never been used and probably never will get used. I may sell it off and that crappy quality camera I never use either that doesn’t film in HD just SD. This is a HD age now and Sony keeps making all the camera on their devices for their handhelds and consoles that shoot video, they make them SD quality. I mean get with the HD program already you know. Stop being a fan bot @ 180.

Instead of listing only the locked in content. Could you maybe define the list a bit different? Like say list confirmed content and tentative content. Even if it changes such as Rayman did, I’d like to see that it’s possible to get it rather than list only the confirmed content. Sorry to see people griefing people over something that is listed as “subject to change without notice”. The only thing I can see making a difference is to maybe call out that it didn’t make the publish date in the posting. That might keep a few happy(er).

  • those sega games are really overpriced, they should be priced at $3 or something like that

  • When is the new Walking Dead out? I thought for sure it’d be out today?

  • ps I agree with iTofuMan

  • Played Sorcery last night for about 4 hours and loving the game so far.

Today my wrist is a bit sore though….ha ha…

  • I am excited about ThatGameCompany stuff! I have no idea what to expect from Flow, but given how much my wife and I enjoyed Flower and the discount I am for sure picking up the bundle.

Been wanting to play Journey for a while. Money was tight when it came out so I waited, then I started playing other games, blah blah, I am excited to play a demo and see what I think. Honestly though, I am pretty sure I am going to buy it. TGC just has so much love/respect from the gaming community going for it that I doubt any of their other games are less than excellent.

I is the happy. I was so sad when I missed the PixelJunk sale (out of town :( ). These will make me a happy camper!

  • @ FFVIIAC it seems like while they said they were trying to do it month by month from what i have seen on various websites they next Episode (2) of the Walking dead game seems to be coming out some time in June. While its not that long, seeing as how we still have a week left in May maybe next week? if not then some time in June. i hope its not too long into it. the game is great, and i want to continue playing it.

  • @176 – Myx23.

Not sure why you are getting lagging…I didn’t have any in my play of Sorcery last night.

Wondering if maybe your lighting in the room you were playing in was low ?

  • @185

Overpriced? I think the bundle for $30 is over priced.

  • Overpriced Sega classics are the only real standouts. ModNation Racers items on sale is way too late.

  • @Kimchee,Sevyne,Luvtoseek
I’m pretty confident that Sony is trickling out this content on purpose. It makes zero sense that Velocity is out everywhere but only “compatible” with Vitas outside US. My guess is that the entire list of PSP games and Minis labeled “coming soon” are all ready. And it does make business sense, because they want to avoid having weeks that look like a dry spell, and they don’t want to give everyone a giant pile of PSP games and minis that they already own because they think people would buy less new games for a while. In the end, I don’t really care, because I have a lot in my backlog, but I think they are doing themselves a disservice.

  • @Squiggle55 So basically you are telling me exactly what I already said? Great, glad you agree. The only difference in our posts is that it doesn’t bother you to be played for a fool when it does bother me.
