As National Guardsman Tom Riley, you’re about to come face to face with the brutal Chimeran invasion force in the blistering shooter built from the ground up for the PS Vita. The latest installment in the  Resistance franchise focuses on an all-new mission that parallels and complements the existing Resistance storyline, as Tom Riley rises from an everyday hero to a legend of the Resistance.

Batman: Arkham City The Game of the Year Edition for PS3, includes Harley Quinn’s Revenge. Now more dangerous than ever and leading a homicidal gang of her own, she is hell-bent on taking revenge against the Dark Knight. Bonus content includes: Catwoman Pack, Robin Bundle Pack, Nightwing Bundle Pack, Arkham City Skins Pack and Challenge Map Pack. Also, the anticipated PS Vita title Gravity Rush, receives the demo treatment. Enjoy the gravity bending experience on this week’s The Drop.

PlayStation Vita

Resistance: Burning Skies (Also on PSN) — Resistance: Burning Skies is a unique Resistance experience developed specifically for PS Vita that takes full advantage of the system’s dual analog sticks and features an all-new hero and story written by William C. Dietz, author of Resistance: The Gathering Storm and Resistance: A Hole in the Sky.

Set in a tale of survival during the August 1951 Chimeran invasion of the East Coast, you take control of Tom Riley, an everyday firefighter from New Jersey who is thrown headfirst into the teeth of the Chimeran war machine, forcing him to redefine his notions of duty and heroism.

PlayStation 3

Batman Arkham City: Game of the Year Edition — The Game of the Year Edition of Batman: Arkham City packages new gameplay content, seven maps, three playable characters, and 12 skins beyond the original retail release. Also included is the exciting epilogue, Harley Quinn’s Revenge — in this mission, players are sent back into Arkham City to face their final challenge as they interchange between playing as both Batman and Robin. Utilize each of the characters’ unique combat and investigative skills to uncover Harley’s vengeful plan and shut the gates on the urban mega-prison forever. In addition to experiencing a new storyline, fans can explore new environments and face-off against Harley’s all new gang of thugs.

Ever since she was exposed to alchemy by famed adventurer Totori Helmold, all she could think about was becoming an alchemist. With Totori’s guidance, Meruru sets out to develop her home kingdom of Arls using the power of alchemy. On her way, Meruru will encounter new adventures, obstacles, mysteries, and friends, and discover what life is like outside the castle walls. How you choose to guide her through the advancement of her land will determine the final outcome in the tale of Atelier Meruru!

That Batman: Arkham City GOTY cover art is so cluttered that you cannot even find the name of the game unless you search for it real hard.

Such a disappointment cause the original cover art is genius. :/

Hmm not in to Resistance, but it something. Other than that Gravity Rush Demo! YES finally. got that game pre-ordered for how long and can finally play the demo. still though seems like a slow week this week. nothing psp-wise either.

Really excited for the Arkham City DLC coming this week. Take my money!!

Also just wanted to mention I was really excited last week when I saw a couple of my childhood favorite titles (Alex Kidd In Miracle World and Wonder-Boy 2). I’ve really got my fingers crossed that Wonder-Boy 3: The Dragon’s Trap gets a re-release as well. Huge “please” on that request.

+ Kchow23 on May 27th, 2012 at 4:10 pm said:

Looking forward to the Gravity Rush demo and Resistance: Burning Skies!

+ AbsoluteHu on May 27th, 2012 at 4:11 pm said:

Why does such a great game like Arkham City have such bad cover art? That is some heinous clutter.

I’m glad the Vita is finally getting some love and I’ll be grabbing the Gravity Rush demo as soon as it’s available. I’ve also been looking forward to Resistance and hope the PSP title becomes playable soon on the Vita.

Finally Rayman Origins! Hope this is true.

+ massimodo on May 27th, 2012 at 4:13 pm said:

Where’s the burning skies demo? Is Rayman Origins going to be $15? And enough Rayman already on the ps2 classics front. I’d take Klonoa 2 over any ps2 version of Rayman out there.

Looking forward to Pure Chess this week! =)

Also if you want to sell me a dam* vita then get GT5 and Nascar games on it or you can shove it where the sun don’t shine! Not all of us want stupid shooters all the dam* time. Bring some racing ports to the vita like the ports to everything else you have done.

will there be a demo for Resistance: Burning Skies soon-ish?

+ Richlando on May 27th, 2012 at 6:12 pm said:

Is the GOTY edition of Arkham City why the PSN release got bumped..delayed or canceled? I ask because of the May + preview incident that saw me trading in my copy of the game for PSN cards to buy the digital version..

At least Revelations and Rayman Origins were delivered, instant buys there.
Good to see another PS2 classic and I hope they continue to get renewed life on PSN, bring on all those rpgs the PS2 was famous for though, please. Xenosga!! etc etc etc

I would like to request a chat with Bioware/EA about a Dragon Age I&II dlc sale, long shot there but considering I went for the digital versions of those games I missed out on game activations, found out after the fact, for bonus items and the Black Emporium dlc that Dragon Age II still says ingame I should be getting for free.

But good drop and hoping June kicks it into overdrive with + content. And hopefully Ridge Racer Unbounded gets a SCEA demo release, that track editor is pretty sick and the game is actually pretty good from what I played of it.

+ Nates4Christ on May 27th, 2012 at 6:15 pm said:

Big week for sony with Resistance on the Vita. It’s ashame how they are so unconfident in the game that they made the embargo on the reviews so late. Usually that is a bad sign because the game is not good and they don’t want to cancel pre orders. I hope it is good though.

+ TheJuggla17 on May 27th, 2012 at 6:18 pm said:

I really hope Rayman Origin is released Tuesday.

+ ToKKeNbL00dMoNeY on May 27th, 2012 at 6:21 pm said:

DIRT: SHOWDOWN FTWX XD, gotta say i loved batman arkham city but it got boring really quick, i think we need some more avatars for our psn, i went on thinking there would be some starhawk avatars, saying i play it 16 hours a day :P, but nothing really good.

+ Nickdude96 on May 27th, 2012 at 6:23 pm said:

Like 39 said, whatever happened to the PSN version of Batman Arkham City? I platinumed it then sold it back in january after nightwing, but I was going to buy it again once it came down in price so I could play the Harley Quinn DLC. The PSN content’s been pretty good lately, but your guys’ scheduling needs to be checked before you post. (Max Payne 2 and Killzone 1 anybody?)

+ NinjaVSNinja on May 27th, 2012 at 6:24 pm said:

Wow, expensive week.

Pure Chess for PS Vita, Resistance:Burning SkiesPS Vita for me.

+ dilbig5 on May 27th, 2012 at 6:27 pm said:

Why do people care about the cover of a case for a game? It’s not like your playing the case or gonna constantly look at it. Maybe if you were actually thinking, the developer is extremely happy that it got such good reviews and people gave it critical acclaim.

I was hoping that Nihilistic kept the CFG (Cluster Fire Gun) on RBS, but they changed it for the Marksmen.
