As National Guardsman Tom Riley, you’re about to come face to face with the brutal Chimeran invasion force in the blistering shooter built from the ground up for the PS Vita. The latest installment in the  Resistance franchise focuses on an all-new mission that parallels and complements the existing Resistance storyline, as Tom Riley rises from an everyday hero to a legend of the Resistance.

Batman: Arkham City The Game of the Year Edition for PS3, includes Harley Quinn’s Revenge. Now more dangerous than ever and leading a homicidal gang of her own, she is hell-bent on taking revenge against the Dark Knight. Bonus content includes: Catwoman Pack, Robin Bundle Pack, Nightwing Bundle Pack, Arkham City Skins Pack and Challenge Map Pack. Also, the anticipated PS Vita title Gravity Rush, receives the demo treatment. Enjoy the gravity bending experience on this week’s The Drop.

PlayStation Vita

Resistance: Burning Skies (Also on PSN) — Resistance: Burning Skies is a unique Resistance experience developed specifically for PS Vita that takes full advantage of the system’s dual analog sticks and features an all-new hero and story written by William C. Dietz, author of Resistance: The Gathering Storm and Resistance: A Hole in the Sky.

Set in a tale of survival during the August 1951 Chimeran invasion of the East Coast, you take control of Tom Riley, an everyday firefighter from New Jersey who is thrown headfirst into the teeth of the Chimeran war machine, forcing him to redefine his notions of duty and heroism.

PlayStation 3

Batman Arkham City: Game of the Year Edition — The Game of the Year Edition of Batman: Arkham City packages new gameplay content, seven maps, three playable characters, and 12 skins beyond the original retail release. Also included is the exciting epilogue, Harley Quinn’s Revenge — in this mission, players are sent back into Arkham City to face their final challenge as they interchange between playing as both Batman and Robin. Utilize each of the characters’ unique combat and investigative skills to uncover Harley’s vengeful plan and shut the gates on the urban mega-prison forever. In addition to experiencing a new storyline, fans can explore new environments and face-off against Harley’s all new gang of thugs.

Ever since she was exposed to alchemy by famed adventurer Totori Helmold, all she could think about was becoming an alchemist. With Totori’s guidance, Meruru sets out to develop her home kingdom of Arls using the power of alchemy. On her way, Meruru will encounter new adventures, obstacles, mysteries, and friends, and discover what life is like outside the castle walls. How you choose to guide her through the advancement of her land will determine the final outcome in the tale of Atelier Meruru!

Hey Rey, Dirt Showdown got delayed a couple weeks.

Looking forward to Pure Chess & Arkham City DLC though!

are you really crying about cover art? It’s what on the disc that really matters. Not whats inside the cover sleeve. Your should need to read the title either because Batman’s HUGE picture on the front should tell you what it is. Not to mention its just as basic as the original cover art. Which is alright because once again.. its whats ON THE DISC that matters. NOT the cover.

But anyway.. yeah cant wait until tuesday to get arkham city. Until then I’ll try and get the last couple trophies in arkham asylum to try and get the platinum before I start playing arkham city.

I have Atelier Meruru on pre-order at Amazon. The other two are a lot of fun, so it makes sense to pick up the third. I also want to check out that Gravity Rush demo for Vita, and Pure Chess sounds like fun. Other than that, have to see what they have on sale this week.

Burning Skies will be the first Vita purchase in over 2 months! FINALLY

Oh, and Rocksteady/WB should be embarrassed by that garbage-marketing Arkham cover.

Just got Resistance burning skies a few days ago, the truth is it’s not the Resistance that i expected from a few month ago….
It’s still an okey game but i just thought they could do it better.

Do you think its possible that when your playing a ps1 game like Bloody Roar 2 for example can you possibly allow it so that you can reply to msgs and see which of your friends are online like any other regular because when you press the ps button it always say quit game game setting manual etc. Also can you possibly add the ps2 game Okami sure you have avatars but the game would be great to have with those avatars.

Gravity Rush demo… finally. You should do file sizes here in The Drop for the future. It’d be helpful to know before release what the sizes are. More work for you guys, and more errors to potentially make, but it’d squash a lot of questions about it which seem to pop up each week anyway. :P

Looking forward to playing the Gravity Rush demo over and over, and picking up Resistance. I don’t care what the reviews are. I’m sure it’ll be decent.

Will we see a Resistence Demo on the store soon? Will we see it at all?
Has anyone seen any information about this?

Arkham City DLC, Rayman Origins, and Atelier Meruru. There’s plenty of US purchases I’ll be making this week. Not even an import this week.

However next week starts a huge rush of imports. The number of import titles is staggering.

I still dont believe why SEN has chosen to not add The old Spider-Man and Avengers Arcade Games. Both were very popular Arcade Titles and couldve coincided with the releases of both movie releases. For everyone complaining about the Batman:Arkham City:Game of the year Edition’s cover, just take the cover from the Original game, take out the new cover art sleeve, place old sleeve in, problem solved.

+ ShockWaveNews on May 28th, 2012 at 9:52 am said:

@Perro-_- They say June 1st is the release date.

I gotta get Resistance: Burning Skies. =P

What were you guys thinking with the cover art for Batman Arkham City: Game of the Year Edition? Or were you guys just not thinking at all? The cover is a cluster **** of just crazies.

On the PSN, I would love to see these:

Cannon Spike
Capcom vs. SNK PRO
Capcom vs. SNK 2
Garou Mark of the Wolves
Grand Theft Auto III HD
Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R
King of Fighters NeoWave
Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter
Marvel vs. Capcom 1
Mega Man Anniversary Collection
Mega Man X Collection
Mega Man X7
Mega Man X8
Mega Man X Command Mission
Mega Man Zero Collection
Mega Man ZX
Mega Man ZX Advent
NeoGeo Battle Coliseum
Street Fighter III Double Impact
SVC Chaos: SNK Vs. Capcom (only on Xbox and XBLA at the moment..GRRR)
X-Men vs. Street Fighter

If you can get all of these games released on the PSN or maybe on a BluRay for the PS3, then I can assure you guys that these games would sell A LOT!

When they first revealed the Arkham City GotY cover a month or so ago, I always hoped it would turn out to be a joke. In a way I guess I was right, because even though it’s real, it’s definitely a freaking joke.

I don’t usually re-buy games I already own, but I did with Arkham Asylum GotY just because I wanted to show my support that much. I’ll likely do it again for Arkham City, but wow that cover is really trying to talk me OUT of a purchase.
