  • Not to diss PSN with my above post; I love PSN that’s why I come to the blog every week to see the sales – and I own over 50 PSN games. But just for user/consumer input: PSN still seems to be too expensive (compared to Steam or sale prices at stores). Steam’s deals put you to shame, but i think they have less red tape than you guys do? I just wanted to say that I liked what you guys did with pixel junk games a few weeks back, (you sold em for a buck!), i wonder how that promotion did for ya? I’d like to see more of that :) (And i had already bought them at full price back in the day, it was just a great sale!).I can see no reason for older games like “elefunk” and “echochrome” not to be on sale super cheap these days, even for weekend deals. For example, i bought Alice Madness returns from Target 2 months ago for $12.99 box copy, its on sale on Steam today for $5.99, what would it be on PSN? $20.99 I bet? Your average deals are usually 30% off, not great. When you do have good sales I am always appreciative though :) Cross my fingers for tomorrow! (Castle Crashers for 50% off one of these days!?)

  • I’m going to pick up Mafia II. 15 USD for the package is a very good offer.

I want L.A. Noire as well, but I’m going to wait a little more, because I want it the blu-ray version.

  • Motorstorm Apocalypse should be priced at $39.99 and $29.99 for ps plus subscribers, $50 is too expensive considering you can get the game cheaper at certain stores

  • That is pretty EPIC, I just bought Red Dead last week (Kicks myself!) I would like to see a DeusEx Ultimate and Arkham City. Keep these Digital Games coming, I for one stopped buying disc based content! Digital is the FUTURE!

  • Ugh, so tempted to get L.A Noire. All that content for $20! 28GB file though, that’s a long download and install time >.<

If possible, I think that a Deus Ex: Human Revolution bundle would be great. Thanks for these deals! =)

  • Oh yea.. you guys should really consider a Dead Space 2 addition in there btw.

  • That’s it. I’m making PS3 my lead platform. If I had known my 360 would turn into an ad riddled slow as molasses device with terrible DRM implementation, I would have stuck with Sony ages ago. I wish I hadn’t bought 360 versions of all these games already. I wish my 360 library did not outnumber my PS3 library 10 to 1.

  • Oh, and please keep this up. It’s an amazing idea! It will turn me into a PS3/PS4 digital only gamer in no time.

  • are you guys planing on any future. realising God Of War 3 as a digital download. .. i already downloaded both collections ( origings and ps2). and i will love to have. all of the god of war games. in my system. please. replay. and thanks.

  • I might pick up L.A. Noire. Looks fantastic, but I probably won’t play it until this summer since my HDD space is down to 2GB. Thanks for pushing these great deals for Plus members, it’s very much appreciated.

  • BTW, regarding what’s included with the inFamous 2 edition, the image used on the main PS blog page for this announcement post is Cole from Festival of Blood.

  • This is a GREAT idea, but, my question is.. will this ultimate editions be periodical? or is a one time deal?( not the games, but the promotion)

  • MP_is_for_Chumps

Excellent. This is the best initiative i have seen here in a while :)

I prefer digital versions of bluray games (although i also like physical if it is a truly limited edition), so i’ll be all over these provided you add my type of games:

    – Heavy Rain, GoW 3, Yakuza 3, 4 + Dead Souls, Resistance 3, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 1 & 2, Uncharted ect

  • Shooters as far as the eye can see~

Nothing of interest for me this time around. Not a bad idea however. As PSNs PS3 retail collection grows some more diverse stuff should pop up in Ultimate Edition form. Hope Sega can be persuaded to get onboard some day, having Sonic Generations, Valkyria Chronicles, and Yakuza games on my hdd would be nice. Maybe get Sonys own Folklore up there (for cheap~ it is nearly 5 years old) in Ultimate Edition form since the pricing on its DLC/Bundles have never changed. :(

  • Good List… I might get Bioshock 2, don’t know the others, COD still looks too expensive to me, I would have definitely bought Dead Space 2 if it would have been included…

One question thought, does MK includes the Online Pass?

  • Nice deal if your a Playstation Plus member like myself, the Red Dead Redemption deal is great for me, I almost bought the game of the year edition on disc for $30, as a playstation plus member I get it $10 cheaper digitally. (these purchases better transfer over to sony’s next gen console).

I’m confused over the Motorstorm Apocalypse deal though. What comes with this digital bundle? I can get the retail disc for $30 new, I don’t see any mention of dlc.

  • is there Kratos in this Mortal Kombat Edition?

  • I really hope at least for future releases/updates that other games will be included like Psp/Vita (when it gets some) and PSN titles. in all honesty as a user of all 3 (psp/Vita/ps3) i feel left out as it seems Psn in general is only catered to Ps3 users, eg PS+ which i wouldnt include ps1/mini as psp/vita content, majority of the store updates have a majority of Ps3 titles, with psp/vita rarely getting some top priority-type updates.

But all in all this is a great idea and like i said catering towards more than just ps3 users will help in the long run, so i hope its something that is on the company mind.

  • MP_is_for_Chumps

Looking at today’s list, InFamous 2 will be mine for sure. Thanks! :)

  • Gah!! I was trying to not buy anything for awhile, but can’t pass these up!! I already have just cause 2 on disc, but will get the ultimate for the dlc and for the convenience of having it on the hd. Probably will pick up Mafia and MK as well.

2 more suggestions though!! Please get ultimate editions for Fallout New Vegas and Borderlands (I think they had a sale on it and the dlc already, but i missed it!!).

    Thanks!!

  • Hey Paul,

I forgot to ask but, I’m just wondering if you’re planning on having these Ultimate Edition deals monthly or every couple of months? I have to prepare my wallet just incase! =)

  • @Link01
The Vita version of Mortal Kombat already comes with all the DLC.

    @Paul Sullivan
I know you guys are trying to get SOME profit going Evolution’s way. They really got the short end durring the PSN outage. Motorstorm released smack in the middle of the outage, and therefore got ZERO PSBlog hype pre-launch. You guys on the blog really should have “relaunched” Motorstorm Apocalypse after the Blog was back up and running.

So I understand why you guys want to make them some money. But really, Motorstorm is a year old.Came out a week or 2 after Mortal Kombat. I’ve been wanting to buy the game but it’s still even $60 in the stores. I wish you could call someone and get that (plus) price down to $30, which is what I have in my PSN wallet. If not, I hope I can swing another PSN card this week. Money’s tight.

I think the best game you could offer on this new promotion (which is genius btw) would be Dragon Age Origins. One of the best RPGs ever and has alot of epic DLC. And they already have the game with all the DLC on store shelves so it’s good for all sides. $20

    • Darth Krayt, I know where you’re coming from with money being tight. The deals listed today are pretty firm in their prices, but I’ll let the right folks know about your thoughts. Appreciated.

  • MP_is_for_Chumps

dammit I like the look of Mortal Kombat as well, but i’m short by about $10.

    no fair -___________-

  • Yes the LA noir complete edition. I was dieing for this to go down in price in amazon to 20 and it seems psn beat them to it.

  • i have recently bought, last week as a matter of fact, one of these games at full price with no dlc and i feel ripped off right now, obviously. i think people who have bought the game within the month but before agressive discounts like these are offered should get the dlc for free, or a rebate toward new purchases since, case in point, they might have paid more for a game with no dlc just because of bad timing. that is a win win scenario imo, for i, and others, i believe, would keep our impulse buying at the same level without the fear of losing money when such great deals are offered, and the ps network would keep us as a customer at all times, not scavangers looking for good deals exclusively.

  • It really sucks that I just bought Blops with the First Strike DLC a few weeks ago on PSN for $50. Plus I bought the other 2 map packs (don’t care about zombie pack) for $30 more. I could have saved almost $40. I also bought Bioshock 2 a while back but without the DLC for about $20 I think. I still want the other DLC but which will cost me over $20. Could have save money with that bundle too. Oh well can’t always get the best deals.

I’ll probably buy Just Cause 2 and Mafia II though. I had JC2 before but never finished it and have been wanting to play it again. I think I may have all the DLC for it already so it might just be better to buy it used for about the same price and then I can trade it on Goozex later. Mafia II is a definite buy though.

This is a great idea and hope to see more stuff like this in the future. I’ve kind of been digging having my games on the HDD. it saves life on the disc drive and it’s easier to switch games. I also have plenty of space since I upgraded to a 1tb HDD.

  • MP_is_for_Chumps

Wouldnt mind seeing Final Fantasy XIII & XIII-2 here as well

  • YES! I just got InFamous 1 a couple of weeks ago and Platinumed it yesterday. (Btw, one of the best games ever – Sucker Punch really does deliver!)

And now I see this sale for InFamous 2 AND all DLC?! I am SO getting this!

I really do want to know, will Festival of Blood be included?

  • What about Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition mates? :(

  • MP_is_for_Chumps

    @ SlyCooperFan100

Festival of Blood is a separate stand-alone game so it’s unlikely.

    @ TheJuggla17

That went on sale in January i think. Got it for $20 :)

  • Gah! i bought MK normal edition for 50 dollars! now theres even all dlc for the game and its 35 $! whyy! the same with la noire, i payd +40 for the complete and now its 27 $, i had very bad luck.

  • Does the Red Dead Redemption one include everything that’s in Read Dead Redemption GOTY edition?

  • What about the Bioshock 1 DLC?

  • Will you sell just the pack of addons? I have almost all the games but without the DLCs.

  • @MP_is_for_Chumps No it’s not. It’s DLC that doesn’t require the game.

  • LOL at that cod bundle. Most popular games do a GOTY Edition(Even if the game doesn’t deserve such a title) with all the DLC for $59.99. Black Ops a almost two year old game gets a one week only 30% off sale?

That game probably shouldn’t have a $50 MSRP any longer either.

Neat idea guys, but like others have stated. You guys need to figure out the pricing. Some of these are good, some are not.

Also how about some Complete DLC pack sales for people who already own the retail version of these games but haven’t purchased any DLC?

  • hmm infamous 2 looks good… whats its price in england (£)?
also, a few months ago you guys were doing a gamers choice awards (2012), and there were some themes available, i really wanted the theme for the sly collection, but because i live in england, i couldn’t vote :(
will you be making any of those themes available for england?
    thanks!

  • ok…someone been doing a lil consumer research :) big kudos to whoever thought of this. i will be getting both Mortal Kombat and Motorstorm Apocalypse digital!!! thats an awesome deal for both.

  • when will the announcement of the new free games line up for next month be announced ?

  • also that’s nice for people who don’t want disc copies or don’t care to have disc copies of these games. but i rather the disc copies. so i can bring around and play anywhere at my friends. this is why i don’t like Limited Downloading on machines and that’s a big reason why i won’t buy these disc titles via download. also the other issue is Hard drive space and taking the time to download them some take me 24 hours with a disc i pop it in and install and i rather that sure PS Plus can have stuff downloaded for me but it can only do so much between time period i chose it helps a little but too bad it doesn’t download when ever my PS3 is off.

oh well hope the others enjoy !

  • Yikes this sucks. I would go out and purchase a ton of cards since this beats the Retail versions… except it’s digital… and unless you have a terrabyte hard drive…. eh… not worth it. So would get them though. OH and they’re only limited to 2 accounts. So yeah not worth it when you can bring the disc versions them over anybody’s house. I love the thought of having one button press availability but unless you have a bigger hard drive it’s not worth it. I want to get Rayman Origins for $15 because the disc version is $30. Plus has really good deals on digital games but it’s just not worth it. Steam is nice because they have 50%-75% off deals and your computer probably has a large enough hard drive when you bought it. But PS3’s get eaten up so fast. I’ll think about it. I am upgrading my HDD… soo I may as well take part.

  • Wow, you’re starting to make the PSN look even closer to Valve’s Steam store. Which I think is an amazing idea. Even this is something Valve doesn’t do often. I’ll probably be buying the Black Ops and Just Cause 2 bundles, since those are easily the most impressive (and I have neither of those games).

I hope to see this more often. It’ll definitely get more people buying games they wouldn’t originally.

  • When I read this I was excited, I plan to buy Infamous 2, but I was expecting at least these games to be on the list too:
    Little Big Planet 2
    Gran Turismo 5

And Ive been waiting since forever to buy these old games:
    God of War 3
    Heavy Rain
    SOCOM 4: U.S. Navy SEALs

Please get LBP2 and GT5 on the list!!!

    Thanks

  • MaverickHunterX

Just wondering, not that I hate the bundles or anything, but are we going to have some more PSP sales down the line? I bought my VITA at launch, and I have no problem double dipping (have over 100 UMDs at home) as long as the price is right…

Also, I know that I’ve asked before, but any chance for a Turbografx sale/bundle similar to that of the NEOGEO section? Speaking of, anymore titles for each system coming soon?

Lastly, any word when Twisted Metal Head On is going to be vita compatible? Thanks again

  • God of War 3 is probably never gonna be on digital download since the game is like 40 gigs

  • I was only able to rent InFamous 2 when it came out while I tried to keep a tight reign on my expenses, and with this sale I’ll definitely get it tomorrow. Time to clean up that last Trophy or two for the Platinum.

  • A ModNation Racers Ultimate Edition would make sense. I know that some of the DLC has had a sale, but a huge bundle would be awesome.

Not sure that NA has LBP on the PSN Store, since I have it on bluray, but that would be a good bundle to make too.

  • @93. count me in on the tg-16/duo request, wasn’t all the ones that were released already done by hudson soft? would love to see some of the later working designs stuff or a few other cd games, gates of thunder comes to mind right away.

  • Great deals, I support the notion of preorder via PSN and get a discount, It would be sweet to preorder Sony All Stars or Sly etc..

  • I was wondering if we could an update on June’s upcoming PS Plus perks. I know a lot of people get upset if something is said to be coming in an upcoming month and then it doesn’t appear due to licensing agreements, but the updates always give me something to look forward to and I don’t mind if one or two things don’t come through as long as the bulk of promised content arrives. I’ve been a PS Plus subscriber since day one and it’s worth it.

Also, these deals are pretty good. I won’t be buying any of the games for the sole reason that I own almost all of them, but I always like to see the bundles on sale. I’m much more willing to buy a game if all dlc is included in a deal.
