Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown is the definitive version of the popular Virtua Fighter 5 series, developed by AM2. The game introduces two new playable characters, overhauled fighting mechanics and dynamic and interactive fighting arenas. Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown also includes console-only features such as a robust Training Mode, eight-player Online Room Match Mode and a match record feature to replay, save, and upload fights.

In its PSN debut, Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown is $14.99 and each character costume customization DLC pack is $4.99 each at launch, with each pack containing a whopping 600-900 customization items.

Two additional customization bundle packs, one consisting of nine character customization DLC packs and the other with 10 character customization DLC pack, are also available at launch for $14.99 each. Yes, that means there will be thousands of customization items per bundle pack.

However, only on PSN, for two weeks only (from June 6th to June 19th), the Complete Edition ($45 value), which includes the full game and all 19 character customization DLC packs, will be offered storewide at a discounted price of $29.99.

Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown is also the PlayStation Plus Game of the Month. All PlayStation Plus subscribers will be able to download the game as part of their instant game collection free between June 5th to July 3rd. In addition, we will be offering 20% off on both character customization bundle packs to Plus members for two weeks (6/5-6/19). We will also be offering one free dynamic theme and 20 free avatars (scheduled to be available on 6/26) to Plus members.

  • So no matter what, PSplus subscribers will hafta pay $29.99 to get all the DLC packs as well as the game. Sneaky~. Anyways, I hope to have a free weekend to try this legendary fighting series out!

  • Excellent game, one that’s definitely worth checking out if you’re a fan of fighting games.

  • @Shinogu126
Nope, it says Plus members get a twenty percent discount on the costume packs. And anyway, we get access to the whole game for free. I don’t begrudge non-Plus subscribers getting a somewhat comparable deal on the complete pack. You shouldn’t have to be a Plus subscriber to get treated right on PSN; that’s one of the things that makes it better than the competition.

  • Awesome game! Usually I stink horribly at fighters and find it tedious to remember combos, but this game’s campaign was fun and entertaining. I recommend everyone to check it out.

  • Free for PS PLUS!!! Thank you for finally adding online! The original VF5 on PS3 didn’t have it.

  • @Shinogu126
PS+ members will have to pay about $24 to get both DLC packs, which constitutes the “whole” game. Without that, anyone with PS+ can play the core game (no costumes, no Special Sparring mode). Sorta sneaky, but not for people like me who are fine with that amazing core game :)

  • I downloaded the game… I gotta say, the game ROCKS!!! Great graphics and Play!! Small download and the game works fine. This is one awesome PS+ freebie!!! Thanks SCEA!!!! Woot! Woot! :D

  • I love this game because is the only fighting game where i can win online, i just won 9-10 fights, in Street Fighter IV series i can’t win yet, so 100% recommeded to who sucks in fighting games.

  • TYPICAL SONY. im a on going ps+ member. even payed for annoter year of ps+ only yestaday and my ps+ as no where near run out yet. on downloading the games i decided to check if they was a permenent download but to my findings i only have 68 days left on them. now on entering ps home (if i dont get kicked with a error code that only einstine could work out). i entered mercia fractured reals. AND IT DONT LOAD.

i am seriously asking of any playstation official to come forward and answer the truth

why are we getting all these errors and messabouts …. why is there no option on the ps to check how long we have left on ps+ so we can tell or even make an arangement of renewing it. ?

ps home is a free service but we have to pay for awer own spaces with in it. then we eather get the kick or we get an error code that stops us from getting to awer payed for items.

its about time some one from sony came forward and started answering all the questions we keep asking.

SO COME ON SONY MAKE US HAPPY.

  • @9 you can view the status of any or your subscriptions under account management..

  • I am really enjoying this game. I just need to get 3 more trophies for that 100 percent.

  • $14.99 for the game is fair, and free for Plus users is great. However, don’t you think pricing it at $29.99 (or later, $45.00) for customization items is a bit ridiculous? You’re charging double (later triple) the game price for costume DLC!

  • I CHALLENG AN OFFICIAL AND I GET THIS LAME NOWS NOTHING ANSWER

mush the painter seems to me you have been sniffing paint. ps+ is not a downloadable content. so no it do,s not sit in your account manager. check and you will see allso check any web site with any discription of how to find the remaining time of you ps+ on your ps3. good luck waisting your time doing that search. im 37 not 7. been gameing since age of 8. i own every console ever made and have a collection of games that only the hardest of hard core collectors could challenge me with. go a head punk make my day.

  • @13 He said account management, not download history. You can look at your transaction history/current services and see when it expires. If the games say they expire before they should, you’ll have to manually renew that by redownloading them. That is something Sony should fix (to automatically update expiration dates) but your other complaint “why is there no option on the ps to check how long we have left on ps+” – you just need to know where to look. MushThePainter was trying to help, and you didn’t even check before calling him a liar.

  • @ilekillya

37, insultive, and incoherent. It’s quite obvious who’s sniffing paint. You’re embarrassing. It’s no wonder a Sony rep won’t respond to you. You can find the answer to one of your questions simply by going to “Account Management -> Transaction Management -> Services List -> Playstation Plus -> Playstation Plus (yes twice, the option that doesn’t say “renew subscription”). There you will find when your subscription started and its end date. Simple math will reveal how many days of the service you have remaining.

  • I am terrible at fighting games but a few of my friends are diehards. They just thrive on fighting games; no other genre matters. I’ve always wondered how come there isn’t Tekken or VF tournaments like for the SF series?

  • Here’s another issue I have with PS+. I wish there was the option of also being able to buy the game in addition to getting it for free. There were times like for instance last Halloween, when all the PS1 Resident Evil games were free for PS+ members and 50% for non PS+. I would have rather paid the 50% off price and keep it forever then to get it for free and then have to pay full price for it if I ever don’t renew my membership! But I don’t have that option! Look at Virtual Fighter now, even though I get the game for free I still have to pay $24.99 for all the DLC. If I end my membership I will have to have to pay full price for the game because I don’t have that option of buying it now! This is a big oversight on Sony’s part that I wish they would change. Give me the option of buying a free game in case I eventually decide not top renew my membership.

  • So I have a bit of a question regarding PS+, this game, and the 30 dollar “complete” bundle. I downloaded the free version that I was given for having PS+. That said I am thinking about buying the complete edition as I’d like the DLC, this is the cheapest way to get it, and I don’t always intend on keeping PS+ so I’d like to have a mostly permanent copy of the game to play. If I buy the complete edition will the game still be playable once my PS+ membership is up? I know it’s a stupid question but I’m worried about the game’s license not converting over from one that expires after my PS+ is up to one that doesn’t.

  • ok mike. + jerm7

if you can find any trace of reciently bought ps plus on my ps3

ile buy you both a fararri. seems as if the paint sniffing is spreading.

i am my own god and live in my own temple and it is up to me if i choose to open my door to the inept public. and if i do so and all breaks loose i only have my self to blame.

  • in other words its not showing up.

  • @ilekillya
wow.. dude.. you’re definitely not 37. i’d say 7. please follow directions. it is listed under the PS3 XMB EXACTLY as Mike_J stated ” “Account Management -> Transaction Management -> Services List -> Playstation Plus -> Playstation Plus (yes twice, the option that doesn’t say “renew subscription”)”

ALSO, if you’re that (special) then please visit, sonyentertainmentnetwork.com, login with your PSN account info, go to MEDIA and look through your very large list of everything downloaded, i have 703 items so don’t complain about looking or taking too long.

I found Playstation Plus listed as a Service, when you click it, it shows you everything that the PS3 XMB shows you! EXACTLY as Mike_J stated. other guys were very nice in trying to explain this to you as well. BUT as we all know, 7 year olds have very poor comprehension skills…

I actually just cancelled my Auto Renewal for PS+ through the SonyEntertainmentNetwork.com website. you cannot say it doesn’t work as i just 100% confirmed it

  • the only thing i could suggest about the sonyentertainmentnetwork.com website is to include a “services” section under media. as currently services are mixed in with Games, they are in a secondary category under Games as Games Services. just create a Services section as you already have Video, Music, and Comics. this would help people in finding things better and not turn out like some people (aka ilekillya – even his name insists he is young and immature).

  • @ilekillya – i also highly doubt you’ll buy me a Ferrari as you cannot even spell its name correctly. you do however owe at least 3 of us Ferrari’s and probably more for people who had to read your very ignorant comments and deal with your crap

  • lol i’m on a ROLL!!!
    @ilekillya

also, a very simple search of the Sony Knowledge Center, which an intelligent person would do, would easily come across this, that explains… you guessed it EXACTLY what Mike_J said!! OMG!!!

    wow, you have problems.

  • Sharingan_itachi

  • @kid commando. hope in yhe near future you have problems too so i can take the piss
