Summer is officially here! You know the drill: Long daylight hours, bad TV (until July 15th!), soaring temperatures, and plenty of time to catch up on your gaming stack of shame. For those of us in the gaming industry, this is a surprisingly busy season that brings an avalanche of videogame-related events: EVO, San Diego Comic-Con, Gamescom, and ultimately Tokyo Game Show in September. What upcoming gaming event are you most eager for?

In other news this week, id Software discussed details of the upcoming PS3 compilation Doom 3: BFG Edition, Media Molecule highlighted new costumes and user creations in LittleBigPlanet, SOE launched the new DC Universe Online expansion “The Last Laugh,” Zen Studios revealed its new Marvel Pinball DLC The Avengers Chronicles, the developers of Jeremy McGrath’s Offroad confirmed the game’s final release date (and 1080p/60 frames per second racing), while the creators of PSN exclusive car combat title Wheels of Destruction revealed a free new expansion.

Will we hear anything about that this week, Sid? ‘Cause, ya know, it’s been an awful long time since we last heard anything about any DLC, GT Academy notwithstanding.

Just started it! Love the way the book is designed. I wanted to get a digital version, but it’s not available until this October — I guess they’re making a special e-book version to recreate the paperback’s design and layout.
