  • Is Parappa the Rapper going to be cheaper any time soon?

  • meh.
The games that are on there that I would be remotely interested in I rather get on disk.

shadow of the collosus is a decent price but with a coupon I can get it preowned at best buy WITH Ico for like $25, saves HDD space too. + I can trade it in.

I would get crysis but EA and crytek failed and didn’t put in the multiplayer from warhead, which would have made it an instant buy even at full price.

Infamous looks ok, and for $5 I might bite.
Killzone I rather just buy the retail game I mean its like $20 new.

    —-
    My suggestions
Fat princess, i mean that game is kinda old now right? game + all dlc in the $7 dollar range please I played the demo when I first got my PS3 and still haven’t gotten it, I probably already missed a sale but if I see one I will probably eat it up.

Order up, My friend got this game and he is loving it but I am not paying $15 or w.e it is unless I can try it ( there is no demo) I would risk $5 or maybe $7, plus it would make him mad for buying it early

top it all off with one of the older PS3 ratchet and clanks for a good $5 maybe $10 and we are good.

    Me being hopeful, not ungrateful.

  • when will we see PS One support for the vita with a new vita update 2.0?

  • Come on, Sony – Gotham City Impostors went for sale on Steam MONTHS ago for just $7.50!

Your pricing strategy is seriously borked, I swears.

Everyone should be playing Gotham City Impostors, and you should be pricing it better when it’s on sale, GARLDANG YOU.

  • Oh, and does the Killzone 3 Multiplayer have a trophy set?

    :D

  • @151 re: Crysis

Did you forget that most computers couldn’t even run Crysis back in the day, let alone run it at full graphical settings?

The PS3 is a pretty strong machine (excluding its hard division of its 512 memory into 256 for graphics and the other for system) but it probably couldn’t even run Crysis with Multiplayer. It’d be too much information to sync and render for all the players.

It was a forgivable concession made to get Crysis on the PS3 at all.

If you want to look at actual PS3 failures, bark up Bethesda’s tree. There are a few cats up there, like Fallout: New Vegas and Skyrim.

  • Wow!!!! Shadow of the Colossus. =]

  • Again, I echo the comments before me.

During every one of Steam’s sale (Summer, Winter, Fall, Halloween, etc), I dropped hundreds of dollar on games cause their deals are just THAT good. I shudder every time Steam mention that a sale is coming.

After joining PS+ last September, I kinda stopped buying from Steam altogether. When I saw the title to this post, I went “F@#k Me”, expecting the same from PSN as I was used to from Steam.

Then I saw the list, and thanked Sony. This is not just wimpy, but a sorry excuse for a sale. Hundreds and thousands of games on the PSN and this is the best you can do? PS3, PS2, PSOne, PS Vita, PSP, Minis. You picked Festival of Blood, AGAIN. This will be the third time that this title went on sale in the past 9 months.

Sigh… Sony used to have a killer marketing team. What happened to those guys?

  • xX_Brovahkiin_Xx

MAN! LOOK AT ALL THOSE VITA GA- oh wait….

  • Yet again another summer sale with nothing on the portable side. Really sad to this. it just shows to me that you guys dont care for your other system. Granted im not saying Vita games should be on here since i would consider them still new, but if thats the case whats the excuse for not having Psp or ps1 titles on this list? or basically everything else that is on the PSN.

Im not trying to sound rude, but one would think if its a PSN sale, wouldnt you at least put one of each category on this list of summer sales? you know one ps3 title, psn, psp, ps1, mini, etc? it just seems like you are only support one crowd of gamers despite you having a portable system to support as well.

  • @159 iTofuman

I agree. How about a sale on HotShots Golf as it is being sold for less than $20 at retail at alot of stores.

And why not use this sale to promote the PSP back catalog to new Vita owners? Jeanne d’Arc looks beautiful on the Vita screen, as does Daxter.

There are so many options. Why not have some more sales on the portable side?

  • I’ve been meaning to try out the ICO/Shadow of the Colossus series, but I can’t just jump into the second one. Why isn’t the first one on sale also? It’ll be really cool if you made Ico one of the free games for next month!

  • Definitely gonna pick up Festival of Blood. Anyone know if Gotham City Impostors still has enough people online playing it to make it fun?

  • @154 it has its on platinum for kill zone mp

  • @139, well, the fan base hasn’t faded. & you’re 100% correct, the current gen of JRPGs are lackluster. I love JRPGs; but the production costs has gone up & we both know the time it takes to produce an RPG. Sigh, I don’t think I can name 10x JRPGs in production right now.

  • @ WhiskeyBlues

So true. you would think since not everyone owned a Psp, but more than likely now own a Vita. They never experience the Psp and its titles. so why not give them what they missed out on? Heck and its not even about the sale as well. With every PSN Update we barely get anything on the portable side. if a psp title hits its barely notice in the PSN drop or update.
Its the same for PS+ as well. granted i understand they said it was coming, there is no excuse why Psp and Ps1 titles were excluded for the longest time.

I just hope they are taking our consideration into the matter, but if past sales show its more than likely not going to change. Ive seen ever Summer/Winter/etc type of sale they got even when the PSP was in its prime and no games were ever in a sale. i just wish they take their portable games releases and sales seriously as they do with the PS3.

  • Playstation plus service is officially two years old today, congratulations! No cake for this year? :) Just wondering: Paul, are we getting the ‘3-months extra for 12-months’ deal like last year regarding playstation plus subscription? I plan to purchase the 1-year subscription but I’ll wait if there’s going to be such deal/promo. Oh and thank you for the summer sale!

  • Since PS1 Classics will soon be playable on Vita, any chance of Sid Meier’s Civilization II for PS1 seeing a release? I’d love to play Civ on Vita, and since Civ Rev for PSP ended up getting cancelled, that seems to be our only possible option…

Also, any chance of Every Extend Extra for PSP seeing a PS Store release? I’d love to play this again, even if it got a release on PSN much in the way that Xbox Live did…

  • I still will never pay for PSN+ for reasons of principle but it’s nice to see sales in general. If I didnt already have the physical copy of Shadow of the Colossus I’d be hard pressed to find a reason not to get it now… of course the disk based version was already a good reason to pick it up so if you haven’t, seriously, what’s wrong with you?

  • Those are good deals!

I hope there would be a sale for PSone games such sa Final Fantasy VI, VII, VIII, IX and Legend Of Dragoon
    How about Vagrant Story? :D

  • I’m not going to ask for Vita discounts because I understand that it’s “too early” but can we get at least some psp titles that are compatible with the Vita? There are so many awesome JRPGs on the PSP!

  • XxDG3K_ALL_DAYxX

Cool sale.. I wonder if shadow of the colossus will ever be free for ps plus

  • I second the lack of vita sales is a downer… my problem is mainly with the psp game prices though. Most of the games are 10 dollars which is fine, but there are some major spikes in there for apparently no reason. Some games (that were released around 2 years ago or more) are still 40 dollars, for example Ace Combat: Joint Assault. Another example, Locoroco 1 being 22 dollars when LR2 is only 8 doesn’t make sense to me. I’d like to rebuild my umd library for my vita but 40 bucks is wayyyyy to steep for one title, not even most vita games release at a price that high.

  • Paul,
once again, regarding Afrika, excepting maybe the first 5M ps3 owners that heard about the game, since the ps3 was released , there are, now, maybe, 20-30 millions potential psn users, who never heard about Afrika, and could give it a try.
unfortunately, I never saw the game on some shelves, otherwise I would have bought it. having it on the psn, like 9.90$ for psn users, and 8.49$ for psn+, even if it costs Sony like 1$, for maintenance and internet bandwidth, they could still make like 6$ for each game sold.

I can even imagine a Kevin Butler ad, where we could see him, like Indiana Jones, holding a digital camera, and saying “hi, friends of the nature.I would like to tell you a story about my last 3 months spent in the jungle, but any noise would make this 600 pounds lion run away, and make me lose a perfect photo.so please, be quite, and stop moving.ahhhhhhhh, he’s gone.grrrrrrrrrrooooooooarrrrr ”

I would like to have heavenly sword on the psn, for like 9.90
it would be great, specially since it’s impossible to find it on stores.
    thanks Paul for reading.

  • are you still doing the 12 games for playstation plus members thing? I want to be member again soon.

  • When are we getting Modnation Racers on sale?!

  • game that should be on psn: god of war 3, MGS 4, MGS HD collection and heavenly sword. if they did it with uncharted 1 and 2 they should do it with these too. i never got the chance to play MGS4 ,heveanly sword and GOW 3 because i didnt have a ps3 at the time and if they were on psn i would totally buy them.

  • just adding my voice to the Vita ps+ perks ….. I saw the list of discounts the UK gets for their digital Vita games & wow – would love something here …. don’t misunderstand, I’m a very thankful + member, would just like to see some thought for the Vita (fantastic system btw) …. Rayman Origins came out well b4 the Vita launched & is the most expensive platform to buy it for …. I thought the Ubisoft sale earlier was going to include the Vita version …. as the retail PS3 version sells today for $20 (physical copy) could we not see something lower for the digital Vita version ?? as digital DLs also consume valuable memory space, there should be some perks – & it can’t be traded / sold, so there are perks from your end of things too …. just a thought . thanks for the sale …. I was waiting on Pac Man …. was happy to buy it at a discounted + price …. will keep my eye out for it. some are saying it will now be a freebie … whatever works. :-)

  • dragonbuster1985

Awesome!!, now I will be able to grab festival of blood and shadow of colussus, sweet deal!!

  • dragonbuster1985

does anyone know if there is a chance Castle Crashers might get a discount for Plus members??, Its a great game but 15 bucks still dont cut it for me :S

  • SephirothItachi-

Well definitely going to get Shadow of the Colossus HD with Trophies. Infamous Festival of Blood of course. Closure i watched a review of and am going to get it. Catherine was on the blogcast as being 20 this tuesday. Very solid chance i’ll get that too. I’m on the edge on Crysis and Gotham City Imposters though.

  • Some of this deal stuff is such BS! Right now PSN+ subs can buy Drake 1 & 2 separately with a discount on each, but the bundled 1 & 2 cost exactly the same price even for non-subs. If the individuals are discounted, so should the bundle for as itt is subs are getting the shaft by Sony.

  • I want that Crysis & Shadow of the Colossus HD.

    XD

  • So, how about the last year promotion: Buy one year of playstation plus and get more 3 months or buy 3 months and get 1 more free?

  • Still wayting for more simulview games… 3D display = waste of my money…

  • No Vita sales!? (facepalm-headshake)
Is Sony Really gonna let the vita drop off everybodies radar? Including the ones with a vita in hand JUST WAITING TO SPRING ON DEAL?

  • Nice to see NBA Jam: On Fire Edition go on sale. I already bought it a few weeks ago, but it’ll be great to see newer players playing online so that I have some chance of winning in Online Arena, heh.

I agree with the guy who suggested PSX sales. That would be awesome! I’ve had my eye on Wild Arms 1&2, MediEvil (I forgot to download it when it was free for PS+ last summer :/), and Suikoden for a while.

  • SalamanderKnight

    @183

I am waiting for that as well. I hope it happens.

  • You guys have just given me a reason to buy the Shadow of the Colossus digital version. The $20 per game when I’ve already got em on disc is tough, but this I can work with. Keep em comin!

  • Anyone noticed today is PS+ 2 year anniversary? :D

  • can you please put moon diver on sale.

  • USRevenge2 … WELL Said.

  • Is it possible to see psp games on sale? Like disgaea and Persona?

  • they are very nice list. Definitely i will be getting inFAMOUS FoB.

Can u please include Dirge of Cerberus : Final Fantasy VII in the playstaton 2 classics????

  • Why no ico ?

  • what are the free psplus games for july?

  • is there going to be more free games for ps plus on july or only discounts?

  • I was just about to buy Jurassic Park a few days ago, but decided I should wait a week, hoping there would be some perk from PS+ for me to get it free or cheaper. Thank you for the thousandth time, PS+!!! Best “investment” of my life? Probably.

  • @ExPresident – agreed! Steam sales makes me think that these prices are crazy high too :) Especially for many of these games which no one really asked for. i see “hottest summer sale” i don’t think “30% off”, i think 50% off and maybe more for PS+ members, but $10 for a $15 game isn’t a huge sale. Heck my local comic shop gives me a 35% off the top every week on my comics as just a regular deal, so a rare season sale giving me 30% on some games doesn’t excite me. Steam will go 75% off on all kinds of stuff weekly!

Do people want Real Steel? Or Killzone 3 multiplayer for $10? (You can buy the whole game used for $15). If Closure was on sale for $4.99 that’s a game i wouldn’t really buy but a great sale would have enticed me to try it out for cheap. Same with NBA Jam, $4.99 100% buy – if it was $7.50 for regular folks probably still would have bought it, $10 no way. Crysis for $7.50 would have made my day, $13.99 doesn’t even feel like a sale.

  • I am not buying anymore downloadable content until I know that it can be transferred to PS4.
The sooner Sony comments the better.
