  • I thought that the IGC would be something for every month. Not the old every two weeks of PS+ update, which I don’t like very much. Imposters game is not an interesting game. Shouldv’e made Payday The Heist free instead. Not sure about Renegade Ops but I’m down for top down shooters. As for Pac Man, I’m a big fan of classic legendary games like Pac Man. Kinda disappointed about this week’s PS+ update. I hope it’s much better, next time around.

  • Hey Morgan,
To answer your questions from the blog first: I would definitely prefer a steady stream of content over the “one-and-done” updates and I would rate the current IGC an 8/10. While I loved the great games that we got last month, I do enjoy the Minis, themes and avatars as well.

Like many others, I think that the Vita should be a part of Plus but not for FREE games, at least not at this point in time. It’s way too early for Sony to start giving away full Vita games, they would run out pretty quickly as there just aren’t that many games for the system yet. I would like to see a few Vita games receive a Plus discount each month, just look at the great discounts on Vita games that the EU store has been running. As far as free content for the Vita, you could give away the Minis that are Vita compatible or some of the PSP games. I also think that it should be required that all new Minis be required to run on Vita before they are launched.

Thanks for all you do, I mean that!

  • Could we have some Crash Bandicoot and Spyro games on Playstation Plus as maybe a Playstation All-Stars celebration? Just giving an idea.

  • More games that just don’t interest me. I was hoping some of our feedback about PS1/PSP games would have gone through but alas.

I’d be really happy to see the remaining PSP games like Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops made compatible on Vita! Totally missed that game due to the lack of a second stick.

Hopefully next week we’ll see the PS1 support on Vita and hopefully a PSP/PS1 sale!

  • I was unimpressed with the GCI beta, and I already have Pacman, but Renegade Ops was a game I was hoping to see. Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath would have been my first choice, so I hope we get that in the next few months, like the European version of PS+ did.

I have a few suggestions though… these are all PSN games. Maybe try for a mix of full games and PSN games each month. At least one of each, to cater to different tastes.

The other thing is, and I could be wrong on this, but the organization for some of the categories in the PS+ section of the PS Store doesn’t make a lot of sense. I think it was a page for avatars or themes buried within another page where you wouldn’t think to look. I think I missed the Escape Plan avatars for this month because of that. I check the new releases and coming soon options each week just to be sure I’m not missing anything, but I swear I didn’t see the avatars in those sections either.

  • When will the store update happen?

  • wow now sony is getting good more free full disc games you guys sould do this all yr for plus last yr sucked this yr is getting good i notest more pepplpoe joing plus now becuse its getting better now last tues i got alot of avaters week before that more avter and theme im trying to figure out something on canada day i ownly got a shirt but what the heck are thous red box things i walked up to 2 of them they just dissapire i think the plus sould go back to what it was before 1-3 free full games 1-6 avter 5 % games 1-5 themes + beta every week all that was included ech week now it 1 week 1-3 full games 2 week 1-6 avter and 1-2 themes 3 week % games and thmes

  • You should have rotated lara croft choplifter and sideway out too :( ….does this mean we wont be getting anymore free PSone games? or minis?

  • if i would have known it was gonna be like this i wouldnt have bought PS+ until tomorrow instead of last month xD

  • @197, Strangers wrath being on the european store means nothing to me when I live in canada.

  • I’ve been following PS+ updates here from the start but I didn’t join until last month. The offer was too good to pass up and I felt then as I do now, if Sony didn’t release a single game after the June promotion that I was still getting my money’s worth for the 1-year subscription. I rationalized it as a subscription being one retail game I would have bought otherwise, whereas the deal had 12 or so great games I fortunately haven’t played yet available to me for the entire year. Everything else is just icing on the cake, so to speak, with new games updated by the month. That being said, I still hope we see more exciting promotions like we saw in June. Make them quarterly or holiday promotions, perhaps? No pressure.

  • Vita games or Vita discoun please. PLUS MEMBERS WANT VITA CONTENT!

  • I like this steady flow of new games coming out periodically throughout the month, it leaves more excitement for new games to play. I also love the types of games we get to try out for free, it allows me to expand my horizons has a gamer instead of just buying retail triple A titles and also trying out different genres. PS+ consistently delivers and shows that it is the best gaming service available to any gamer in the world.

  • @JKar275 Batman Arkham City GOTY is too new to be in PS Plus lol

  • To me, honestly, it would be most efficient if everything was laid out all at once (as suggested by a previous poster, #100 or something, I think). That way I wouldn’t have to spend time checking everything at later times.

However, I can see how some people may enjoy the ‘mystery’ of a weekly/bi-weekly revelation, so if it has to be that way, I’m fine with that too. In fact, I think what you’re doing right now works pretty well in that regard.

Pretty happy with the game selection this month (have Pac-Man, but the other two were ones I’d been thinking of getting), and to be totally honest, I don’t expect that *every* month is going to be great for *everyone* — that’s just not feasible.

However, I think you should consider some of the concerns laid out by other commentators regarding PS One/PS2 Classics, and the PS Mini giveaways too.

Finally, please also don’t forget while giving out the games, the utility/services offerings of Plus — please try to bring some advancements there too. For example, I think it’s high-time the Online Backup service quota is upgraded — getting kinda crowded in there! Also, any other such utility improvements would be great additions.

  • Could you tell us why playstation plus doesn’t support the psp whatsoever. No psp deals or free psp games (There’s minis, bot those don’t count). Are we gonna get any free stuff for psp or at least deals for the psp in the future? I am sure there are some people willing to get playstation plus if you supported the psp more.

  • What’s the size of Gotham City Impostors?

  • How about a rpg? like dragon age, demon souls(if publish online).

  • Question: Do you prefer monthly Plus free games updates all at once, or more of a steady feed of content arriving through the month? On a scale of 1-10, what would you score the current Instant Game Collection lineup?

Answer to question 1: I prefer a steady feed of content through the month. That way I’m not disappointed when the next week of the first month of a PS+ update isn’t empty handed with no free games or items.

Answer to question 2:The scale I would rate the current game collection lineup is 10. Great games and way better then the previous ones back a few months ago. I just hope we can get new games that just currently release like Saints Row: The Third or something like that. At least a couple of games that release in 2012 too.

Anyway thanks for the free items and keep on gamin!

  • forgot to aswner, -7/10- and more of a steady feed of content arriving through the month.

  • great …. looking fwd to Pac Man ! as to the game choices & rotation – some members are pretty demanding & hard to please … there’s no way that all the games will be new to everyone – of the 12 originals, some I own already & others aren’t my style – but I was still pleased with the additional free content …. thrilled w/ R & C All 4 1 & Infamous 2 – what a great scoop !

some folks need to chill out …. PSN can’t please everyone all the time – but seems they are making efforts to improve & enhance the PS+ offerings. IMO

  • I think PS+ is doing a great job delivering cool games. However, I really do miss PSOne classics, and how come PS2 library is arguably one of the best in game’s history and we are not getting anything? and I do not mean even HD PS2 versions (which will be cool as well like MOF Frontline or classic COD) but classic RPG’s such as Xenosaga or Suikoden or more SMT games like Nocturne or Persona 4.

I really prefer to have PS+ news and new stuff on weekly or bi-weekly basis which makes me wonder and wait for each Tuesday update. Otherwise, I think I would only check the blog like once or twice a month.

Game collection is an 8/10. There are some serious cool games but I’d like to see more RPG’s in there. Also would love to get a chance to have other TellTale games such Tales of Monkey Island or Sam & Max.

  • PS Plus has been a 10/10 for the past few months.

The 3 new games this month are awesome. I’ve wanted Gotham City Imposters since it came out, and Pacman DX too! I’m aware that every moth is NOT going to be 12 free games, but it looks like you’ve started to listen to the community about the free games being of substantial quality. God Job! Keep up the good work.

As far as PS Plus for Vita, no thank you. I don’t own a vita, and if my Plus service started to be riddled with items for Vita… I’d be upset.

Again… Love PLUS, keep bring us new awesome games…. I’m so stoked!

  • Will we ever see stuff for the Vita on PS PLUS? would love that

  • I would give the current PS Plus Instant Game Catalog a 8/10. It has some great full games that maybe not a lot of people have played. I think this is way better than just offering some new game that a bunch of people have played. Lesser known games that people may have passed by either because of a crowded holiday season or they just didn’t sell well is a really good second chance for these games. Especially if they have add on content that can earn the developer additional revenue! All the games offered are of high quality, also: no throwaways. Great Job, Sony!

  • Oh yeah, and announcing and releasing the games throughout the month is a good way to keep people guessing and on their toes. Maybe teasing which publisher or developer’s name ahead of the release would keep people interested as well. Miscellaneous factoids about the game, etc. That’s how you keep people talking about Plus.

  • I’d still like more PS1 and maybe PS2 games for free.

  • Renegade looks cool, local coop win. Played DX before on 360, but I will gladly play again. Even Gotham City looks good. Still have to play Infamous 2, finish Trine 2 and play some other games.

    Thanks, Sony!!!

  • this weeks update is lame.last month was way better verry disapointed, and to the fanboys that keep saying we should not complain for free stuff.its not free we pay for plus so stfu.

  • Seth, from before you left capcom, was there any word on a localization of Monster Hunter Portabel 3rd?

  • I love the idea of the IGC for PS Plus I REALLY hope Resisance 3 comes to IGC and one of the Killzone’s!

  • this update reminds me off the old ps plus. where you wait 1 month then find out this months games are junk. i would like to see more full PS3 games and some RPGS!

  • I’m surprised to read comments from people saying they don’t want “their” ps+ service to include Vita perks – how does the inclusion of another system detract from the PS3 perks ? it could be argued that Vita owners are actually more fully supporting Sony – they got on board as early adopters & deserve to also share in + service benefits …. I’m quite certain that Sony won’t decide to reduce the PS3 offerings, but rather enhance the line up to include & reflect their newest handheld ….. win / win all the way around …. it also would serve as a message to the consmer base that Sony is behind the Vita.

  • I like the idea of two plus updates give me time to play a couple games instead of being swamped and having to make a decision on what to play.Second i rate the collection 8.5 while they are very good games I think a major title would warrant a 10.

  • O yes and as an early adopter of the Vita and the PS3 both day one.PLEASE Vita perks for +

  • Glad to see more games for PSN+

My thought would have a new game added every week, ( yes this is one more then you add now but I think it would help evening up the subscription rate)

    I would

    1st Week add a PS3 game
    2nd Week add a Mini / Vita Cross play / PS1 Game
    3rd Week PSN Game
    4th Week PS2/ Vita / PSN game

this would keep the curent PSN+ members all ways coming back, intergate the vita into the system as well with the ps3, and all ways give someone incentives to join.

  • PURA VIDA!!!

  • I don’t like this months update…

I was expecting some retail titles but there weren’t any. I’m not saying it is a bad update i’m just saying i was expecting better.

  • “Do you prefer monthly Plus free games updates all at once, or more of a steady feed of content arriving through the month? On a scale of 1-10, what would you score the current Instant Game Collection lineup?”

I don’t mind whether they’re given to us all at once or in a steady feed of content; as long as we’re getting them, I’m grateful for the service. I’d give this month’s lineup an 8/10 right now, but that might change once I play the games myself. I’ve wanted to try Pac-Man CE for a while now, so this works out. The only FPS I own on PS3 is Portal 2, so GCI will also be a nice change of pace. I hear good things about Renegade Ops, so I’ll definitely give it a try too.

Thanks a bunch for the deals, PS+. I’m always looking forward to the first of the month to find out what’s in store!

  • I, personally, kind of like having new games each week throughout the month. I think it’s just better for me and my schedule… But that’s just me.

The biggest thing I would like to see is better library managment for downloaded games, but I’m sure that’s a restriction of the platform. I’m expecting Orbis to have something more Steam-like in the way PSN purchases are handled, i.e. an easily accessible list of all games both downloaded and not.

  • Also, I agree with #216’s comment. I would love to see some deals and freebies for the Playstation Portable! I use mine more than my Playstation 3, so I’m thrilled when I can get some bonuses for it.

  • I do feel that most of this has been previously said above but it’s worth repeating.

If the program gives out more games in two weeks, awesome. However, it’s kind of disappointing to just go “Instant” collection and then rotate out three games each month.. It`ll be even more disappointing if the ps3 games don’t get replaced by actual ps3 games and are replaced by psn games instead.

At the moment, I`m loving choplifter, ratchet, and sideway. From playing JC2 i know thats a fantastic game as well. You’re hitting 9/10 on my scale now, but if we’re hitting three games a month (especially a multiplayer only game this month) I fear the best already came our way.. Besides, I liked playing ps1 games to begin with.

  • Also. Please do give out a game a week if you’re keeping with the three week scale. We get front loaded now. If you’re keeping secrets on the second half of the month and three more games pop out- Great. If not, why not reveal one game a week? Make a game out of it by teasing the next weeks game that gets added to plus.

  • Hmmm I was also expecting better. Thought it was 12 new games each month in place of the previous 12 games. Was hoping for too much haha so am a lil bummed I know I won’t be playing Gotham City Imposters for a full month haha. Actually I thought uncharted 1 and 2 were going to be included just because it’s out on the psn now

  • I spend hundreds of dollars a year on the PSN. If I get this I will stop buying games. I would like the extra in discounts on games though. It keeps me from buying some of the games. If you make a bundle with Music Unlimited and get the extra discounts I’ll buy. I’ll spend more money to have things tailored the way I want. Or you can just give us the discounts like a month later.

  • After giving it some though I think i would like to get new plus content every week instead of all at once.As much I a don’t like having to wait it would be nice know that there would always be at least one new thing to look forward to every week. And not getting swamped with a bunch of games all at once that you have to work through just so you can play the next one would be nice.

As for rating the collection I think I would give it about a 7 out of 10.
LBP2 is amazing and would deserve a ten by itself but I do own it on disk but it was nice to get the digital copy.
R&C All for one was a pleasant surprise that I probably wouldn’t have played were it not for PS+ so I like that.
Infamous 2 was disappointing and I’m glad I did spend money on it. Hard Corps was nice but it’s going way now.
I think more variety would be nice because most of the games are shooters right now.

  • I think the addition of these games for Plus Members is fantastic. As a plus member myself though, I am always sorely disappointed when I see a game get put up for free for plus members when I’ve already payed for it.

I know that’s not really a problem to complain about, it’s just mildly frustrating sometimes.

  • Well I’m not buying anymore games off PSN. Out of the first 12 games of the collection I didn’t own 3. Now You only replace 3 and I already own those too. Looks like you’ll only get $50 a year from me.

I’d love to get Rainbow Moon but it’ll probably be free later on.

  • Great idea with the instant collection thing maybe just not well thought out. From scimming thru the comments here I see alot of us are upset. I’m just going to throw a suggestion out there that would make alot of us Plus members happy we don’t want to see the same games offered two months in a row I’m sure that has alot to do with everybody’s gripe ok you gave out 12 games last month maybe instead of dropping them all at once do 3 a week or rotate 6 in every two weeks then at the end of the month start over with a fresh batch the way it’s going it’s going to have to be 3 games rotated in every week to keep everyone happy that’s what’s expected now since the 12 games a month thing the way look right now is it will be maybe 6 games a month with stuff getting rotated I’m not going to write a essay on the topic so I’ll just leave it there I know you guys have the right idea in mind and maybe just don’t know how to execute it but I’m sure it will soon get sorted out for the best I just hope sooner than later before every month of Plus starts to feel like a waste to everybody

  • Um I have a dumb question. How can Gotham City Impostors be both on sale and available for free for ps+ users. Is this a mistake or have you finally realized that you need to offer both so people who might not be renewing can buy the copy for discount?
