The Drop: Week of July 9th 2012 New Releases

Update: In this post, we incorrectly reported that Mickey Mania would be coming to PlayStation Store. There are no plans to release the game on the North American PlayStation Store as the game only supports PAL video output, which is incompatible with North American television sets.

With NCAA Football 13 for PS3 and as a full digital download on PSN this week, experience the pride and pageantry of gameday Saturday like never before. Go from high school superstar, to top college player, to head coach in Road to Glory and Dynasty modes. With a new passing system, new team-specific traditions, and the Heisman Challenge, make an impact by leading your team to the National Championship.

PSN exclusive Rainbow Moon is a Strategy RPG from the makers of the hit Soldner-X franchise. Cursed by his long-time enemy, Baldren founds himself warped to Rainbow Moon. Baldren isn’t only stranded in an unknown place – he has also opened a dimensional gate, out of which troops of monsters are crawling, turning this once peaceful planet into a real hell.

Also on PSN, Quantum Conundrum arrives and Mickey Mania: The Timeless Adventures of Mickey Mouse is a PSone classic, both ready for download on this week’s The Drop.

PlayStation 3

NCAA Football 13 (Also on PSN) — With a new passing system that changes the way quarterbacks and receivers play and respond, combined with a new read and react defensive AI system, NCAA Football 13 delivers greater realism on the virtual gridiron.

PlayStation Network

Rainbow Moon — The residents of Rainbow Moon who have found themselves in this sudden and unpleasant situation react suspiciously and even nastily, which certainly doesn’t make things any easier for our brave hero. There’s only one thing for Baldren to do: he has to seal the gate and warp himself back to his home planet. This is easier said than done, since the gate can only be sealed by a dimensional gate staff and no such object is available anywhere on Rainbow Moon. However Baldren knows that he can create one if he finds the right materials. He needs seven magical artifacts, said to be hidden deep inside Rainbow Moon’s dungeons.

Quantum Conundrum — In the first-person puzzle platformer Quantum Conundrum , players must use the unusual ability to shift dimensions to navigate the twisting corridors of Quadwrangle Manor. Players take on the role of a young kid dropped off on his uncle’s doorstep for the weekend; his uncle just so happens to be the brilliant, eccentric inventor, Professor Fitz Quadwrangle. Upon entering the Professor’s vast manor home retrofitted with crazy technology to test his latest hypotheses, players quickly realize their uncle has gone missing. Fortunately, players soon gain access to Professor Quadwrangle’s latest invention, the Inter-Dimensional Shift Device, which, at the press of a button, will shift the world around them to an entirely new dimension. In order to find him, players must use the newly found IDS Device to dynamically change the world to and from a variety of different dimensions to progress through the complicated Quadwrangle Manor.

Game of Thrones — Created in partnership with author George R. R. Martin, this role-playing adventure is inspired by the author’s award-winning, international bestselling A Song of Ice and Fire fantasy series (better known under its first book’s title, A Game of Thrones.)

Frogger: Hyper Arcade Edition — Frogger’s coin-op thrills are back and better than ever in Frogger: Hyper Arcade Edition! The arcade excitement of Frogger returns in time for its 30th anniversary celebrations with updates that are sure to delight fans old and new.

Get Up and Dance — Get Up And Dance is the ultimate dancing game for everyone to play, whether you are the star performer or prefer to stay out of the limelight as a backing dancer, Get Up And Dance is for you. Featuring everything from classic funky disco tracks to current chart hits, all complete with their official videos, there’s something for everyone to enjoy!

I sure wish there were prices listed. The ‘ol B-Day is on Tuesday and I’d like to know how much to ask the birthday fairy for. Excellent releases!

  • Great releases! But for me… well, I’m waiting for Tony Hawk HD, and… There’s no news.

  • seems like a legit list. i m interested in quantic conundrum. my kids liked portal, but it was a bit above them (7 and 5). i think QC might be a little more accessible for them.

  • Never heard of that PS2 motorcycle racer. Will have to do some research.
But my all-time wish is for Polyphony Digital to either re-master in HD the amazing Tourist Trophy, or release a new version based on GT5.
Unfortunately it would probably take them 6 more years.

  • A NEWER UPDATED PS-3 SOON.. Maybe a better browser, more cloud storage ,a color option, updated wi-fi ,made in america ( ya right ) need mo details plz lol

  • OK, if we are going to keep uploading Disney-themed PSOne Classics, at least bring us Donald Duck Goin’ Quackers (a decent Crash knockoff).

That said, when should we expect more classic PSOne goodness from other series (wouldn’t say No to Mega Man titles or Dragon Quest VII)?

And while we know the PSVita is due to get its update for the support of PSOne titles, though I do have a few questions:

1.) Will it be emulated as if it was a PSP/mini title?
2.) Will it allow screen shots to be taken?
3.) Will you still be allowed to modify the button layouts?
4.) Will the formerly PS3-only PSOne titles be playable on the Vita (ie – Pocket Fighters and Alone in the Dark)?

    Thanks!

  • Quantum Conundrum and Rainbow Moon should both be about 15$. But that’s just my thought based on Quantum Conundrum pc costing 15$. Fairly sure i’ve heard Rainbow Moon as costing 15.

  • Mickey Mania? I thought the PSX version only came out in PAL regions…

    Are you sure that’s right?

  • hoping for Resistance Retribution to be able to download on PS Vita at some point.

  • Really want to see a price drop for saint’s row the third…

  • Mickey? How about Die Hard Trilogy, Return Fire, MDK, Soul Blade, and Tenchu.

Also firmware for invisible sign in and categorized download history. Acknowledgment would be nice.

  • StealthReborn--

Rainbow Moon for me this week, can’t wait! =)

  • Where is the digital version of London 2012 Olympic Games?? The UK store already has it!

  • So, is Rainbow Moon gonna get ported to Vita or not? I’d prefer to play it on the Vita and don’t want to end up buying the game twice.

  • Blackheart10111

Rainbow Moon I can’t wait to play. I also hope Way of the Samurai 4 is coming out sometime soon. That and One Piece.

  • they need to get GTA San Andreas on psn… that would be legit

  • ALPHABETICAL SORTING OF PSN GAMES!!!!!!!!!!!!

when we get?! Come on, I’m OCD and I freaking hate it that I cannot sort my PSN games by title. Alphabetical sorting is the most common way of sorting things. I mean, come on, SERIOUSLY? Why do we not have this?

  • whos in charge of putting the ps2 classics on the store…. theyre doing a kinda bad job …. i dont think anyone wants that ps2 classic

  • Knuckles5OO (#8), that’s right, the PlayStation version of the game was never released in North America. So, this is essentially an “import” game that’s finally appearing here after all of these years.

  • Looking forward to playing Rainbow Moon!

  • Mickey Mania!? This is awesome. I’ve been thinking about getting a copy on SNES or Genesis for a while now because its one of the only Mickey games I’m missing.

If I remember right, the PS1 version was never even released in the US, so this is awesome indeed.

  • Rainbow Moon for me this week. I love traditional RPGs, and with the Plus discount, can’t pass it up. I just hope it lives up the the hype. . .

  • cmon sony times a waisting release all those ps vita apps allready

  • Again nothing for portable users. nothing vita or psp wise. Good to see A Game of Thrones getting a digitally release though. I have it physically because it came with an artbook. Other than that nothing really special this week, nothing for me at least although i cant remember the last time i was excited for an Update. Just saying since there is nothing scheduled for July it would be a great time to not only release some psp and ps1 titles (good ones) but to also discount on said psp and ps1 titles. it was nice for Atlus to do your work last week, so where are the more sales, or releases on ps1 and psp titles?

  • OMG, I’m drowning in a tidal wave of Vita content! Oh wait, forget it–it’s exactly the opposite of that.

  • Probably grab Mickey Mania: The Timeless Adventures of Mickey Mouse but can you let us know what the other discounts may be? There’s always a good amount of discounts every Tuesday for PSP games that aren’t announced on the blog.

  • Looking forward to Rainbow Moon….hopefully it will live up to the hype. PLUS as others have already mentioned alphabetical sorting is sorely needed. i have over 1500 in my list and if something gets corrupted and i have to find it again….it takes me anywhere from 20 minutes on up to 45 minutes….that’s insane….!! And SONY might say….well just re-download it from the store —-> guess what….there are many games missing from the store like Journey, TMNT, Tak 2, Sponge Bob The Movie….and so on (there are many more). What happens to these games anyways and why are they pulled….?? Just curious.

  • Nice Drop….but could I get Baldur’s Gate Dark Alliance 1&2? and Kinetica, Psi-ops, Manhunt, Champions of Norrath, Samurai Legend Musashi, Brave Fencer Musashi, Tekken 3, Legacy Of Kain Defiance, Dynasty Warriors 3 (COME AT ME HATERS), Okage Shadow King, Viewtiful Joe 1&2, Drakengard 1&2, Jade Cocoon 2, Shinobi, Blood Will Tell. Some Gundam Games, War of The Monsters and some other games?

  • I would like that alot.

  • BTW – the first 2 DLC packs for Magic The Gathering 2012 have been missing for several months now – where did they go….??

  • OH! and Kingdom Hearts 1&2…even though I already…have…them……Why can’t my Ps3 play these games again?

  • I don’t normally comment on here, and I make critical comments even less often, but the Vita really is in a bad place. How can anyone justify purchasing this machine when you (Sony) are not supporting it? It is taking an unreasonable amount of time to give it the functionality that was advertised, games for the system are few, and of course, operating restrictions apply. It’s the PSP all over again. How could you make all the same mistakes twice? Sorry for the rant, everyone. I just really want Vita owners to get their due.

  • i want a new camera this ones to old time to come with a new dont you think that is interactive like Konect

  • And im still waiting for Suikoden2 ,3,4,5

  • wow ,no VITA love ,again!!!

  • you guys should release world of illusion:mickey and donald that game gives me good memories from the past :) or the same thing for what #6 ask for (dragon quest monsters will be nice but it was for GBcolor…-_- )

  • #27 Farmer

Nice Drop….but could I get Baldur’s Gate Dark Alliance 1&2?

HELLZ TO THE MOTHER FREAKING YEAH, I WANT THOSE SEW BADLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Never got a chance to play BG:DA2.

  • Is there any chance that we see a Price Drop on Resident evil 5 Gold Edition or Portal 2? Thanks!

  • Blackheart10111

@Farmer-Willis what do you know about Dynasty Warriors lol. But on a serious note I doubt they’ll release that cause they put some of the campaigns on the latest one as DLC.

  • Mickey Mania is a surprise as I read it was only released in Europe. I remember playing this on the Sega Genesis so I will picking this up, having never beaten it.

  • rainbow moon it is for me then :0

  • #35 Neuropunk
Man it is awesome…..So cool. It really should come out.

    #37 Blackheart10111
Thanks for the tip, I know what i’m buying next.

  • will the pre order of ncaa 13 be available at midnight tuesday morning or will i have to wait until the store updates?

  • Lets get a price drop for Battlefield 3 down to 50% off for plus members and 50% off for all the add on’s as well. Also get Nascar 2011 on psn for download for crying out loud as well as Dirt 2 as well. Then I will be a happy camper.

  • I still want alphabetical sorting of my psn games. no excuse for this not to have happened by now.

  • Suikoden II plz :)

I’d also love some ps2 rpgs on the store,, but a while ago, I just ended up buying a ps2 and a bunch of games, now my ps3 is collecting dust until Legasista comes out

  • another horrible update to vita -__- at least they could have added more psp titles >:o

  • Rainbow Moon for me but Ill wait a while before I play it. Im giving them my money, hoping that they will port it over with the profits. PLEASE GUYS support indie these guys so that they can port it to the VITA.

  • It seems like all I’m getting this week is the last of the Gravity Rush DLC, I would probably get Rainbow Moon if it were on the Vita as well

  • cant wait for these games this week awsome week for these great games cant wait any freebies! thanks for the games this week!
