“Dyad is one of the true must-play PSN releases of t2012. Grab the demo and give this game a try if you’re on the fence”

I don’t see a demo listed here, and checked the store and didn’t see it.

  • * Suggestion for the PS Store:

I’ve mentioned this before, but I’d like others to take a look and provide feedback:

I would like to see the contents of the store in the Video Unlimited preview app UI. Take advantage of not only the better interface, but also the categories and ways to link content – both games and videos.

  • Escape Plan demo cant wait to try this game out, and Rainbow Moon for ps3 gotta love playstation plus discounts

  • PrimeroIncognito

Morgan, if you could, please, I’d like a couple things explained that currently confuse me.

Why are you saying a demo for Dyad was on the radar, but pulled at the last minute? Who made that decision? More imporantly, WHY was that decision made? How can you have plans lined up for days or even weeks that always get changed at the last minute? This happens a lot…

First of all, the demo for Dyad does exist, but you have to buy the game to use it. Isn’t that silly? (This also happens a lot.) And second, I don’t know if you’re subscribing to the erroneous theory that demos lead to a decrease in sales, but it’s seems to be the opposite.

  • Please add the feature to ALPHABETIZE PSN DOWNLOADED GAMES!!!!!!!!!!

    For seriously.

  • PrimeroIncognito

Many people (myself included), will just not take a chance on spending $15 or even $10 on an unknown title. We realize there’s a possibility we may not like it, after which, we’d be mad at ourselves for spending that money on what we didn’t like, rather than saving it for something we really want. However, if we can get some hands-on time with it, and if we like it, there’s no doubt we’d feel comfortable making the purchase… which would mean MORE SALES for PSN and the developer. And anyone who doesn’t like the demo probably wouldn’t have bought the game anyway without a demo. Right?

Maybe there’s a lot of impulse buyers out there who buy things without trying them first, and perhaps this is where the majority of your sales and revenue come from, but taking advantage of these types of people just for a quick buck isn’t really an honorable way to conduct business, if you care about that kind of thing. If the product is good, it will sell itself anyway. You have belief in the quality of your products, right? No need for short-handed tactics, correct?

Anyway, I’m not complaining, I’m just curious about how the whole thing works, and wanted to get my thoughts out.

  • I hope DYAD does well. It looks good and a lot of promotion seems to be going into it. If I didn’t have a ton of PSN games sill to playthrough, I’d definitely pick this up today.

  • So I tried the Escape Plan Demo once again and I got the same error message. It reads that there was an error and the code is (C2-12828-1) I have to imagine this is a problem that others are having as well. Do you have any troubleshooting tips for this problem? Or at least let the store guys know haha Thank you very much :)

  • Morgan, can you find out if Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 for the vita will be on sale?

  • PrimeroIncognito

I may end up purchasing Dyad anyway, simply because it does really look interesting and like my type of game. It reminds me of N2O on PSone, which was a favorite of mine back in the day (although it hasn’t aged well, and is no longer a favorite of mine, heh.)

Perhaps this game can be the new psychedelic tunnel racing/shooter fix I’ve been subconsciously craving for years… but no demo being available is really turning me off from it, and will most likely end up making me decide to wait for the eventual demo or wait for a sale in a few months…

Wouldn’t you rather have my $14.99 now? Holding the demo back for a few weeks makes no sense at all, in my mind.

  • I was going to buy MLB 12 The Show for the Vita today because of the price drop, but the price hasn’t changed on the PS Store. Is this a mistake, or was there no intention of lowering the digital price at this point?

  • Come on Morgan…
I am starting to lose faith in you Sony guys and Sony…
I am ok not to have many new Vita games, other plataforms are not getting too, and all,
but why still C2-12828-1 on the Escape Plan demo? It’s not fixed man.

  • @ estoc1 Why don’t you put the wii mote up your arse? You don’t even have an avatar you noob, you are a troll using your alt trolling account. Go get laid kiddo. If Sony dies gaming dies easy as that.

  • @+ Luis_ces the Escape plan demo works fine..no problems on my end

  • Avatar request:

    Dragon Age avatars
    Dragon Ball Z avatars
    Sonic avatars
    Star Wars avatars
    Lord of the rings avatars

  • I love PS plus but it should be for PS3 only… I don’t own a Vita and never will. I think it’s complete bull sh$t to waste PS plus content on vita crap!!!! If I wanted discounts and free games for the vita then I would buy Vita plus… Hey Morgan relay the message to Sony that there should be a separate perk subscription for vita users and not invade PS plus with vita crap!!!!

  • quick question; If you buy Hustle Kings for the PS Plus price of $4.89, do you get both versions for just the one payment? Also, how long does the sale last?

  • + PHISHMANIAC on July 17th, 2012 at 5:03 pm said:

What content was wasted? Care to elaborate? What do you care, since you don’t own a vita and never will if vita owners who also are plus members receive additional discounts on select software. How does this impact what’s offered on the ps3? Oh, wait, it doesn’t.

  • @165+Street_Killaz, I feel happy for you man, but some other people
also is still having problem with that. Are you on 1.69 firmware? that’s the one giving trouble.
I reebooted Vita, nothing, checked to see if the app would update, and nothing.
    Still getitng the C2-12828-1 error.

  • Escape Plan demo is still not working for me either. Same error code. Little help?

  • when are we getting the resistance burning skies pre order avatars
    (PLEASE REPLY)

  • Nothing interesting this week, still waiting for PSone and PS2 classics (I’m a retro gamer kind of guy you know lol).

  • GTA VIce City Stories should be added to the ps vita marketplace too!

  • Can you please pass on the word to Rockstar or whoever to bring GTA Chinatown Wars to Vita with touch controls again? Please..
It’s on two other platforms with touch controls so they could probably do it blindfolded, plus it may make them and Sony some extra cash before GTA V.

  • I’m glad Record Of Agarest War 2 is on the network, and with a free one-hour trial too, that’s great! Might be giving that one a try. Also, the Escape Plan demo for PS Vita is good too, very nice. I’m not sure about Dyad, but we’ll see, but one thing’s for sure, remember to take a 10-15 break per hour of gameplay. It sure looks like a wild one for your eyes and brain ;)

  • Morgan Haro “you never need a credit card on file to have PS Plus” The last preview I had wouldn’t activate without a CC so was that just for the preview of plus if it was I might just have to purchase the one year subscription.

    • ah. many of the 1 month trials that we distribute from time to time to require a credit card; however the subscription at hand can be purchased with just regular $$ from your wallet. either 3 month or 1 month should be able to be purchased with wallet $$.

    • ah, yeah some of the special 1 month trials do require a credit card. but the main 3 month and 1 years on the PS Store, or even at Retail outlets for that matter, do not require a credit card.

  • New Soul Calibur 5 DLC today… WOW wasn’t expecting that. Good to see NEW stuff here. Keep em’ Coming!

  • @crimsonsoulz,

Hell yeah! I’m glad I’m not the only one wanting see a bit of a discount on DXHR’s DLC, I always hope when I check in one day I’ll see a bit of discount–especially if we’re Plus members. But every time, nada. Is it a publisher’s decision or what.

Also, I have to say while I’m happy to see some discount on Vita titles , it’s still rather disappointing it’s on ‘sport titles’ that of which I’m not really interested on. But I’m hoping as weeks go on we’ll see more.

  • when will dragonball z budikia tenchiechi 3 will be on ps2 list it was the best dragonballz game ever

  • is Crysis 2 Maximum Edition just for limited time before it becomes crysis 2 without the DLC,or is it here to stay ?

  • @Morgan. No, no, no, no!!! Estoc1 account should be ban…………do it. lol.

  • @169 yes it does matter Sony might not offer something the could have for ps3 because they wasted an offering on vita crap…. They should have a vita plus for you guys who do own a vita…when I signed up for PS plus it was for playstation games not vita games. Again if you could relay this to the rest of the team Morgan I’m sure lots of people feel the same. I know I have seen others voicing this same issue. Make a vita plus subscription set apart from ps plus subscription.

    • Plus on PS Vita would need to be thought out very carefully. But rest assured, if it were “one Plus to rule them all” it would not have an effect on the console’s program.

  • @169 there are three vita games with ps plus discounts this week in the psn store… I’m sure those 3 games cut out 3 ps3 games that could have had discounts… I care because I spend alot of money in the psn store so I think it gives me the right to voice my opinion, and lots of others opinion too I’m sure.

  • Does Pac-Man championship edition mini work on Vita yet?

  • I don’t post here often, but I visit every week and I would like to say that 1) every week you guys should be releasing more PSP games that are compatible to work with the Vita. If we’re gonna have this drought of releases, then I feel that it becomes especially important to beef up the back catalogue of the system by doing this.

Secondly, falling in line with this notion, I don’t understand how it is that some games don’t work on the Vita only in certain regions. Patapon 3 works on the Vita if it’s bought from the EU store, but somehow it’s not on the compatibility list in NA. That is insane. They are the same machine, coming from the same company and the game is published by you guys at Sony. It’s really frustrating because I love Patapon (similar sentiments are expressed with MGS Peace Walker, for example) and I cannot think of a legit reason as to why this isn’t available.

As for Peace Walker, I maybe can understand why this wasn’t included in the MGS HD collection (size concerns, game already available for PSP, etc), but if it’s not going to be in the collection, shouldn’t the PSP version be made available for Vita?

  • Well thanks for the reply Morgan I hope your right about plus not taking away from ps3 games for vita games… Time will tell I suppose…. Has anyone tried game of thrones yet? I am on the fence.. But I loved the books and show…

  • Pretty good update this week, I’m considering buying Dyad, and I want to get virtua tennis and hustle kings for vita. Morgan, how long will the Vita game sales last?

  • I know it has been said several times already, but thanks for the PS Vita sale prices!! I’ll have to test out Hot Shots, as I’ve never been much for golf games, but at $5, Hustle Kings is a no brainer. I’m still waiting for PS1 compatibility, but for now, the recognition that Vita owners need something to cheer up about while waiting for the next big game is worth quite a bit.

  • this kinda sucks. I literally just bought MVC 2 at the full price 72 hours ago, and then they lower the price. already placed a refund request, but i am alil dissappointed by this…hope the playstation network gods can grant my request and refund the difference of my full purchase.

  • love the retro arcade games available online. X MEN arcade rocks!!! wouldn’t mind seeing the old SPIDERMAN arcade game. the one with spidey, namor, hawkeye, and black cat!!!!

  • Will motorstorm pacific rift dlc ever become free?

  • So, the Dyad demo mysteriously goes AWOL, likely until after the initial sale period is over?

    I call “shenanigans”…of the bean-counting variety.

You’re sure? Really? So, what ps3 games were cut out, since you’re so sure? And tell me, what ps3 games last week had discounts? After all, last week there were no vita discounts, so last week should have had all sorts of ps3 game discounts by your logic.

  • @161, releasing demos is a mixed bag. For instance, the Uncharted demo severely hurt sales. Then again Escape Plan didn’t need a demo & turned out to be a success (although once the demo for it now gets sorted out I’m sure it would lead to more sales), so I would read critically reviews & watch some vids before buying a game w/out a demo. Anyways, maybe it was a mis-print?

@170, did you try deleting & redownloading the demo?

  • a) Thanks for making an ‘On Sale’ tab in the Vita store. I hope it stays in the future and is moved to the front of the store instead of under the (I assume) temporary ‘The Games’ tab. Given that it seems themed around sports, which I assume is because of the Olympics.

    b) Thanks for adding some PS Vita and PSP sales for PS+ members.

    c) I’d like a sort option on the Vita and PS3 stores for price. Being able to find content for under $5 when you have under $5 would be great. Same with other price ranges.

  • @183: lulz, “when I signed up for PS plus it was for playstation games not vita games.”

That’s exactly what you get even with your own logic behind why you signed up. PlayStation 3… PlayStation Vita…

    ie: PlayStation games.

Anyhoo, you and anyone else bawwing over it are just making a baseless assumptions about it.

There’s no way to know for sure if demos hurt game sales. When someone plays a demo and decides against buying a game, there’s still no way to prove that they would’ve bought it otherwise. It can’t truly be chalked up as a “lost sale”. But you can definitely witness evidence of a demo convincing a person to BUY a game that they otherwise might have passed on.

That specific example you gave with Uncharted doesn’t really represent much more than speculation. Unless there was a poll that asked people who played the demo if it caused them to decide for or against purchasing the full game, this means nothing. Maybe when the publishers were analyzing numbers trying to determine exactly why they didn’t meet sales expectations, they could have ASSUMED that the demo had something to do with it, but you can’t lean on such a flimsy theory.

But none of this explains why the demo was prepped for release and then retracted at the last minute. Once you commit to something, you just have to go with it.

  • Even though there’s not any brand new content for the Vita this week, I’m glad the the PS+ discounts are final on the Vita games! Hopefully the next PS+ perk for the Vita is Automatic Updates like the PS3. That would be sweet!

“I literally just bought MVC 2 at the full price 72 hours ago, and then they lower the price.”

I’ve had that happen to me in the past… twice. After that, I just made my own personal rule to never make purchases on the store past Thursday. If I get an urge to buy a certain game on the store and it’s somewhere between Friday and Monday, I just hold off until Tuesday, just in case it goes on sale. If it doesn’t go on sale, then I just go ahead and buy it anyway.

  • @FORMIK

I agree, VooFoo seems to make some great games. I love Hustle kings. My only complaint about it is that when me and my gf tried playing 2 player against each other it wanted us to use the same controller. We had to keep switching the setting to controller 1 in order to play 2 player. Morgan, can you maybe pass the word along to VooFoo about this glitch? I sent them an email, but never got a reply back. I love the game though. I love how developers are releasing crossplay games that you can play on ps3,and vita for one low price. It’s brilliant. Twice the fun for the same price.
