  • Sony isn’t making synergies between the ps3 and psvita for nothing. Sony’s single biggest demographic of potential vita owners are existing ps3 owners. Those aren’t my words, those are from sony.

“With PlayStation Vita Sony is targeting men in their 20s who play video games eight hours a week or more and own a PlayStation 3.”

“The Vita is also almost entirely selling to PS3 owners, something Koller kept emphasizing as he described the Vita as, more or less, a portable home console.”

Likewise, on my friends list, one individual who bought a psvita then bought a ps3 and then became a playstation plus member. So, it works in reverse, too, the vita can sell a ps3.

Those who don’t like this intermingling of the dna pool, well, tough, get used to it. Sony wants a unified playstation ecosystem.

  • Sony, please release more PSP games for the PS Vita. I don’t have a PS3 so I can’t transfer them and I’ve been dying to play MGS Peacewalker on the Vita since they didn’t include it in the HD collection.

Why this isn’t on the store is beyond me. It works and has for a while. You can map camera controls over to the rightstick. Should be on the store, isn’t, and no explanation as to why it isn’t. I don’t get it, I really don’t.

  • just wanna say thank you for doing a good job with what you have PSN group. you have a good thing going here
… I just hate to see how people, you guys try to please, treat you.. I have never seen or have had an experience with a corporation that looks out for the consumer the way you guys do… that being said, keep up the good work and dont rush nothing if its not ready.

can I get a Fat princess discount? thats all…

P.S Dyad is amazing! … a great way to counter spelunky

    • a Fat Princess Discount for PS Plus would be a pretty neat way to tie into the upcoming Battle Royale All Stars. I like the idea, I’ll suggest it. thanks!

  • “Why this isn’t on the store is beyond me”

probably because konami wants it optimized for dual analogs. …you really want 2 analogs

  • hmm… what “EXACTLY” is Dyad? it looks like a ton of colors flying around as some sort of visual music player.

also, WHERE ARE THE SONIC AVATARS?! if i had at least one, it would complete me.

  • Well I took the dive off the chance of not knowing and bought a wifi vita, 8 gig card since its all they had in stock and the vita 20 dollar bag and it all came to 300 even. No sales tax out here in Montana. I have been on it for HOURS and finally so far I’m loving it so far. I see no screen defects that I saw on the 2nd vita I bought and returned back in May and this is my 3rd vita and so far the best one so far. No major bugging screen defects on this one that my picky eyes can see so far lol. I’m in the process of downloading the free games and demos from it. I bet I could get that done faster off my ps3 but I’m too glues to the vita over my wifi LMAO. I knew it was a great system and I was hard on it but now I have the best of both handheld words. The vita and the ipod touch but I bet a iphone is better than a ipod. I wouldn’t know I never had a iphone. I’m loving the vita so far. Well worth my 300 bucks so far! Now I need some good games. The youtube app was cool. Not bad sony not bad at all. Just needs a upload vita feature and BAM it would be better than my ipod one. Pretty snazzy I have to say. I’m a happy camper and that’s rare on these blogs lmao.

  • just got the psp nba 2k12 for my vita and i am enjoying it thx for dropping the price for ps+ users Sony…..now all i need is my ps1 classic MGSsolid please add this to the vita….soon im looking forward to the summer sale of counterstrike GO …….august cant come fast enough 4 me……keep it up Sony give us even more games for the vita,,,,lets keep it rolling

  • @Renegade, yes, I recognize you, you’re the one with lots of different accounts who has been denigrating the Vita, Sony & those of us who have loved our Vitas from day 1. You were quite the rude ranter, which, to your partial credit, you partially admit in your comment # 208.

Honestly, I was wondering what happened to you since you stopped posting under your other couple gamer tags. So, before you return to your old ways, I recommend the Lego Vita games for your kids. I think they’d love them. I have 2 Lego Harry Potter (one is a PSP game) & Lego Batman 2.

  • bad bad, escape plan demo for the psvita still doesnt work out,WHAT’S WRONG??? :/

  • Definitely getting DYAD!

  • FF Crisis Core and KH Birth By Sleep please

I will keep bringing this up until I get a response. I don’t care if I seem obnoxious. Square has said the problem lies on YOUR side Sony. I can’t see why Square would hold anything back from the PSN, seeing as how their entire catalog is up there.

I WANT Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep or at least a response.

Seriously just hire a team of ten people to work on optimizing games for the Vita. Games like Crisis Core, Chinatown Wars, Birth By Sleep, Peace Walker,

CONTINUE MY RANT WITH MORE GAMES. LET SONY HEAR.
    you better respond!

  • Hi Morgan,

Any word at all on a date for Vita Firmware 1.8? It was announced a couple weeks ago that this would be the update that brings PS1 support to the system, but we haven’t heard a word since then about it. Is it coming soon? Also, since several sites report different things about this, will the support be trickled out to titles or will all PS1 games be compatible at the time of the firmware release? I’ve got several games I’ve been holding out on playing because of waiting for this firmware!

    Thanks!

  • Morgan, I am a PS+ member and I just purchased Hustle Kings for the PS3 and was charged $6.99 and got both the PS3 and Vita versions not realizing this game was also listed under Vita games for $4.89 which also gives you the PS3 version. Why are they priced differently? Had I know the PS3 version was included with the Vita version I could have spent $4.89 instead of $6.99. Was this an oversight or just a sneaky way of getting an extra 2 bucks from PS3 people.

  • I have a couple questions, some that may be difficult to answer. On the Japanese PSN store I’ve seen that there are a higher volume of PSone and PS2 classics, and I’m wondering why the NA store doesn’t get quite as many, especially for ones that have been released over here. Also, are there any further plans to release major PSone and PS2 releases that will likely never see an HD rerelease? Many games are difficult to come by these days because of their rarity and price and I don’t see why publishers and developers sit on the library they have when they could be making some money, rather than leaving it up to pirates to use ROMs/ISOs and Emus to play the games.

  • NASCAR The Game 2011 is now available in all EU PSN Stores for €9.99 / £7.99.

EXCEPT the PSN Store in which it will actually sell. The US Store. Please explain this to me.

Europeans don’t even watch NASCAR, yet they get this amazing deal.

As I shake my head I wonder if sony really knows what the heck they are doing.

Put NTG 2011 on the US Store for $10 PLEASE!!

  • It’s like putting a cricket game only on the US Store and not in the markets where people actually take an interest in that sport.
Why u don’t like money Sony?

  • Hello

On July 11th I received an email congratulating me on a fifty dollar PSN card I had won thanks to completing a survey sent to me via email. When I went to use the twelve digit card code I was informed it did not work. Can you please send me a code that works. I am looking forward to spending my winnings on some of the exciting content on the Playstation Store.

    Thank you

  • I see that a bunch of games just got added to the PSP Vita store. PLEASE add Portable Ops. I’ve just got it sitting on my PS3 and have no way to play it.

It works on the PAL store so why not the NTSC?

  • NEO•GEO STATION
How much longer is this going to remain in the “Featured PSN” area?
Playmore has seemed to have given up on it.

As an owner of the original NG system in ’90 I was buying them all on the PS3.

I’ve suggested many ideas to Playmore on their Facebook page (perhaps this isn’t the best way, but they largely ignore their fanbase). I feel some very simple changes could help them in a big way.

    1. Lower the prices to $5 each. Just because the originals cost $200+ is no reason to change nearly $10 for the digital version.

    2. Add Trophy support. New games without them come across as lazy or MINI’s. It also gives added value for most people.

    3. Add new games!! Since the original 10 NGS games in 2010 they’ve only added another 8 games and it’s been over a year.

    4. Add a switch option for AES (home system) and MVS (arcade).
Each and every game ROM already has this programmed into it and again, more value for the player.

    5. Unlockable extras. This is of course optional, but it’s clear by their FB posts that they have some very cool scanned materials in the way of unused artwork, flyers, and more. Neo•Geo fans love this stuff. Why not add it to the games as unlockables?!

  • @198, PrimeroIncognito- looks like we disagree. I recall reading how Naughty Dog & some media journalists mentioned that the demo did them more harm than good. & yes, they analyze everything- every bit of data (I mean, as a business, wouldn’t you?). I know they are NOT the first to see a demo backfire. Do I think a demo should be released w/ every game? No, as new content is often spurred by hype, reviews, videos, word of mouth, diehard fans, etc… in the end, the consumer makes the final decision.

Again, maybe it was a mis-print. Sony can retract anything they print through their disclaimer- no point in dwelling. As a fellow gamer, trust in the reviews being uploaded now, read up on the – or the + of the title & make a informed decision. Dyad has been well received so far; I would make the jump.

  • hey guy
for ps vita add the game naruto ultimate ninja storm impact which was on the psp its a great game and i would enjoy it if you didI please answer this comment

  • So I decide I want virtua tennis for the vita, and I have a plus membership, so i waited 3 weeks to see if there was any sort of drop in price, couldn’t find it retail anywhere eiher. So i buy it, 2weeks later this 50% discount comes out!!!! Ugh I lost 20 bucks, guess I’ll wait longer to buy

  • where gta liberty city stories …. the guys from the podcast said that was coming out this tuesday…. oh well

  • ah i just saw it, its there its just not here :)

  • Any idea when Tony Hawk pro Skater HD will be available on PSN?? I thought it was supposed to come out yesterday yet it only came out for xbox…

  • @ 221 SpooNManX

    Completely agreed!
Morgan you should reply to this guy saying at least that you’ll suggest the idea.
And thanks for replying mine. Balance is the key.

  • @ the guy who commented about Nascar 2011 being on the psn store in other countries already for a very low sale price right now pisses me off cause us here in the USA where the sport is at and a LOT of fans of the sport that supports it are here mostly as well and you go on and put it digitally on psn in other countries first before here where the sport is at was not right. I have been in these blogs weekly complaining about wanting the digital version of Nascar 2011 on the usa psn store. Yet you ignore my questions and complaining on it and yet its been in the psn store this whole time just not in the usa? What a slap in Nascar’s face and mine cause I’m a huge NASCAR fan and watch it weekly and been standing on my heels in excitement to be able to buy this digital and thinking it will never come to digital and yet its been digital but not at all for us in america where the dang sport is at and would receive tons of psn sells for it and yet its not here on sale. Thanks for being american to us with a american sport by selling it to countries that don’t care for it. Makes lots of sense huh Sony!

  • Since the cat is out of the bag about Nascar 2011 being digital in other countries and on slae for a very low price I will not shut up about this. GET IT HERE IN AMERICA cause that’s bullcrap its not digital here. Morgan you have way more connections than we do with the developers and can you PLEASE spread the word that us AMERICANS would love a change to buy the digital copy as well to OUR american sport. Its not fair we can’t buy it digital but other countries can. You guys really need to change sony psn around and combine us all together on psn and stop separating the stores around the globe. Why are we all seperated anyways on buying store content I mean hell we all play online together, they don’t split us to play with only our country so why you split on on the psn STORES? Makes no sense and if frustrating.

  • I mean every single country has their own set psn and ps home. Why can’t you just combine us all into one psn store that is the same for everyone so that not one country gets screwed from cool plus deals another country would get and it swaps off and on every month. Just combine us to one single account and just have it were the money currency is right for their set country but the store is the same for everyone around the globe. Stop splitting the shopping store apart. Its stupid. One month we get spoiled in usa and other countries get nothing and then the next month they get stuff like nascar 2011 digital and we don’t. Its just not right and stupid to tell ya the truth.

  • @213

In terms of KH:BBS, I heard there was an issue regarding Disney and them wanting to control the avenue by which their content is distributed or something like that, which is why even when the game originally came out, it was never made available on PSN. It’s unfortunate, I know, but it is what it is. In terms of Crisis Core, I agree. Sony just needs a team of people consistently working around the clock to pump out compatibility for the older titles. It’s not simply a matter of “People only care about backward compatibility because they don’t have enough new content .” I know I personally want to go back to some of those older titles because I never got a chance to finish them on my PSP or now that I have a new device that they should work on, which could potentially make the game better (using the second analog, for instance), I would like to go down that avenue to experience my older titles. Sony needs to be working to have EVERY digital PSP game, past and present, to work on the Vita.

  • i have three questions for sony
    1) sony recently said that the number one request for vita was more games. ok then why doesn’t sony include the vita in it’s playstation plus program and give vita users free psp games? that would give the vita some content until new games came out.

2)sony also said that devopers would have to write code into there games to allow remote play on the vita. if that’s the case and sony was concerned about this why doesn’t sony write code for the older ps3 games developed in house so that they would work with remote play?

3)why does sony insist on having a broken web browser on the vita (no flash support) is it a licensing issue, if it is im sure vita user’s would pay to have a full blown browser. or is it because sony doesn’t want vita user’s to play those free flash games floating around? (how would sony profit on that?)

  • DYAD DEMO:
I really think it was a bad decision to cut the demo from this week’s releases.
Considering the paid version is simply the demo packaged with the key makes me feel like they are purposely withholding it until the sale is over.

Customers don’t like paying $15 (or so) on a “mystery game”.

If the company is proud of their creation then let us sample it in a demo. We can read reviews and watch videos
all day, but there is nothing like a demo to get an idea of what the game is like.

  • Morgan Haro, I am a big fan of Sony Entertainment but lately I have been very displeased with the Vita in a whole. When it was realeased it was So Called the best console of the year by Sony. I like many others in my house hold were as it seems lied to. We have expected big games To come out for Vita but so far it seems like a regular PSP with two cameras added. It was marketed that it would have amazeing apps added to it, So far you have only givin us Skype and Youtube. But Im not here to complain, I very much love my vita just like every other system I own of sony like my Sony tv, PS3, PS2, and PS1. But my biggest question when shall we as a Sony’s fans expect more of Vita’s dominance over other systems begin. bc right now it seems like it is just “another system of sony”

  • Please continue supporting Twisted Metal PS3.

Please support the possibility of TM PS3 DLC:
    http://www.groubal.com/twisted-metal-dlc-from-eat-sleep-play-and-sony/#signatures

  • Anyone else have problems downloading Record of Agarest War 2? I’ve tried downloading it 3 times, and it keeps stopping at around 66-67% then freezes and crashes my PS3. I realize the game is 14 GB so maybe thats why, but if it’s a store error, please fix it.

  • Will they do DLC for D&D Daggerfall?

  • @Morgan could you please comment on the Escape Plan demo for Vita? It is still giving myself and plenty of others the C2-12828-1 error. I uninstalled and redownloaded it, but it still gives the same error it always has. Even if you have no info on the subject, it’d just be nice to know that you’re at least aware of the issue and passing it on. Very frustrating that Vita is always treated as second class.

Also, what’s with Sony and cryptic error codes? PSP, PS3 and Vita all give codes instead of just telling you what went wrong. Usually one has to look to third party sources to find a list of what the codes mean.

  • I actually had to get my PS Plus through my dad’s account til I changed my settings. My PS Plus end on the release day of Resident Evil 6 which will suck if it’ll be any PS Plus release add-ons. But what the PSOne classic Crash Bash? Other Crash games are up where is the full collection? When there be new PS3 Full Games for PS Plus?

  • I would like to see ps1 games be downloadable and playable on the vita. is there any news on that?

  • @239 Yes there are plans for that, Sony announced that it should be available sometime in the summer

  • I like the addition of bundles and Japanese RPGs. Keep up the good work Sony. hopefully we get more JRPGs.

  • I didn’t bother checking the store update until today because you haven’t given me a reason to even expect anything for me to check in on (IE: I actually support your handhelds and don’t own a PS3). That being said, this week’s update is very nice (but that is only because most of the previous weeks were horrible (excluding the ATLUS sale of course)). Now the main thing you need to do is to keep this up.

Remember that there are people who only have your handhelds and ask “Are they going to be happy with this update?”. One good week does not mean I forget the fact that most weeks suck, but it does give me hope and keeps me checking in.

I’ll keep my fingers crossed that next week is going to be as good as this week, but my expectations are very low.

  • is rainbow moon worth getting?

  • I’m assuming this is a bug (a terrible trolling bug :P), but my PS Store says that the Ratchet Trilogy is for the PS Vita when it comes up on the homepage. But when I check the actual Vita section, it’s not there. I got so dang exited but yeah… my hopes are faaar too high haha.

  • thanks for the discount on ps vita games, hoping for more discount especially on plants versus zombies please

  • If i bought “PS Vita Game – Hustle Kings (50% off) – $4.89”, could i download ps3 version too? Its instantly or i have to activate via vita that download?
