The Drop: Week of July 23rd 2012 New Releases

Coming to PS3 this week, adidas miCoach brings the popular miCoach interactive athletic training system to the PlayStation 3. Many of the world’s most well-known adidas athletes are featured in the game, including Dwight Howard, Kaká, Tyson Gay, Jessica Ennis, Ana Ivanović and Eric Berry, and they will guide users through a wide selection of sport-specific personalized training programs.

On PSN, experience a brilliantly designed physics-based puzzle/platform game where you must guide a puddle of fluid to its target destination, not by moving the fluid, but by tilting the game world in Puddle for PS Vita. Foosball 2012 brings an unparalleled level of connectivity between PS3 and PS Vita, supporting cross play, gameplay continuation and offering both the PS3 and PS Vita versions together, for a price of a single game. All this and more on this week’s The Drop.

PlayStation 3

adidas miCoach — Users will receive real-time feedback on their actual in-game performance during their workouts when wearing a miCoach heart rate monitor (or any ANT+ compatible monitor).

For an even more connected gaming experience, the miCoach hardware interacts with the game, allowing users to wirelessly synchronize a miCoach Pacer and miCoach mobile app to their game console, incorporating workout data gathered while away from the game. Utilizing advanced video game console technology, users will be able to create profiles, set fitness goals and get instant analyses of workout regimens. They will choose from several sports, such as running, tennis, football (soccer), American football and basketball, as well as the athletes who guide them through hours of on-screen training and motivating game experiences.

PlayStation Network

Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes — Heroes from the DC Universe join up with the Caped Crusader to root out evil in LEGO Batman 2: Super Heroes. The Dynamic Duo of Batman and Robin join other famous super heroes from the DC Universe including Superman, Wonder Woman and Green Lantern to save Gotham City from destruction at the hands of the notorious villains Lex Luthor and the Joker. Batman fans of all ages will enjoy a new and original story filled with classic LEGO videogame action and humor as players fight to put the villains back behind bars.

Malicious — In the action game Malicious, you are a “Spirit Vessel,” called into the world by the Prophets to vanquish evil. Armed with the “Mantle of Cinders,” a cloak that can absorb power from destroyed objects as well as shift form, you wage battle with the “Malicious.”
Rather than crawling through lengthy dungeons to find and defeat enemies, this game gives you the power to select whichever stage you want and jump directly into epic boss battles in whatever order you please. Upon defeating each boss, you’ll absorb its power to obtain new and unique abilities, so the choice is yours as to how you’ll progress. In the end, however, you have one goal — prepare to face the ultimate evil, Malicious!

Puddle (PS Vita) — The player must work with friction, momentum, and the unique properties of each type of fluid and environment to send as much of each puddle past fires, rifts, potential spills and more. But watch out: the fluid motion is realistic!

Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City — Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City delivers a true third person team based shooter experience set within the dark and sinister Resident Evil universe and a reinterpretation of the events depicted in Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3. Zombies and Bio-Organic Weapons (B.O.W’s) add to the mix as players not only compete against an opposing squad but also tackle this third unpredictable element, creating a brand new style of gameplay and breaking the conventions of traditional team based shooters.

Foosball 2012 (PS3 and PS Vita w/ PS Move Support) — Enjoy one of the most popular sports in the world from the comfort of your home on PS3, or enjoy it anywhere on PS Vita and challenge your friends in a local multiplayer for up to four players and online multiplayer and leaderboards. With support for optional single-or double-controller PlayStation Move play (standard DualShock control is also featured) allowing for tight and fast gameplay control, Foosball 2012 is the supreme experience for table soccer fans.
