Contest: Design LittleBigPlanet Karting T-Shirt For PAX Prime

Hello Craftworld enthusiasts! Today, we’re announcing a contest for the LittleBigPlanet community, where you’ll have the chance to create this year’s PAX Prime LittleBigPlanet Karting T-Shirt!

We’re constantly amazed by the unique levels you all come up with, and we can’t wait to see your creative talents put toward this T-Shirt design.

The rules are simple; the shirt can be any color and must:

Contain a Classic (non-costumed, knitted) Sackboy
Include a Kart
Use only 1-3 colors
Utilize up to 3 areas on the template

To participate, visit the contest site

Also, our artists can rework what you submit, so even if your drawing skills are not the greatest, go ahead and send in your creation! Winning designs will be selected by LBPK’s production team. We will take the winner’s design and place it on the exclusive T-Shirt that will be handed out at PAX Prime in Seattle.

The winner will, of course, receive their winning shirt. Additionally, they will receive a 3G PlayStation Vita unit, a copy of LittleBigPlanet PS Vita, and a copy of LittleBigPlanet Karting. Five runners up will also receive the winning T-shirt and a copy of LittleBigPlanet Karting. The contest is open now through August 8th, so submit away!

What do you guys mean by “Contain a Classic (non-costumed, knitted) Sackboy?”

@1 – They mean you need to have a Sackboy in the design. But that Sackboy cannot be wearing any costumes/accessories, like when you first start playing LittleBigPlanet.

How can it only contain 3 colors if sackboy himself is going to be at least 3 and a kart needs to be added?

  We want you to be creative, so you can have fun with the color scheme. We’re not looking for you to copy/paste a Sackboy image from the internet, but instead to create your own. That means the entire drawing can be in one color, or mix of a few :)

Please use a plain background (on any color shirt). You can put designs in up to 3 of the outlined areas

This is to ensure we can actually print and create the winning entry!

When it says “Utilize up to 3 areas on the template” that means 3 of the yellow outlined rectangles can be used correct? And what shirt are we suppose to use, those images you guys provided or do we draw our own shirt from scratch?

And how complicated can one design be? For example, if we were to put text in one of the outlined areas, can we also draw stuff around/behind the text or can it only be the text by itself?

Thanks for another contest! Love being apart of games creation in this way. I know it’s a little off topic, but can you please provide some info about the Sly Cooper Treasure Design Contest? The European Winners have already been announced. Is there any word on the US contest and their winners? I hate to ask under this topic, but I don’t know where else to direct this question. in the official rules it says “The design must include a classic (brown with no costume) Sackboy, and a Kart. “-that means brown is one of the 3 colors or is it three colors besides brown.?

also would white count as a color?

I am very PO’d!

I was disappointed I didn’t get invited to the beta… or so I thought….

Constantly checking my e-mail everyday, I find nothing, with hope, I found out that Joystiq was handing out codes 4 days before the beta ends.

The next day I check my spam folder out of curiosity and what do you know, out of all the e-mails, the LBP karting beta had to be in there (sent to me on July 10th!). I would have never thought it would go in there since Playstation is in my Spam filter.

I am enjoying my hands on time with it, but I would’ve liked it better had I been notified earlier.

I can’t re-wind time or anything. Just a little frustrated.

hmm…, im not an artist either. therefore, i won’t be entering the contest. i am still however enjoying the LBPK beta. well, i was enjoying it until i ran into a hacker that nearly screwed my system up. this guy was doing some kind of invincibility trick. i forgot who he called himself but i now know to avoid him. still, i do have high hopes for this game. just gotta stay away from hackers XD

P.S. Sony, im still bugging you for Sonic avatars!

I do have a question, because I’m curious what the answer is. Is the 3 color only rule for each separate image? Or the entire shirt? Because, just with the logo, that’s 3 colors. Sackboy makes 4…

i have a question regarding the rules. When you say you can just have the whole drawing in one color or up to three does that mean the final color scheme you created are going to be used for the shirt or will they add more color after? One more question about the template. Is the one in the back left corner the same one in the front right corner? Thanks !

I have everything planned out in my head and now I just need to draw it out. I can’t wait.

How about this, they instead do a new ModNation Racers instead of a game which is exactly the same except with Sackboy slaped all over it, Don’t confuse me I like LittleBigPlanet but I don’t why they can’t do another ModNation instead of LittleBigPlanet Karting.

If it’s on a black shirt does white still count as a color? Cause I know when screen printing on a dark shirt you have to use white as a base.
