I already have The Walking Dead… Thanks Sony!

Also when will the current games be rotated out? Its been like 3 months with the same games.

This month the only games I’ve seen added are gotham city impostors , renegade ops, and pac man other then the two PSone classic’s.

Since I joined PS+ I haven’t seen any free DLC’S and gotten games I already had. I joined because I friend told me that all 12 games get rotated out each month but I haven’t seen that yet. Honestly I haven’t seen any new Full Ps3 games at all, all the same games are still in the ps store other then lame psn games and PSone/PS2 classic’s

I have some constructive criticism for this Plus post. I don’t think it’s a good idea to have the meat of the Plus update (Walking Dead for this post) as the title of the post. I think there should be a generic intro title. Similar to the “Sack it to me” posts on the blog. That way, it’s easier to identify this is for all Plus users.

I actually skipped out on this post yesterday only to come back today and find out it was my Plus update post. Not everyone will like everything so I wasn’t interested in the Walking Dead post, and I nearly skipped out on the post entirely. That’s why I think it’s a bad idea to phrase the title the way it is. Titles are important after all.

So taking this into account, something like “Plus up: Get The Walking Dead Episode 1 and 2 Free” can work as a more effective title. Of course I’m just throwing Plus up as an example. It’s up to you to find a good catchy phrase that’ll stick, and be easy to associate Playstation Plus with.

Just wanted to give some ideas. Thank you for your time.

Since we pay for a service shouldn’t we be given the option of what games, dlc’s, themes etc we want?

You guys select the games and we vote on the ones we want.

Handing out episodes 1 and 2 free before the people who actually bought the bundle package even gets ep3…WOW…thank you Sony for screwing folks. So tired of getting screwed over – why buy anything anymore?

If EP5 had already done been out, sure this would be cool as it is a great game and people need to check it out. But really Sony? Let the people paying and still waiting get first crack at it, there are other GREAT PSN games and classics that could be given away, not a game right in the middle of the series.

Of course I can see why, people who already bought it, screw them lets tease new folks with eps 1 and 2 and get MORE sales…gah.

I’m disappointed. Not because I already bought the game in any form (separate or season pass), not because it is a game I have no interest in (that is just bound to happen every once in a while), but because it is not a full game, as it has already been stated.
Calling it two games is just rather deceiving, at best we have two stand alone pieces of software. These are two episodic parts of a full game that account for less than half of its total whole. Even if the two pieces account as only 1 of the 3 possible slots for games, that is still too much. I hope the rest of the month’s offerings can step up the game, specially after a VERY lackluster July.

This wasnt a good Plus update.
Not because I have the Walking Dead season pass (so yeah, terrible update for me. But this happens, not complaining ’bout this) but for other reasons.
1 – The full game is considered to be all five episodes. So if you don’t give all 5 episodes for free, these two feel more like a trial than a full game.
2 – 10 dollars of free game? I would have to dig it up but I’m pretty positive this is one of the worst plus uptades, value-related.
3 – Now that you began updating Plus only once a month I’l have to wait up to september to see what’s next.
4 – June – 12 free games (9 Ps3s and 3 PSNs). July – 3 free games (3 from PSN). August – 2 Free games (which can’t even be called as a complete game as I mentioned above).

I never complained about Plus updates but now I think it deserve it.
Don’t get me wrong. TWD is awesome! Plus members who didn’t bought it will have a blast with it.
But sony, you get me used with great updates, and this one was way too weak for you standard.
My opinion

Sony- thank you for taking down Gotham City Imposters so quick. I’m sure you realized having a multiplayer-only game as a giveaway was a mistake.
I held off buying the Walking Dead series. Why? Because every other Telltale game in the past has has some kind of PS+ offer.
If you’re a gamer with an attention span of more than 5 minutes you’d have realized this was going to happen with TWD.
So I can’t feel too bad for those people complaining.

How about releasing Heavy Rain as a day 1 PS+ giveaway? 95% of subscribers would be happy with that.
We also need a couple of good racing games on the service.
GT5, NFS: HP, Split/Second, Dirt 3 and Jeremy McGraths Offroad (PSN) would be welcome additions.

I have 2 months of service left. Sony has 2 months to convince me to re-subscribe.

Oh, and NASCAR TheGame 2011. Why is it still not available to download in the US, but every other country in the world can buy it for around $7.00
The only market which it will sell is the US. Why go to all the trouble and expense of making it digital, but not get a respectable return on it by only placing it in countries who have no desire to play it?

SOMEONE explain this to me…

274

+ TwinDad on July 31st, 2012 at 8:03 am said:

@gm914,

I at first thought the same thing, it wasn’t popular, so they took it down. But based on one of Morgan’s replies I had another thought. This game wasn’t published by Sony. So that publisher has to agree to have their game given away for the entire period of time that it’s on the free list. That could make or break profit for some publishers. I suspect that 3rd party games when they do appear in the IGC they will be there for a month to lessen the financial burden on the publisher.

oops, my bad
I post a comment without fully readin the entire post (which I hate when people does this and I just do it myself)
Knowing that more games will come on August 13th is great !
Really sorry for my other post. Won’t happen again (though I still think TWD as one game within the 5 episodes. Giving just 2 of them isnt exactly a free game)

Know, the feedback.
I’m really satisfied with PS plus in general. I’m a subscriber for about a year and really, it was one of the BEST money I’ve spent on games for all my life.
I’ll give 9 for “instant game collection” because, although I’m loving it, there is always something to improve and I don’t want you guys to think otherwise.

One thing I would change?
Woulnd’t say ‘change’ but I’d love to see how much I’ve saved being a plus subscriber. In one year you gave me A LOT of games and I bought somemore taking advantage of your precious discounts.
So, I spent 50 dolars for subscribe, but how much did it gave me back?
I’m positive that this is a good addition because people will realize how much they saved from being a subscriber os PS Plus.

Keep up the good work guys and again, sorry for the last bad feedback on the last comment

Do you feel bad for the people who bought the first couple episodes (or entire thing)? – Walking Dead

Can I know if its eventually going to all be released for free, or is this more of a teaser promo to get us into it.

I ALMOST bought the first episode 10 times and it was the game i would almost least expect to be free. Phew

Please can you guys consider doing something like this:

Your Choice Of:

Ep 1 Walking Dead The Game
OR
Walking Dead TV Series 1 episode Download (its in the psn right?)
OR
Jurassic Park Download
OR
Back to the Future Download
OR

ANY OTHER OPTION – Anything that we can pick from if we already bought what your giving away for free. Especially if it was recently.

I agree with SegaSaturn617

I spent money on The Walking Dead because I wanted to support this game and the company. I feel like every time i show immediate support for a good inde game it is free a month later. Are we paying money to simply play the game earlier than everyone else? I can tell you this… the value is not there. I think Sony needs to be more considerate of us gamers who are spending money on content above and beyond the normal subscription cost.

Here is how this usually goes. I see a new game that is offered with a PS Plus discount. I take advantage of the discount because the offer is only for a week or two. I figure I got a good deal by being a member and receiving a discount. A short time later the game is free. This makes me pause every time I want to buy a game. Should i spend money and know that I’m going to get my money’s worth? Should I pass up the discount and hope it will be free soon?

I wouldn’t have a problem if all the episodes were already released and Sony decided to make it free a bit later.

These are really not appropriate tactics for Sony to be practicing. Please, provide those of us who are putting our money into your pockets an appropriate amount of value.

Also I have a rant to developers in general and is a little off topic but I want to get it out. Morgan can you please start relating this to game makers that put LOCKS on their save data. Please tell the developers that they need to warn us as in put in the description of their game or on the gaming case that their game has LOCKED SAVE DATA. I am so tired of having to keep paying for plus because I have to have it to back up my locked save data. If either you guys made cloud storage also a separate membership all in itself away from plus or developers TOLD US they are locking its data this wouldn’t be a issue. The developers leave up in the drak to searching the web gaming forums to find out if they locked the save data to their games and 90% of the time your hypers of the game will lie and say they don’t know if the game locks its save data cause they know we HATE THAT and will avoid games and avoid buying them for locking save data to the console. I know I would have saved lots of money had I known lots of my games I own had locked save data and think it should be a law to tell us its locked before we buy the games.

@ Morgan….Seems like an ok update so far. Your never going to make everyone happy all of the time so just keep up the good work with what you do release. If you had 12 quality months a year I’d never have time to get caught up and play what I want to. A good “off” month every now and then helps finish old games and other stuff from previous months. This may be too much work but one thing that would be nice for everyone who has signed up for + membership. A birthday gift of some free content that was previously available. Like I said might be too much work, but with all those free restaurant clubs you get free food on your bday, why not add something like that as a thank you to all the members on here?
