  • All I know, is I’ll be highly agitated as a plus member, if 2 PSone games are taken, a PSN game, AND a full game, and we don’t get those same things to replace them. Bad enough the only real update was the Walking Dead episodes I already OWN… almost time for me to renew, and it’s not looking good. What about fighting game and RPG fans? Why are we not getting any free content?

  • @hpz82

The correct term is Hard Drive or storage, not memory. It is simple to upgrade the Hard Drive in the PS3. A simple Google of PlayStation 3 hard drive upgrade should lead you to many tutorials for the process. Warning on the older PS3 models the small screw that holds in the Hard Drive takes a small phillips screwdriver. Make sure it fits well before trying to unscrew as it might strip the screw. But despite the warning it takes a standard SATA laptop Hard Drive and 15 mintes. I recommend the Western Digital 500GB Scorpion Blue.

  • I wold like to see the “promises” here that Sony has made with PS+. I see so many replies with the
“false advertising” and not living up to promises that I want to see what was promised. So far I don’t recall having read one thing about what products are expected for PS+ except for before the IGC, where it was at least one PSN title, and one Mini, and 1 PS1 game.

Frankly Sony has been super tight lipped about this product, with an exception of Morgan who has mentioned that 3 titles will be swapped in and out of the collection on a monthly basis. There will be discounts too. I’ve seen nothing else. Did I miss something or were people thinking that because there were 12 titles given in one month for IGC that it happens every month?

PS> Thanks Morgan for the awesome job you do. I know sometimes being the public face is hard. Sometimes you want to answer a question but you can’t because it might not be for public disclosure.

    • Yeah, I definitely want everyone to have an accurate picture of what Plus is. Here’s what we defined Plus to be at E3 2012: Immediate access to a library of games, with new titles arriving all the time; along with great discounts, access to betas, and exclusive features like online game saves, auto updates. etc.

This gives us a clear definition to gamers, while providing us with the flexibility to continually improve the service. Plus isn’t going anywhere except up; trust me on that one! =)

  • So yeah, I think I’ll be ending my + membership unless next week’s update is VASTLY superior to this one. Since that means I’ll also lose the few games I actually ENJOYED, I’ll probably just go back to Microsoft. Maybe even Nintendo… Wii U looks promising.

  • My Friend Thought he got Screwed over From Over because walking dead is free now but he doesn’t relise he Has the Season Pass lol and THX @Jak23ft cause i was about 2 ask the same question

  • @252, I recall the 3 game swap comment, but why choose a game that was a best seller upon release, indicating that most plus members ALREADY HAVE IT. That’s not value. Besides that, one game was swapped this week, and next week they plan to take 4! Yet they haven’t said what we’re being given in exchange… Sounds like more than a 3 game swap to me…

  • Can we please get avatars of the new Tomb Raider?

  • Well I’m enjoying the Walking Dead Episode 1! I won’t buy the other 3 because you need to have bought the first episode to get access to those. And I’m not renewing so that Isn’t an option.

Oh and guess what. Not to list any names here but there appears to be DLC (on popular games) on sale on the other marketplace.

They’re having Saints Row the Third, Kingdoms of Amalur AND Deus Ex DLC on sale for cheap. Kind of what I want. Except you’ll give us DLC for bad PSN games or something we aren’t even going to buy….

I’m sorry I don’t want to feel like an average Blog poster, complaining and all that and shouting out you. I do agree with the person who said you guys are treating Plus like a guinea pig. You are indeed. I think the Walking Dead was a good selection but… well… you see…. the season is still ongoing… which means people have already bought a season pass. Having this out a year after it releases is fine! . oh and you shouldn’t keep games a surprise from people. In worst case scenario they’ll buy it the day before you announce it and then get all upset. I’m providing feedback. Not just “Yelling at you until I get what I want”.

  • WTH is wrong with Sony?

EU got Deus ex and US got Gotham city imposters last month and now again EU got Dead Space 2(50% off all DLC) and rock of ages and we got some half assed psn games?

    this is BS.

  • Morgan and Co, I know you guys tend to ignore the latter half of the comments sections, but I have a serious question. Why is it that so many extremely popular titles in PSone’s history have been almost outright ignored? Twisted Metal as a series has been SORELY missing representation in the Playstation Store, especially TM1, TM Black, and TM Head On: ET. Star Ocean 2, and several fighting games and RPGs are also missing. Why? Especially ones that ARE Sony products and not 3rd party! Why withhold those games?

    • Technology issues are the likeliest culprits. When emulating older titles on PS3, there can be certain bugs that occur that aren’t able to be fixed, and therefore can’t be released. If it can’t pass internal QA, we can’t put it out. Things like sound bugs, save game issues, graphical glitches, etc, can ruin a classic game, so we can’t put them out in this state. There’s other things too like licensed music agreements ironed out in the 90’s that are tough to impossible to track down; publisher agreements, and more.

The teams that get these classics on the Store are all about preserving these legacy titles, and we all want them to be there, so we do what we can, but some titles aren’t able to be easily converted into digital download on PS3. Hope that helps!

  • Morgan, the problem people like myself have with the current direction of PS+ is that when the E3 announcement happened, it was not billed as the major change to the service that it has become. It was billed as an immediate bump into what we were already getting. That sounded awesome. But what happened instead was that many of the other benefits to PS+ got eliminated. The best part for me was I could log in each week and see dozens of titles that were discounted (the SNK catalog discount comes to mind)) and a few new free games. Now we’re stuck with a bunch of games that many already had or had played with an occasional swap out each month. If we’re lucky we get a $2 – $3 discount on a game that is over $12 to begin with and very few new themes, avatars or discounts on catalog titles.

To top it off, now each week is a barren wasteland for PS+ updates. We keep being told “it’s only going to get better” and “watch for the next PS+ blog post” only to keep watching this service become less and less worthwhile. And the salt in the wound is that the EU PS+ is knocking it out of the park with almost every update. I want this service to succeed. But I also want to feel like it’s worth supporting for the long haul.

  • Giving away the first 2 episodes to Walking Dead before the series is fully out? Well, I guess that is the last time I buy a season pass or pre-order from PSN. I can understand getting a free game after I have already bought it, but to give it out this quickly is unexceptable. Especially a game that by all accounts is still selling well and has gotten good reviews/publicity.

  • I can understand that it might be difficult for Sony NA to get third parties to go along with the free game deals, but there’s no excuse for Sony not put their self-published titles as a free full retail game for Plus members. Seeing Europe get all these quality titles let’s those of us in NA know where Sony sees the NA market. Its become a self-fulfilling prophecy that Sony came in third in this market this generation, because they’re treating us like an afterthought they take for granted after Japan and Europe.

  • @Michael_Thomas09
there was a nice article at the eu.playstation blog about getting ps1 games on psn.
i found it, heres the link: https://blog.eu.playstation.com/2011/01/31/psone-classics-where-we-all-stand/

  • As a PS Plus member, I’d like to see discounted downloadable versions of the following 2 games:
    – Batman Arkham City GOTY Edition
    – Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning GOTY Edition (or equivalent with all of the DLC).

  • Guess I came off too hard for a reply huh morgan?

  • I forgot to mention this:
The demo for Resistance: Retribution is not compatible with the PS Vita – but the full game definitely is. The full game costs $19.99. Why should we pay this amount when we can’t even try the demo on a PS Vita and see if we enjoy it or not?

Doesn’t it make sense to make this demo compatible with the PS Vita?

  • I think you guys should hire the guys behind STEAM to run PS Plus. DEEP discounts, not 2 or 3 dollar discounts on already overpriced games. BUNDLES to make things even more enticing. Tons of INDIE games and bundles to choose from. CONSTANTLY CHANGING, you could go on STEAM almost every day and see a new deal or new bundle….and their summer/winter sales are mindblowing good. Yet we don’t have to pay to use Steam….

For PSN in general (I’m sorry if this part sounds a little harsh), how are you guys getting away with ripping people off? This is why no one wants things fully digital. “Full” games for nearly triple the retail price? It’s really embarrassing. And the games that are several years old are prime-time for discounts, but never are discounted and never go on sale at all…..Even Sony’s own titles are very overpriced on PSN….I see Vita titles clearing out at retail while they go on sale, but on PSN they hardly ever move.

  • After reading all these bad things about PS+ I’m so glad I never got it. :D Sorry guys.

  • I got ps + because of the free games that released in July (R and C, infamous 2) so I hope the deals and offers improve. And please give more info on the exclusive beta you guys mentioned, I have been looking foward to that.

  • Hey Mr. Morgan, I heard Metal Gear Solid HD Collection is coming in the end of this month, can you ease my mind by telling how much will it cost? Thx.

  • Oh, and another question, can you tell if it will be one of the plus diccounts?

  • Can we get some basic monitoring here? There’s a theme on display called “cowgirl bubble bath” or something similar. It’s just in poor taste, and not something I want to see when browsing through the PS Store. Granted, the demographic is going to enjoy this (I’m not saying she’s not attractive), but it’s not something that should be in the new themes section through an otherwise innocent selection of products. Yeah, I got it – some games are rated mature. Here’s an idea: put all these half naked woman themes in their own section, regardless of how new they are, for people to find without being surprised.

  • I have the PS3 for like 2 years and buy a month ago my PS Vita, I could have bought the “other” console with that money, but I have preferred the Vita these PSP games downloaded from the PSN

    Star Wars Unleashed
    Modnation Racers
    Iron Man
    Midway Arcade colection
    Capcom classics Remix
    Capcom classics Reloaded
    Burnout Legends
    Activision Hits: Remixed

And I have like 10 of the PSOne … My question is: When my games will be available for the VITA? or will I have to buy a PSP again?

  • Morgan, I just received an email from sony about the PS Store uPdate and the image there shows the walking dead 1 and 2, AND an image of outland.

Be straight with me: are we getting Outland?

  • @mamaburra:: I just got the same email and have the same question. I am kinda hoping it’s a goof, but free is free and I am a huge fan of PS+. Morgan, any insight would be most welcome!

  • Well, we better get something. The Walking Dead episodes 1 and 2 are a glorified demo, plain and simple.

If we get one full ps3 game and one psn game, everyone will be happy and many mouths will be shut, mine included. Especially if it’s games that are really worthwhile like in the EU store; we don’t want any more rubbish.

  • ” Plus isn’t going anywhere except up; trust me on that one!”

Yeah, up in flames it seems. Since The format change it’s been nothing but a disappointment. Also I have to “lol” at those Emails going out. Seriously…it just gets worse and worse.

  • Yeah. We know you guys (Morgan & Co.) read our comments religiously, and we truly thank you for it; we only nag because we know you care and will pass this on to the powers that be. Thanks.

  • Still no Vita news or new psp titles for the Vita to download. Man, I’m glad I traded mine in last week. I suppose if they ever do decide to tell us about its plans I could buy it at a reduced price and even get a 50$ store credit. First adopters got screwed.

It appears that Sony has given up on this new device, including the people that bought them and waited this long.

  • “Yeah, I definitely want everyone to have an accurate picture of what Plus is. Here’s what we defined Plus to be at E3 2012: Immediate access to a library of games, with new titles arriving all the time; along with great discounts, access to betas, and exclusive features like online game saves, auto updates. etc. ”
So you guys claim SONY did not lie and do false advertisement however this line “with new titles arriving all the time; ” Is bogus. You did the one huge update in July and we saw nothing till this tuesday and it was not even a full game, so ya that is an straight out lie. Great Discounts your discounts have decreased although not a lie becuase it is based on opinion although I will say you did exagerate it. So morgan I want to know why is SONY treating all their consumers like they really don’t matter than sit there and say oh we do, when everyone complains about it? why dont you solve their complaints? do you only care about those who always say good job? Sony has fallen quite far and unless I see a change by the time + comes out I will be leaving sony.

  • Oh I just got an e-mail saying Plus has new freebies… with Outland being one of them…. Gah big dissapoint for me. It’s probably next week. I already have it. Great game but argh.

  • We still don’t know if Outland is coming or if it’s just a mistake in the email.

  • It sucks, however, to know that the EU and US store are trying different approaches to PS+ by using us as guinea pigs. It sucka when they’re getting the cake and we’re stuck with games like Choplifter HD.

  • No sound shapes Demo???

  • Do you have any update on when the ps vita firmware is coming with psOne support? More psONe classics on the store would be nice Driver You Are The Wheel Man, Twisted metal III , tetris plus.

  • I was on the fence about getting Plus. After seeing what’s been on the store the past few months, I’m glad I didn’t waste my money. PSN is such a piece of crap. I guess I can’t complain since it’s free to use. It just makes me sad because I grew up with the PlayStation. I love the PlayStation. It’s a great console. But more and more I’m starting to see the appeal of an Xbox. You may have to pay for their online features, but at least you’re getting your money’s worth. You’ll probably see me in line to buy a 720 when they’re released!

  • I think we should have Ridge Racer V in the PS2 classics to honor Ridge Racer on the PS vita
