  • What a bunch of babies you guys are.
Why can no one support anything anymore. This is ridiculous. Every week, every month, a bunch of you complain about Playstation Plus, and threat that you’re going to opt out of the service. If you’re going to whine about getting hundreds of dollars worth of awesome games and closed betas for a small price a month, then nothing can make you happy. “I already bought Outland!!” Well some people haven’t, like me. I’m happy every update, because there’s always something I want in it. After maybe 2 months, what you get has already payed for itself, so the rest of it is basically free. So get your panties untied and support your console. Or else grow up.

  • Here’s an idea for you Morgan. How about offering a new plan where we can download ANYTHING from the store for 29.99 a month. I would gladly pay for that. It would keep me from being disappointed at the crappy selection from whomever makes the decision each month for plus content.

    • it’s a fun idea. but highly unlikely at this time i’m afraid. You’re thinking of something like Spotify for music, but there would need to be a massive restructure to the games business for that to happen; but it’s a very forward thinking idea.

  • Some people have to realize something.

Back in June we got literally 5 years of PS+ for the price of $50 or for some of you, $17. Where on the planet are you going to get such an amazing deal? Even if you have 25% of those games, you’re still getting the next 4 years of PS+ for practically free.

It’s all icing on the cake if you ask me. Sure some people won’t like what games come out, but you have to look at it positively. These games are coming at you free. Even if you don’t own them, don’t be too quick to judge them. A prime example of this was when we got a bonus game called Stacking. Never in my mind would I have bought that game but when I played it, I was ecstatic – even bought the DLC.

Give Morgan and the store team some slack. They’re doing what they can, when they can. They can’t just “flip a switch” like some of you say and put it out on the store. Like they say:

“Great things come to those who wait”.

Leave some positive feedback once in awhile instead of always negative. Morgan, you’ve stated that you need thick skin to run your position. Well, you have that, and alot of hair! lol =)

  • Morgan, I suggest doing a post about what’s offered in Plus if possible. Even though it’s clear a lot of people complaining haven’t done much reading, it’s also true that SCEA hasn’t been as clear as SCEE about what would cycle out when and how many games would be rotating out per month. I know it’s 3 games/month, but I noticed a lot of people thought it was 12/month for whatever reason. It might cut down on complaints to have a post dedicated to FAQs.

    • well, we always link to the plus page on .com; but you’re right, perhaps this would be a good idea to write out our positioning on Plus as it states on the website, with every PLus post:

Immediate access to a library of great games
New titles arriving all the time
Exclusive access to game discounts, betas, demos and features like Online Game Saves and Auto Updates

  • Hahaha. All you lames that are complaining. Go get a damn job and buy the games you want. Thats what I do. And guess what, 80% of the plus free games put out I already own. And I dont care. You know why? Because I willingly spend my money on games knowing that they will end up on plus. I thought playstation was owned by mostly adults. But it seems like there are a lot more kids on it than I thought. Ive had 3 games I dont own come out sence e3, and thats counting the whole instant collection thing. I would like it to go back to the way it was. I loved getting ps1 game collections, avatars, and a lot of cool discounts on game bundles. Maybe one day they will go back to the way it was. But I doubt it. Im sure the instant game collection is making them a lot more money. I used to have one friend on my list that had plus. Now theres like 30 of them.

  • I liked the update, free games is always welcome. And I’ve played and enjoyed outland and BB will test now.

  • I did the math and figured out that since I’ve been a subscriber for a couple of years I’m only paying about 8 cents per month “rental” for each PS+ game I currently have on my system – figuring conservatively, knowing that I’ve now accumulated (at least) 50 plus games of various format (PS3, PSN, PS1, Mini) that I really enjoy. There is not a remotely comparable per dollar value in modern console gaming, period.

The internet is full of people who complain for no good reason, but for every person complaining on here there are tons of people who are quietly enjoying the service. Considering how many plus subscribers there are in this country, it’s safe to assume that the people who complain here on these boards only represent a fraction of a percent of the overall subscriber base. Otherwise, the negative comments would go on for hundreds of pages under countless different usernames.

I end up playing a lot of games I would have never played otherwise via Plus. I appreciate the variety of games, even if I don’t enjoy the offerings every single month. I have accumulated plenty of great titles through this service. Thanks again, and keep up the great work. Some of us really appreciate it.

  • Great update, Morgan.

The Walking Dead + Bloodrayne + Outland = One awesome month.

In fact, I just helped a friend signed up for PS+

Personally, I don’t understand what all the debates are about Full PS3 titles. Personally, I’d rather receive a great PSN title than a sucky Full PS3 title. Personally, just to make it a point, I think next month you should include Men in Black: Alien Crisis to the Plus update. It’s a Full PS3 title. It’s very new. It sucks so bad Gamespot gave it a 2.5. See if that will stop them from complaining.

With that said, I do miss the PSOne titles… wait, we received 2 PSOne titles last month.

With that said, I do miss the Minis… wait, we received a Minis in June.

  • So maybe personally, I still prefer the PS+ before E3, because every month is a surprise. Like Forrest said, it’s like a box of chocolate. You never know what you’re gonna get. But this new Plus is not skimping out on contents either. The strategy is different, but I do not think the value is any less. If one can get InFamous 2 + Little Big Planet 2 + Rachet & Clank: All For One for 49.90 anywhere in this world, I’ll agree with him that the PS+ is not worth it. Otherwise I’ll keep enjoying these updates every month. Still hoping to see Wild A.R.M.S. to be included in the Plus update though.

One last question: what happened to Pulse? I haven’t seen a new episode ever since E3.

  • What ever happened to Pulse?

  • Kid I said drastic differences. McDonalds serves many of the same items at every store. While they may have a few items only offered from country to country the are still about the same everywhere. So that was a poor example you threw out. How about you just shut up and remove your nose from Sonys A$$ and try to breath some fresh air. I think you have been breathing in to much crap and it has warped your mind.

    • dude. too far. you have a point, so state your debate. but the last two sentences are completely unnecessary. temporary bans will be falling on commenters throwing out personal insults from here on.

  • @Morgan Haro, you guys should compile a list that’s easy to access with all the free games ever given to Plus subscribers. It would be REALLY helpful! =D

  • I hate people who complain about the complainers.. tsk but wait my complaint is about the complainers complaining about complainers and…ugh Head hurts.

  • Comment: Part 1

When I first joined PS+ back in the beginning of June I thought it was great, I was able to play games like Infamous 2, Just Cause 2, Space Marine, and plenty of other really awesome games. Then the next month came and I was happy to see Gotham City Impostors, and Renegade Ops. I moved on to August hoping for some really nice content, but was kind of turned off to PS+ because of The Walking Dead, I do like the game, but it took me roughly 2 and a half hours to go through both episode 1 and 2, and I’ve got quite a bit of time on my hands for gaming, so I beat them on the first day they were released. So I waited for this week, hoping there would be something to keep me busy for the rest of the month, AND encourage me to renew my PS+ for the next three months.

  • Comment: Part 2

Sadly, I see no reason to, I’m trying to trick myself into thinking “Well he did say next month was going to be better…” But I’ve heard that all before. Now do I want to waste money to play games that I can beat in 3 hours, when I can buy ONE game for the same price that will keep me playing for 20+ hours. I just don’t think it’s worth it. There haven’t been as many discounts as I was hoping for either. Im not complaining, I’m just a bit disappointed that I was sucked in with really awesome games in June, and the rest of the three months have been good games, but nothing on the level of Infamous or Just Cause. I want something with replay value, not one that I have to force myself to go back to get 100% of the trophies…

  • I am happy that I’ll get to try out Dust 514, although I could have waited until OBT, or even the release of the game since it is F2P

  • Man people complaining are unreal. You’ve gotten like 20 games since June and yet you still whine. I’ve been a gamer for a long time and plus since day 1 and this is BY FAR one of the best things to happen to gaming IMO. I miss the themes and avatars we used to ge though. Those complaining should check out what $60 year ($10 more than plus) gets you from the competition, I’m sure you’ll sing a different tune.

  • @211

    LOL.

    Best. Comment. Ever.

  • Look in all honesty, I just don’t understand why everyone is getting so uppity about what’s being offered and what isn’t. I mean wasn’t last month alone a good deal? So the pickings are a little slim so far it’s still the middle of august!! Who knows? Maybe you’ll be surprised get a more full retail games, ps1 games, more psn games and just to sweeten the deal a chunk of ps2 classics? So let’s be patient and see!!

  • @215 Take a look at a service called Onlive. They provide over 100 games (last I checked) For $10 a month. With instant access to any of them with one click. That IMO is the best thing to happen to gaming. Plus is pretty good, but not as good as that.

  • I can say for sure alot of these top 20’s is NOT based on sales, real steal which is very old news in the game world being from last year just to name one example. But as others have said without any sales numbers its all just fantasy. And no that tired old lie of the sales being some corporate equivalent of the old coldwar state secret just doesn’t wash. Every other medium in the entertainment industry brags loudly when they produce a hit. The point is this: extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof. Really guys backing up what you say will put a big dent in the negative publicity.

  • Onlive is over 200 now actually.

  • Morgan haro? so your censoring posts now? and why in such an absurd manner? not that I’m surprised when your openly abusing another commenter in this blog. my original comment was longer but instead I’ll say only this. Morgan Haro either grow up and be a man or quit. Respect is earned and you sir have failed quite miserably.

Anyone else reading this understand this, the previous 2 posts were switched after posting if I could edit my own posts I would. Why things are done this way makes no sense. But it looks like a new blog team would be of benefit as the way things are has gotten out of hand.

    • hmm, i actually don’t have any control over the censor tools; perhaps it was a bug in the comments? The mod team may censor posts if they have crazy bad language in them or if someone is attacking someone else, but aside from that, it may have been a bug. It happens. But the blog team is here to stay I’m afraid; hope you don’t mind! =)

  • Why PSN EU have so much better games ? Ridiculous…
Wait nest month ?? i´m not counting with next month.

  • what happened to the PS3 games?? this month received only PSN games …. 01 PS3 game I think would be of good size, because we had 03 good games on PSN … I hope that next month we have PS3 games and not PSN.

  • Everyone has to whine, act like little kids and whatever else. How about just being thankful that Sony cares enough to reward their gamers with free stuff. So its not what you want, what you like, or you already own it. So what you yourself don’t run the show, you are not there doing the deals with the companies that make the games to get others free stuff. How about just accepting what they give instead of acting all childish they really don’t have to give any of us anything besides a console to play on.

If you really dislike Sony that bad for what they give then go over to the other consoles where you need to pay for everything and get nothing in return. There’s enough of us that don’t gripe and need to act like spoiled little brats that can keep them afloat. Also no one twisted your arms to pay for plus you paid for it so if you need to blame someone blame yourself not Sony.

@ Morgan Haro quite sorry if anything is offensive but honestly they need to stop complaining about something given for free, especially when it only costs $50 a year and one makes that back more than 3 fold.

  • I love the new Plus changes since E3 but miss the other content like avatars and themes too. It just feels like a games subscription service and that’s not what I signed up for. I want to see other content every month too, thanks.

  • I actually feel bad for Morgan right now. A Plus Update is supposed to be a happy blog post, but instead we get all these venom.

    • oh don’t feel bad for me. I love you guys, even if sometimes we can get a bit overboard. It just shows that there’s a healthy passion for the service. It shows an interested audience. It’s actually quite a healthy sign in a community; even if some of the comments can be critical.

  • Oh come on I just bought BloodRayne two weeks ago!!!

  • I hope you guys don’t brag about the full games from EU’s Plus at tomorrows press conference. There will probably be a huge backlash when Plus users who don’t pay attention to the blogs learn about the differences between theirs and ours. I really wish you didn’t focus so much on discounts for the past two months because it has clearly made the IGS suffer. Still love ya Morgan but I’m not renewing anytime soon. Thanks for the reply’s.

  • These both look like great games, neither of which I have yet. Both games have received great reviews. To the people that are always complaining that they already have the games: if you are a gamer that buys most games when they come out, then maybe plus isn’t for you since you already have any games that will come out for free. True, it does kind of stink that a full game was replaced by a psn title. However, Just Cause 2 was rather old and only $20 so I do not think any value is lost. Keep up the good work sony.

  • Yeah everyone needs to just chill. Morgan is the only person i see that actually takes time out of his day to respond to us on almost Every post he’s involved in, and he’s patience with people least we can do is respect his post and more importantly respect each other.

  • I liked Music Unlimited free 30 days demo but believe that it should be included in the PS+ subscription, could you please look at this in the future, thanks

  • Am I the only one who buys all the games that come out for free on plus? I mean discounts help but I would buy the game regardless if I want it, a few dollars isnt going to stop me. Heres the thing if you dont buy games very often plus is great but If you do buy a lot of games well plus isnt for you. I really dont know why I signed up for plus anymore the only thing I really love about plus is auto update and sync but why should I have to be a plus member for that.

  • I already have the August content, so I wish there was a poll or survey to vote for games we want in Plus, maybe something like the Gamers’ Choice Awards were we choose a game (vote) from a couple of options.

  • Wow. Everyone expects that for $5 a month they should be getting free ps3 full games? This is great value for $5 a month, even if you only don’t have one of the free games. This is a great value, and I tell all of my friends that they should subscribe to plus and get on the bandwagon. Maybe I have low expectations, but for just $5 I think that this is quite a large amount of content. True we have not gotten another full game since the instant game collection, but in the collection we got 5 or 6 free full ps3 games. It hasnt been five months yet. Guess I’m crazy for thinking that plus subscribers are getting an amazing deal. Also I like how the complainers say that everyone else is ignorant about their comments, but the complainers’ comments seem to be the most ignorant all around. Igonre the haters morgan. Sheesh

  • The free Walking Dead episodes are more than enough. Excellent update for those who don’t own Outland.

  • As a fairly new PS+ subscriber I have a few observations and suggestions. This week, for example isn’t the greatest update…for me anyways. 2 PSN games which I had little to no interest in purchasing at their regular price are now free.

On one hand PS+ is good in this way because by offering free games, rather than just discounted games I have already played a lot of games I wouldn’t have normally. And it makes a difference being free. For example if a PSN game I only have a slight interest in is $14.99, I don’t even bother with the demo because I know I most likely won’t pony up the dough for it. If it’s free or heavily discounted on PS+, it becomes like a prize all of a sudden…

  • However in another way PS+ is bad in the sense that it almost convinces you to buy games (Crysis 1 for me) that you weren’t willing to pay full price for. So I’ve also bought a lot of stuff with my PS+ discount that I ended up not liking that much that just takes up space on my HDD. But unlike a retail, boxed game I can’t trade in my digital download.

The one suggestion I have is to credit current PS+ subscribers back when a game they recently purchased becomes free (The Walking Dead Ep1 & 2 are a prime example). I bought the season pass which gives me all 5 for $20, so it’d be great if I got $8 back for Ep 1 & 2.

  • #232

Is his job to respond about the complains or other issues, SCE pays him for that. I think that the problem is the difference between the games offers in EU vs USA, everything could go fine if the list was be the same for both.

    • well, yeah of course it’s my job to respond. but it’s one that i happen to feel a strong connection to, so I don’t look at engaging with you guys as a ‘job’ more of a privilege than anything.

But yes, the differences between EU and NA are being examined on our end to see how we can make people onboth sides of the Atlantic happy.

  • I am disappointed. Please give us more retail games. Perhaps games that are receiving sequels soon could be on there next month? Bioshock 1 or 2, Dead Space 1 or 2, Assassins Creed 1 or 2, Borderlands 1? Something cool like that.

  • Awesome update, I’ve heard great things about Outland so I’m really happy to see quality PSN games like this on Plus!! Much better than old retail games most people already have!

  • Smh Best time to have Ps+ is during da Summer of E3 Already have most of these games wish they would let us pick our games

  • Hey, is it true that EU PS+ is getting Siren and Borderlands 1?

  • @218

I’m actually a member of onlive. It is a good service, and this is where I see plus heading toward in the future, especially with the gakaii purchase, but then we’d have people complaining about pay 10 a month. My comment was more geared toward consoles, but I get your point.

  • Ah, don’t worry guys, PS1 classics are finally coming tomorrow or this week. trust me :) right Morgan ;)

  • Another weak update to NA PlayStation Plus, please show us you actually listen to your fanbase and do something about it instead of telling us “It’ll be better next month, just wait”.

  • Hi Morgan. Thanks for the update.

Well, i think that the problem about the people are complaining its not the quality of the free games, the problem its the comparison between the PS+ US and PS+ EU updates, because a feeling that you are receving less for the same product. I think about Playstation as a family, but i feel a little competion between PS+ US and EU, and thats not too good. Why you don´t unificate the scheme for update?

Anyway, i think these games will not dissapoint anyone :)

PS: Morgan is there any chance to receive Modnation Racers or Mass Effect 2 on the next months for the IGC?

    • Yes, the EU comparisons are a main factor in people comparing the programs and seeing a difference. We’re aware of it on our end, and are working to identify the best way to achieve unification of the service across all territories. So I can completely understand the responses when gamers see that one territory gets a full game and another doesn’t.

I don’t think it takes anything away from the value of the membership, but I get where gamers are coming from.
