You’d think that with all the awesome stuff we pulled off at gamescom, we would’ve taken a minute to breathe. Alas, being mind-blowing is a full-time job, so we just keep bringin’ the goods!

You headed to PAX? We hope so, because we’ve got a whole lotta goodness coming up to Seattle! Aside from the great The Last of Us demo you’ll see from Naughty Dog, you’ll get to check out the following from our Community Team and some of our biggest franchises:

PlayStation at PAX Prime 2012
PlayStation All Stars Battle Royale is fast-approaching, and we’ve got limited edition T-shirts featuring PaRappa the Rapper to give away at PAX. Find our community managers Cade Peterson and Paul Sullivan at the PlayStation booth first thing on Friday morning (the show opens at 10:00am) to nab one.

If you can’t make it to the PlayStation booth Friday morning, or if you’re just adventurous and want to roll the dice, they’ll also be wandering the PAX show floor on Friday, Saturday and Sunday with free one month trials to PlayStation Plus, and any leftover T-shirts as well. All they ask for in exchange is conversation, and perhaps participation in a few shenanigans. Cade and Paul will be at random locations every few hours, so be sure to follow @HeyPlayStation on Twitter during the show to see where they wind up.

Come visit the LittleBigPlanet section for some major Playing, Creating and Karting! We will be showcasing new race and battle courses in LittleBigPlanet Karting and a larger taste of the mysterious land of Carnivalia in LittleBigPlanet PlayStation Vita. Plus, our lucky and loyal fans can score our PAX-exclusive, fan-created LBP Karting T-shirt chosen from last month’s PS.Blog contest. It’ll be a LittleBigParty weekend, and you won’t want to miss out!

Fresh from gamescom, be sure to swing by and get your hands on some Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time! We’ll have brand new demos for both the PlayStation 3 and the PS Vita versions of the game. Featuring the return of all your favorite characters, and the introduction of Sly Cooper’s ancestors, this upcoming PlayStation exclusive promises to be the biggest and best Sly Cooper ever!

One of the most highly anticipated PlayStation exclusives will be offering up some brand new characters for you to get your hands on. Who exactly? You’ll have to come by to take a look, as we’ll be unveiling two new additions to the roster at the show. Not only will PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale be offering up free pedicab rides around the Convention Center (yes, seriously), you’ll also be able to pick up some free Rally Wear representing some of your favorite characters.

Jonesing for a little God of War: Ascension? Well, God of War fans will be in for a special treat this weekend at PAX.

On Friday, August 31st (from 5:00pm to 6:00pm) in the Unicorn Theater (located in the Convention Center), attendees will have the opportunity to meet God of War: Ascension Game Director Todd Papy, Lead Game Designer Mark Simon, Principal Character Artist Patrick Murphy, and the award-winning writer behind the God of War series, Marianne Krawczyk, as they discuss the origins of God of War: Ascension and provide a never-before-seen look at the evolution of Kratos. The team will also discuss their thoughts on storyline in videogames, and the role it plays in creating the best gaming/entertainment experience. Additionally, fans will be treated to the unveiling of a new character that Kratos will encounter in God of War: Ascension. They’ll also have the opportunity to chat with the team about multi-player, the upcoming Beta, and anything and everything within the God of War universe.

God of War: Ascension’s single-player demo will be available for the first time here in the US, giving fans a taste of what to expect next March. In addition, multi-player stations will be available, where attendees will have a chance to win a God of War: Ascension t-shirt, available only at the PlayStation booth during PAX Prime 2012.

The team from Insomniac Games will also be at PAX for a special Ratchet & Clank 10th Anniversary Celebration panel on Sunday, September 2nd from 1:00 – 2:00pm in the Pegasus theatre. They’ve been hard at work on Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault and they’ve just ramped up a small private beta for the game’s exciting new competitive multiplayer mode. As a special treat, we’re giving a few very lucky fans the opportunity to join the fun. If you swing by the Ratchet & Clank 10th Anniversary Celebration panel, you just may have a chance to score a beta code or one of these cool Ratchet & Clank t-shirts. Stay tuned to the PlayStation.Blog as you may have a few more opportunities to win a code!

There’s more! We’re also partnering with SPIKE TV for a special fan appreciation contest for the Video Game Awards Tenth Anniversary. SPIKE TV is giving PAX attendees the chance to win a trip to this year’s VGAs, hosted by Samuel L. Jackson on December 7! Here’s how it works: first, you’ll need your smart phone handy and an Instagram account. Then, stop by the PlayStation booth and upload a picture of the poster below to Instagram using #VGA to enter to win.

That’s not everything that’ll be in the booth. You’ll also be able to get some hands-on time with PS3 and PS Vita demos for The Unfinished Swan, Sports Champions 2, When Vikings Attack, Smart As and much more! We hope you can make it over to check out our booth at PAX 2012!

  • Don’t live in the right country for this, but I still think these are great events for both the fans and the publishers.

Nice line up of games/game makers.

    Good stuff.

  • This is all awesome, but I’m on the wrong coast…can we get some love like this at PAX East in Boston next spring!?

  • you guys ether need heavenly sword characters or chimera from resistance franchise

  • @boomstickbhg

I live in the right country but the wrong state and city so don’t feel too left out. All of these events never even happen remotely close to Miami.

    *Sad Face*

  • btw you guys just unvieled evil cole so wth…more characters!? awesome

  • Were the winners for the LBPK t-shirt contest already announced? (Or will the winning designs be revealed at PAX?)

  • 3 days til pax prime whooooot

  • My sadness is overwhelming

  • Can’t wait for PAX and to see what the Blog has planned.

  • I got the try the God of War Ascension demo at FanExpo. It was fun, but felt very by the numbers. It was pretty much identical to the God of War 3 demo.

  • More content, YES! I AM ON BOARD!!!
    Can’t wait!

  • So what does the wining LittleBigPlanet shirt look like?

  • You said it’ll be a LittleBigParty weekend, is that your way or hinting at a LBP themed party game? ;) Jk, I’m just over analyzing things now.

Can’t wait to see what PAX has in store! Will there be a live stream somewhere? Or are you guys going to cover everything on the Blog?

  • Just curious, who makes the psn avatars? Because it would be nice to put a little bit more manpower into the psn avatars. I just feel like they (psn avatars) are not as diverse or as taken advantage of as they could be. Imagine Kingdom hearts, Dead Space, and Mass effect avatars. They could be making tons of money on the psn store. It would also be exciting to just see more every tuesday. Just more emphasis on psn avatars. Thanks.

  • Sometimes I hate living in Miami:-/ have fun everyone!

  • Please take the chance at pax to announce Retro city rampage is coming out that tuesday

  • @snakeeyes211,

Living in Seattle isn’t always sunshine and lollipops either.

For video games it doesn’t hurt that 2 of the 3 console makers have headquarters around here.

  • That PaRappa shirt. Want! I would so rock that shirt in random public places, like bus stop benches, building lobbies and coffee shops, while playing my PS Vita.

  • Sony should do the right thing and tell the penny arcade guys to move PAX to a bigger venue. The Washington state convention center is too tiny. Pax is in demand, more people want to go each year, and 70,000 is the limit and won’t grow. Theres safeco field and many other places in seattle to have it. Teach them what supply and demand is.

  • I’m with kilburni86 why haven’t you guys never done anything at Pax East? It’s actually larger in numbers than Prime (not disrespecting Prime), it’s got a larger venue. Which means more of us can show up…

  • I love the Team pararappa t-shirts will there be anymore coming out soon and and any way to grab them fro those who cant join PAX this year?

  • It would be fun if PlayStation had a presence at next years PAX East… because there are gamers on the East coast too. =)

But glad our fellow Pax attendees in the West will have fun with you guys.

  • Nothing ever comes to the east coast…

    *sad face*

*went under covers and cried a bit*

    *slept for 20 minutes*

    *woke up*

    *now playing Sly Collection*

  • @24 Agreed I live in Delaware and I’ve never been to those major game conferences like e3…*sigh*

  • Wish there was a New York show, this looks awesome!

  • I’ve been to Pax East 2 years in a row and I have to say SONY barely has a presence @ PAX EAST show floor. All I’ve seen was SOCOM 4 which seemed to crash & fail, yet Naughty Dog appeared the past two years with Uncharted 3 panels. The East show is mostly dominated by xbox & indy titles. But the biggest problem with East and making a third show is to get support from developers and to make sure the show isn’t conflicting another games event like SXSW which happens to be around the same time as PAX EAST and SONY goes to every year… >:(. However it depends on what SONY want’s to spoil before E3 cause PAX EAST is only like 3 months before it, but trust in Mike Kraulik and Jerry Holkins to still deliver games people are going to like ie. I got to try Borderlands 2 & Aliens Colonial Marines way before release…

    Your fellow PAX EASTCOASTER,

  • wish i could go to any game convention, its just so hard to attend.

  • i hope you guys announce more third party characters in All Stars soon. The lack of any jrpg characters is disturbing, considering how impactful that genre was to PS1. Specifically Final Fantasy.

  • Tom Clancy’s EndWar for PSN

  • Samuel L Jackson is hosting VGA this year? When did he become a gamer? This will be great. I can see him pulling the Where’s my MF Wallet routine with Where’s my MF Game! If you don’t know where that is from just watch Pulp Fiction!

I want a free God of War Ascension T shirt!

  • Man, I wish I could go to PAX. Can’t wait for new Sly info. :3

  • Hey Cristian, any word on the Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time Treasure Contest Winners?

  • Wow. PAX sounds really cool this year.

Have to say that I’m VERY impressed with Sony lately. So many great games coming!

  • WARRIOR’S LAIR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Cristian Cardona
