The PlayStation Recap — Lazy Saturday Edition

Sid Shuman's Avatar + Posted by Sid Shuman on Sep 08, 2012 // Senior Manager, Social Media

Not a bad post-PAX week, all in all, with a solid PlayStation Store lineup and plenty of announcements to keep everyone on their toes. I’ve recently gotten some hands-on time with Tekken Tag Tournanment 2 (out next Tuesday). Based on what I’ve played, it’s – not surprisingly – the biggest and most comprehensive Tekken yet. I particularly enjoyed the Fight Lab mode that enables you to mix and match moves to build the ultimate Combot (combat robot) character. Good stuff!

Don’t miss Sony Santa Monica Studio’s God of War: Ascension PAX panel highlights (and a new HD video showing off the first Fury), the new dev diary and release date for Wonderbook: Book of Spells, new Sound Shapes community-made level picks from Queasy Games, new details on the freaky Horde enemies in LittleBigPlanet Karting, a new chance to win big with the EA Sports Challenge series, and first details on GT Academy 2012′s Spike TV series.

What are you playing this weekend?

I would like a AT&T app that lets me make phone calls and send and recieve texts. It would be a added bonus for us 3G users.

Also when can we get Doctor Who on the vita?

I was also disapointed by Madden for the vita, it was still the best portable version to date, but it was just madden 12, with new rosters.

Are you serious? Is more like Lazy 2012 let me ask you something,Where are the
Psone titles? Where are the new apps or new updates for the apps? i know FW 1.8
has some nice things includes Psone support and a terrible browser worse than the
first one but come on,Whats the point of adding Psone support if u only get 26 titles
on the Psvit Store i dont have a PS3 so dont come to tell me to transfer them, and iam
only waiting for the Store to update but you dont even do that. 26 titles is nothing, hope
this week you release good Psone games, been waiting for Castlevania:SOTN.

Behind the Classics is my favorite Playstation Blog feature right now. Very cool. Looking forward to reading more of those. Hoping we see one about Final Fantasy 7 and another about Legend of Dragoon.

I also like the Playstation Plus updates now that I’m a Plus member. :)

    Ok, so…

I’m playing: Ratchet & Clank HD Collection (love it), Uncharted 3 (first time playing through the single player! SO great), and Red Dead Redemption (amazing game).

I’m watching: Just saw Hell On Wheels & Copper tonight. Tomorrow I’ll be watching Warehouse 13. And on netflix, I’m watching Once Upon A Time, Sliders, X-Files, and Law & Order Criminal Intent.

I’m reading: Finishing out Midnight Nation by JMS. Thinking about reading Astro City by Kurt Busiek next.

I’m listening to: not much right now.

This coming week, I’m interested in playing Double Dragon Neon and maybe a couple of the demos.

Still hoping we hear something about the Playstation All-Stars Plus or Open beta soon…
