Max Payne 3 — When gangs target the family under his protection, Max is forced to fight to save his clients and clear his name, in a bid to, once and for all, rid himself of the demons that have tortured him for far too long. This dark, gritty action game utilizes cutting edge technology for a seamless, cinematic action experience. Anomaly: Warzone Earth — Blending fast-paced, explosive action with tactical battlefield command, Anomaly puts players in charge of a military convoy tasked with fighting back against the mysterious alien war machines that have begun to spring up in many of the world’s largest cities. Players take part in battles personally to support and assist a hand-picked armor squad, utilizing their top-down tactical view to plot each and every turn of the convoy. As they progress through the story campaign and challenge modes, players will unlock upgrades and new units to build their ultimate destruction squad.

Exclusive to the PlayStation 3 version is local co-op mode — two Commanders to support each other in battle, one responsible for controlling the armor units while the other plans the strategy. Both get into the action and are able to boost their abilities in the battle.

Double Dragon Neon — The reinvigorated update to the 80’s beat’em up smash hit that is reminiscent to the original. Trained by their sensei in the special form of martial arts called Sōsetsuken, Billy and Jimmy are equipped with lethal combat skills and weaponry to bust some faces and battle the baddest goons around as they journey across the galaxy to rescue the love of their lives.

FIFA Street — FIFA Street 3 creates a hyper-real world that merges the game’s biggest stars with environments that pulsate to the music in exotic locales around the world. Featuring over 250 of the world’s best players representing 18 of the top international teams, each player has been rendered into a stylized caricature with heroic qualities. Decked out in authentic training kits, every player boasts their own, distinctive style of play with unique abilities to match. La Pucelle: Tactics — La Pucelle: Tactics is a tactical RPG from Nippon Ichi, creators of Disgaea. La Pucelle: Tactics is a tale of betrayal and double cross, monsters in human form and humans in monster form, set in an alternate medieval Europe. The unlikely hero is a smart mouthed and undisciplined sixteen year old who just passed her exorcism exams and her comrades in La Pucelle, a demon hunting squad. La Pucelle serves up a rich storyline, with equal parts characterization and personality to match. Gameplay involves capturing monsters and successfully manipulating each stage’s Dark Portals, all set to a quirky old-school atmosphere and complemented by extra gameplay features, like the bartering system. Over 100 hours of gameplay with multiple endings await.

  • so much vita content, is overwhelming!!!!! so when Nihilistic is gonna release a Resistance Burning Skies online multiplayer patch that let us actually enjoy the game?

  • Double Dragon neon is free for PlayStation plus members!

  • Anyone who hasn’t already bought BF3 should seriously consider the Premium edition, an awesome campaign, multiplayer, co-op and 5 expansion packs will be great value for money if the price is reasonable.

  • I’ll certainly get the demos of Double Dragon and F1 2012. By the way, great week.

  • I’ve heard that Double Dragon Neon will be a free game for Plus subscribers, is it true?

  • Been wanting to try La Pucelle: Tactics for a long time, I am glad I finally can. Need to try out Double Dragon as well. First drop in a long time that has something I am looking forward to trying.

  • @perrandy: Yeah, the game’s story was pretty good. It’s crazy how serious the game can get once you get deep into it.

  • What about Grand Theft Auto III as a PS2 Classic? Last Month, it was said that it was delayed due to a music copyright issue. There was no updates on that topic ever since. Are we ever going to see it being released at all?

  • KILLZONE TRILOGY comes out on my B-Day! Im picking it up even though i own 3 copies of KZ3, 1 copy of KZ2, and of course i still have my PS2 copy of KILLZONE. Best FPS ever. Tekken Tag Tournament was my first PS2 game, so of course im getting Tekken Tag 2. Tekken Best Fighting, Killzone Best FPS. Im also getting Killzone Mercenary and i hope Killzone 4 is a PS4 launch title.

  • Is says here that Jet Set Radio HD is supposed to be available for PS+ users tomorrow. I have been waiting for it for months and I have been waiting for the blog to update with Jet Set Radio in the Drop section with PS+ price.

    http://gematsu.com/2012/08/jet-set-radio-hd-release-dates-set

Is this article not right? Will PS+ get Jet Set Radio HD tomorrow? It is the game of the year, and to not see it here is very unsettling. I have been waiting for it for a long long time now. Another Playstation Blog mistake that you guys forgot to list it or something or in the PS+ blog section?

  • question about BF3 Premium

I see it is listed as network release and not on the BluRay section
I know for a fact is coming out on BluRay, is this a mistake or is it actually being released in psn and at what price?

  • Double Dragon Neon and Scott Pilgrim Vs The World are this months free PS Plus games.

Jet Set Radio is also available for $ 9.99 for Plus members.

    Confirmed in the PS Blogcast.

Looking forward to the F1 2012 demo.

  • Also Namco makes Great games, Tekken, Armored Core, Enslaved, Pacman, many more.

  • Is Jet Set Radio for the PS Vita too? if it is im getting it.

  • Aww man! That’s the only new PS2 classic? Well that’s ok. Even if the games which are being added aren’t the ones I want, Im just happy that we’re all still getting more PS2 classics regularly. Thank you anyway Sony :) please keep em coming.

  • Just want a kingdom hearts collections!!! Hurry sony/se! Ive been holding up on playing them on ps2 just so i can replay then on ps3 with trophies

  • Anomaly Warzone would’ve been great in the Vita. A wasted opportunity.

  • maybe someday Spartan Total Warrior, Shadow of Rome, Colosseium Road to Freedom, Conflict Vietnam, Mission Impossible:Operation Surma, Starwars Battlefront 1& 2, Syphon Filter Dark Mirror,Syphon Filter Logan’s Shadow, and the Dynasty and Samurai Warriors games will be added. Heck, even Red Dead Revolver is probably a classic.

  • Still no new PSOne classics? Believe it or not a lot of people still play those. Please update that list Sony. The choices are getting slim.

  • @monterossa Yes it’s free for plus

  • Yes! La Pucelle: Tactics. I love that the PS2/PS1 classics are letting me play some of the RPGs I missed.

  • #24 buddymanna please dont say dark mirror or logans shadow. I wont to play them on my vita because I have never played they and it makes me sad that they are not there.Vita depression sets in again.

  • Can I trade all of that for Crisis Core please? Thanks.

  • So, when is PSN getting Final Fantasy Type 0?

  • #29 arliman now you have done it. I am crying out loud because you said crisis core.I wont that even worse like thousands of others. You should hear weeping all over this side of the world just from the mention of it.

  • Another week another total of 0 items for the vita. #sadpanda

  • Now if someone says something about wanting Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep for the vita I may go catch cars on the highway and end it all.Sony does that tall you how bad we wont these.

  • A price drop for saints row the third would be really nice.

  • Soooo nothing for Plus subscribers

  • Is the fifa 13 demo coming to vita?

  • SNOOOOOOZZZEEERR

  • Tekken Tag 2 and La Pucelle: Tactics!!!!!!

Get Ready for the Next Battle!!!!!!!

  • Meh…..nothing interesting at all this week. i couldn’t care less about battlefield or Tekken. I’m not the interested in double dragon either, but i hear it will be free so i might as well try it for trophies.
I really hope the discounts and avatars this week are alot better.

  • Nothing for Vita as usual. gotta love the zero support Sony shows toward us fans. i seriously cannot wait for Persona and Ragnarok comes out so i can finally used my Vita again. would have been nice to play more ps1 titles to buy (i already have the ones i own before like the final fantasy titles, LoD, etc) and more psp titles while we wait on vita games. seems really sad that we are still waiting on psp titles to be released on the PSN.

  • oh dang, i just nothiced Max Payne listed as well. I was very interested in trying it when it first came out. I have a bad feeling it will be full price on psn, which is ridiculous. Psn has never gotten prices right for full retail games that hit the digital store.

  • I honestly don’t care about Dawnguard or any dlc for Skyrim anymore. Matter of fact to be specific I don’t care for anything Bethesda anymore. Done with them. Changed my pre-order of dishonored too.”but Betheda didn’t make the game, their only publishing it” Maybe you didn’t hear me, I said anything Bethesda! plus its been getting colder at night I’m just glad i have something to put on the fire to keep it going.
Burning it all throughout the winter to keep warm, strategy guides, all their games, collectors stuff, etc. Hell has a very special place just for you Bethesda.Oh well guess it was Square Enix, now Bethesda. Going to Ubisoft until until AC3 sells and gets big, then makes the company filthy rich, and then Ubisoft turns and does the same thing as SE and Bethesda. Not much to look foward to, only thing keeping me going is the promise of the end of the world someday.THEN I WILL RISE….

  • Here we go again with the ” Nothing for Vita again ” comments. If I remember correctly, Zen Pinball 2 For the Vita was released last week…….And again, the Drop is NOT, I repeat NOT the full release list of PSN titles for its tuesday update. smh……

  • Where is the Borderlands 2 Pre Order?????? It’s been available on EU psn store for a week now!!!!!! And why do you never reply to peoples comments in your post Ray ? ? ? You never reply to anything. You don’t deserve your job in my opinion!!!! I think it’s because your just plain lazy!!!!!

  • @20 Jet Set Radio HD is coming to PSV, but will be released in October. ^_^ I’m waiting for that version. Zone of Enders HD Collection for PSV should hopefully come out around the same time as well. WIN!

  • STFU! La Pucelle: Tactics?!

  • Any other PSone games coming soon? I’m hoping foe Street Fighter EX2 Plus and Fear Effect. Or Bloody Roar 4 & Escape From Monkey Island as PS2 Classics?

  • @43, onslaught- short term memory sucks, haha. (=

I’m enjoying V2 of Zen Pinball. Great UI, looks very nice on the Vita! I think I will end up buying more tables…

Waiting for All-Stars, Persona, Retro City (what’s the ETA on this?), Ragnorak, LBP, & AC. On the fence of the Vita’s COD & Lego LotR- after the poor port of Lego Batman.

  • OMG! Squee! La Pucelle: Tactics! Yay!!!!
