The PlayStation Recap — The Calm Before the Storm Edition

We (meaning the inhabitants of the northern hemisphere) are precisely one week away from the official beginning of fall. And you know what that means: Mountains of new game releases, whether it’s LittleBigPlanet for PS Vita (September 25th), Assassin’s Creed III and Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation for PS Vita (October 30th), Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 (November 13th), PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale (November 20th) or the countless other games releasing between now and the end of the year. Next week begins the bombardment in earnest with Borderlands 2. What fall 2012 game are you most looking forward to?

This week certainly wasn’t a quiet one, as you’ll see below. Other weekly highlights included the release of Red Johnson’s Chronicles – One Against All, the confirmed October 2nd release of the 3G/Wi-Fi PS Vita in Canada, new details on Let’s Fish! and Dokuro on PS Vita, the fourth installment of our God of War “epic moments” countdown, and big updates for PlayStation Home with Cuthroats 2.0 and word of Intellivision’s imminent invasion. Not bad!

What are you playing this weekend?

  • I’m watching: Louis Season Three
  • I’m reading: Flashback by Dan Simmons

    • Looking forward to LBP Vita going up digitally on tuesday (wink, wink!) since the online goes up then, as well.

I’m NOT playing LBP, because I am patiently waiting for the digital version… although I would be upset if it wasn’t put up until the 25th.

I’m watching the twitter feed, for any news regarding LBP Vita releasing digitally on the 18th.

I’m reading forum posts of people upset that digital users got shafted YET AGAIN.

      I’m listening to the LBP Vita trailer music. Patiently waiting ;_;

    • I’m playing: Velocity and Where Is My Heart
      I’m watching: Hell On Wheels
      I’m reading: Ready Player One
I’m listening to: Double Dragon Neon soundtrack http://doubledragonneon.com/music.php

    • I’m kind of interested in Playstation All-Stars. Though Assassin’s Creed III looks good! Oh and don’t forget Resident Evil 6 is coming in October too! That looks good. Looking forward to playing the demo of RE on Tuesday. :)

Disappointed in the Playstation Plus offerings this week. I thought about downloading Double Dragon Neon, but not really sure its my type of game. And I already own Scott Pilgrim. Hoping there’s some better content later in the month.

      Anyway…

I’m Playing: Uncharted 3 multiplayer (beat the single player recently), Ratchet and Clank HD Collection, and Red Dead Redemption single player

I’m Watching: Saw Doctor Who tonight (it was really good), watching Hell On Wheels & Copper tomorrow. Also watching Once Upon A Time, Law & Order Criminal Intent, and X-Files on Netflix!

I’m Reading: Thinking about re-reading Dresden Files: Storm Front by Jim Butcher soon.

I’m Listening to: Not much at the moment.

    • I’m playing: cs:go, infamous 2 courtesy of ps+

waiting for walking dead episode 4

    • I’m playing: Battlefield 3: Armored Kill, Halo Reach, Zen Pinball 2

Please release LBP Vita on the store. It’s not fair that we wait til the 25th even though you get more money from Digital sales.

Also, do you guys play platforms other than PS(360,Wii,3DS,etc…)?

    • My 3 most anticipated games are:

      Assassin’s Creed 3
      Halo 4
      PlayStation All Stars Battle Royale.

    • What game am I looking forward to most this fall? That’s easy. Resident Evil 6 and Medal of Honor Warfighter.
I aslo want Call of Duty black ops 2, but only for the single player campaign.
Playstation All Stars Battle Royale is cool too.

    • I am excited to have Jetset Radio early!! I just wish I had the same early access on my Vita!! I would really like to see Sonic Adventure, Space Channel 5 (1st one), and Spawn in the Demon’s Hand ported to the PS Vita! Honestly I think the Vita should be the focus of Sega’s porting of dreamcast titles like Toy Commander, Power Stone, Billy Hatcher, Evolution, Blue Stinger, and Shenmue…there is a reason Dreamcast is still a cult classic, and all of the dreamcast titles would be perfect for the PS Vita. Chu Chu Rocket with online support would be a game changer for the vita!
I am anticipating Sonic Racing Transformed, Phantasy Star Online 2 (Vita!!!!)
I am reading PS Vita blogs
I am playing Jetset Radio (Jet Grind Radio) Double Dragon Neon, Infamous, Boarderlands, and Mortal Kombat (vita)
      I am watching Modern Family
I am reading Batgirl written by Gail Simone!!!
I am listening to Kylie Minogue, Psy Gangam Style, and Ms Minaj

    • *I know power stone is available to play as a PSP port on the vita, but I want trophy support*

    • I am playing Dark Souls. Yikes, a week between trophies. So punishing. I love it. As long as everybody else whines about ridiculous requests, I’ll add mine: Dark Souls on the Vita, with cross play!

Listening to the latest blog cast with only 2 amigos this week.
