Its out on the PS3 PSN not the vita… major let down if you ask me. Was really looking forward to putting this on the vita. Some members at neogaf report that it works if you purchase it on the ps3 and dl it for the recent list on the vita but others report it doesn’t. Try your luck.

That statement tends to avoid some of the reality. Strictly a PS3 user, not PSP or Vita. My original PS and PS2 crapped out many years ago, and was really excited about how the PS Store was building up the collection being playable on the PS3. Then I could have almost all on my PS3. But alas, Final Fantasy 4 has yet to come out. And now this kink of the original Final Fantasy 3, that was never before released in North America, is only for portable users.

Square-Enix really knows how to undermine their truest fans. Especially since merging with the Enix team. This cross-platform marketing with titled series, is really dirty business at times and I cannot afford to buy a platform just for one or even a few games. This is a slight “slap in the face” to the original fans from the late 1980′s, early 1990′s.

Just a sad scenario, considering I’ve been a loyal fan of Square’s games in the past.

I understand why Square is releasing it for the PSP and not the Vita. They just don’t want to do the extra work of putting trophies in the game. I am sure it will work on the Vita but I have doubts that it will work day 1, the the blogcast said it will work on vita but a sony rep afterwards informed IGN that it was an incorrect statement. As long as it works before the end of 2012 I’ll be ok.
