At current count, Kratos has decimated 23 of Greek mythology’s most important gods and people. And so far, the God of War Facebook community has voted three of those from Kratos’ “Olympian Hit List” (Zeus, Cronos, and Thanatos) on to our “God of War’s Top 5 Epic Moments” list. What’s the trend? The most epic moments in the God of War: Saga are always when Kratos is fueled by revenge, moving mountains, and defying impossible odds to destroy any mythological super power that gets in his way.
We’re on to our #3 greatest epic moment — this boss battle is arguably the grandest of them all. The word “epic” doesn’t always mean large in a physical nature, but the battle at the beginning of God of War III personifies the term handily. When I think of God of War III, I always remember the first 45 minutes of the game before anything else because of this epic boss battle. What about you? I dare you to disagree with me…

Im still holding out for the Fight with His brother Hercules as #1.
I don’t know about No. 2, so far the list’s been hit and miss for me (No. 3 seems appropriate), but No. 1 can only be this one:
No. 1 The power to kill a God. Opening Pandora’s Box and killing Ares, then sitting on the throne as the God Of War!
This actually would’ve been my #1 or #2… Interested to see what they are but at least it sure won’t be fighting against Zeus in God of War 3 that sure was a disappointment.
mmm..I think Poseidon should be number 1. I dont think there is a moment more epic than that in the whole GOW franchise.
Considering this not number 1, then the fight against 100 evil kratos to save his family in GOW1, should be number 1.

3rd? hmm.. not IMO.. because not only was fighting Poseidon’s water dragons epic but when you expel Poseidon from the chest you get to beat the hell outta him from his POV which btw was very satisfactory and this should of been number 1.
I personally think #2 will be Hurcules and #1 will be against the Hydra.
The Hydra set the mark for what boss battles are going to be like for the rest of the God of War franchise. That boss fight, when playing it the very first time literally made my jaw drop.
I think you can say the same for 99.99% of everyone else who faced the Hydra for the first time and were floored.
Two more weeks and we’ll find out. =)

I think number one is hercules fight because of the music and the time it takes to kill him, i lost the count on how many times i replayed this battle over and over because of its epicness.

The fight against the sister of time while they are over the golden sword in middle of the final fight against ares in god of war 1. this was e-p-i-c

Number one has to be Kratos grabbing up the statue’s sword to kill Hades with it. I didn’t even expect that. Kratos just walked over loosened the sword and killed Hades with it.

What about the Colossus battle form GoW2?
What about that battle when Kratos fought the sisters of fate and also the battle with Theseus both in GOW 2?

i think this should be number 1. I remember the first time playin GOW3 fighting poseidon i was so in to it. cheering cratos on i woke my girlfriend up and my daughter. looking back at the games that is pretty much all i can remember jus amazing fight.
The best fight from all. And the hardest!

*Spoiler alert* i think number one or two will be the fight with Zeus in GOW 2 right before he accidentally kills athena. the fight with Zeus in GOW 3 was terribly weak.

Can anyone tell me why God of war 3 isnt being released as part of the God of war saga in the playstation store tomorrow? God of war saga defines as all 5 games how can you call it saga with God of war 3 not included in the store release and why not bring digitally already its over 2 1/2 years old it would be about time especially with God of war ascension releasing around the corner Im very dissapointed and btw the other four games have been in playstation store over a year most of us have them already what kind of sense does this make?

There are so many epic moments in the GOW series it really is hard to choose, all these listed could have been number 1 easily.
I am so pumped up for Acension, GOW is the best series in gaming of all time…. for me anyway.
