Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock on PS Vita Tuesday

In response to many, many questions from PS Vita owners, I’m delighted to officially announce that the PS Vita version of Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock will be available to download from the PlayStation Store next week on October 9th in the US and October 10 in Europe! The PS Vita version of the game will have several new features that we’ve been working on the past few months.

One example are the new PS Vita controls, which utilize the combination of the dual analog stick controls and PS Vita’s touchscreen features, enabling players to switch between the more traditional controls and the ability to tap the screen to affect the action. All of the puzzle games within the game have been reworked to make full use of touchscreen controls as well.

We’re also tapping into “near”, PS Vita’s geo-social service. Using “near”, players can collect “Gallifreyan” medals while playing through the adventure and then drop them in a GPS location for other players to collect. Grow your collection while searching for other players’ medals!

We’ll also support PS Vita’s Cloud Save option for players who own Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock on both PS3 and PS Vita in the form of “Continuation Play.” This enables you to save your game on one device and load it on the other, which means you can continue your adventure while you’re on the move with your PS Vita and then pick it back up from the same place at home on your PS3.

We hope that you enjoy Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock on the PS Vita and want to thank all our fans for the support! To stay up-to-date on all things Eternity Clock, follow us on Twitter @DoctorWhoTEC.

  • Big Doctor Who fan so I’m definitely excited to pick this up on Tuesday, I do have a few questions though.

    1) Will this have cross-buy? And if not, will the price be kept low for those that want to purchase both versions?

    2) Will there be a Platinum trophy? And if so, will this be for both PS3 and Vita, meaning that we get two if we earn either one?

Thanks for the answers and I look forward to the release!

  • Awesome! I’m a huge Doctor Who fan as well a huge fan of the Vita. So I guess I’ll be purchasing this next week!

Just one question, what is the US price?

  • Yay finally.. critical question.. will there be another PS3 update? The last update basically wipes your game save to nothing. I still have my good save in the PS+ cloud thankfully. The cross save is pointless if I can’t use my PS3 save. Thanks.

  • I will have so many bugs as we have today on PS3 version? I hope not!

  • This update save issue occurs for users of both EU/NA versions of the game.

  • never really been interested in this series. I understand that its really popular overseas and even in NA. But i tried watching a couple episodes and it just felt really cheesy and low budget. lol

That was years ago though, so i might try watching a random episode of the newest season to see if my opinion has changed.

  • @ Ryumoau

If you want an excellent introductory episode. Watch “The Eleventh Hour” (Season 5, Episode 1). It was the first episode with Matt Smith as the Doctor and it was the episode that hooked me.

  • @7: That is how I fewl, but my boyfriend watches it. Still cheesy ans lame to me, but hey, not everything needs to appeal to me. So I avoid it.

  • I’ve been waiting for this for six months

  • Awesome news! been waiting how long. Granted i got the ps3 version, but will gladly buy the Vita version just to show my support. hopefully we get more Doctor Who titles.

  • Those screenshots look embarrassingly bad. The kind of quality I’d expect to see from a TV-to-3DS game.

  • I would be happy to buy the PS3 version but the price doesn’t feel like it’s worthy enough for me to get it. If the PS Vita version is as the same price or higher than the PS3 version, I’ll be bummed out about it. I guess I’ll wait until either the price goes down or the opportunity to buy it (which is in a very long time).

  • @7 I am amaze by your honesty, and not being like others thinking thay have to like it because others do. Also i am glad they gave a realease date, because i’ve been checking for an update every single day since june 12 andam glad to hear news.

  • Very excited to be playing Doctor Who: TEC on my Vita!! Thank you for not giving up on this!

  • Man, how long since this game was planned to release? Gotta watch some videos again to remind me what this is.

  • What the heck. I am glad the game was only 9.99, but…. River has no face! Also the puzzles are not touch control friendly, please include the regular controlls also.

  • The cross buy thing did not work for me i bought then both on ps3 and ps vita

  • This game has a platinum trophy and lots of hidden trophys.

  • Even though it says above, “We’ll also support PS Vita’s Cloud Save option for players who own Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock on both PS3 and PS Vita in the form of “Continuation Play.” This enables you to save your game on one device and load it on the other, which means you can continue your adventure while you’re on the move with your PS Vita and then pick it back up from the same place at home on your PS3.” I have the following error which appears when trying to download the game save from cloud to PS3:

“Operation could not be completed. Online ID does not match that of cloud data”

Spoke to the PSN network in the UK and they say this error is due to the game save from the PS Vita to PS3 being incompatible.

I believe this is a misrepresentation and in the UK if this is true then the game has been mis-advertised.

Anyone clear this up? Have raised it in the forums too.
