We hope you’ve been keeping track of all the recent updates on PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale news, from an in-depth update on the PS Vita version to our behind-the-scenes look at mashing up different worlds, we’ve shown you what this game is shaping up to be…and we think it’s high time you try it out for yourselves!
Today, we’re happy to announce that the PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale Beta will kick off for PlayStation Plus members on PS3 tomorrow, October 16th and expand to everyone October 23rd through PlayStation Store! What’s more, as a special treat, PS Vita users will be able dive right into the multiplayer beta starting tomorrow – no Plus subscription required. The Beta will support Cross-Play, so PS3 and PS Vita owners will be able to fight with and against each other.
So what will be in this limited Beta?
- You’ll be able to play as Kratos, Sweet Tooth, Colonel Radec, Sly Cooper, PaRappa, and Fat Princess.
- You’ll be able to play in both the Metropolis and Hades stages.
- You’ll be able to try out four-player online tournaments and 2 v 2 online tournaments. For the 2 v 2 games we’ll be supporting friend invites, so you and a friend can fight another team online.
This, of course, is only a tiny fraction of what PlayStation All-Stars has to offer, but we thought you’d love the chance to try it early and see what all the buzz is about. Be sure to hop on quickly as we’ll be ending the Beta on October 30th!
But that’s not all. As you know, we have a pre-order program running right now that unlocks a set of exclusive costumes in the game. Today we’re happy to unveil the rest of the costumes you’ll be getting with your pre-order of PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale.
Unlocked with your pre-order at participating retailers, these costumes will work for both the PS3 and PS Vita when it releases on November 20th, so be sure to reserve your copy today. And don’t forget: PlayStation All-Stars features Cross-Buy support, so if you purchase the PS3 version, you’ll get a downloadable PS Vita version for no extra cost.

I’m the same as e’rybody else. I’m eagerly on my Vita, but patiently waiting to ‘connect’ to a game. Hopefully this will happen before the night is over. Feel free to add me, or send me a message if my Gtag is to hard to remember. The more friends the better I say. I’ve already pre-ordered Ragnarok Odyssey Online so I’ll be willing to party up for that game as well. Phantasy Star Online 2 is also on my list to get. Vita baby!!

The beta is amazing! I love this game wow lol. Now I am ready to preorder since my expectations were exceeded by far..
I liked it, but there were no characters in the Beta that I like… I’m aiming to Drake, and hopefully Ezio/Connor or Snake with a some luck Cloud…. but, until that happens I’m getting Persona 4 The Golden First.
it happened again- i picked sly cooper, then when the fight started i was kratos
i think i know what the number is for, its how they pair up fighters…the higher the number the harder the enemy, rank 205 atm

So after playing the Beta for both Ps3 & Ps Vita, I gotta say thank you to Sony, Superbot & Bluepoint for working so hard to get this game right. I can tell that different people will gravitate to & like different characters. The fact that everyone plays differently is awesome and the fact that everyone will be unlocked day 1 is also awesome. Though some of you may wish to unlock characters along the way forcing us to play with each character, but I believe that giving us choices is still smart.The reason is because its almost like giving a kid a whole candy store, or a Stoner 500 kinds of weed. We almost wont know where to start because it will be so exciting. I am having a brain screw just debating about evil cole, raiden & Dante, or Ratchet and clank..seee…Most likely most of us will go with who ever our favorite character was and move on from there..All I know is tht we must spread the word to as many people as possible to give this game a try and a chance…get to blogging people..
i had a chance to get into 2 or 3 matches, but i find the game really difficult. Its a combination of other players being really good and me sucking at this. I hope this game has alot of single player content like Smash Bros Brawl, otherwise i think i’ll just skip on this game.

Maybe its just me but I feel that Kratos is a bit unbalanced
Kratos definitely felt unbalanced to me as well. I have really high hopes for this game and have it preordered, but so far im honestly a little disappointed. Maybe its just the style that the only way you can kill someone is with a super. Something about it just doesnt feel near as crisp and competitive as SSB.
If anyone care my opinion… You should chance the menu and the character selec stage, nothing else. But i love the gameplay!
I have a question: If i buy this in the store do i have for vita too? There is another gift?

Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale Is Going To Be Better On PS Vita Then On PS3
It’s been pretty fun so far, I just don’t like having to turn on my Vita’s mic in order to play the game online. It would’ve been nice to include a single player mode that isn’t practice for those of us who don’t like playing online. I’ll definitely pick up a copy for my Vita if Kat ends up being DLC. Good job on the game!
Is this beta out just for the US…cause i cant find it anywhere in EU store…not for ps3,not for ps vita…and the store is still the same old one…with the old design!!! :/ dissapointed………
Wait, what online tournament?
I don’t know why mine does not work. It gives the following error code:
Failed to connect all clients

Anyone else having this problem? My other online games work fine!
Not saying it needs stock, exactly, but I’d like to know when I’m about to die and how many times I can die. Other than that, I’m quite satisfied with this beta.

This game is going to suck. I would rather play Super Mario Bros 3 on the NES then play All Stars Battle Royale garbage.

I’m loving this beta. It’s a lot of fun. I can’t wait for the final game. I put in my pre-order after my first day playing the beta.
One thing I did notice is that it tries to connect you again, Sometimes when it connects you again, it changes your character. I only have connection issues 10% of the time.
One other thing I notice is that there are a lot of connection errors when a match goes overtime.
I’m experiencing the same thing as #338. Would be nice if they’d let us know why it’s not available to non-Plus members yet when they said it would…

Um I don’t mean to bother you but today’s October 23rd which is the day you guys said the beta would expand to the public. It shows the beta on new releases but its still only accessible if you have PlayStation Plus. I was just hoping you could fix that ASAP. Thanks for your time! :)

Hmm I to have also waiting all weak to play myself. Eh i’ll wait the only character that is in the beta is Sly Cooper. No Nathan Drake, No Big Daddy & No Spike. Im going to play more blazblue for the moment. If not today then tomorrow
& What i mean by Sly Cooper is the only character that i personally want to play in the game.
It’s up now,but i gotta wait for the 40-50 minute download.
I hope it will have Crash and Spyro in it as well! And some Resistance characters as well! Hope theres more characters then whats displayed so far.
