As you may have noticed, the new PlayStation Store for PlayStation 3 is now available in the United States, Canada, Brazil and Mexico. Great new features like streaming trailers, improved search, new filter and sort options, as well as improved graphics, more game and video information, and easier access to add-ons are just some of the highlights.
With so much content available, it’s a great time to jump in and check it out. We value your feedback and will continue to make enhancements, so please let us know what you think in the comment section below.
New store is slow as dirt, and ridiculously tedious/frustrating to navigate. Seriously; It really sucks. You put in all of this effort to make it look “pretty”, but it is NOT user-friendly and that should have been the top priority. This terrible store only makes me not want to buy games off of it because it’s too much of a chore. But hey, be my guest keeping this trash if you like losing sales.

I´m having problems with the new PSN.
I bougth Trine 2 sometime ago, and it doesn´t show like i did it in this NEW store.
They key to unlock the game is in my download list, but my concern is about the store want it me to charge 14.99$ again. For me is faster to go to the store to download the games again.
You all should check on your purchased games and see if you have any problems with them…This is very sad day.

@140 You can automatically jump to filters by pressing triangle. That way you don’t have to scroll back up every time.
I don’t like it either. It took too much time to search for a game that it is annoying. For example, I was looking for the game Papo & Yo, and I selected the letter P, and the search took me through the entire alphabet with hundreds of alternatives between games and videos. I got tired and bored. So, I went back and searched by the letter Y. Well, what do you know? The first game under the letter Y is Papo & Yo. Isn’t that ironic? Please, fix it. Thank you.

I like the new design. However, I’m still disappointed that they didn’t make it any easier to go through your downloaded list. I’ve had a PS3 since the early days of the system, so I’ve downloaded quite a lot of stuff for it. So it’s always a pain when I want to go back and re-download a game or dlc and I have to search all the way for it through over a 1000 items. Would be nice if they added a skip feature or pages to the download list so I won’t have to sit there and hold the down button for 10 mins.

I have to give you some respect, Playstation. You tried to revamp one of the most used areas on the PS3 by giving it a more modern appearance. However, this “New Store” has too many issues to be of any use. As stated by others, the loading times are quite slow compared to the old store. You seem to be trying to appeal to a different audience by making it look more like the Xbox interface. The problem here is that you’re Playstation, not Microsoft. I don’t want my store to look like I just turned on my Xbox. I play PS3 for a reason.
Again, I have to give you guys some respect for trying to change things up, but change always recieves opposition. Please, not just for me, but for everyone, change the store back, or at least allow people to choose which interface to use.
I love it. Yes, it’s a bit slow, but it does not make it unbrowsable. The hi-res design, the interface, and the Dolby Digital 5.1 sound is OUTSTANDING. I don’t understand why they removed some content from the old store. The search engine is better for me, and overall i found it GREAT. The only thing bad for me it’s that there is TOO MUCH CATEGORIES, some that are completely useless and ridiculous for me, making things confusing (before was “New Releases”, now you have “New Releases”, “New Arrivals” and “Hot Releases” LOL) and… now the tops are top 10s. before we had TOP 20’s… excluding that 2 things, i think its SUPERB.
Please, please, please provide an option to use the old storefront, even if it’s not the default and only temporarily. It was well organized, easy to browse through, and had a lot of nice features added over time.
However, I find the new storefront to be… just a baffling ordeal. I’ve spent over $3,000 on the PS Store over the years with more and more each year, but I can’t see that trend continuing with the new store’s current form. And it’s simply because of the difficulty of finding and browsing through content. Most of the issues I have with it will probably be addressed over time, though I doubt I’ll ever like the design… too gaudy and cluttered, but who knows how long that’ll take. That’s why it would be great to have the ability to use the old as a backup, whilst the new evolves to eventually become the end game. I know it would certainly keep me buying in the interim.

Like other users have mentioned in this post, I too believe the store revamp is elegant and amazing. Extra fun to browse for stuff. I believe once people give it a week or two, they’ll adjust and get used to the versatility the new design offers. Plus, I got a 5 dollar credit just to try it out!!! OKAMI here I come!!!!!!!!
Anyway, some of the outlandish childlike behavior of these people is getting ridiculous…. This is why I don’t tell anyone that I’m a gamer. All you whiners make me look bad…. smh, geez…. GROW UP!!! Get out and smell the Roses more often.
Anyway, the new store is AWESOME and I really dig it. If it could just speed up on the initial load up a bit, maybe that would help all these cry babies.

I haven’t check out the new PSN Store yet sense i’m busy and do you guys at Sony plan to make this new design layout for PS Vita Store as well? If so i love to see how it looks on 5 inch screen on PS Vita and hope the download list gets revamp as well soon. New way to check our download list would be very helpful for users.

doesnt let me download the new most wanted ——> pisssed off. This store sucks, the load time sucks, the other one was better. Sony, plz fix the goddamn problem with purchasing and STOP REMOVING MY COMMENTS. I am just giving my opinion.
The issues I have with the new store are:
-It loads slower when starting up, browsing through and purchasing content, possibly because it’s web-based like the store’s first iteration and not a native app like the second. This also serves to exasperate many of the other issues.
-General bugginess like not being able to find certain games, movies, etc. even when manually searching for them.
-Search function is clunky,the keyboard definitely needs to be added. Also, there needs to be an option to search the descriptions of videos with a keyword like the old storefront had. It’s really useful when you’re not exactly sure what to watch and browsing by genres is too general. Might as well add cast and crew search, too.
-Bring back the ability to browse content that has been separated alphabetically, not just sorted alphabetically. It’s frustrating having to browse through lists that may have 1,000+ items, particularly when you want to go back and look at an item that starts with B when you’re on S.
Gonna miss the lively and playful feeling of the blue color instead of this darky… thing.
The new psn store is waaaay better, so I don’t know why everybody is crying don’t be afraid of change :)
Why not add an option to make it look with the same blue color the old shop had (or many other colors) as background keeping the rest of the interface as it is?.
-Bring back the ability to browse through content by their title. For example, if I wanted to browse the avatars I would have to scroll through all 2,000+ of them even if I had no interest in the ones associated with many of the games. If there wasn’t something that I liked in the first 50 or so, I’ll just give up.
-Some other issues are: unnecessary steps to find information on and purchase content; removal of the ability to mute the sound; removal of the ability to customize items per row. These issues are rather petty, but they do add to the overall… not-as-good-as-what-it-replaced-ness.
Phew, that was a lot of whining… the filter is cool though.
Bioshock 1 only appears if you specifically search for it. It’s 19.99 but if you use the 10$-20 filter for example it doesn’t show up.
Please fix the download list its slow it take forever to search make it filter for what your searching for make it abc order and filter your search and please make Dragon Ball Z Shin Budokai Another Road Work on PS VITA i bought it off the psn store and it does not work
I personally Digg the new store no complaints. Everything is right in front of you and easily accesible :)
You should have spent all this time making a PS Store optimized for computer web browsers. I rarely “window shop” the PS Store because it’s not as fast and smooth as it could be and I get bored and leave. I have a fast connection but there is still too much buffering going on. I usually only go in there not to browse, but when I already know what I want.
Another example: I rarely browse the Google Play store from my phone unless I have to because using it from my PC with a mouse and keyboard and tabbed browsing is so much easier and faster. The store loads instantly on a PC web browser. You buy an app or game from your PC and it’s automatically downloaded into your Android phone or tablet. Having something similar for the PS3 and Vita would be amazing and I would “window shop” in the PS Store much more often if I could do it from my PC’s web browser, which means I’d be more likely to buy stuff since I would be going there more often.
I’ve been trying to give the store a chance, but it keeps getting stuck while loading pages. So far the store has been unusable to me.
Also, I have to agree that the sound when selecting something should be changed. It sounds like an error is popping up.
for some reason it doesn’t make me want to stay and browse all day , when you use the scrolling letter thingy it should show you images of whats available including all dlc themes video , not a text result.

Same as vigiland said, add-ons should show games instead of actual random add-ons, it doesn’t make sense at all.
And why can’t all games have at least a trailer? I had to try a bunch before finding one that had a trailer…

I like the new store. My only real complaint is that you guys managed to make the download list worse. It’s as if you guys didn’t listen at all what we had to say about the download list and after the statement made at the end of the last video about the new store, I feel lied to. He said you guys were listening to us, but this shows that you didn’t. For one, you mixed our videos and games downloads together when before, we would only see certain downloads based on what section of the store we’re in (games or video). Sure it looks prettier, but that doesn’t help us find thing to redownload quicker. We asked to be able to sort through our downloads, not have them all in one place.
@chuckbait: I thought the same thing about the videos, but hen after pausing (press x) and then playing, it strated to play. try that.
I think the new store design is awesome! There are some games missing, such as a couple Move games, but it’s otherwise a much better interface. And I prefer the sound effects much more – I used to turn the volume down every time I booted up the old store.
To those that have a gripe about the new store, address it – they’re more likely to actually be able to do something about it in this new store.
My biggest complaints are as follows:
1)Obviously the initial loading time is much slower
2)I actually find browsing to be a lot slower. For example, when I want to look at the PS+ free games, it used to be a simple list of games I could read quickly. Now it is a screen full of pictures of the games that takes me longer to look through and process — and the red shopping bag that told me I had already bought it was much more noticeable before and much more useful than the new marking for purchased content.
3)The steps for purchasing content (especially simple free ps+ content like an avatar) is ridiculous. All I wanted to do was download a free avatar and there were like 7 steps. That has to be fixed, right?
My biggest suggestion is bringing back the big red shopping bag to stamp games we have already bought. It was much more visually useful.
If you want to take it one step further, I would suggest an alternate mode for viewing sections of the store. Let us seamlessly transition between list mode with a vertical list of the games in that section like before, and bookshelf mode like it is now with all of the pictures of the games.
I was gonna give a bunch of reasons, but they’re all listed in the comments. So I’ll just say I really HATE it! I don’t care about style. Can we have anything practical? We don’t even have the signature start up sound anymore. Go back. I really hate it.

At first I was ambivalent about the store change but now I’m trying to get in to re-download a game and it’s telling me the “network is not available” what the heck is going on?? My internet is working fine is this some sort of maintenance? If it is, it would be nice if Sony would let us know! If this keeps up you’re going to lose a TON of sales & customers. Not good, Sony.

I like the new store. But there should be a option to go back to the old style. also why isnt there a option for themes and avatars. And why is there a photo of RE5 being free for plus? I thought you guys would learn since there were so many questions asking if it was true or not.
Just because some people are having an easy time searching, doesn’t invalidate the problems that other people are having and didn’t have with the old layout.
The simplest fix for most of the complaints would to a) allow the old store layout as a viewing option and b) return the By Game (PS3, PSN, PSP, etc…) categories that the add-on section always had.
Oh and fixing all those games that people own, but can no longer download and the rest of the missing store items would be nice.
Not sure how items being missing/the store not letting you download something you own isn’t a valid complaint.
I wonder why can’t companies have people with real common sense within their staff that get most fundamental things right from the beginning? they throw horrible things at us that show they don’t have it at all. It’s disgusting to have to tell you that the new search should have a keyboard and the browsing is actually slower and downloading anything takes 7 steps. People should be fired for these things.
The new store is a great improvement to deliver contents easier and faster, but it obviously lacks the speed and overall performance of the old one. Though it provides good tweaks like for instance, being able to see all the contents of a particular game in one screen. Sadly as I said it needs improvements. It is very slow, and the opening sound it makes it is awful. Also, I consider that the worst thing that it lost is the ability to be accessed through remote play with the Ps Vita. Though remote play it is limited, accessing the store through it was one of the few things that made it worth of being used.
I liked and I dislike it so far, but if I had to choose between the old one and the new store, I’ll go with the old store.

So we took a store that used to load instantly and provide one-click access to all the latest additions, and we’ve made it into a store that takes 30-60 seconds to load and makes you click into five different areas just to check for all the new stuff. Typical Sony. The best hardware in the business, yet somehow they still don’t understand software and basic ease of use.
