  • Hello I’m from Mexico, I can’t add my cc to the mexican store it shows a message that the cc number is wrong I used to buy with this cc and I can’t anymore I hope you fix this problem quickly because a lot of users have the same problem just read the latam forums btw there are no admins there and users never get an answer for problems like this.

  • Okay I love the design of the new store. I think some people just don’t like change. Here are my few complaints. Number 1, it does take a while to load initially. Number 2, the sound effects are not all that good or catchy at all. Now, what I would like to see is using cross controller functionality with the Vita to view or search the store. Using an onscreen keyboard on the Vita would be very easy for searching the store. Would be nice to have additional content for a game that is being browsed displayed on the Vita screen, or even gameplay video. (I guess this should go in the Blog Share section)

  • I love the new design its very stylish but, the things I don’t like are that the sound effects kinda suck , it takes a little while to load but other than that I am happy with it ! ^^

  • The old store worked well. It wasn’t broken and didn’t need fixing. Sorry.

  • So I was attempting to search for add-ons for Atelier Meruru, but seeing as the add-on section is 100% useless, I tried searching for the bloody game with the horrid vertical keyboard. Apparently the game doesn’t exist — I’m also not seeing Atelier Rorona, Record of Agarest War 2, or Trinity Universe.

What the heck Sony, what other games are magically missing?

I also really liked the minimalist view of the older store, where you could see 12 items (particularly add-ons) on the screen at the same time, and quickly scroll through them. Now, I’ve no idea how the add-ons are sorted on the game page (it’s neither price, release date, nor name), and it takes forever to find what you’re looking for since there’s no order to it, and they’re so massive, you can only look at two at a time.

It feels like the apple store redesign, where they removed the massive list and replaced it with a giant block that you can only look at one-by-one.

Using Tales of Graces f as an example, all of the add-ons used to be separated by type under the game itself, now it’s just a jumbled mess.

  • This new store is HORRIBLE. Its like the PSN got drunk with Windows 8 and vomited all over my screen. Its too much to have to search around for stuff. The sound is AWFUL. PLEASE SONY, give us the option to select the old layout.

  • Dear god, I don’t mean to be so negative but this is terrible. It takes forever to go through things or find what you’re looking for. The new search function is just *horrid*. The design in general is just an eyesore. The way of listing in many instances just doesn’t make sense. And I just LOVE how things like the Playstation Plus banner at the top make it so you can only see two rows of items. Seriously, just great.
At the very least give us an option for the old version.

  • the download list

  • I really don’t like the store, it’s confusing, and from playing around with it. I seem to have problem finding some DLC (Call of Duty Black Ops for example). Can we have back the old one, while you fix the new one?

  • Please add an option to switch viewing modes to a vertical list of titles within each section. I’m not a fan of the screen full of pictures for browsing. All I want is a vertical list of game titles.

Bringing back the red shopping bag that stamps games you’ve already bought would help too.

And anything you can do to simplify the checkout process would be much appreciated. Especially for demos and free content — the multiple steps required is a bit silly.

  • I like how most of the supporters of the store have such simple posts. “I like it, it goes fast for me” and usually completely ignore all the other, some very serious issues the store has.

The people who support it that do say more tend to be the same, but they also insult the people who don’t like it using terms like whiner and crybaby.

So you really think it’s okay this store has a ton of content missing, categories that make no sense instead of things like sort by game. Being asked to repurchase things is okay? Not being able to download things is ok? I’d continue, but we have a character limit here.

I agree some people are complaining about things that don’t matter so much, but there are many valid complaints regarding the new store and all the problems people are having, regardless of whether you like the new look (it’s ok) or can find things (personally don’t like the new search).

What does it say about the new store, I wonder, when the most vocal supporters are acting like the ‘jerk’ the side requests you not be…

  • I think a option to go back to the old theme way look and functions would be nice… I understand what going on with the store. But it was better to find what you where looking for faster inthe old ways.

Look’s dont make sales a good product sales it self also simple fast service.. beilive it or not more people shop dollar tree than walmart, not becuase of the price of 1$ but becuase of the look, a simplistic look and everything easer to find, faster service. I I hope you guys consider and implement a throw back look to the store in future updates if that is possible < not to discredit all your hard work becuase it is appricated alot and done well

  • The New Store Sucks!
    Bring Back The Old Store!
I was dreading this day since I had tried it out weeks ago in the EU store.
And just as I thought it still sucks.. its too slow and its a lot more difficult searching for the games you want using the search feature.
It Just Plain Sucks! We Don’t Like It!
It Will Definitely Reduce The Visits I Make To The Store… And Purchases I would Have Made. =(

  • This is broken. Seriously. The difficulty of using the store weird, was it play tested at all? It took me over an hour to grab DLC for Record of Agarest War 2. Also I could not even find the game in the store, when searching it does not show in the results, though the first game and the prequel do. I had this problem for multiple games. Add-ons are where, I would think, most of the revenue from the Playstation Store is from, why is there no option to sort by game? Seriously?

  • I personally think the new store is amazing! You have somehow managed to increase the visual experience, while decreasing load times, and increasing fluidity! At least that’s how I have experienced it.

  • You have to wonder about the folks at Sony sometimes. I understand they wanted to update the look of the store. But their implementation lacks big time. Its like it was designed by government bureaucrats. I mean, knowing that the PS3 is such a powerful console, the new PS Store makes it seem like its running like molasses.

Navigation is slow, loading is slow(I know its not my broadband since I have 30+ Mbps down/3 Mbps up service). The layout is confusing.

Unfortunately, it seems that Sony when it takes a step forward, they tend to go 10 steps back.

  • The reason you got around faster in the old ways was because you were used to it. It was familiar. Now, this comes along and disrupts your muscle memory and habits slightly and, to you, the world is ending.

The reason people call the complainers whiners is because hardly anyone is providing any concrete examples of usability issues. “I can’t find anything.” isn’t a valid criticism, it’s a whine. Provide an example of why you can’t find something.

Blanket, general statements provide absolutely zero useful feedback and makes you come off an ADHD having teenagers who don’t know how to provide proper criticism or feedback.

If given the option, people will always do what they’ve always done. That’s the problem with most. They don’t want to have to adapt or learn a new interface, even if it is vastly improved. I know, different is scary, but I promise you’ll make it through and be better for it.

  • What I like:
    1. Streaming Videos
    2. Softer color scheme

    What needs to change ASAP!:
    1. SOUNDS (who gave those the go ahead? Sounds like a piano fell over.)
    2. It is hard to tell which background stuff goes with the tiles.
    3. Let me get a free piece of content without the full checkout process.
    4. Big one here, The store is no longer accessible in remote play. The only reason I use remote play is to cue up downloads when I am not in fron of the PS3.
    5. The download section is difficult to sort through. I need to see more of the list, or add a search.

On a side note, please bring back Qore. That was the reason I bought PSPlus in the first place.

  • @269: Except people did provide examples such as games being placed into the wrong categories, pages load slower, many videos do not work, hell SOME GAMES NO LONGER EVEN SHOW UP UNLESS YOU MANUALLY TYPE THEM IN THE SEARCH! Even worse; Some games are straight up gone or are trying to charge you again for ones you purchased already. There’s plenty to complain about and it’s all valid. So you being incapable of reading those complaints posted means those people are whiny? So be it, but I’ll just dismiss you as someone who lacks any reading comprehension and/or a blind Sony mark that would smile if they placed a flaming bag of poop on your doorstep.

  • Worst interface I’ve used since the X360 Dashboard, Ubuntu’s Unity and Windows’ “Metro”. Longer to load by miles, and pretty much everything is a mess compared to how easy the original store was to use.

As I have often said this past year.. gotta love the new mentality of style before efficiency.

  • I really hate to criticize Sony about the PS3 because I like what they have done with Plus and other stuff so far, but wow…..

I have to agree with what’s been echoed so much here.

1)The sound the store makes when you move through the store does tend to get on the annoying side, a feature to switch this off would be nice.

2)The store definitely does take more time to load and is annoying. I have 20Mbps internet, so its not like I have crappy internet or something, I never have had any issues with download speeds. I’m so used to being able to open up the PS Store and look for things to buy, this update greatly increases the load time. Another thing too is the way the pages seem to have to load each time you go to another screen and there’s multiple graphical icons, just makes the whole experience seems sluggish and slow.

3)The focal point of the store for me, Playstation Plus: Why does half the page need to be taken up by the words Playstation Plus? This makes for a horrible eyesore and irritating experience when I have to go back and view the list of games from the preview mode. Again, totally makes for a undesirable browsing experience.

  • 4)It is so much more confusing to download things now. Why should it take like 7 steps to download something? This is more irritating than anything else and what happened to the red bag next to items you have already downloaded?

These are just some of the things I have thought about, I’m sure other people have valid concerns as well. I appreciate the effort into revamping the store and making it a bit more modern, but there come a time when you have to admit, “we messed up” and do something about it. At this point, I just wish I could go back to the old store.

  • i dont know if im the only one experiencing this but the new psn lags on my end… and yet i have a really good internet speed, i perfer the orignial psn… is there a way i can switch back?

  • @273: To add to you comment on half of the screen estate being taken up by a stupid logo; To make it even worse the bottom bar covers up part of the games list in an already tiny space for the games.

In the old store I preferred to set it up for the “list” format instead of icons. This one we’re stuck with giant, screen wasting icons and no way to change it and (as you said) half of the screen being taken up by a logo. No way sub categories to browse individual letters of the alphabet (which was really convenient).

The only thing I’m glad about is that usb keyboard support is still there for manual searches, because that search wheel is super suck and has been for any device/app that uses it.

  • The ONLY thing I ever used remote play for was to access the Store and now you have removed this feature? Why do you guys always remove features from everything? Major disappointment.

  • Dear Sony,

    The new store update SUCKS.

I have been a ps3 user for a long time now, I never comment on this blog but this store update requires that I communicate to you.

It is BAD, I know you aren’t going to go back to the old one, but you asked for our opinions on this.
Its a little more flashy but I’m not in the store for flash, I’m in it for the content, which is now even harder scroll through, and it’s all over the place. I literally downloaded the update to go to the store (I was thinking about downloading the new assassins creed) and check out the games. But I was so displeased, for lack of a better word, that I had to get off and write you guys.

I’ve been a supporter through the years, when everyone was talking trash on here during the psn outage, I still thought you guys were doing your best, and way better than Xbox will ever be. But when you fix something that’s not broken it does not make sense. Like I said I doubt you will go back to the original, but maybe you could put an option for it. As I’ve seen many mixed comments about this.

Aside from the new store update, you guys rock, thanks for your time.

  • @sevyne You’re making a lot of assumptions about me as a person. You shouldn’t do that.

Regarding reading comprehension, I would advise you take your own advice and go back over my comment. I said hardly anyone, indicating that there are some, albeit a minority, that are providing valid criticism with actionable feedback. That’s good. I criticized the blanket general statements of “I can’t find anything.” or “I hate the new store.”

  • This store update is really bad. I’m a graphic designer, so it’s driving me nuts.

    -Way too cluttered
-Way too graphic intensive for no real reason, make the pictures smaller and the font bigger
-Why switch from blue to black and red?
-Download list takes even longer to navigate
    -Generally confusing layout

    And most importantly…
-Make it not look like ‘the other guys’ store.

Just make it optional to select the old store, that would solve everything. All the old store really needed was a way to sort prices from high to low and it would do everything this new update does but be way more attractive and easy to navigate.

  • Looks great, but as others already pointed out way too slow to load up and close store.

  • Not sure if its been mentioned earlier or not but I’d really like to see the red own it mini icon and blue in cart mini icon back. The red one in particular is very helpful for figuring out if you have all the dlc for a game or not. Thanks.

  • The Add-Ons section is totally messed up.

There should be a “by Game” section instead of what specifically the Add-On is.

Now not only do I have to go through every single Add-On section to find all the Add-Ons for a single game, I have to shift through every Add-On item for every other game.

Do you know how many items there are in White Knight Chronicles? Or how many costumes there are for the Street Fighter games? There are hundreds of items for other games burying the few items for the game I want.

You could also apply the “by Game” option to other sections, but the Add-On section is pretty much impossible to navigate without it.

Other than this, the new store is pretty succinct and it’s honestly a fresh and new way to search for content. Nice job.

  • it’s good, but there are a few little tags in your categories that need to be fixed or added.

  • Oh, also, SFxT isn’t in “fighting” :P

  • FYI: For those who want to browse their download list a lot quicker. Use the following:

    1. Go to “Account Management” under the “PlayStation Network” icon and press “X”
    2. Select “Transaction Management” and press “X”
    3. Select “Download List” and press “X”

What will load will be your download list as it was on the old PS Store. Fast loading and quick to browse. Still wished they would have put a search feature in it though.

  • I HATE the new store with a passion. It’s a huge unintuitive mess. It’s like the feedback they based this new look off was simply “MOAR PICHURZ, less werds,” like they were catering it for an illiterate audience. I had the old store sorted in a list as opposed to small/med/large boxes, but now I’m forced to view everything in MASSIVE boxes.

also, simply just downloading demos is a long arduous process. It used to be download > download in background DONE! Now it’s add to cart, added, proceed to checkout, confirm free “purchase” of demo, download, download in background. Spoon feeding the masses much?

  • Alright, Sony. I’ll make a deal with you. This update is obviously style over substance, but I’ll live with the slow loading time and even the ridiculous checkout process if you just give me ONE thing — let me put the view mode into list mode instead of icon mode. Of course you need to work on the missing games and glitches as well, but list mode makes browsing so much nicer.

  • I’m not a big fan of the new store. Everything is mixed together and very hard to find. The search features blows because it doesn’t let me type what I want and it guesses what I want. I was trying to find PS1 games last night and gave up because it was too hard to search. The video features are nice and it is a good concept, but the original is way more user friendly….

  • I don’t like the loading at the beginning. The older store was almost instant. Not everything has vids to stream. I understand the search engine but using my keyboard for it is slow. Cause it searches for every single letter, it doesn’t allow me to type fast.

I like the look and layout. The what’s hot section is kinda dumb, cause its mostly the same stuff thats on whats new.

But, how bout that dev kit for ps4 huh? Does it really have 8 to 16gb or ram? Cause I’m pretty sure you guys are cheaper than that. If it does, it would make a lot of us happy. No separate gpu? I guess the rumors were true that next gen hardware will not be a leap in visuals.

  • You really need to have the download section organized so you can easily find purchased games, instead of looking through hundreds of demos! Maybe have a section for purchased, demos, apps, psn? I am really disappointed this was not done, please fix! Thanks

  • When is PS+ coming to Vita owners?

  • The new store is great ,loads a lot faster then the old store for me and I use a slow DSL connection, don’t listen to the crying just look at what there crying about. I don’t like the new store ,because I don’t want to take the time to learn how to use the new store and I don’t like the noise of the new store.

  • The new PS store looks amazing but it does seem confusing and takes awhile to find something specific like an add-on or game. Although it is something new and thus will get time to get use to.

  • @293: You really need to learn how to read if that’s what you think people are simply saying.

  • @biggunner7 You should take your own advice, and look at what we’re “crying” about. If you did, then you’d notice that we’re pointing out MAJOR flaws with the store, such as making us repurchase games we already own, miscategorization of numerous games, and games that are outright missing from the store entirely. If you can honestly sit here and say that this is nothing to be upset about, then you have a messed up view of how a store should work.

Sure, there are some minor complaints like the sound, and the utter uselessness of the add-on section, but that’s what this thread is for — to give FEEDBACK.

  • I never post here, but just had to stop by because of how much i dislike the new store. It feels way to crowded. Theres crap everywhere, thats the reason i hate xbox. Why turn ps3 into xbox? Sure people are saying “you dont like because its new and are not used to it” But its sad that im forced to get used to something I hate. I beg you to at least give us an option in account settings to choose which store we want to use. That way everyone wins. IM BEGGING

  • really great fun to navigate i love it!
really beeter t ouse for us ps+ member really enjoy the new look !
any word on new games for us ps+ members? for the vita ? let us knows thanks!

  • The search function is pretty much broken, but everything else seems to work

  • Hi everyone, i kinda agree with ossiecastro5, it got a little mixed up, the access became simpler but i think it crossed some borders that it shouldn’t have… Another issue that i’m experiencing is that the download speed has severely decreased and it’s not my connection…

  • Not bad but make it a bit more faster when it first loads the store. Personally I prefer the old store. Another thing, please sort my downloads into categories. It’s very annoying going throung my long list of downloads.

  • The new store is horrible. Slow, disorganized, ugly etc etc.

How do you recommend games now? And why is the download list just like it was before? You guys said you were going to fix that! Another thing is the mediocre search system, why in the world you change the keyboard for that lame abc search? And why is the movies and gaming store together now?

    Lame.
