As you may have noticed, the new PlayStation Store for PlayStation 3 is now available in the United States, Canada, Brazil and Mexico. Great new features like streaming trailers, improved search, new filter and sort options, as well as improved graphics, more game and video information, and easier access to add-ons are just some of the highlights.
With so much content available, it’s a great time to jump in and check it out. We value your feedback and will continue to make enhancements, so please let us know what you think in the comment section below.
The download list is still pain in the ass to browse. Why don’t we have filters there? and why doesn’t it have it’s own search so you can easily find what you are looking for instead of going through each item one-by-one?
I know you can download some items by searching on the store but there are still content on the store that you can’t download such as Lemmings.
Very displeased with this supposed “upgrade”. Definetly not user-friendly for those of us interested in using the store for more than PS+ browsing. Fix the add-on search……by game would help!!
Put back all missing content…..(yes there is alot missing), specifically DLC (Red Faction: Guerrilla and WWE 12 Add-Ons, come to mind…Spent about 45min looking for both to no avail).
If you can’t release an update without releasing all content/features then wtf is the point?? Some (not all) purchased conent is not shown as purchased. Some purchased content can’t be downloaded??
* For a quick fix try releasing the option to use the old Store format with all content, not missing features or navigation/purchase/download problems.
And for a real upgrade try enhancing the downloads menu by adding categories and alphabetical search/options.
Didn’t even comment on the useless big blocky and weird sounds aesthetics. Or absurd load times…

The new store quiet frankly sucks. In fact for someone who spends $50.00 – $100.00 USD every week I spent this entire week paying other companies to rent movies or got games another way. I have no interest in using this store since its hard to figure out. You know your marketing team who you pay to give you props (IGN) just released a review saying how amazing the store is but also posted a walkthrough because people couldn’t figure the store out.
A Walk through for a store? Are you serious? You have made a store so complicated the mass majority of people cannot figure out. Buying a game or movie should not be complicated, getting DLC should not be complicated. What were you thinking? Did some jerk marketing guy push this through and threatened or use jerk phrases like “Going forward” to push new store?
Some advice K.I.S.S (Keep it simple stupid) with your customers. You guys were on the right track new digital content an amazing PS Plus program. For the past three years I have been completely loyal. I have watched the PS3 go from a marketing fail that told us to get two jobs to afford a playstation and ridge racer, riiiiidge racer!
Then you dropped the price, got Kevin Butler made some amazing programs…. now your suing Kevin Butler for a seperate commerical he did on his own your trying to lock down content by device and your creating a store.
I am all over this place right now but know I am a customer who most likely will not renew unless you change back to the old PS Store. I rather go somewhere else at this point.
i can not add money via cc or nothing…keep getting error everytime i try to buy the new sleeping dogs dlc and one pirate game. use to work fine before this update…please help!

The new store is incomplete. Take this scenario. I buy a game that is a few months old (ex: Atelier Meruru). I want to find the DLC that is available for this game:
Problems: 1: You can’t search DLC by GAME! This should be the DEFAULT method.
2: I try to search. I have to scroll through a wierd letter wheel to add letters to search by.
3: Even after getting the search typed in, the game is not found.
The store needs to be reverted until major corrections are made. How are you going to sell DLC for games if people can’t FIND it?
Please fix this. I had DLC I was going to buy after another paycheck or so, now it’s not able to be found at all.
I cant even find the add on for need for speed most wanted 2012 i like the old store better though but is there option if we can change from old store to new store because its really confusing
Which genius thought it would be a great idea to remove the alphabet sub-menus and make us scroll through hundreds, or thousands depending on the category, of items?

How do I let find an add-on that when I go to the game page is no longer listed but is still listed on the games official website? is there a way to contact Sony to see if there is a fix for this?
I like the new store and all, but dude…that avatar section…are you kidding!? Is this some kind of sick joke!? Seriously!? Its like you just said “Well here’s all the avatars (seriously all of them) spend 3 hours finding the one you’re looking for, have fun ;)” To which I would reply “-_-“
I cannot start the store ever, I have tried reinstalling it many times so I would say this new store sucks real bad because I can’t even start it
When you sort by GENRE / 3D it only shows 6 demos when there are at least 20??
It’s clear the store needs a LOT of work, but I think you guys can fix it.
I do like the new look, but it’s extremely slow to start.
Please consider adding a Wishlist or way to store items you are interested in, but just don’t want to buy at be moment. Trust me, I use my iPod for this and it will generate more sales.
It would also be nice if you could fix the Keyboard support for searching. It doesn’t work right and deleting characters with the Bluetooth keyboard doesn’t work AT ALL.
I hate to say it guys, but I fear the old store will never be seen from again. This *new* (traffic jam on the 405) is what we have to deal with from here on out. I bet they spent the last 2 years + at least $20 or so designing this mess. After spending almost an hour trying to find something, anything to buy I left with little to no intent on coming back to it anytime soon. It’s a sad, sad day to be a PSN Gamer :(

1) Add a scrolling feature to the right stick. This way we can go through a list without having to move past each box on the way up or down. I know we can move between screens by using L1 and R1, but it would be more intuitive to use the right stick.
2) More than one filter at a time. I wanted to search for a PS3 game from a certain genre and price range, but I could only have one filter active at a time; which left me with 400 games.
That’s all I can think of for now; I think it’s a great update, but I feel like it can be improved.
You generally don’t hear from me sony but there is some issues and positive feedback that I would love to discuss. Your new PSN store looks pleasing, there is alot of confusion at first but to search for new games it organizes into a A-Z thing. That makes it easier but here comes the complaints of efficiency which generally will kill sales on add-on DLC, You don’t got the same format as you do for the games themselves. Looking for a certain DLC leads to a few problems. One it seems like programming and development rushed the add-on area. Insteadd of a “By game” catergory you find what’s “popular”. I for one am not looking for that or a specific catergory I’m just looking for my game title in there. Now comes a complaint from two experiences that relate to this search feature you use here. The youtube app has the same issues but the letter system is very annoying you should really stick with the keyboard program the PS3 comes with instead of wasting your resources on a new set of coding. It would speed up efficiency and fix the search feature issues. Which in turn bring more money for DLC into your company. Whoever created the idea of that new search function should really think of a better way.
@ 324, Yes, I’m pretty sure this is the final package, maybe a few teaks here and there, but you can’t kid yourself, they obviously put a lot of time/money into this, there is no way they are going to give you the option to use the old store and have it compete with their “new, improved” layout, especially with the amount of people that would flock to the old layout. There must have been a ton of groupthink going on when they were making this to not see how flawed the new store would be.
Sad as it is, short of an admission that they made a mistake, this is likely the store we are going to be stuck with.
From this point on, the ball is in Sony’s court to decide whether to actually take a proactive measure or act like they know what’s best for the consumer and do nothing.
There is some missing games, movies and other items that you should take into consideration as well. Think of the holidays ahead the sales of PSN cards will drop slightly due to the DLC area issues and missing contents. Along with data being corrupt during the move on some games on PSN as well. Yiu talk to your development team to find a quick solution to these issues. Thank you for the new store and your time.
As for the people here, I have to say the rage we feel is understandable as a customer. We are here to give them money but the development team did not take the time to test small details from the looks of things. It’s like they thought it looked good on paper, in words or as ideas but it turned into crap literally. Some ideas are like that, I just hope they listen to the complaints. I for one don’t want to stop buying PSN cards as a result from this new store. I hope they hear our complaints and deal with it swiftly or as soon as possible.
Listen to post 323 sony that post is very true!! It would be efficient and effective I for one try to save money for a game that’s Downloadable. You want a store that’s quick and efficient at giving your products. This would make me buy more cards and get my saved games on my wishlist. You may want to consider this along with what needs improvements. I hope your swiftly thinking you can make or break sales. It’s nice sony but consider some of the tweaks I discussed earlier. It would clean up more nicely.
I think there’s a natural learning curve, but I’m finding that there is so much more info, which I really appreciate. It seems to be better organized.
I love the fact that I can scroll through EVERYTHING that’s been added in one place. Info on trophy support is awesome-very much appreciated!
I think I’m going to like it a lot more-I just have to get used to it!

Not a fan of this new store at all so far. Went to do my usual boredom browsing earlier and holy add ons and avatars! I dont care for the way I have to scroll through 1000’s of SF knick knacks at all. I know I can filter things but then I have to continue to refilter to make sure i havent missed anything.
There is no need for whats new, whats hot, hot new, new new, newer new, etc. I preferred one NEW section with the icons within that section for add ons, themes, avatars, etc but have the actual new game icons visible there. Last I checked Games were the main focus here. Unless Im missing some way to have multiple parameters included or excluded for a search, it really sucks.
Not gonna throw out the rediculous ” Im mad so im boycotting PSN threat.” but it’s a fact that the new design will definately cut down on my random browsing and impulse buys because of the aggrevation of browsing it. I know the idea of having the “old” store returned as an option is rediculous but i’d sure cast my vote that way. :(
To all haters:
1- If you have been eager to see the new store and have downloaded the EU version first, DELETE it then redownload from US server, EU version was jerky, i know, but they’ve fixed it in the US version. (I had the same problem)
2- When you try to open the store for the FIRST time, yeah it takes bout a minute to show up but afterwards it’s WAY faster.
3- For any ADD-ON you’re looking for, you must go the game’s own page, this is leaps and bond better! have you forgot that in order to see a specific game’s theme or DLC we had to quit the game page, then browse in a slow store to find that content, even though I agree that they must add the by game filter to ADD-ONs section BUT it’s your fault that you haven’t find it out after 3 days how to find a DLC by going to the game’s own page, things have changed and it takes time to get used to the new store.
4- They WILL NEVER bring back the old store, because people don’t want it back, just look at this post’s score, It’s 3.02 as of now which is over 2.5 (i.e half of users) so stop asking for this.
5- Just use it for a week and when you got used to it you’ll feel how better it is.

I agree that there are some problems with it, download list have been a problem since day one so stop relating it to the new store, But they have to fix it asap, I haven’t seen any missing content as of now but if you say so, then I agree and they should fix it, search ALGORITHM is better than before, way better BUT limiting the entries is a problem.
Something else that I would like to see is that upon initial download, the latest patch should be included. I shouldn’t have to wait 2 hours for a game and then another 1 hour for the patches.
Frozen screen! Once I get to the store welcome screen I have no arrow and no response from my controller. It’s safe to say that I liked the old store much better. And I have a playstation plus membership that’s going to waste.
Not liking the new store. I really dislike icon view. I prefer list view for everything. The store is slower, and harder to find things now as well. If things are not changed, my purchases will become very limited as browsing old items to buy is now very annoying.
We got a new PS3 — Assassin’s Creed III bundle (3rd PS3, all still working.) It was different. But in the end, I like it. It functions great for me. So my first store experience on it was Friday morning. I got my credentials into the system and whooaa! Is this … YES! It took time to install, but not much really.
When it started up I was doing summersaults inside! The old store had problems, was hard to see from most distances (astigmatism) and all in all, this new store is so much more.
I love it, it feels responsive. I love the grouping of everything directly related. It’s gorgeous and functional. Thank you Playstation!
Please fix the Remote Play capability for Vita for accessing the store. The old store had it and I used it often to buy games from the store. Haven’t seen the actual store yet, other than trying to access it remotely.
i hate this new store it has to many problems and its missing alot of stuff, for instance 5 days ago i bought 3 $20 playstation cards to buy the extended playstation protection plan for my new playstation 3, this is my 4th one since they tend to break down like in 2 years & what do i get when i try to buy the protection plan, first i get a horrible slow as new store, 2nd i cant find the playstation protection plan i literally spent 2 hours or more going throuh that endless dizzy maze you now call playstation store and cant find what im looking for, & 3rd now im stuck with 3 cards that i cant get my money back on, you guys are messing it up and are gonna lose alot of customers because sreching throuh this new store kind of gives me a head ache please fix it and return whatever you took out & give us options like the old store had the only thing this new store has going for it is that it prettier & more graphics but thats something i kind of dont care for if its gonna be super slow and giving me head aches because it a maze to find things and now its even slower to search for things with that new serch option, please please & please fix it thank you..??
I just finished using the new psn store and wow it defiantly feels like a downgrade more than anything. Going through the add on menu felt like i was wading through a flooded basement add ons floating everywhere without organization. I eventually just gave up trying to find what i was looking for. then This whole thing just feels very unnecessary sure it looks pretty but i don’t care I’d rather have a store that works correctly so I can buy,download,install,use asap I would defiantly love to have the old store back least then I could find everything quickly
I’m relatively new to PSN. I purchased a used PS3 several months ago, created a PSN account and immediately signed up for PSN Plus. I really must say that I haven’t been very impressed with the quality of service. The PS Plus deals for the American side, when compared to the European offerings, are sorely lacking in terms of both value and pedigree. And this new store, while having an improved search function, is pretty much a downgrade in almost every other regard. And the one big issue I always had with the store (the lack of an ability to sort through the “View Downloads” tab by anything other than date of download) wasn’t even addressed! Needless to say, I will likely be letting my PS Plus subside after my year and selling my PS3 either shortly before or after. I really expected better.
OMG so many years it took to change the PS store and what do we get? A slower, more slower and slow store. It takes so many steps to buy things or download things now. Yeah it looks a bit better but we were expecting something useful not good looking! I simply hate the new PS store, I will use it because I have no other options.
It’s hard to express just how much I hate the new store. It’s slow, both in that it’s extremely sluggish (there’s a noticeable delay just moving from item to item), and that it’s slower to browse, because so much more is thrown at you at once. The filtering options are either too fine, or not fine enough. Because items aren’t grouped, you either have to scroll through every item, or keep adjusting the filters.
When I want to see what’s new, I want to be able to easily skip over things I don’t care about. Items relating to a game should all be grouped together. If I don’t have a particular game, I’m not going to be interested in any additional content for it, so I want to just skip past it.
You removed so much of the drilldown in content browsing, where it was useful, and added a ton of dialog boxes to the purchasing process, where it’s annoying. This doesn’t make for a good user experience.

I find it to be less organized than the previous store. I also don’t like how I cannot use the keyboard to search, as well as how when I browse all options in a certain section, it does not default to A-Z, but rather it has to be sorted first unlike the last store. It just seems overly flashy and less user-friendly now. An option to switch back to the previous experience would be nice.

Way to completely ignore every other issue that was brought up, like: funds vanishing, error messages when purchasing something or adding funds, being asked to repurchase content we already own, the sheer uselessness of the add-on section, miscategorization of numerous games, games that are outright missing from the store entirely, etc.
No, go on ahead and fix that speed issue, surely that’s more important than anything else we have to say.
LOL at the only reply they have given so far (at the time of this post, in post #4). As expected, it’s directed to one of the “positive” comments. I guess they are just going to ignore all the posts that talk about the more serious issues, like they always do when they don’t like what they read. At least the generic “we are looking into this” response would be better than nothing.
The loading time is the least of the problems, I couldn’t care less about loading time right now. Where are the missing games? The games that don’t even come up when using the search tool. What happened to our purchased games? I have more than 20 games (in different formats: Full PS3, PSN, Minis and PS1) that are asking me to pay again. Not happening. And I’m not the only one with this issue. The problem of not being able to add funds to the wallet is not isolated either. People want what they have already paid for, and you want people spending more money in your Store, so maybe these are the issues that you should be looking at first.
Just saying…
The shopping cart won’t let you delete items. It also doesn’t reset when you log out, or delete the store and reinstall. Why not? The way this is I may not buy anything PSN any more.
