As you may have noticed, the new PlayStation Store for PlayStation 3 is now available in the United States, Canada, Brazil and Mexico. Great new features like streaming trailers, improved search, new filter and sort options, as well as improved graphics, more game and video information, and easier access to add-ons are just some of the highlights.
With so much content available, it’s a great time to jump in and check it out. We value your feedback and will continue to make enhancements, so please let us know what you think in the comment section below.
FYI, Some of the Sleeping Dogs add on content is missing (it was there before the switch to the new store) and Sleeping Dogs in the search comes up with zero results. Also, the categories for the add-ons are obtuse. If you are looking for any add-on content that you haven’t seen before, how would you know whether it was in levels, characters, other, vehicles,combo, or any of the other arbitrary sub sets??? If you happen to stumble upon one in one category, it doesn’t direct you to others. This layout is such a a waste of time, and almost impossible to use if you are looking for first time purchases. The alphabetical categories were way more intuitive, and expedient. I can not emphasize just how bad it is when a 2 minute search for content easily turns into a 30 minute ordeal that makes customers not want to bother again.
It’s like the store is actively trying to prevent me from giving it my money…. even when I find what I want, it adds redundant screens to test my resolve to purchase. I design UI for a living, and this “design” has me cursing and shaking my head at the incompetence.

I feel that the old layout was much easier to navigate. I searched for Sleeping Dogs add-ons for about 10 minutes before giving up. The search kept bringing up tracks for Rock Band and random movies. One disappointed Sony fan.
As of this morning, I and many other people are still having trouble funding our wallets with either a CC or PSN card, both in the store and through account management… Please fix so I can continue to support Sony and their poor decisions… Thank you.
Ok, what happened to the Add-ons section? I feel it’s completely clustered, I can’t navigate by game anymore.
I’m forced to choose a category (levels, characters, etc) and then I have to navigate through ALL the add-ons for the category I selected, this isn’t intuitive at all. Making matters worse, the add-ons aren’t listed alphabetically by default so I have to click thah option. And when I select one of the add-ons to see it’s detail, when I return to the list, the cursos gets back to the first add-on, I have to go down manually to get to the last selected add-on…
I think this is a downgrade, the old store didn’t have the categories, but you could navigate by game. It’s much more intuitive, you have a game and you want to buy add-ons for it, so you first search for the game to see which add-ons are available for it.
I hope you can bring back the old section of PS3 add-ons or at least it’s functionality (add “all add-ons by game” below or above the categories)… Thanks.

The new store does look better, but seriously it’s slow as hell, and I thought the old store was way too slow, and hoped the new store would be a lot faster :(
A few things…Bare in mind that I just had to reformat my HDD (too many fragmented files) and I’m rebuilding the system from scratch and whatever non-DRM backups I had.
Not so slow as some are finding and I rather like the not having to go all the way back to the download screen when adding items to the que. That said, the bloody store is being swamped right now so all I get is 80710005 and cant do anything else right now.
If nobody else has noticed, while the trophies do show up properly, the stars are all reset to 1. I haven’t looked further as I’m locked out of so much due to the above error.
Having seen the AU preview of this before hand, I do agree with how combersome the store has become in terms of the downloading new content.
Im glad the layout finally got changed actually looks alright, but its definately slower! Now today mine is frozen on the main screen, it opens just fine, but just stuck on main screen, cant move or select anything. pretty awesome! restart, re-set, try, try again nope everything works except the store. The old one never did that, just gonna have to dust off the Xbox. Pretty mad actually
Still not working… Angry… Guess ill give microsoft my money for a week or two maybe you can figure out your NEW store by then. next time can we just get a choice to keep the working store instead of getting angry and dissapointed???
The only problem I (and seemingly many others) have is the add-ons. I mean really, why make it so hard to navigate through the add-ons? You should put it back to where it’s by game, because this new way to do the add-ons is bad.
Other than that, I like the new store. It just needs that add-on section revamped and enough time to get used to. Good job, Sony.
EDIT: the code is 80710003 and the browser cache/auth clearing didn’t help. I can still download what I managed to get in the que, but nothing else. Not even accessing the Account info client side.
new store sucks, harder to navigate, slower loading (i remember when i could just look up the game and see all add ons, no longer eh?) can i have the old store back?
Tried to open the new store and after 5mins or so it never appeared. Just sat looking at the stupid bag with the button symbols on it. Am I just not giving it enough time to load or has anyone else had this experience? Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks
I have enjoyed so much the old blue layout. But now the new store is awful. Everything got complicated.

new store looks cool but it sucks to navigate. (and i’m not talking about lag) Navigation of the store is a pain. I can’t find anything. Also Mythbuster’s current season (13) is missing from the ps3 store.
also hate that I can no longer access the store in remote play. (used to start downloads when not home)
seems like this is another Work in Progress. The old store became convoluted & just a cluster of crap. Hopefully the ironing board is still out.
Some games do not pop up when searching. I was searching for NIER and it just wouldn’t show up when i searched at all, i had to go through my downloads list just to redownload it. if i wanted to buy it new there would be no way of getting to it. This store desperately needs an A-Z organization of all the games(and dlc) back like it was in the old store.
I can understand, if it is going to improve the suck store and got still worse from before.
However, Sony tried to worsen the convenient blue layout WHY?
While i like the new store my biggest problem is now i cant access this via remote play on my vita like i use to with the old store. I hope this can be addressed and fixed because im not always Near (pun) my ps3 when i want to purchase a ps3 game or even download a new demo for the ps3
Just thought of this, but it would be great if the Sort and Filter options could be brought up by using L2 and R2 instead of forcing us to scroll to the very top.

it’s cumbersome, slow and unclear, -whilst the old store was easy to use, the new one is a major letdown and comletely useless for a quick and easy shopping experience.
I would definitely prefer the old one and it would be just fine and fair if everyone would be given the choice either to use the new shop or the old shop…
This new store in F****** horrible. Sony you have really been letting me down lately. Crappy Updates. Stupid Store make over. Horrible Store Updates “once every few months you add some thing good” I am really thing of selling all 5 of my ps3’s and getting my family so me xbox’s You Keep taking away things that made me want to buy the ps3 in the first place. Bring back the old and stop killing your company and system.

I’m late to the party of immediate feedback, but it’s given me time to digest the new design and get familiar with it.
I will attempt to be to the point.
I can understand the reasons and the logistics for it. But ultimately I feel it’s a mistake.
The loss of the predominant blue, the shift in sound, loss in the presentation, gaudy background, technical troubles caused to quite a few people and the rather unwelcoming design seems ill fitting. It will draw a lot of comparison to the XBLA market negatively. Interesting attempt to push the Hot Content and other such sections but this could be done with the older shop.
A change if not a complete loss of identity alienates your user base and though you might aim for the long term, the design just doesn’t strike or remains memorable. In terms of use, it seriously isn’t any different from the previous shop, but comes at the cost of it’s uniqueness, it’s more approachable presentation and some more straightforward uses. It feels tacky, minimalistic in the worst sense. The additional advertisement space is nice but hampers a bit too. It feels like XBLA or the mediocre Youtube App, it doesn’t feel like PSN. And that ultimately might cause you some harm down the line…
I would imagine though, this isn’t something lightly made and something that won’t be so easily reversed, or that even the thought of reversing this update is on the table.
As such, I’ll only touch on the easiest editing you could do to fix certain issues.
Feel. Making something FEEL like it belongs, like it is proper.
This can easily be done for the most part. Two details:
The color Blue
The sound
The little chimes for PSN store was similar to entering an actual store and puts you to a certain mindset. The lack of it felt… very barren. Putting customers into a mindset focusing on shopping is certainly necessary to apply in any and all manner possible.
The color Blue is also identifiable to the Playstation brand. With the new Vita boxes branded in blue and the large splashes of blue on a variety of your designs, the removal of the color blue seems ill advised if not showing a slip-up in term of consistency in design.

I can deal with the sluggishness, but I just found that I could not add funds to my wallet. I’ll be missing a sale that ends today. I won’t be buying this game full price (Closure). I wonder if Sony is tracking all the lost sales?
Well, looks like all “feedback” is useless now, considering this post has already gone into oblivion (a.k.a. the second page). It doesn’t seem like Sony cares much about us gamers lately, guess they don’t want our business anymore, at least not for those of us having important issues.
I have searched several posts in the support forums, as well as other websites, and the only reply I could find was the one Grace gave here. Too bad they couldn’t even acknowledge the more serious problems and at least tell us they were looking into them. And with new stuff coming to the store today, it just makes less sense.
What’s more, all this issues were there when they launched the store in EU. They took it down and postpone its release in NA to fix them (or so they said), and yet we still have them.
Go on, fix the speed for those just looking and playing with the store. Those “few” hoping to get there games back or wanting to add funds, so they can give you more money, are not important.
I’m one of those people who actually use Remote play on a constant basis. As a Playstation Plus member and someone who buys a lot of PSN games I often use Remote play to turn on my PS3 from at work, or if I’m out with friends after (at the bar for instance) to begin downloads so they are ready for me to play and enjoy when I get home. Now with this new update I CAN NOT use Remote play with the PS3 store because I get the THIS CONTENT DOES NOT WORK WITH REMOTE PLAY.
Funny how Playstation promoted Remote Play and “Do anything on the go” with Vita and now that the device is actually in the hands of customers your promises either turn out to be a sham or you take them away without warning or consideration.
I remember seeing remote play videos of Killzone 3 and other games being demonstrated on the Vita, none of that has come to light. Now the one thing I actually used Remote play for has been taken away. Also with the recent lack luster content for Playstation Plus I beginning to feel like I’m supporting the wrong game company.
These issues and more are beginning to push me away from Playstation.
I don’t have much problems with the store except for three things. The checkout only function, loadtimes, and it crashing (just two times for me). But overall its amazing! I Just hope you can fix the bugs, which you will. Good luck!!! :)
Also this is new tech. So its gonna have problems the first time it comes out. Cut Sony some slack and let them patch it up.
Could someone please confirm if the “Show your purchase/downloads on Facebook” option is fixed or available?

I was really impressed with the new store great job!!!
I really don’t like this new PSN, the menu is confusing, when you click on categories it is difficult to see everything in the category, and the beginning it gives you top suggestions, but i have to click another part to see it all. The search section is horribly difficult to type something, i prefer a QWERTY keyboard then having to scroll down a list just to type one letter. Bring back the old page, it was simpler and easier to use.
The video trailers on game pages are not working and they’re hard freezing my PS3. WTF Sony

@383 You seem to be describing bugs with new software. Sure there are some issues that fall under this category that people are having such as loading times and problems downloading items, however not all these problems are “new tech” bugs/glitches/whatever. Some of them are “not thinking about how a customer shops problems.” I’d be willing to bet the issues you seem to be referring to will be fixed, however the concern amongst a lot of us is the issues that aren’t bugs, but stupid development decisions.
There’s a lot more issue here than just loading times.
1. The fact that add-ons can’t be sorted by game title is awful. I’m not going to sift through categories like “costumes” and “weapons” if I can’t sort by game title first.
2. I find myself not wanting to use the new search simply because I can’t use my keypad to type.
3. Sound effects are downright irritating.
4. STILL no sorting options for downloads. Considering how long people have been asking for this, and rolling out this new version of the store without including this option, you guys don’t really take customer feedback into consideration.
5. Sure, it’s pretty, but it seems to me all it really boils down to is a shameless attempt to get impulse buys.
I understand that making money is a priority in any business. But, positive customer experience is what keeps that money coming and gets people talking to convince others to spend their money as well.
Pro tip. If you care about the lack of sorting in your download list, DO NOT let your PS+ lapse. The moment that you re-up your account, every single item that you have ever downloaded via + will be added to the top of your list again as a new download.
Can we get a nice sleek designed store that isn’t so confusing and convoluted !

Problem 2 I can’t find the add on section.
Problem 3 It takes forever to load
Problem 4 As of today it won’t let me add funds to my wallet so I can make purchases from YOUR store. For god sake I’m trying to give you money.
Problem 5 Why is it easier to vote then find anything on the store.
Problem 6 Were did all the mini games go?
Problem 7 It takes a crazy long time to download movies.
Please bring back the old store I spend hundreds a month on the store. If this is not fixed by the end of the month I will trade this POS for an XBOX 360 they seem to have a clue.
you need to fix the search option it doesn’t let me to search what i want it just make select a letter but when i select that letter none of what it show me was what i was looking for .
it’s almost the same search option that youtube app have i hate that i can not write my own search.
It doesn’t make any sense that they scrapped the capability to change the views of content by pressing square. There’s never a good reason to sacrifice customization options.
Also, I’m not looking to ogle pretty pictures of content in the Playstation Store. My goal has always been, and always will be, to get in, get what I want, and get out. The design should never favor form over function.
While it looks sleeker, the organization of it all is terrible.
Before, being able to see all the latest releases from add-ons, demos, full games, downloadable games, and so on was so simple and straight-forward. Now it’s all just one giant, cluttered mess.
You definitely need an all-encompassing “New Arrivals” section that is organized by “Full Games,” “Demos,” “Add-Ons,” and to which those are split into their respective individual game sections. You know, like how it was so conveniently before the update.
jesus this new store sucks im sry sony but we should be able to go back to the original cause this new store is annoying and pointless never actually had a problem with the old one…you should have a voting poll with the fans so that you can see how many ppl want the old look back sry im just giving my opinion
Hate to join into the hate fest here, but this store is a big mistake!
Everything that was wrong with the old store has been carried over and you killed off the good features (recommending games to our friends).
And didn’t add what gamers actually care about (easy navigation, what’s new screen showing everything the blog shows, Wish List, sorting of Download List).
On top of this you managed to make it slower, made it so the keyboard doesn’t work properly for searching (uhh.. Someone forgot to map the DELETE key?!) and it’s an overall mess that I don’t think can be rectified.
So sad to see this backwards thinking actually make it to fruition.
