Oh hey, November. Almost didn’t see you there with all of your fall colors, national holidays, and general autumn revelry. PlayStation Plus Update 11-5-2012
The wording makes me think that vita plus comes out next week and that either lumines or escape plan will be the first igc game for vita. I just am guessing because of the wording of “addition to the plus FAMILY” instead of IGC. and the game being puzzling ie lumines or escape plan.
So it finally happened…I’m now one of the guys to say I already bought the game (RE5Gold) that Ps+ is giving for free :( .
Anyway, enjoy the game, it’s pretty good.
One question, If you buy Portal 2 in PSN you still get the code for Steam or something?
You know, most of us already own RE5. Actually I own every single RE game released on PSN.
I know you don’t have to, but it would be nice if somehow you return part of the price ($5 or so) for those who already own the game, so we can buy another game/dlc. That way people who already own the game don’t feel left out, and they can keep buying from day one with no regrets :)
@259: Escape Plan would be a horrible start to Plus on Vita. I don’t say that because it’s a bad game (it’s an excellent game), but it was the digital top seller for almost the entire life of Vita so far and it still remains a big seller. Almost everyone with a Vita probably own it. That and that game’s file is HUUUUUUGE once you start getting the add-ons and you get the game up to date. A great game that they did a really poor job with patching. Their is no reason a game like that should take up as much space on a memory card as it does.

I enjoy my PS+ and usually there is at least one thing each month that I get really excited, but October was a pretty dull month in my opinion. I’m looking forward to getting to play RE5 though! Thanks!
What is going on with this sudden US bias? First Dokuro (Coming this week at least) and now Absolute Supercars? One of the reasons I grew to like the PS3 over the 360 was that Sony treated it as North America instead of just the US and some afterthought markets sharing the border. So hoping this isn’t going to be a bad trend.
Take it no $1 Super Hang On is coming? Was the SEGA classic I was most looking forward to spending a whole $1 on =P

Noice, looking forward to picking up Portal 2 and RE5 Gold Edition. The Bluray drive on my ps3 broke, my warranty ran out, and i lack the $200 to send it in and get it fixed so I haven’t been able to play any disc based games. Lucky enough for me that I can still play the games I’ve purchased via PSN Store.
WTG, a month late? lol This game would have been great to get during October.
Anyway, small potatoes! This is one of the best weekly updates so far. This already puts this month in the lead as the best so far since the switch to the “IGC!”

Again, I just ask you to be honest with us. A couple of weeks ago you made it quite well known that the new ps store was a mockup and DID NOT contain Resident Evil 5 Gold. Me, taking you at your word, decided to go out and buy the game for the Halloween time period since it was on sale at Newegg for $15.89. I feel very misled by you and am actually pretty upset. Correct me if I am wrong, but I do assume that your higher ups inform you on things to come. You were not at all vague with your words. You straight up claimed that it was not part of and there were no plans to bring it to plus (based on your replies to people). Please strongly consider how you phrase things since I am sure that other people actually base purchases on what you say.

Yeah I mentioned in an earlier response that this one took us by surprise as well in terms of how quickly it came together. (I was annoyed too). It was certainly not my intention to mislead you, so I do apologize and will work to make sure that we have as much insight into these things as possible. At the time, it was a unique case where I had to clear the air on the images for the new PlayStation Store but little did I know that there were gears in motion that were actually moving towards that end (free RE5).
I’m excited for all those players who will for the very first time will play RE5, GOLD!!!! Very excite for those who already enjoyed it and are ready to experience it once again as well!!! (That’s me! Woot!) I must say I can’t wait for PS+ on the PSVita!!!!! Oh! Quick question… I had already played RE5 before and bought all the DLCs that actually make RE5 Gold… Will this new Digital version count as a new game(Trophies and Already Cleared Stages, etc) or will it join my previous saved game data from my original RE5 gameplay???
PS: Portal 2 at a discount? Hmmm… I think you guys got me there! I’m buying! :D

I remember seeing RE5 for free in a pic you guys had a while back about the new PlayStation Store redesign. I thought it was fake. You pulled a good one on me there, lol. Glad to have yet another free game in my arsenal. Plus, I am very happy with the PlayStation Store’s new look. Being a graphic designer myself, I can really appreciate all the effort you put into the redesign. Nice work.

Is there any chance of seeing one of the Assassin’s Creed games on the Instant Game Collection any time soon? I have heard about how good these games are. But unfortunately, I have yet to play any of them.

I knew the big Free game offering in June was going to be a fluke.
Is it me or does it just seem now that we are getting very little in the way of “free” games
since then? RE5 is old and I bought it for $5 on disc.
This also would have made a lot more sense BEFORE Halloween.
Is Qore or Pulse ever coming back?
I hate to say it, but the whole PSN experience from the killing of those shows
to the slow and buggy PSN Store “upgrade” to the Firmware update with Trophies slower to load and not keeping
track of the sorting order.
I would be happy if they would just add two very simple things to the PS3..
ALPHABETIZE GAME LISTING and SORTED DOWNLOAD LIST. Very simple and a lot of people are also asking for these, but we are ignored.
STOP MAKING SUCH GREAT DEALS!! Seriously my wallet is hurting… Looks like I’ll finally buy Portal 2 with that fantastic price and I’ll also buy When Vikings Attack.
Aw, no Super Hang-On to round out the SEGA Vintage Collection? Still, that a buck each for five titles, I’ve at least hit a wash with Monster World IV. Definitely better than Wonder Boy in Monster Land and its weird hourglass mess.
Good to see you guys pulled through on Resident Evil 5 or the US, after those new Store previews. Glad I already booted up the Full-Game Trial back when PS Home was clearing out its older spaces (had to grab those Wesker shades), so no massive download to nab it for my “Collection”.
PORT-HOLE DEUX!! Glad as I am to see price parity with its PC release (despite the latter having more content), I grabbed this at launch and have already platinum’d it. My own PS3 got bad textures on the disc some months ago, but I guess something got dusted off or fell into place since, ’cause it worked well enough today. Still, if there’re better loading times, I just might go for it, now or later.
That “In Motion” DLC is tempting me to look into a Move controller, though.
Otherwise, I’ll hold off on the other two. Still have to come to terms with how Derrick the Deathfin handles.
As for the poll, I chose the “$1 SEGA Games”, with the Halloween Sale coming in behind. Already had KOFXIII from retail and Payday from its PLAY promo, and haven’t gotten into Blitz yet (though, as averse as I am to sports games, I’m willing to give Blitz a try). Day 1 Discounts are good (though I prefer them for PSN-based titles), and The Unfinished Swan’s early access was nice (though I wasn’t as blown away as I got by Journey; then again, hard bar to hit). The PSASBR beta? Good inclusion, but I’m more for finished products.
Great RE5! I have evaded this game since its release day because it’s not the RE how it used to be, I played the demo and don’t like it so now I have to play it again, the full version, thanks to sony! :) so…I’ll see how much I’ll be playing before I give up and by the way…Morgan not information about PSN+ for VITA yet I know you wrote “more news to share about it very soon” but is soon today or soon this week, thanks!
Hi, i enjoy reading your blog every monday to see what’s coming out on ps+. Im going to get RE5 for sure first thing and start playing it! I think PS+ is so worth it, but tbh, it makes me scared to buy games unless it’s on sale in psn (figured that out after buying TWD)! Even though i haven’t beat a single level yet, i voted for Payday the heist because it’s a pretty cool game.. i just need to figure out how to not die.. seriously it’s like they send the entire army in to get you.
It’s cool you guys have a deal on portal 2.. maybe some folks want to play the co-op with me (i have no co-op tropies yet), so if anyone wants a co-op player add me to your friends list we’ll play some time. Just tell me why you’re adding me and we can get some trophies!
The portal 2 DLC looks pretty good but i don’t have a navigation controller, and holding 1/2 the ps3 controller is kind of awkward… must look this week to see if i can find one used and cheap
I think I might let my subscription expire. Most of the free games and games on sale are older titles. System updates can’t even be installed automatically either. I also used to have Netflix thinking it was a great bargain until you look at the selection and how old the actual movies are. The magic of the service is you think you’re getting a great bargain when in reality those games have long since expired and are no longer on peoples wanted lists. Now we get a new store interface and it’s slow and even more cumbersome than before.
Sony makes great hardware and they have even better games, however it’s the application end of it and the OS that severely lacks. I’ve even downloaded new demos that require an update and an install. Why? Why would they offer a demo only to have you go through hoops just to play the game? There’s just too many steps to do anything within the store.
Well like many others I also will not participate in this poll. You have to add a didn’t like any option considering not everybody liked last months Plus. With you not doing that it makes it seem like everything was great when it wasn’t. This month has also started out with a dud.
I’m also wondering why Sony can’t compete with the killer deals Steam can get. I don’t even have to pay for a membership to get 75% off a game. What are they doing that you guys can’t seem to do? I I love my PS3 and Vita and use to really love Plus but that has been going downhill. Why don’t you work on getting games that many people may not have instead of the old huge games that millions of people have already bought.
Also instead of updating the store, which was fine before, why don’t you put resources into giving us better options with our download list like many people have asked, an option to alphabetize our games we have installed instead of having to make folders to organize, or even an option to change the font color so you can see it with some of the themes that clash with the white.
I’ve made folders that are each letter of the alphabet but I’d love to be able to go into the folder and alphabetize the games in each folder.
Only one game for free? in the european store will give two games tomorrow Crysis 2 and Ratchet and Clank: All for One, i know that the last game we have it, but come! there are to many games in european store that we dont have it and will be so glad to have it, like darksiders, motors storm apocalipsys, dead space, deux human revolution, etc. and now whit this uptdate only have one single free game, so sad!

And now I have stumbled upon a dilemma:
I hate DLC with all my heart, I think it has detrimented gaming industry because of its focus on nickel and diming us gamers, but man Portal 2, is too good of a game and their developers are top notch with the community, oh, and that discount makes it even more tempting, might make an exception here but only because this may have the quality I deem valuable enough to pay more than full retail price on a game…
