Oh hey, November. Almost didn’t see you there with all of your fall colors, national holidays, and general autumn revelry. Well, seeing as how it was mentioned before Resident Evil 5 wouldn’t be free, but now it is, I’m not going to buy Red Dead Redemption, I think I’ll wait for that and see if it “doesn’t come up” in the next few months. *wink, wink*
This isn’t so PS Plus related, but please add the functionality to upgrade from a sub-account to a master account. Creating a new account isn’t an option because I would lose all the content I have purchased and my trophies and this should really become the end goal of a sub account which is to branch out to your own PS3.
Otherwise, I am happy to see sales on quality DLC (hopefully some free later down the road) and games along with some great free games as well… just stay consistent.
This is a nice Plus update, but i already owned RE5 Gold Edition on disc, and bought it for 45$ a few months, and now your giving it for free, i feel cheated wasting 45$ :(
good update! im consolidating my 60gb and 320gb for the slimmer 500gb this FRIDAY! looking forward to the ps plus 30 day trial :) but i already planned to renew anyway for the entire year!

one thing. off topic.
the ps store has difficulties searching for God of War: Ghost of Sparta/ps3 version. i tried searching it, it only gave me the psp version all the time. i was able to find it through the new search, but it only gave me the premium version which gave me the indication, that i never bought the game ever.. (which i purchased when i had ps+)
needless to say i had to go through my download list to get it back on my hdd. thought it would be some help to get that out. navigating is still a bit rough on the edges..
This is awesome I enjoy the re series on ps1 & 2 was holding off getting this just in case it showed up on plus. Now its here, now just waiting for ps+ for my vita but im still stuck on zero escape and nfs on my vita dunno how i am going to find the time for all the games. I think my purchase of ps+ last month was a great time to do it. Free ps vita and free ps3 games who could ask for more. Thanks Sony and Morgan.
Also Morgan your doing a great job, you keep doing your thing and know we appreciate you keeping us informed on this stuff. I hope u can get some inside info from polyphony about gran turismo vita sometime so I can be all pumped for that as well.
3rd week in a row of useless updates, the entire world has re5 already and if not i dunno why not its been discounted time and time again in the ps store. i guess ill have to stick to payday heist for another few weeks until something usefull is actually posted. there hasnt been a good month since feb!!!! and most the games posted are still from feb. i dont think im going to renew next month
I have a request. Tell them to make Gallop Racer I ( Playstation 1 game) available on playstation plus IGC with online support. Online support is the only thing that the game didn’t have because it was a PS1 game. Players would be able to use the game’s horses or they could also breed their own horses and play against each other online.
I got the platinum for Resident evil 6 for days ago. The best RE in my eyes. I had Resident evil 5 last year but now I will be getting this one again. I dont know why people have to say that RE 5 and 6 are bad games. It’s like no one is happy with anything SONY gives out for free. People should be happy that we dont have to PAY to use the PSN. thank you SONY keep up the great work.
Just thought of this, but it would be great if the Sort and Filter options could be brought up by using L2 and R2 instead of forcing us to scroll to the very top.
I just spent 40 bucks on psn. I spend too much money on psn. I only play most the games I buy once. I probably have over 200 games on psn now with the plus games included. Keep up the discounts. Oh, and give us Joe danger the movie, or thps HD. Theyre the only good games on psn I dont own now. Thanks.
Morgan what about plus users who already have RE5 gold??¿¿ This is like the third game they offer and I already have in my collection, is there anything u can do? Its sad to wait til plus offer a new game and realise i already have it :(
No problems! Not sure if its 6PM in USA too or different, EU’s store also updates a few hours later the last few weeks, but tonight you should be able to download and play RE5 Gold! Enjoy
Well, another free game that I already own. Am I supposed to buy a game or just way till I get it for free? Feels like paying for the same content twice. I’ve paid my ps+ service, and i buy a game, and they both give the same (old) game. I saw a suggestion about a trade in, or something like that, if it is offered a game that you, a dear sony fan and supporter of the industry, already bought.
If you haven’t played RE5 in the three years since has been released, what’s the good thing about getting for free now?
I think that free games should be worthy. Like, imagine, getting Dishonored, or any new releases. Maybe they could make it secret, so to keep the hype of what’s coming for PS+. Or do what they did when there were the Big Hack. Give you 3 out of 5 games to choose from.
Anyway, getting RE5 is extremely disapointing. It’s a good game (and that increases the number of people who already own it) but it’s 3 years old.
YEAH!!! Resident Evil 5 is an amazing game and i can’t wait to play the crap out of it :P and Portal is also an amazing game, i love how a few years back it won awards beating out uncharted 3 and skyrim :D
Agreed with poster above me that it is needed to give more recent retail AAA games for PS3. And then not just the sad selling ones like Motorstorm 3 (Motorstorm 2 is a much better game BTW).
Otherwise the more die hard gamer already owns the better games. PS+ then only becomes logical for new PS3 owners or those that never really bought a lot of games in the first place already.

I guess I’m in the minority here. I’m glad so many people can play RE5 now, but I think it was a poor choice with the timing. Just last month, many many people already got RE5 with the RE6 Anthology Edition. I understand not everyone bought it, but the option was still there. Its like someone was trying to sell a bunch of stuff cheap, there wasnt much interest, and now they’re just giving them away. I know that some free games released on PS+ will be ones I already own, but it just seems like a wasted giveaway now to a good chunk of the audience. That, or this is just a promotional ploy to sell more copies of RE6
While I appreciate what the PS+ team is doing and think the PS+program is a good idea, I really do think the program needs an overhaul. As the program is currently set-up, PS+ members that buy a lot of games are actually penalized for being members by paying AGAIN for content that they have already paid for. Like many posters here have already noted, PS+ should be revamped so as to either:
1) give gamers a choice of free games (i.e. a pick-one-of-three possibilities kind of thing), or
2) give people a PSN credit if they choose to NOT take the free offered game (for example, I played and beat RE5 many years ago and have no desire to play that terrible game again. In my proposed system, instead of choosing to download the game, I could choose say, a $2 credit that would be added to my PSN wallet in lieu of the free game. This system would satisfy both the PS+ members who actually want the free game and the PS+ members who already own or have played the free game).
I hope somebody at Sony America is actually open to suggestion as to how to make the PS+ program better ;-)
There are some operational hurdles in regards to implementing that type of system, but we are looking more closely at how to best take care of Plus members who may already have the content drops. But it would take some time, and although I do acknowledge the point, it may not be something we can address. But nevertheless, the feedback is helpful, thank you!
Say, I’ve always wondered…is there a specific time-frame on Tuesdays when PS+ updates? If there is, it’d be awesome to know, as I have to constantly check and recheck the PS Store while waiting for the update and stuff.
I still don’t see the game available to download in the PS+ section of the store. Whats going one. I was told to just wait 24 hrs. Well, it has been 24hrs and the game is still not there. I’ve done a system update. Everything is all there excluding the game.
BTW, for all those complaining cause you already have the game. Well guess what. Some people like myself don’t have this game nor have we ever played it. I can’t afford to always purchase game so thats why I got PS+ so I can have a new game (whether or not its really new new) to play every month. Now, it’s getting to be weekly. Which is great. So just because you already own the game doesn’t mean the game for November was a bad choice.
Another thing, go ahead and download the game. That way its easier on the system and performs a lot better then having to use an external data source (the disc) to pull content through the system. Having the game on the HDD requires less processing power and doesn’t wear out the system as fast.
It’s great to imagine getting a new title that was just released for PS+. However I think you need to reflect on it from the other side of the fence. You are a publisher that just spent $30 million dollars developing your brand new game. It’s release day and you are looking forward to selling you game and making $30 a copy. You want to sell a million copies and at least get your money back. Instead you decided to give it away for free and lose $30 million.
Sure it’s a bit dramatic, but you have to imagine that blockbuster AAA titles won’t happen at launch and would be at least months before they appear on PS+. Financially, the publisher can’t afford it. I know people will point out that they could survive by selling DLC for their game. I’m sure it makes large amounts of money but not $30 million.
Thanks +UnholyBahamut. I guess its just me being impatient. LOL. I’ll be waiting and it’ll be just that much better when I see it available when I get off of work.
I don’t know who told you to wait 24 hours and update your system but the store has not been updated yet by Sony.
The price change in the store needs to manually changed. The game will not be free until Sony pushed a big red button to make it free. They publish the store (change prices) at a Random time during the day on Tuesday of each week. It can happen from Noon- 8pm Pacific Time.
Wait until you see the post from Grace Chen for this weeks store update. When you see that post go to the store and find the RE5 game in the PS Plus update.

It’s about dam time we get a quality game on North American PS+. I hope this is the start of a trend and not just an aberration.

@315 You have the disc anyway, so you don’t have to download a large file, unless you wanted to. Saves should be compatible though.

This content will be available with the 11/6 PS Store Update. Usually it updates between 11a – 5pm PST.
