PlayStation Store Update 11-13-2012

It’s almost time for PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, and to prepare you can now pre-order it off the PlayStation Store. Continuing in the fighter theme, Tekken Tag Tournament 2 is available for download. A more cooperative option for your family gatherings, SingStar is now available with some free demo songs.

If you’re looking for the Call of Duty experience on the go, Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified is now up for download on PS Vita. For a more peaceful experience, Colors! is also available on PS Vita, so you can paint or doodle wherever you’d like.

PS Plus members can snag another free game this week as Quantum Conundrum enters the Instant Game Collection. There’s also a Timed Trial for Counter Strike: Global Offensive in case you missed it when it was only available via Automatic Download back in August. Rounding out the Plus member goodies this week are a few discounts on Machinarium, Choplifter HD and Super Stacker Party.

As always, please leave your thoughts in the comments below. You can also chat about this update in the PlayStation Community Forums.

God of War: Ascension Beta Update

PlayStation devotees who purchased God of War Saga for PlayStation 3 received a special 30-day PlayStation Plus voucher, which encouraged them to redeem on November 13th for exclusive access to the God of War: Ascension Beta.

Please note that the Beta will not be available today on the PlayStation Store. Development on Ascension and its exciting multiplayer content continues at a feverish pace, and an announcement regarding a Beta launch date is forthcoming.

If you are not currently a PlayStation Plus user and were planning to use the voucher included with the God of War Saga in order to access the PS Plus Ascension Beta, please do not redeem your voucher until the as-of-yet unannounced launch date. This will ensure that the 30-day PS Plus trial will afford you as many days of access to the Beta as possible.

Stay tuned for further updates regarding the Ascension Beta, and thank you for your ongoing support of the God of War series!

Crackle App. Finally. Thank you for that, I hope it’s good or I’ll complain :)

Any words when the crackle app will make its way to the vita?

Also, you guys should work on trying to make the “what’s new” session stand out and make it easier to distinguish from what’s old in the ps store. Furthermore, you should make it so that what we have already downloaded is easily distinguishable from what we haven’t downloaded. Before, there used to be a red cart icon, but now there’s literally nothing. Makes it hard to visualize and see what we have already DLed.

new update awesome , was on the store the other day trying to purchase Two Worlds 2 the search function didnt work, until i searched for “velvet” guess good thing i knew what i wanted.

also i like the new store, but when scrolling through whats new to see the new updates, maybe divide it between last week and this week so scrolling through the 250 items and trying to see what was new this week is not so hard, at least it would cut the list in half.

anyways good job this week :)

Everyone everywhere and every time, buy Machinarium.

@41 thats nothing. I spent $50 on One Piece, only for them to discount it at 40% off a couple weeks later. Not too mention discounting WWE Fan Axxess a week after it hit psn store.

Sony needs to get on top of this stuff. Its like they have no idea what they are doing with Plus until literally the day before they the tuesday updates.

Sony really needs to put more effort in the store update. I love you guys in every way but store updates are a little ridiculous. You need to update it at the same time everyday. I don’t care if its at 10 everyday but constantly checking/wondering when the update will come is really annoying. I mean, how hard is it to just put it up the same time every week. You could update at midnight, but at least I would know when its coming

My opinion: ALL war-based FPS are stupid. And so are many other FPS.

Only TimeSplitters is cool.

@50 then that just makes him look even more foolish. Too complain about a game’s price when he has no interest in playing it in the first place. If hes not trolling then he just sounds stupid.

Hey Morgan !

1. Since the new store arrived, most of the old content i obtained with PLUS doesn’t appears as purchased, and it’s shown with a price. If i try to acces it, the store says the content is not avaliable (¡?). The only way to access the content is trough the download list.

This happens with most of my content, some of it appears as purchased. Confusing. I lost my content ?, i’m not sure i understand if it’s a bug in the new store.

And very inconvenienant because the download list is slow to navigate.

2. I the future i will check the content of the store updates here in the blog, the new store is flashy but awfuly slow to navigate. Why did the admins rid of the folders ?, they made checking the store super fast and efficient. Now i have to navigate trough a sea of DLC i don’t care about just to get to the fantastic four table !. Spent an awkward half an hour going to the store, and after readin the update here, i didn’t knew about most of the new content.

Best wishes :)

Please fix the store. It is horribly slow, many of the items are not even showing (loading), everything is disorganized. Also it seems like there are items that are listed several times under the new category. It has been a real let down. I am a PS Fanatic and understand it will take some time, but the old store was great and I am having a real problem getting used to the new layout.

I cant understand how the team feels this is actually better. Roll out updates soon. Please.

I mean I know it takes time to go through them, but I believe they aren’t posting our ideas after all. No matter how many different ideas you share, seems like the mod team isn’t allowing any to be visible to vote for.

I bought the Fantastic Four table for Marvel Pinball back when that game was free for Plus members. Why is the store telling me to buy it again for Zen Pinball 2? Shouldn’t it be free since I’ve already paid for it once? All of the other Marvel Pinball tables worked like that.

@ Morgan – Why are there no PS Mobile updates mentioned in the PS Store update like the EU. Even if you had a separate weekly post every Wednesday it would certainly help bring more awareness to the PS Mobile offering.

Also, I just recently bought Tales from Space: Mutant Blobs and remember a prior post stating that any game that was given a PS+ discount would not be offered for free through PS+ for a few months and yet the game will be part of the PS Vita instant collection next week.

Hey, I’ve got a question about PlayStation All-Stars. I want to get the game on my Vita as soon as possible on launch day since I’ll be on a 4-hour car ride home from college, but my brother will be picking up my PS3 GameStop preorder back at home for me. Will there be a Vita download code included in the PS3 copy that he can just tell me over the phone so I can download it and play on the go, or are there some account-based shenanigans that will prevent that? Thanks.

The bundle price has to be $9.99 and the blog post is a typo. There’s no way they’d sell the bundle for the same price as a single game in the bundle.

The new store layout is nothing but frustration. More difficult to browse and see what has come out every week, slower to navigate. I hope that it is improved soon, the more frustrating it is, the less useful it is!

Can we please have the option to use the OLD psn store? Or perhaps just a text list to browse – a white screen with black text links for content would be far superior and more usable than this new store. Seriously, it’s a heinous vomit stream of unnecessary pixels.

At least the store on my vita is still cohesive.

Hey Morgan!

I left a comment and got a response from you last week about two things, one being the fact that the PS Store thinks that my Visa card is not a valid credit card (which, it is, I bought dinner tonight with it! :D ) and 2. the inFamous and Wipeout HD issue with it trying to transfer to a PSP System even though they’re not PSP games.

Just wondering if there were any updates, or any workarounds for the credit card issue without having to seek out PSN cards, or any news on the latter.

Thanks in advance!

+ Endrax on November 13th, 2012 at 7:45 pm said:

The new store design is TERRIBLE compared with the last revision.

1) It displays LESS USEFUL information per page using stupidly HUGE banner pictures
2) The design is DISTRACTING instead of GUIDING me to what I want (to give you money for content)
3) Its MORE WORK to find what I want (if I find it at all) hence I am less likely to buy
4) Seriously you guys threw out all rules of UI design for this. Its like Windows 8 METRO (which is already an annoying UI) on steroids.

I don’t quite understand what drove this design. Was it the desire to have superfluous “pretty images” all over the place? If so please FIRE the design team. They’ve gone mad with power.

Start up PS store wait over a minute for it to load.
Locate Singstar ap and attempt to add it to my cart.
wait 2 minutes, AN ERROR HAS OCCURED
try again, after another 2 minutes, AN ERROR HAS OCCURED
try again, this time only a minute. This item is already in your cart.
Click my cart wait 2 minutes AN ERROR HAS OCCURED
Try again, get it, go through the menus and start the download.

Move onto the crackle app. Click add it to cart wait 2 minutes AN ERROR HAS OCCURED
click it again adds to cart. Click my cart and opens right away. Click proceed with checkout get AN ERROR HAS OCCURED… try again 9 more times with the same results. Turn off my ps3 without getting the rest of the stuff I want.

I understand it’s a new store, and that there are bound to be some issues, but it’s been a week now, and things are worse for me then they were last week. At the very least please figure out how to speed up the store. The long boot up is terrible but if the store runs smoothly after that it would be fine. But when the long boot up is the least of the problems just bleh. Please fix the slowness asap as I like what you guys offer, but I doubt I can bother to care anymore if it’s going to be such a pain to get items I want.

Sooo, I feel dumb. I totally bought Quantum Conundrum for $14.99 after going through the multiple screens saying that it was free. The CSR did tell me that my request for a refund “has been submitted” and I should get a refund “upon approval” in about 30 days “depending on my bank.”

While it’s technically my fault for clicking the confirm purchase button, I must say that the 3 previous occurrences of the word FREE in the whole process did cause me to drop my guard.

As much as I want to be cool about technical hiccups this one does kinda suck.
