The Festive Minipack and Santa Costume Return!

What a whirlwind year this has been for LittleBigPlanet, we recently released two brand new games and we’re now heading into December, which can only mean one thing — Christmas is on the way!

To help kick the festivities into gear, we will be re-releasing the Santa Costume and Festive Minipack this week, which you can use to help craft your own Christmas creations.

Festive Goodies Minipack

This is just the beginning of the fun though! The Winter Seasonal Creator Kit will be seeing a release later this month too and we even have a couple more surprises for everybody to look forward to… More news on those soon, so stay tuned!

LittleBigPlanet 2

LittleBigPlanet 2: Mm Picks

The Mm Picks this week include some classic platforming fun which finds Sackboy in A Sticky Situation, a real-mind bending journey through reality in Gap the Mind and a wonderful puzzle game in Drop Puzzle.

Seasonal Spirits Crown Contest

Whilst everybody is getting ready to join in the holiday cheer, the folks over at LBPCentral.comand LittleBigNetwork.com are doing things a little differently this year and are working on putting together a particularly Creepy Christmas with their new Seasonal Spirits Crown Contest.

Seasonal Spirits

The rules are fairly simple, just create a new level featuring a real mash-up of Halloween and Christmas themes, and then let the fun begin!

For full details on this new contest, head on over to LBPCentral.com or LittleBigNetwork.com now.

LittleBigPlanet PS Vita

LittleBigPlanet PS Vita: Team Picks

Over on LittleBigPlanet PS Vita, we have another great community level for you to play. Skanda Heaven by o-tera brings 8-bit gaming back to your Vita. This level definitely deserves a download and play!

Create Your Winter Wonderlands!

It’s December now and you have just picked up your Festive Minipack and Santa Costume, so all that is left to do is to decorate LittleBigPlanet with some holiday cheer.

Festive Spirit Pin

Over the next month, we will be featuring some especially themed Winter Wonderland Mm Picks and Team Picks, so be sure to start working on your holiday creations and send them our way. We also want to see your decorated Pods, Planets, Moons or anything else that you have carefully crafted for the holiday season.

If you put together anything special for the holidays, be sure to tweet us @LittleBigPlanet with your creation and we may just feature your creation later this month and you could find yourself the lucky recipient of a Rare LittleBigPlanet Cap for getting into the festive spirit! It is the season of giving, after all!

I’m having loads of fun with LBPV this week.

Just a question, for the cross controller DLC pack, do I have to have the DLC downloaded on the PS3 or PSV or both?

I’m asking this because I buy games from my other account since I can’t find a PSN card for Bulgaria.

Thanks :D.

Sack it to me? SACK IT TO YOU!

Is the festive pack coming to LBP vita too? I just had an onslaught of dlc I downloaded last week. Yay, my tron costumes work cross-dlc.

Still looking forward to that LBP vita dlc cross compatibleness with LBP2.

Also, if anyone from sony is reading this, please hurry the Tokyo Jungle Remote Play Patch. I been waiting and waiting and waiting, japan got it in september ;(

I’m so disappointed by the lack of good LBP Vita user-created levels. It’s a barren wasteland compared to the first few months of the console games. I only play the game once every couple of weeks now and there’s only a couple good levels that were created in time…IF THAT!

I’m missing so much costumes for the Vita version. Can the people who already own the christmas costumes etc. Be able to just download them on the Vita. Cause I had every special occasion costume and it would take a whole year just to get them all :(, Altso when are we going to get level packs for Vita, I would love some, and even give the Gravity Material etc. from older ones on PS3. cause the Vita has so much amazing variety, heck even more then LBP2 but problem is it has such alittle bit to work with compared to lbp2 cause if like me, all the lbp1 stuff were in it and lbp2 and then I had Metal Gear and Pirates of the Carribean packs and a few smaller packs etc. Please add more stuff like the free little creating kits atleast

any news in terms of LBP Karting & when any costumes will work with it ? odd that when LBP V launched they immediately had some DLC available, but I checked this weekend while playing LBP K & still nothing … still hopeful … :-) thanks. I have every LBP game & they are a joy to play. hope that with the LBP K demo, more folks will experience first hand what a great game it is …

Nothing trumps the Gravity Rush pack.
That was probably my favorite LBP release this year.

This has nothing to do with the post, but for some reason my sackboy has a white glow surrounding him in little big planet psvita. This makes the gameplay a little irritating and I was wondering if anyone knows how to fix this.

Still waiting on the DLC costumes for LBP Karting, they were a big investment of money and now when I play Karting I feel something is sorely lacking, please hurry and bring them on!!

I got the Gravity Rush pack for LBP2 but found out that it did not translate to LBPV and I could not just buy the standalone Kat costume for the Vita because “you already have this on LBP2″ or some error msg like that. Am I doing something wrong or do I just have to buy the whole GR pack again for Vita? Which I’ll probably pass on and just use another costume. Thanks.

@12: Check your download list, if not there then wait until they fix it. I saw other people had problems with it when buying on PS3.

The Gravity Rush DLC issue isn’t fixed and sony keeps blowing me off. Please Steven what is going on with that cause I don’t trust cross-compatibility DLC anymore because of this and it will likely change my buying habits if the dlc doesn’t work as advertised.

Why can’t i play online now on LBP:Karting???
Did a update today for the game & now i can’t play it online??? :-/ It says – “Your connection to the Game Server was lost. You must be connected to access online portions of LittleBigPlanet Karting”
I keep trying but it always says the same. Was it the update that has messed it up maybe???

Unfortunately I missed the free Halloween Costume, will you be releasing this again for the Creepy Christmas Seasonal Spirit Crown Contest?

or will I have to wait until the end of the new year?

+ Freshh23 on December 4th, 2012 at 1:12 pm said:

I hope the DLC that should be free are free because one thing I hate about LBP and can’t stand is that DLC like skins, costumes, etc aren’t free when they should be free. This is why I will never spend a dime on LBP games, I wait for it to be free on Plus like LBP2, get it for free somehow like LBP with the Welcome Back program or if I’m ever going to buy it I wait until the Super Edition comes out with all the DLC included.

+ jason_redemption on December 4th, 2012 at 3:28 pm said:

@19 None of the DLC is required, so why refuse to spend money on an amazing game simply because there is DLC available to those who want to spend extra money on costume DLC…you might disagree with the pricing or think that the developers/publishers are greedy but that doesn’t take away from the value of the game along with the user generated content…gosh what’s up with people and their self-entitlement these days??

In other news, when will the LBP:K costume compatibility update be live so we can use our more interesting costumes in LBP:K?

+ Freshh23 on December 4th, 2012 at 3:38 pm said:

Because that post launch content doesn’t cost enough money, time or manpower to make to justify charging for it. It doesn’t matter if it’s required or anything like that, it’s about principal, what’s right and fair. Do some research, even video game companies themselves have said that it should always be free. There’s free DLC on some games that are way bigger in content than paid DLC, there’s no excuse. Also, none of that has nothing to do with self entitlement. It’s being a smart consumer and not supporting greedy, anti consumer, ripping off the consumer practices that if you do keep on purchasing into that they will continue and only get worse as history shows.
