Oddworld Stranger’s Wrath

(PS Vita) — Oddworld just got … Stranger. In Oddworld Stranger’s Wrath, players step into the role of the Stranger, a rough and tumble bounty hunter who tracks down outlaws for moolah. Using a special weapons system that gives a whole new meaning to “live” ammo, players encounter deviant species and hostile challenges along the way. Oddworld Stranger’s Wrath combines first and third-person gameplay with familiar Oddworld elements and an all-new engine to deliver a unique gameplay experience.

Originally released in 2005, Stranger’s Wrath has been faithful reproduced on PlayStation Vita with a raft of enhancements, including: stunning HD visuals (with improved character models as well as new detail-enhancing effects such as normal mapping and self-shadowing,) re-mastered dialogue and additional bonus material.

Batman: Arkham Asylum — In Batman: Arkham Asylum the player assumes the role of Batman as he delivers The Joker to Arkham Asylum. There, the imprisoned super-villains have set a trap and an immersive combat gaming experience unfolds. With an original script penned by Emmy Award-winning Batman writer Paul Dini, the game brings the universe of DC Comics’ detective to life!

Batman: Arkham Asylum exposes players to a unique, dark and atmospheric adventure that takes them to the depths of Arkham Asylum — Gotham’s psychiatric hospital for the criminally insane. Gamers will move in the shadows, instigate fear amongst their enemies and confront The Joker and Gotham City’s most notorious villains who have taken over the asylum. Using a wide range of Batman’s gadgets and abilities, players will become the invisible predator and attempt to foil The Joker’s demented scheme.

Zombie Driver HD — Fight your way through the streets of a zombie infested city to save the survivors of a disastrous chemical accident that changed most of the city’s population into mindless brain hungry monsters. Time is your enemy and your car is your weapon as you race through the streets smashing everything on your way including fences, phone booths, street lamps and hordes of zombies. When the gruesomely mutated zombies become too much to handle, buy a new car or get more guns and upgrades installed. You can earn more money for finishing side quests, making kill combos and searching for hidden prizes. Game play is unrestricted and the player can freely roam through the dark streets, alleys and backyards searching for the best shortcuts or hidden power ups.

Karateka — Created on an Apple II by Jordan Mechner in his Yale dorm room, Karateka became a #1 bestseller and influenced a generation of gamers with its groundbreaking rotoscoped animation and cinematic cutscenes. 28 years later, Mechner returns to his indie roots with a new take on Karateka for today’s digital game platforms, featuring art by Jeff Matsuda (The Batman) and music by Grammy-winning composer Christopher Tin (Civilization IV).

Whether you are a nostalgic Karateka fan or new to the game, Karateka will charm you with its classic love story set in feudal Japan. Fight to save the lovely Mariko from the evil warlord Akuma and reunite her with her True Love!

Labyrinth Legends — Explore ancient tombs of lost civilizations in Labyrinth Legends. Evade concealed traps. Solve intuitive puzzles. Tolkien. The game follows the original storylines of The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, and The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King. Players can team up in pairs as adorable LEGO The Lord the Rings minifigures to experience countless dangers, solve riddles and battle formidable foes on their journey to Mount Doom.

Knytt Underground (PS Vita/PS3) — Knytt Underground, the sequel to the massively popular Knytt and Knytt Stories, is an exciting platform game offers gamers exploration in an infinitely breathtaking atmosphere.

Burn The Rope (PS Vita) — Burn the Rope is a unique game for the pyro in all of us. All you have to do is feed the fire! In this challenging game, you try to burn as much rope as you can in each level. There’s a catch! The fire only burns upwards, leaving you to tilt and turn your phone to keep your flame alive!

As you progress through the levels, you’ll encounter bugs crawling along the rope. Different bugs have different reactions to the flame. For example, the ant changes the color of the flame so you can burn different colored ropes, and the spider shoots out a web bridge so you can access parts of the level that you could not before.

Heavy Fire: Afghanistan — Heavy Fire: Afghanistan – The Chosen Few offers blisteringly fast-paced action set in a modern day Afghanistan

But when the procedure goes horribly wrong, Quaid becomes a hunted man. Finding himself on the run from the police – controlled by Chancellor Cohaagen (Bryan Cranston), the leader of the free world – Quaid teams up with a rebel fighter (Jessica Biel) to find the head of the underground resistance (Bill Nighy) and stop Cohaagen. • Need Mass Effect 1 demo.

  • I heard Strangers Wrath was gonna be $15 if so that’s a bit much in my view

  • Also would love a Hitman and AC3 demo.

  • @2 Will you just stop asking about it? every single week you are always up there asking for KHBBS. Let them decide when to release it!

  • The Podcast said that Bioshock 1 is coming for plus. Hope thats this week.

  • @22 agree, Batman AA would be nice for PS+

  • Strangers Wrath and the Little Big Planet Vita DLC are on my Christmas list. Sony’s gift to me!!!!

  • Guys if you watched the Knytt Underground trailer you’ll see that it’s part of the PS Instant Game Collection.

  • 50% of minimum for LBP Karting over in Europe 10% more for plus members this is why every week I find myself upset with the US store they aren’t fighting for my dollar

  • Oddworld on Vita?!! Awesome!

  • waiting for a new PSVITA for PS+
    :/

  • Would you guys just leave #2 alone. At least he is consistent about it. And it is something to look forward to every week. Besides I would love to see it on here too. It would make my week if it was. Get em #2, read you next week. Might even join you.

  • i want Batman AC , crysis 2 and modnation racer for PS plus users

  • I thought the console version of WWE WrestleFest ws supposed to be coming out this week. Any info?

  • Labyrith Legend and Zombie Driver were the games i was looking forward to at first, but now this ‘Karateka’ game sounds interesting as well.

  • And for any iD fans here who havn’t heard, there’s a pretty expansive DLC pack coming out for RAGE this week for the nice price of $4.99. As far as I know right now, it’s a campaign expansion, I’m still trying to find out if it’s going to include any new online co-op missions based around the new campaign content.

  • While I appreciate the Vita game updates but are you EVER going to release more PSOne and PSP games for Vita??? It’s been what, 2 months since the last major release? Is there even anymore progress or you simply think we’ll forget.

  • @55 i hope not. Don’t want our free game slot wasted on an old game you can find in the bargin bin for $5 at gamestop.

  • Knytt Underground and Burn The Rope for me. Also the demo for Ascension with Total Recall? Count me in.

  • #68 I was thinking the same thing. They said they would at lest put them in here and there. I am beginning to lose faith in what sony is promising us for the future.

  • Labyrinth Legend and Kyntt interest me. I wish they had demos. I saw in a trailer Kyntt might be going to the instant game collection for plus members so that will be great.

  • Odd world looks good too. Maybe if the price is right…

  • I heard Stranger’s Wrath would be 14.99, I will pick it up even if it is. I got the PS3 version due to plus, so, the least I can do is pay for the Vita version. I will be playing Sonic as well on my Vita, but that will be a retail purchase.

As for those that are asking for BBS on the PSN, I don’t think that will happen any time soon. Also, just take a look at Square Enix , they hate (or has something against) Sony as of lately. Where is Final Fantasy X HD already? Versus 13?

Also, why is the 3DS getting a remake of a PS1 game (DQ7), but we can’t get a remake of FF7?

  • @69 GOTY costs more. I got it for $8 from pawnshop back in August, traded it back in for Burnout Revenge.

  • I saw you mean Bioshock 1, but its not crap. Its hard to find it on disc and many don’t know it came out for PS3 then.

  • No need PSone classic’s for the Vita, oh well…maybe next week.

  • waiting for ps plus instant game collection. any idea when we can get demos for newer vita games like assassin’s creed liberatiion and black ops declassified?

  • Why does nobody ever reply to our Drop comments? I mean, the information for Resident Evil is still incorrect….

  • Is there ever a day where people will stop complaining here…it gets old and you know Sony is mot reading nor do they give two flying figs about your complaints. Grow the eff up….

  • Am I the only one who noticed that the description for Resident evil: Retribution is the same as the description for Loopers?

  • @74

In regards to your FF7 inquiry, making games for 3DS and for current gen is completely different…though that shouldn’t have to said. The lack of intelligence and constant bickering makes me not want to read comments. Where are all the thoughtful and insighful comments, this is turning in the Gametrailers community.

  • @82
    Your from Gametrailers?

  • WTF Where is GTA VICE CITY!!!!!!!!

  • Also WTF Why are all the games on PS STORE ARE AT A RIP OFF PRICE NHL 12 59.99$ WTF NHL 13 59.99$ WTF .. LOL

  • When will we be able to play SPYRO and CRASH on PSVITA? Why can we play these on psp but not vita yet!?!?!

  • @7 LovesJapanManga – Hope so! Asura’s Wrath falls into that “on Games on Demand, not in the Full Games” distinction; shame, since it’s a beautiful, literally awesome game, particularly the add-on Part IV.

@55 viceforce – Ah, delicious. With it being an earlier multiplatform of this generation that not only released on PS3, but with trophies, I’ve been holding back on starting up my PC copy. Yeah, yeah, “play the game for the game”, but with as much as I’ve invested in the trophies metagame (though I settled on Turtles in Time Re-Shelled only plopping onto my brother’s X360), two birds with one stone. My backlog’s vast enough, anyway.

@63 fantasyplayer – Come to think of it (assuming IIRC), The Drop’s post #2 is typically the KHBbS one. Such consistency!

@Sony – Yes, get back to the trickle of PS1/PSP compatibility updates for the PS Vita. Maybe you’re saving them up for a big Yuletide “Drop”, but that’d still be a worse play than one or two a week.

  • LOOPER was better than I thought it would be!! :D

  • Nothing for me on this drop. Guess I’ll wait for the plus update, before I even think about renewing my plus membership.

  • The real question here is, will the people who’ve already bought stranger’s wrath HD have to pay for it AGAIN?

  • @8: Licensing issues with Legends 1 & 2. Capcom would definitely release those if they could. I mean, they go for a huge amount used these days. Capcom would rather get money for it than get nothing, but they can’t release them.

Sucks, but licensing is the reason we miss out on a lot of digital release on old stuff.

    @2: Licensing. Deal with it.

  • @63 It’s not a matter of them having something to look forward to but rather it’s something that was NEVER ANNOUNCED and yet there’s complaining going on to the wrong people because they themselves got worked up and hopeful over something coming out that nobody ever said actually was coming out.

  • Resident Evil Retribution actually sounded interesting with Bruce Willis taking the lead… too bad it’s just a copy and paste error on the author’s part.

  • @ 93 (Aeirou)

LOL. Bruce Willis would most certainly be an interesting twist to the Resident Evil series!

  • @82, I know there is a difference on making games on the 3DS, Vita and current Gen Home Consoles. But, I don’t think you read my question well enough to understand it. I never asked for FF7 or DQ7 to be on a Sony Platform, I own a 3DS as well, so, I will be able to pick it up and play it without a problem.

My question, was a general one. I’m asking where are they and not why aren’t they on my preferred platform of choice. “Where is Final Fantasy X HD already? Versus 13?” Both games announced a year or more back, but we haven’t heard much about them since. Same as The Last Guardian and Agent. Maybe it’s the case of being announced to early?

My last question was not as obvious, but I was asking why is it that we are seeing a remake for a PS1 game, but we can’t see a remake for a PS1 game, all the fans have been asking for. Maybe I should have never added the 3DS in my comment, but than again that it’s the only console it’s coming the game will be on.

    “Also, why is the 3DS getting a remake of a PS1 game (DQ7), but we can’t get a remake of FF7? ”

People have their own opinions and can act the way they want. I can only hope they don’t act that way at work or school, but it is their choice.

  • Go see the other Total Recall with Arnold Schwarzenegger to compare it to the new one.

  • Finally, Batman: Arkham Asylum.

  • Both Batman: Arkham Asylum and Arkham City have freeplay once the story mode is completed..

  • im tired of old games and cheap graphic come sony you have the tech to make our money worth while instead you worry about the old game market its time to ditch the old and move forward and not look back its the only way

  • btw the 3ds game market sucks i own a 3dsxl and well it collects dust but my vita kicks way more butt any day
