What is a Worm Hole?

The Worm Hole is Sackboy’s brilliant new teleportation tool that will enable him to travel safely from one Worm Hole to another within the same level without fear of losing a life.

This handy new tool will even allow Sackboy to teleport from your PS3 to your PS Vita and vice-versa, should you want him to return home. The most intuitive and creative level designers will even be able to use the tool to remove Sackboy from gameplay and effectively lock him in a state of stasis whilst action is taking place elsewhere in the level…However we’ll leave it up to you and Sackboy to discover just what potential his new Worm Hole discovery holds for LittleBigPlanet and the rest of the Omniverse!

  • I was hoping this pack had new LBP Vita tools like unphisicalise and memoriser tool. Very disapointing…. :-(

  • Still no answer huh. Thanks Sony, great way to treat your loyal customers.

  • @196 so you also noticed that. We are missing a couple music pieces and the Holo eyes, along with a very crappy setup for the cross control. I hope that all of this is fixed soon.

  • I got to play all the main levels. Nobody who joined me had any interest in playing the 2 side levels. :(
Anyway, all throughout my time playing, I was getting this message: “The connection to the PS3 was paused”. Or something like that. It happened way too often, and I never got booted from the connection.

Come on, SONY. This is prime “swoop in and let us know you are working on this issue” time!
ANY communication is better than this silence.

  • @149 thank you. finally my psvita got connected

  • Tiberus–thanks. Comment 185 was exactly what I needed to get connected. Wish they let me know I had to play LBP2 a little first before it would show up

  • After two prior successful connections with the cross-controller, my third session failed. Again, I was stuck with the Vita app and LBP2 unable to talk to each other.

Once again, I decided to tweak my network settings. This time I set configured my DNS settings as suggested by @179 (Kinematic9). I also configured my router with the same DNS settings, although I’m not sure that was necessary. After reading up on Google’s open DNS server, I decided it sounded like a good idea, regardless of the cross-controller needs.

After making the changes, my Vita connected with LBP2 right away. I’ll be firing everything up again tonight after work. If it connects right away, I’m going to consider the problem solved.

One other note: I did play around with QoS (Quality of Service) settings on my router. (I have a Netgear WNDR3800 router.) I set some QoS rules that prioritize anything coming from my Vita’s or PS3’s MAC address. Hard to say if it has any effect, but it certainly doesn’t hurt.

I played through all the levels last night and I have to say it was quite fun. As someone to likes to make “techy” looking constructions in create mode, I have to say that I love all the great new materials, decorations, and stickers we get with this DLC.

However, going back to LBP2 create mode after experiencing the enhanced features of LBP Vita was sort of a backward step. I’d really love to see some of the Vita’s enhancements make it into LBP2. In particular, I’d love to see the enhanced UV Tool (allows resizing the texture on the material), Dephysicalize tool, and Invisible Material make it into LBP2 at some point.

If you bought this DLC and are regretting it due to the connection problems, don’t. I know it sucks and is frustrating trying to get it to work, but when you finally get it going, you’ll forget about all that and have a blast going through the new levels.

I don’t know if MM’s silence is because they are hard at work on this issue or what, but I really wish they’d at least acknowledge the problem. There’s so much content for the paltry $5, and the levels are very well done (and quite clever in areas). It’s too bad that the connection problems mar an otherwise amazing experience.

  • How long is the connection process taking I did all the network settings changes and now I can still can’t get past step 1

  • hi there i am huge fan of the shadow hearts series . i event like it better then the final fantasy series. its the best game for the PlayStation 2 i ever play , i was hoping they would come out with an shadow hearts 4 for the PlayStation but every year there nothing . its sad . i hope for an Shadow Hearts HD Collection . that the only reason I’ll keep my PlayStation 2. :(

  • LBP Cross Controller STILL NOT WORKING!!! I WANT MY MONEY BACK SONY!!!! Keep fooling your customers!! THIS IS THE LAST TIME I BUY ANYTHING FROM YOU GUYS!!!

  • I could not get past Step 1. I tried wireless & wired for the PS3. I tried disc & download for LBP2. I tried an old router. I even tried my wife’s Vita. Nothing helped.

Then I tried using my cable modem directly. The cable modem has a wireless router, but I have always used a separate one.

    That fixed it!

After this, I went back to my original setup, but the cross-controller didn’t work.

    So, some suggestions…

    * Try other routers. Borrow one from a friend or relative.

    * If this helps, then you will (from what I can tell) have to use the other router permanently. The issue doesn’t just affect the download process, but also affects playing the game.

    * If you get desperate, buy a new router from the store (check the return policy first). If it doesn’t do the trick, return it (and maybe try a different one). If it does work, then keep the router. Of course, this assumes that buying a new router just to play LBP2 cross-controller (and any other cross-controller stuff that may come out in the future) is worth it to you.

I hope this helps some of you who are stuck in the extremely frustrating place I was in until an hour ago.

    -Jay

  • Alright I’m done trying I’ve wasted enough time trying I’ve tried all the different solutions and can’t get past step one

  • @212

So you are telling me once the Vita Downlands the file, the set-ups for both the Vita and PS3 always have to be the same set-up to play the DLC? If so wooooooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwww!!!

  • @214 – All I’m trying to say is that I tried three routers before getting the download to work, and once the download completed, I fired up the game (naturally). The game worked fine. Then I tried one of my other routers, hoping that it was only the download part that was fussy about which router to use. Unfortunately, with the other router, the game didn’t work. So what I’m try to say is, if you need to borrow a router from a friend to get the download to work, I wouldn’t expect the game to work on your normal router. I’m sure lots of routers work (and lots don’t work). But, from what I can tell, the download and the game have the same requirements (whatever that might be).

    Hope this helps!

  • @215

So I finally got the file to DL onto the Vita after I took my router from my room to where my PS3 is set up. From there my WiFi signal for both systems were at 100%. Now I want to movie my router back to my computer room, will this effect gameplay etc?

  • I thought paying all the money i paid for my Vita and PS3 and the separate LBP games would be enough to warrant the ability to use my Vita as a controller!? Its as insulting as making people pay for Oddworld : Strangers Wrath for the Vita if they already paid for it on PS3.

  • Hello Everyone,

Sooo I am hoping someone can help me with this… maybe I am doing some stupidly wrong but here is the story:

I bought the cross controller kit for the ps3 & vita but both of them are only about 100kb every time I read about this the cross controller should be around ~500MB or so, is there any other thing I am missing?

I have LBP 2 in both disc and digital format and have the PS3 and Vita updated to the latest firmware? Is there anything else I need to download that I don’t know of? Like an extra, I don’t know cross controller package or an online pass or something?

Any help would be appreciate it!!!

    Thanks Everyone!!

    regards,

    Lordflama

  • Is Cross-Controller compatible with Move Paint? In other words, would it be possible to use the Vita touch screen to edit a sticker instead of pointing the Move controller at the TV?
