PlayStation Store Update 01-15-13 Frequently Asked Questions

  • I pre-ordered my copy of DMC, however, when I try to play it, it says that I need to renew my license. How do I fix?
Due to a fix with allowing pre-order customers to get the bonus content, you may need to go back in the PlayStation Store and click ‘Download’ on the DMC game page. You don’t need to redownload if it’s already on your PS3. Just click the download button and that should ‘renew your license’.

It always makes me laugh whenever I see that Angry Birds Trilogy game selling for 40$. I mean, a compilation of three games you could either play for free (or almost free) on other platforms, released for consoles for 40$. I know it’s not related in any way to Sony, but Activision is really insulting my gamer intelligence (seems to be an habit for them anyway).

And I know 2013 is just beginning, so I will reserve my real complaints for later this year, but so far, the PS store updates have been pretty anemic this side of the ocean. And I know it’s not entirely SCEA’s fault, as I’m pretty sure they need to get authorizations from publishers to put anything on sale or give it for free. But still, the holiday sales were a joke (although this is also true of Sony’s console competitors), and while giving Darksiders to PS+ subscribers is awesome, there’s still that lingering feeling that Sony doesn’t really care about us PS fans. And even if they DO care about us, it doesn’t really look like it from our perspective.

+ TwinDad on January 16th, 2013 at 8:22 am said:

Europe tell PS+ subscribers the content for the entire month of January up front. The US gets informed of thier content a week at a time. Morgan has said that the Plus content for US Vita will be given at the end of January. SO we will get whatever Vita game is coming in the next two weeks. That makes us equal to Europe for Vita content.

As Japan goes, they did get much more content than the US, cannot really compare that fairly.

@BlueBl1zzard I understand that there have been some good games in the past but speaking currently all that’s been available are minis (Chronovolt, Mutant Blobs and Jetpack) while the PS3 gets games like Darksiders and Bioshock 2. I would like to see more retail release games like Madden, Lumines or Rayman Origins.

+ The_Dukenator on January 16th, 2013 at 8:32 am said:

@190 I laughed at that. But he probably doesn’t know how to update his hard drive.

Even I got my ps3 used with a 160GB for $90. Don’t know why the guy was selling it with 2 games when I showed up that day at the pawn shop over a year ago.

@ DaCommonCold Your question has been answered numerous times already. You need at least twice the amount of memory (20GB) to download the game. After the game downloads and installs, you should get 10GB back.

@ 200,

Seriously, NFS Most Wanted is SO worth the 40$ price of admission… I would say that it is one of the best game for the VITA out there, and one that proves that the handheld can run the same games as the big consoles do. This is really Burnout Paradise 2.0 (it’s made by Criterion too), although with a focus on police pursuits and street races (of course, hence the name!). It has a truckload of replay value too.

I rarely say that, but giving that game away would be a real shame because the developper DESERVES our money. Unless Sony compensates them, of course (don’t know if Sony do that when they give a game for free).

Anyway, NFS:MW, to me is a “shut up and take my money” kind of game… Day 1 purchase, never regretted it, and played the hell out of it (still am).

ACIII: Liberation is nice (playing it right now) but still feel a little bit “cut-down” (so far) compared to the bigger games of the series. Got it on sale (10$ off), and it’s about worth what I paid for it.

But don’t wait until NFS:MW goes for free on PS+. Go buy it now. It’s definitely worth every $.

How are the PS2 classics chosen? Is there voting, or election process?

I’d really like to see Dragon Quest 8, and SMT 3 : Nocturne made available.

@cheddar2010 In the PS Plus blog post, Morgan said “One other note; some of you noticed that inFAMOUS 2 left PlayStation Plus as a free game last week. This was an error and it will be back in the Instant Game Collection on the 1/15 PlayStation Store Update.”

If it’s not on there now I assume they’re working to get it back up and it should be available soon.

@RE4LNOiZE_42 I agree, although I like Burnout Paradise more, NFS: MW Vita is definitely a very good game, and in my opinion has some of the best multiplayer of any game on the console so far (except that pressing the PS button automatically disconnects you from online, please fix this Sony!!). I finally recently beat every race with every car at about 40 hours of playtime, and am now only 4 trophies away from the platinum! Now I need to find that last billboard….

The DLC was released a month… let me say that again A MONTH AGO and it does not work. How can you release something nd not have it work. This is an EPIC FAIL on someone’s part. Multiple posts show everyone is having the problem and the only reply so far is they are aware of it.

Meanwhile XBOX had the issue and it was patched immediately plus XBOX got numerous patched for other issues with game. PS3 gets a big F…You. No patches, no fixes and no updates to problems, all secrecy. How bout a refund to the people who purchased it or give it free to all those you have inconvenienced.

This is like buying a car with no keys for it. Great I have it but can’t use it. So what is the sense. Will Sony reply about this MAJOR SCREWUP and give us an update or will we get no answer and a lot of really ticked customers.
