Dead or Alive 5+ is coming to PlayStation Vita on March 19th! Now you can enjoy the same powerful new moves and acclaimed in-depth fighting system with over 20 playable characters and blockbuster stages from the PlayStation 3 version. Today I would like to tell you about a few of the new features we’ve included in the PS Vita version.

Cross Play
Dead or Alive 5+ will have cross-platform compatibility with PS3, which means you fight not only against other players on PlayStation Vita, but also against players on PS3. All characters available on PS3 can be used on PS Vita as well. Battles run at 60fps for both systems, so there’s no lag or stress even when playing cross-platform. This will allow players to enjoy serious battles across the two platforms!

Cross Goods
Many have questioned us about the DLC content. Yes, the DLC content can be shared between PS3 and PS Vita, so players can play with their desired costumes wherever and whenever they want. We will have delivered over 100 costumes as DLC by the end of this month. Players who purchased them on PS3 can use the same costumes on their PS Vita, and vice versa.

Cross Save
Players can also share their save data between PS3 and PS Vita, so you can enjoy the battle even when on the move. This means the costumes that you unlocked in PS3′s different modes can be used straight away on the PS Vita, and vice versa.

New touch control fighting
In Dead or Alive 5+, you can attack your opponents with a simple tap of the touch screen. Characters react based on where they are touched or attacked during a fight. This allows you to enjoy the fight from the traditional third person view, or hold your PS Vita vertically to interact with characters from a close-up first person perspective. I like this!

  • The new Tutorial Mode will teach you the skills needed to come out on top in a variety of different fight scenarios.
  • There is three times the detail for each move in real time – like delay interval frames, move reach and more.

    • I heard this is a really good 3D fighter.
      I’ll have to investigate eventually!

    • No word on getting a Cross Buy version?
Buy the PS3 edition and get a copy of the vita?

    • This looks to be really good!! I wish I had a Vita to check this out!!

    • *goes back to SFxT*

    • Yay, more Vita games, thanks.

    • YES YES YES CAN’T WAIT FOR THIS!!! I CAN’T WAIT TO KICK U KNOW WHAT WITH SARAH BRYANT ON THE GO. ANY CHANCE AT MORE OUTFITS FOR THE VF CHARACTERS IF U ARE ABLE TO ANSWER?

    • Price?

    • I heard on the European PS Blog u said u answered someone’s question about the download size, that u did not know yet at this time, PLEASE TELL US ONCE U KNOW! I plan on downloading this rather than buying a retail copy. THANKS!

    • sorry to bother u once again, a bit off topic, about the patch that is coming soon, with the revealing of able to unlock the legend outfits for Tina, Christie, and Lisa as well as Alpha 152 via online ranked matches, I already did over 300 matches, will I automatically unlock them once i download the patch?

    • For some reason I read this as the next Vita game for PS+…

    • Awesome. Definitely picking this up.

    • My next vita purchase! THANK YOU sooo much TECMO!!!!!!!!

    • Also can’t wait for Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus 2 on the Vita next month. Keep em coming Tecmo Koei.

    • Looking forward to this, haven’t played a Dead or Alive game since the PSone. Also looking forward to NGS2. Have yet to play NG2 in any form.

    • Meant NGS2+

    • Awesome already having the ps3 version of the game and having extreme fun playing it .
and i guess this vita version will be a must buy for me .
btw i like the new tutorial mode it will make me a better fighter for sure .

    • Yes! Cross Play! Thats how its done! Finally a third party gets it right!

    • @17: Street Fighter x Tekken has it as well. As far as fighting games go. Wish they all had it.

    • Been looking for another figher for my vita, might check this one out. Always good to see some vita love. Thanks!

    • @Elvick_Yeah I was kinda disappointed it wasn’t in Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3.

    • Mortal Kombat seriously dropped the ball on the vita version compared to how packed dead or alive 5+ is

“hold your PS Vita vertically to interact with characters from a close-up first person perspective”-incredibly awesome! lol can’t wait. a day after my birthday too! i know what im asking for

    • Can we see some ps vita version screenshots?

    • Hopefully it will be good.

    • Ooo that vertical feature…mmmmmm

    • This is great and everything (I’ll probably get my PS VITA when this comes out) but off topic Will I be able to purchase Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the white Witch via PSN?

      Thanks!!

    • So excited. DOA5 is a great title, and I can’t wait to play it on the VIta. I had dreamed of such a thing, and here it is! Glad my costumes and expensive DLC will transfer. I hope future costumes will be a little more affordable…

    • awesome :D

    • @25 – not on release day but it will be coming to PSN, I heard about a week or two after release

    • Too bad there’s no cross-buy thing going on for this game.

    • Can’t wait for this!!!!!

    • Wonder when we might see cross buy outside of first party titles. Not sure that I’d buy DOA5 since the PS Vita is already littered with fighters.

    • i wish we were getting a tekken tag 2 port instead of doa5.

    • Will definitely be buying. I also hope that there will eventually be a complete DLC costume pack at a reduced rate because it is very expensive to try and own them all.

    • @21 How did Mortal Kombat “seriously drop the ball”? They created an entirely new challenge tower just for the Vita and included all of the DLC from the console versions for free. The only thing it didn’t have was cross-platform play.

    • I greatly prefer 3D fighters over 2D ones, so I’m glad to see this coming to Vita! I’m more of a Soul Calibur fan, but will definitely be keeping my eye on this!

    • maybe ill check this game out but i still wish gundam game for psvita would relase over seas.

    • @KazeEternal

      BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA SFxT is garbage.

Anyway, I’m glad I stayed off of DOA5 until they released a more content-friendly version of it. Glad to pick it up and the DLC.

(I just really want to see Mila in more lovely costumes.)

    • Please release Dead or Alive 5 Plus Collector’s Edition.

    • ok why is it that this same game is being remade overand ove again just bc you make small ajustments for it doesnt make it a 3 4 5 game and is any better peole dont waste your time dont be sucked in with all the hype this game was great for ps2 but i would never remade it for ps3 or vita its been worn out like street fighter and mortal combat

    • btw this game also was made for psp with the exceptions of a few differences come on people lets be real

    • I can’t wait for this game.

    • Awesome! The sole reason I bought a 3DS XL was to play Dead Or Alive Dimensions…now I think it’s perfect time to switch back to Vita. Nice that all my PS3 DOA5 unlocks and dlc will be there waiting for me :D

    • No…noooo……NOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!

I bough thtis game on X360, because there wasn’t any reason to buy it on either system (and I prefer my x360 in just about every way…)

      But… but…

      All this cross play/save/dlc…

I might end up selling my x360 copy and pick up a PS3 version + the Vita one…

Congratulations Playstation… I actually have a reason to buy a PS3 game (other than the blu-ray vs multiple DVDDL issue)

    • @dark1725

I don’t think you even know what you are talking about. This game has evolved drastically since DOA 2 on the PS2. (or Dreamcast, if your like me)

Have you even played this game? or 2 for that matter?

DOA5 is the single best fighting game ever released. No stupid fire-balls, no ridiculous panda characters, no weapons. Just straight up fighting.

I will buy every release they make, because I support games that DONT SUCK.
But I’m sure you are going to go play some Call of Duty or something…

    • im gettin it cuz i dnt have anything else to play except black ops declassified

    • Man thats so amazing…what you guys are doing is an example of how devs should treat their costumers, fans…I’m a fan of DoA and DoA 5+ looks fantastic…The cross goods and cross save features are simply too great.Would be awesome to have a cross buy too but I ain’t demanding anything.I will buy for Vita without doubt…the PS3 version is amazing.

    • 44 ive played them all and still just a revised doa or should i say dead on arrival thats what i call it anymore same thing different day need to make a different game instead of the same crap over and over again its insanity

    • btw im not a cod guy i play AAA games only thanks for asking

    • not saying cod isnt a AAA game just saying its not my style

    • I hope this is a physical copy for the Vita. I don’t want this to magically end up digital like many games have been lately or at least the Vita versions.

I really like how they made touch screen fighting more interesting so you can view more of the fight from a different angle. That is really cool.
