I’ve picked up NiGHTS, Machinarium, and Warp so far, along with Foosball and the Sly 4 demo. Getting back into The Devil’s Playhouse right now (one of the few PS+ freebies that, to look at the Services List, is for keeps), but looks like I’ll be catching back up to wherever I left off on the PC (hadn’t even rightly met up with the girl, yet, but contacted her!).

@40 Andy10003 – That’s actually how I feel about Ratchet & Clank, despite my friend having been a fan. The PS Store is fickle about buying bundles when you own some of their content, so I gauge based on buying individually on discount.
- Ratchet and Clank Collection is $30, with the individual games at $15. No deal.
- Jak and Daxter Collection is $20, with the individual games at $8. So $2 + $8 + $8 = $18, so it’s at least cheaper.

Anyone up to recommending Hot Shots Golf? I’m not much for sports games, but I’m up for quirkiness and accessibility. I want to be able to just kick back with games I’m not proficient at, then crank up the difficulty if I’m getting into them. I have, but haven’t played, Super Swing Golf (Pangya) for the Wii; how’s it compare?

As for some others [of 13 for '13]…

- LBP Karting is ripe to end up in Plus again down the road, and I still have MNR from my first PS3 (Black Friday 2010!)
- I’m both elated and disappointed to see so many people getting The Unfinished Swan. Got it at launch, since I’ve come to dig these non-combative games. Journey, TUS, Papo & Yo to a much lesser extent…
- Got Shank 2 free from Plus some time ago!
- Jet Set Radio attracts me with its funky style, but repels me from testaments to its dated controls. I’ll just hold out ’til I (maybe) get a Vita.
- House of the Dead intrigues me, but not enough to dive in, especially without the light-gun that is PS Move.
- Psychonauts is best on PC, now.

And nice to see another Vita title rotating out. Hopefully its replacement will make up for the sour taste Foosball’s left with folks (it’s still downloading, personally). Maybe something Vita-particular, or another PSP title (Dead Head Fred, anyone?)

I don’t know if this is a known problem, but I just had a few things happen in the store: the MGS Rising demo would not download saying it is not available at this time, and then when I went to my cart everything disappeared.

It’s 12:36 a.m. where i’m at if that matters too.

I’ve restarted my system and will try again.

@148 TJF588

Actually, I would totally recommend Hot Shots Golf 5: Out of Bounds. it’s basically an updated version of prior HSG games, but in Feb 2012, they added PS Move support to it. if you have a Move wand, you can play just as though your actually swinging, though be warned, follow through with your swing is important unlike the Wii.

+ DaGimp13 on January 22nd, 2013 at 9:52 pm said:

it doesn’t have trophies though, so if you’re in it for the Trophy Hunting, you’ll be sorely disappointed…however, if its just to kick back and have some fun, maybe get a lil physical with it, it’ll defintely be up your alley.

+ TJF588 on January 22nd, 2013 at 9:53 pm said:

Shucks, Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds is one of those too many 2007 games released before trophies were a “thing”. However, unlike Assassin’s Creed, this is PS3-exclusive (just as, say, Folklore, Heavenly Sword, VALKYRIA CHRONICLES), so I’m saddened. Not that I wouldn’t buy it, still, but c’mon, Sony, wrangle somethin’ for us trophy whores!

After all, sometimes the ONLY reason I’ll pick a game up on PS3 instead of PC (namely, Steam) is for trophies. It’s why I got Machinarium tonight, it’s why Psychonauts is a no-brainer pass (at least/especially if you have a computer-compatible controller), and it’s why I’ve still deprived myself of Bioshock (which, if you get THAT into this minis/Classics/themes/avatars-sucking “Instant Game Collection”, I’ll be beaming).

Already grabbed LBP Karting. Looking forward to hopefully seeing some of you online there and in Dust 514. Don’t let the complicated nature of the neocom put you off. I’ve had only about a couple weeks headstart but I love it in spite of my lack of FPS skill. If you aren’t a fighter, give supportive roles a try. Or try your hand at piloting a dropship. Much fun to be had there. :)

As for the people not happy with Foosball for PS+ members… give it a try. You might like it. I’ve only been a PS+ member for a bit over a month, but the $50 has been well spent with the games I’ve gotten so far. This keeps up and I’ll have to upgrade my hard drive!

Morgan,

These discounts are amazing for Plus!! Please keep them coming. While I love the Instant Game Collection, I’m less worried about a refresh in them than getting discounts through the psn store. It makes the value of Plus more appealing to me due to it being a permanent purchase for me, if for some financial reason I can’t stay as a subscriber in the future. Also, is there any way we can bring back digital preorder benefits for Plus users? I’m already gravitating to purchasing digital purchases on any platform, but having a 4-5 dollar discount on a digital psn preorder would certainly encourage me more to get it on PSN.

Thanks!

I believe you can just install either one first but you have install both anyway so it shouldn’t really matter. Though I would just start with the bigger file. The bigger file is probably the game while the smaller one is probably update/patch.

Hey Morgan, just passing a long a thank you for your response.

And yes, I am on the Square-Enix boards as well as sending e-mails to their support line, but all I get are cookie cutter responses. Specifically, I got one twice that says Square-Enix of Japan hasn’t announced a release date for that title yet. Does their Japanese office really control what happens in the North American territory? Especially for a game that came out 5 years ago?

So yeah, I don’t even think my messages are even being read. That’s why I was hoping if someone from Sony asked about the games, and mentioned that you guys are getting asked about it too, it might actually get a response.

Thanks again!

I have been waiting for Ni No Kuni for a very long time… pre-ordered then came the DEMO… after playing it I cancelled my pre-order and definitely will be waiting for a price drop. I have no doubt that a fantastic gem is hiding behind the demo but man did it turn me off… I hate the impression it left on me because I’m a huge fan of Ghibli AND level-5 but not enough to blindly throw out 60$!

This out of the way… got 4 other demos I’m about to try with excitement! And Warp to buy.

Bought Ni No Kuni.. Been waiting forever. Thanks so much for making it a Day 1 Download. Also picked up Unfinished Swan and Machinarium. Good Deals, could we possibly see sales a little more often?

@151 You can delete and reinstall the store by pressing triangle. It should help, but sometimes its a server issue.

it should be on the Store; it may have just missed the cut on the blog post here.

Just leave the Sly 4 demo off the blog post, since it won’t be a Plus only offer next week. Besides, Dead Space 3 demo would cause Sly 4 demo to be overlooked.

@159, I agree highly. Foosball might not be it for everyone, Darksiders might not be it for everyone but there will be a game that you will love. Even without a few great free games the discounts are still amazing. I’ve been a PSN+ member since PSN+ was created and it’s well worth it.

I do have to echo the consistent update remarks. If Sony really wants digital to be a great thing we need early updates. I went out at 3 PM when I left for work to get Ni No Kuni but I could of gotten it at 10 AM and would of most likely if I didn’t have to go to work. 8:30 PM is a bad time to do a update. Not to mention if one day it’s 3 PM and one day it’s 8:30 PM when do I know when to look for the update. I know most of the time I just end up looking for them on Wednesday to save the trouble.

@177 Read @165 comment. One could be the base game, the other is an addon or update. No idea which is which or what they really are

I want to buy Shank 2 but it wont let me because it was already given as a free Plus game. Is there some way to circumvent this and actually pay to own it?

Dear PSN crew,

Thanks for the free PSM games.

Would it be possible to share any info on why the 2 track packs for MotorStorm Pacific Rift are gone? Someone in Europe told me the Euro PSN store still has them. I would love for them to return. They were originally $9.99 each, and I’d love to see them come back for free or $9.99 for both packs.

On the NA Shop listing for MS: PR, there is a video called “Environments and Courses” and it’s sitting in the “add-on” section with all the Livery DLC. Someone rearranged it because it used to be sitting at the top of the list of “Add-ons”, now it’s sitting at the bottom. Obviously it isn’t an add-on and should be properly sorted. But the actual two DLC track packs are gone.

I’ve read that the online servers for MotorStorm PR are gone. I started up my copy and couldn’t access the DLC packs from the menu.

Anyway, I know it’s an old game and I know the servers for it are offline, but couldn’t you bring the 2 track packs back? They are still playable offline, and PR supports four player splitscreen.

Thanks for reading this, and a happy New Year to everyone there!

@ BlueBl1zzard: I know, right? Every game offered free should still have an option to buy, the only downside to this is they’ll still have morons buying it when they are trying to download the free copy of the game. So, once again we have to suffer because of the idiots out there.

Just install any two file. Well I put the system to auto shut down, the system auto install the two files for me, I saw the system install the 5GB then the 16GB. The total size is 22GB.

Playing it now!

I had issues with the new store last night.

I put 9 items in my cart. Went to checkout and couldn’t edit my cart. Was no option to delete anything from my cart.

I then logged out of the store and back in, hoping it would empty my cart, like it did in the past.

But the items were still in my cart and couldn’t be removed.

So I just bought all items to get out of the store cart. Which i don’t mind, was from the 13 for 13 sale and a few demos and ps plus game. But still, no option to delete my cart? A glitch?

Anyways PS plus is awesome, been a member since day 1, have over 250 games on my harddrive, 10% of them i haven’t played yet. People complaining about plus need to see the “big” picture. Never cancel your account, and you will have your games forever…..

Also thanks sony, adding plus to vita, made me buy a vita,(love it) and your music unlimited 12$ sale made me buy 2 16gb sony walkmans! Keep up the good work! And have a sale to have plus members try video unlimited, maybe i’ll replace my vizio for a bravia! XD>
