Yes, sometimes online trophies are fun, and you can meet people you wouldn’t have otherwise. Trophies that rely on chance or an unbalanced match in your favor are not fun though. They’re certainly not a challenge simply because they’re annoying.

The online trophy for Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 is probably the hardest one out there. It doesn’t rely on getting an unbalanced match-up though, or getting a rare opportunity for a stupidly specific kill. You just have to play well with your partner.

Who said anything about playing a game for trophies? No one. I’m still getting The Last of Us even though I know they’ll add in ridiculous MP trophies. Padding trophies? No one said anything remotely close to that.

When you’re only somewhat interested in a game though, irritating trophies are definitely a turn off. I’m going to go for 100%. I always have, even before trophies came around. I like to complete every challenge in games like Ninja Gaiden. With trophies you simply get a record of it on your profile.

You don’t like doing that? Too bad. A lot of us do. If we have fun getting the most out of the game in that way, then that IS the right way to play the game.

Besides playing a game that determine how well your teammates play is a challenge to some people. You have to learn to find teammates, make friends, strategize and plan into achieving these more difficult trophies.

PayDay: The Heist has some extremely tough trophies to achieve but there are fun when everything goes well and play as a team. Easy Street is a killer and its taking sometime to achieve but its possible.
