  • I wish you guys would give us both a Vita and PS3 game every week so that no one gets left out.

  • Glad to see we are getting a full game for free! :)

Question: There have been rumors for quite some time now in regards to a Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath sale towards the end of January (meaning it would have to be this week), with a discount for PS+ members. Is this true?

  • Morgan,

If you’d be so kind, please convey a “thank you” for me to the PS Store team. I think I brought it to the attention of the right people in the last Gran Turismo post and within the week they fixed the Gran Turismo 5 DLC on the store, which had a couple missing items and you (we) couldn’t buy more paint packs. It’s all sorted now and I just bought some more paint. Thanks Guys !!!

  • Wow, PS3 users are such whiny bastards. They’ve gotten four games in January and they’re complaining about Vita users finally getting some love?! Seriously!? When we signed up for PS+, no where did it say that we’d be getting a free PS3 gave every damn week.

In fact, it makes more sense from a business standpoint to start offering more PS-only IGCs to entice the PS3-only users that have been on the fence about getting a Vita.

BTW, if you visited the PS+ forums, you would have seen that Morgan told us it’d be a Vita-only game this week and you would have had a whole week to let it sink in.

  • @ sab_krit Beacuse like I said there is still something there. I already said there was nothing for me either this week, but I’ll still acknowledge that it’s a pretty good update for those who are interested.

  • Why a 0 from me?

Like most of the updates to Plus since the IGC change there is NOTHING for me.

For me, the value of this weeks update is 0. Why would i rate it any higher than it’s value to me?

I recognize that other people will like it more and usually say as much in these updates.

But for me, coming in here week after week and finding nothing but old games I’ve owned a long time, recycled sales and plus content I got months or even years ago, etc… how is any of that worth above a 0? Especially when you compare to the ‘quality’ of the EU sales and ‘free’ games, but even without that added filter, I get no value in this update.

If I’m voting “nothing for me” almost every week, either because I own the content or have zero interest in it, why would I rate the post above a 0? Should i thank them for nothing? There are weeks I would rate it a 1 or 2 etc.. but not usually, not when I have 0 to get out of it.

  • @295BlueBl1zzard

With all due respect, and thank you for pointing out the 3days grace period, although I did read that. I’m taking into account that when my first year of plus was coming to a close, Sony sent me an email warning of this and offering a deal if current plus users continued… It’s clearly not beyond their scope of ability to maintain a similar model when considering that the majority of subscribers like myself, had their plus subscriptions due to end on December 25-30th after the deal offered via email, and all bonus time allotted via’ the network outtage incident that took place the year prior(because of anonymous).

Regardless of how you look at it, It’s something that could have been considered.

  • @kedaro,

The price you paid is the price you paid for a term in length of service. Them having a deal days or hours after you purchased is unfortunate, however the Sony store does not have a price guarantee. I can see you being upset if they offered a price match/guarantee on purchases, but every transaction says no refunds.

If you were to purchase gas at a station in the morning at $3.50/gallon, when you drive by the next day, do you go in and ask for a refund because gas is now $3.45/gallon?

    @Morgan,

What I mean to say with adding “weekly” to the thread title, you will let those know who only thread title surf. On second thought it might not be needed as the number of posts about “is this it?” seemed to have died along with the voting comments set to privacy.

  • Sweet, sweet Vita gaming. Bring the punishment, love how brutally challenging Ninja Gaiden is.

  • @286 Well I can’t speak for everyone who has said it but I for one was not making a threat nor did I demand anything. No, simply just saying that I’m not happy with the service and if I feel that way…why would I continue subscribing?

And yes I do think Europe have the better updates, honestly every month EU PS+ gets some pretty awesome games like Vanquish, Arkham City, and now Sleeping Dogs. Meanwhile we get something like NFL Blitz “most of the time”.

  • Yay! thanks PS+ :3

  • The ps vita is a traveling companion at best , a kids toy . With the lack of support by game companies and sony you have to think the price the lack of memory , the bugs , for a few bucks more you could purchase a white ps3 500 gb and a year of plus for free , Plus a huge library of games . Do the math it doesnt add up !
In this you should be a smart consumer and really get your bang for your buck !
As for me id let the damn thing die ! I joined plus for PS3 content not for a vita !
And really the majority of ps plus users are unhappy you know this so stop jerking us around and
get jiggy with it people !
I am american born and here to stay! And those of you that tell us to switch over can go to hell !
Im here here for the long haul. I have been here from the begining and im not giving up the fight!

Till all are one ! The fight for equality is on!

  • Damn Morgan, you must be a Ninja to sneak this one up on us like this.

You haven’t heard from me for a while cause There weren’t much to say about the offerings in the past months (though I participated in the voting) but this one really caught me off guard. I bought it a long time ago but it’s still good to see a big launch title being added to PS+

Now give us P4G next month!

  • @306 TwinDad

You know that gas analogy does not apply, I’m not trolling don’t treat me as one, I’m stating that based on past experience with the company emailing me about a deal to continue my subscription, I was waiting for the possibility of this to happen again, which it did not… so on the last day possible I purchased another year of plus(because I’m a huge fan I enjoy it a lot), and now a month later there is a deal like this…?
Considering that I was an early adopter of plus, and I continued with the email deal offered to me, and I received all the free plus time offered in reprieve for the network outages, I’;m convinced that I’m part of a majority, a majority that was clearly ignored, this time around.

  • Nice.

Now if only we can get some games on the Vita. Here’s hoping E3 brings some good news.

  • Disappointing update for PS3 owners. I don’t have a VITA and don’t plan on getting one. I’m vision impaired and can’t even see the small screen.

  • @ BlueBl1zzard
‘that it’s a pretty good update for those who are interested.’

See exactly, maybe that guy is not really interested with this update and give a zero.

  • @boomstickbhg I was asking, what makes something have a score of 0, as opposed to a 1 for example? The way I look at it, me not liking something and that something actually being bad are two different things. Like if I were to play a game, and it “wasn’t for me” I wouldn’t tell a friend “Don’t get it, it’s a 0 out of 5,” simply because it “wasn’t for me.” I’ll look at the good as well as the bad. Either way you’re free to rate it what you wish, I was just wondering if you really thought the update was horrible or you just didn’t like it (or both lol).

  • I just wanted to say to everyone complaining about not getting Sleeping Dogs for free. You all do know that you can buy games! That’s what keeps game companies making new games. There have been alot of game companies laying off and going bankrupt {THQ} . Just buy the game if you want it that bad. You pay $50 a year for this service. Every one of you gets that value out of it and if not just go on ahead and stop gaming.

  • ps vita rules!!!

  • ninja gaiden, great! Now yes a good title … ^ ^

  • Please reply to this comment. I love my playstation plus, I mean free games right? Yet I cant figure how the EUROPE region gets better games per month against what we get? Please a little light to the rationale on how they get bigger and better games and yet US never get those kind of games, SLEEPING DOGS alone is a showing how pathetic were getting each month. PLEASE REPLY MORGAN !!!

  • I’m confused. Why do so many people think they are entitled to get a free PS3 game every week?

Did you barely join yesterday and not know how Playstation Plus works? I want to see where some of you are getting this info.

  • Just to add to the little argument going on………People who compare North American Plus to European Plus with the argument that we should be getting the same stuff at the same time…..I believe have no understanding of how totally different the two markets actually are.

Contrary to what I see people say on here all the time, America is by FAR AND AWAY the largest console video game software market. A hypothetical low selling game in say….France is like 3 thousand copies, compared to low selling in America being like 150 thousand copies sold. EVen a low seller in America is making money, not so in Europe where it’s easier for a Publisher to give away new games in Sony’s (not their) Plus promotion.

Remember the only way Sony can make money on Plus giving away about 25 games for $50 a year is if these publishers/developers are taking about $1 per download from Sony. It can’t be much more. In the American market even a low selling newer game could be taking a hit on Plus. In Europe developers may even be making MORE money in some cases at $1 per download.

    That’s my take.

  • Oh also Morgan,

I speak for all of us BIG SONY FANS, “MORE VITA GAMES PLEASE!!!!!” ^ . ^

Maybe even give us ONE MORE VITA GAME per month and ONE LESS PS3 game for month?

That would make all of us so happy.

  • @308 I feel you dude how do we keep getting arcade games and EUROPE gets a better freaking games? WE DEMAND A CLARIFICATION, wont be renewing if this keeps up!

  • some love for vita this week, that’s what I’m talking about, because there are some players like me, who doesn’t have a ps3, thanks for the update guys, and keep working on both consoles

  • @ Darth-Krayt,

I don’t know if you are new here, but most people are not very bright here and will just say you are making excuses for Sony. They really believe SCEA is out to rip them off.

  • On a whole I think the updates have been horrible in recent months, in no small part because I don’t like it of course.

Pre IGC, I use to tell all my friends to sign up for Plus as well as strangers, etc…

Since the IGC, I’ve been telling anyone who will listen not to sign up unless they want really old and cheap games that you have to download, and in Canada we have some big restrictions/costs on bandwidth use.

I don’t want to waste what little bandwidth I have without having to pay insane overage fees, on dling full games I could buy for 5-10 dollars up the road. Especially since many are games I consider ‘bad’, but even the good are dirt cheap on disc. I would risk overage/fees if the quality of the games we get to rent was higher (like the EU region has gotten for example).

As for the voting: If I see 0 value in something, how can I rate it more than a 0? I don’t know anyone in person who would benefit from this update Even my post saying Madden sale is good was just to try and be nice, the NFL season is basically over, most people who love Madden would have bought it long ago or are playing a previous version.

  • Gawd… most complaints are ridiculus… Morgan should be speechless reading those. Seriously?, people without a Vita complaining they don’t get a free game? what about people who have JUST a Vita? most weeks it’s them not getting it.

Come on, I’ve been a member since october 2012 and it seems like I have a better grasp of how plus works than most whinners here, I haven’t even seen a decrease on the quantity or quality of the PS3 IGC since the launch of Vita+, things just got even more amazing for plus members with both consoles.

I for one applaud the PS team for the amazing service, it’s just the best deal I’ve seen in 22 years of gaming: $4 a month for 5 or 6 games? even if you don’t care about half of them it’s a steal, yet most people complains? just incredible…

  • @hexsneaker,

Don’t let the door hit you on the way out when you don’t renew!! (unless you are like pretty much the majority that says that even though they have no intention of doing so.)

NO ONE owes you any thing, no clarification, nothing. Don’t like it? Don’t renew.

    ^ . ^

  • @ WAR1965 lol what? Please let me know how many games the PS3 had after it’s first year and do the same for vita. Not sure where you’re seeing “a lack of support”. In the coming weeks/months we got games like Teraaway, Killzone, Soul Sacrifice, Phantasy Star Online 2, Ratchet and Clank, Sly Cooper, Ninja Gaiden Sigma+2, Dead or Alive, not to mention who knows how many PSN only games.

    @ jesse4300 I know right?

@Darth-Krayt Thanks for the info, that’s good to know. Unfortunately however I feel your point will be largely ignored especially if we don’t get Sleeping Dogs next week lol.

  • @276 Kedaro

“I however had continued defending it, and enjoying it (The die-hard Sony/PSplus fan that I am), and only now do I feel a little like my nose is out of joint about something, and that’s the 3month bonus deal, not applying to current members who renewed recently. I think it’s wrong.”

dude…think about what your saying…,you’re telling us that when a corporation like, let’s say WalMart, puts out a flyer advertising the Friday prices on a Wednesday, you expect them to refund you the difference because you bought it that Sunday before? thats not how it works. when you have an issue, contact customer service for your refund, but if you do that your Plus would be canceled then…minus the bonus 3 months too.

  • @ BlueBl1zzard,

You have a lot more patience than I could have, actually trying to engage SOME of these people with rational dialogue against their whimsical comments. :)

  • I will speak truthfully to the Sony team.
Its sad how BIG of a difference there is between the content EU gets and what US gets.
Most of us don’t even HAVE Vita while EU enjoys Sleeping Dogs?
Sony America shouldn’t even be allowing us to glance over at EU.

  • As for Sleeping Dogs.

i already own it, had it for months, got the steelbook case and all.

But if that game showed up in the NA region not just the EU, I’d have no choice but to rate that week a 5/5 even though there would be nothing for me.

That’s the difference between quality and quantity, that’s the problem with the current Plus model.

Just because we are allowed to play an old, downloadable, usually cheap game, we should be grateful?

We’re getting nothing for free, it’s a paid service and the quality of the games is shameful when compared to the hype (or to the EU, but even without that) and Mr Haro consistantly over using words like great, and at times flat out lying about coming sales.

Plus, I miss when we had more sales on add-ons and all the other things Plus used to be before becomming a glorified old game rental service.

  • @ boomstickbhg Well sorry then, it seems like Plus (or at least the IGC) may not be for you. I hope you enjoy the other parts of the service then.

  • Vita owners got a great deal. I only have a PS3 so nothing for me this week, but let’s face it: we can’t expect blockbuster games every week. Keep it up, guys.

  • Not really a plus topic but last night I was discussing demos with my wife and came up with an awesome idea. I have a very small niche of games ill play and more importantly spend 60 bucks on. Now its hard to know which demos are good and which arent. How about if each demo came with 1 trophy “Complete the demo” trophy. I know I would make it a habit to try out as many demos as possible just to collect the trophies and perhaps ill find new games that way. I never would of found Infamous if they didn’t give it to us for free after the psn outage.

  • @331

Where I live, if you buy something at Walmart and it goes on sale the next week (or even a couple weeks later) they ALWAYS refund you the difference.

Same as futureshop, home depot, chapters, etc… any major retailer I’ve ever visited.

  • I don’t pay $50 a year for vita games… sorry sony but ur about to lose a paying customer.

  • ……………….i’m a little hesitant to Ninja Gaiden games (obviously in regards to how hard they can get..1 and 2 destroyed me on xbox and 360)

i’ll see how it all goes with sigma +….

good update though, i’m still working on Darksiders

  • @broomstickbhg

I couldn’t agree more. This isn’t a free service. We did pay and the games are not ours forever. So what we DO expect is not having cheap arcade-ish games nobody knew existed until they became free. I’d much rather take two AAA titles a month that makes me happy for this 1 year rental than seeing 10 cheap PSN games.
I apologize if I’m offending Morgan or anyone else. But I do feel its not right giving us random stuff and expecting us to gulp it down with a smile on our faces while we watch EU dancing around a bon-fire.

  • Man, all this really makes me wish for is that Tecmo would get off their asses and release a trophy patch for PS3’s NG Sigma. The game is fantastic and all, but it, much like MGS4 was, is just screaming for trophies of all different sorts. There’s really no excuse not to do it at this point, the trophies have been freaking MADE, there they are, just patch them in!!But no, I guess cranking out those DoA 5 outfit packs weekly is far more important to them at this point. What that says about the state of the modern gaming industry could fill a novel.

Anyway, I was hoping for another utterly fantastic sale like last week to be a more common thing, but oh well.If it became at least a monthly thing it would be a huge improvement and you would get a lot more sales.

Darksiders for free and three more games at 75% off, yeah I’d say this was a great month for Plus.Keep it up guys!!

  • @302
PS+ started before VITA, i expect PSN games and retail games free over Vita games. Just my thought process. May cancel after this year (I enjoy the service, just ever since vita was release [which is overpriced in itself .. $300 for handheld.. BAHAHA] the service has turned to complete s$it)

  • @mnstrings – Did you actually post this:

‘Maybe even give us ONE MORE VITA GAME per month and ONE LESS PS3 game for month?

That would make all of us so happy.”

You DO NOT SPEAK FOR THE REST OF US. One less PS3 game would cause so much more griping here. This would NOT make ME happy, quite the opposite.

  • @BlueBl1zzard

Thanks for talking about this like a normal person. I hang onto Plus right now because I’ve become too dependant on Cloud saves and my PS3 is a couple years old, never know when it might die (my systems always last longer than those of friends, but even so).

I’ve been a subscriber since, if not day one, very soon after, adjusting to the IGC has been hard to say the least.

Not to mention all the things like Qore that just dissapeared without any warning, the store missing content, download lists missing content since the store switch… it’s hard to be happy with sony lately, when it comes to Plus/the store.

Other than that I love the PS3, the library of games, the exclusives, the blu ray, hard drive size and swapping, etc… lots of great things from Sony in my house/gaming setup

Hope you continue to enjoy your Plus and have good gaming!

  • @328
The point your missing is PS+ started way before the vita was even released. Vita games should and NEVER should be the main focus.
Handheld consoles barely last over 2 years for that matter.

  • @ GT-420,

Just trying to make some of these simpletons angry. I don’t care one way or the other honestly though, I love both systems.

  • Decent hopefully next month we can get some better games in the PS3 collection. And hopefully the news of Dead Space joining the IGC is not true. I would rather have Dead Space 2.
