  • WHOA thank you this is a great update! I’ve been wanting NG Sigma Plus but I never expected it to become a free title. That’s the best addition since I joined Plus.

  • @ boomstickbhg getting “old, cheap, downloadable” games doesn’t make them bad. Games people having been asking about that EU gets free (like Red Dead Redemption and Vanquish) can be seen as “old” and “cheap”(in terms of price). For me, I look at the IGC as giving me games I may not have cared to buy before. Yes, I do agree with you however that this is somewhat of a rental service so I would like them to add the option of being able to buy “free” games. And more sales too, especially vita ones : )

@nolo451 Yep it quite a bit to make me mad. Actually seeing there are some sensible people on here gives me hope that people can be reasoned with.

  • @Kedaro/312

I never said you were trolling, if you think I did, then sorry. But what I stated was you, 30 days ago purchased PS+ for whatever price was offered. The terms for that was 1 year. If you did not want one year at that price you didn’t have to purchase it. I know it stings to see the new offer and feel a bit slighted, I get that, but they do not owe you or me or any other person that had day one PS+ user free months because of an offer that happened later.

It is not the best analogy, i admit. The matter comes down to this is a manufacturer rebate, you get an extra benefit based on your purchase during the promotion. People have said it before, but the only one really that can help you out is SCEA. Contact them and voice your concern maybe they are willing to help you out.

  • Was hoping for a Bayonetta discount, but Ninja Gaiden free will work, too! And given that I often only have time to play games during my commute, I might actually get to play it. Thanks, Morgan.

But please work on a Bayonetta discount down the road, okay?

  • So no PS+ ps3 game free?. Now I can understand what all those PS Vita users were feeling. lol

  • @ boomstickbhg yea it’s nice to see you can still have an argument/discussion with someone in a civilized way.

  • Thanks for Ninja Gaiden. Very thankful for the Vita offerings to get me started on the system (original offers and this). Although the discounts look good, I just have too many other PS+ games and retail games in my backlog.

  • Ok, I have to be honest…I’m livid!!!

    1. I did not purchase a ps+ membership for anything VITA related and I suspect the majority of the PLUS user base didn’t either.

    2. I don’t own a VITA nor do I ever have any intention of ever purchasing one…EVER!!!

    3. The game last week you guys offered was GARBAGE!!! Foosball???? Seriously????

    4. Honestly, with the exception of Darksiders, which I already own, and a few others, the games have been total duds!!!

    5. Are you really going to shaft your PS3 user base, which quite frankly is your CORE user base, for VITA???

6 How are you going to add a new game for VITA users only while leaving your bread and butter PS3 base stranded with nothing???

    CONTINUED BELOW

  • 7. I dont remotely care about the VITA or it’s fans, I’m strictly a PS3 plus member. If your intention is to juggle between the VITA and PS3, whereas some weeks the PS3 gets nothing for the sake of the VITA, then I would almost rather become a GAMEFLY member!!!

    8. I have YET to see one RPG offered and that is a TOTAL disapointment!!!

    9. Lastly, if you are going to add VITA games on PLUS, in the future I would hope that it is in conjunction with a PS3 game, as well. In other words, there should have ALSO been a PS3 game offered this week, and EVERY week here after, irregardless of what you do or offer for the VITA.

I sincerely hope you read this Morgan, and take this constructive criticism back to the PLUS TEAM because I’m truly disgusted.

  • its a kids system period not worth my money a system composed of ports .
yes there are a few games that attract but im an old head and i aint playing on a little ass screen and not at that ridiculous price for that id ratner buy a refurbished 320 gb ps3 w/3 games for 269.00 @ gamestop thanks but no thanks i value my dollar .

  • I would also prefer if we had the option to buy a Plus rental game.

While I can think of only one Plus game I wish I was allowed to buy on the store (Just Cause 2, wasn’t expecting to enjoy that so much), I’ve seen a lot of people commenting when games that were free in Plus go on sale but they aren’t allowed to buy them.

Adding some flexabilty or variety to Plus would be nice. Might be a small thing, being able to buy a game when it’s on sale instead of being forever linked to the ‘rental’ version, but it would certainly make a bunch of people happy, or at least prevent them being upset during future sales.

Same thing with having more add-on sales (or sales in general). Or have fewer sales, but when there are sales have them 25-50% off instead of the more common lately 10%.

While personally I don’t need them I also get why people want avatar and theme deals/free more like they were under the original Plus scheme.

  • On a side note, and somewhat unrelated, but not really…

Why in the hell is there no gifting option in the PlayStation Store, I know for a FACT it’s easy to implement, not even assuming here… And it’s clear the revenue it could bring in would be ridiculously awesome.

Not to mention we want to be able to gift our friends digital content without having to start seperate giveaway accounts. PLEASE IMPLEMENT A GIFTING OPTION, and a CLAN package deal, where a clan can get multiple copies of a game at a discounted price. Other services offer these things, and I mean more than one so it can’t be a legal issue.

  • We aren’t gonna get Sleeping Dogs. You guys were so happy with a 3-4 year old game. Nothing for me this week or last week….Recycled Sega sales and I hate puzzle games. LBPK isn’t even worth $10…played the beta and it sucked. Already have the whole R&C and J@D trilogy and the ganes this week on sale aren’t wprth poo. Whatever no matter how much we complain there will be no parity. Whatever and the Vita is DOA anyways…Sony can’t beat the big N on the handhelds never has even come close. I feel bad for Vita owners but I said $250-$300 was way too expensive for me and guess I was right.

  • why can’t you give the ps3 verstion to for the people that don’t have a vita

  • Cool update. Was starting to wonder when the next Plus update would add Vita content. I used to own Sigma on PS3 but sold it off- but maybe this time replaying it on the Vita will re-ignite my will to defeat this game once and for all. Also, much better update than last week. Nobody bought plus to play digital foosball.
If I may make a suggestion for Vita’s PS+ service, I’m certain nobody would mind adding PSP games. There’s an amazing library of content there that many people have yet to experience! And though I own a PSP, I wouldn’t mind seeing some love for it on Vita’s plus. Other than that, I’d just like more RPGs. Thanks, loving the service.

  • @ hundreddollarsox At first I thought you were joking but I see you’re not. Well, a couple things to note.
    1) About 5 or so of your points are basically saying the same thing- You don’t want a vita. Ok we understand.
    2) Morgan said numerous times that what is offered for the vita in no way affects what PS3 owners get. If Vita PS Plus never existed, you still would not have gotten a free game his week.

@I’m sorry that you’re sorry that I have (and am quite happy with) my Vita.

  • Where is my PS3 free game? I paid 50 dollars on plus and I want, at least, one good game per week.

  • sorry the second part of my comment (#364) was addressed to KemetMan72-_

@ Kedaro +1 vote for the gifting idea

  • as an owner of a ps3 and a vita, i think this is a cool update, even if i dont care for ninja gaiden.

frankly, i think a lot of people here sound like spoiled babies only because you dont get all the newest and best games for free. ps plus is a service that offers a way to enlarge and open your gaming library. its not meant to be a replacement for you buying games.

in other words, if you bought a ps plus membership since last E3, this service has more than paid for itself.

    also, i have a question.

i am very interested in extending my plus membership and getting the three months, but the big question is, will the PS plus service extend onto the PS 4 ? Assuming the system is out in the next 15 months … i kid i kid.

i know you guys cant say anything so i guess will have to roll the dice on this one…

  • At first I didn’t think it had to be done after last week. Reading through all the absolutely disgusting vitriol on here I was clearly wrong…………

Listen I am going to speak for all of us “complainers”.

All we want is everything for Plus that Europe and Japan has.

Also we want every game ever released on PSN ever.

Also make every game that was released on disc put on PSN and then given to Plus members.

We also need the following PS1 games available and given to Plus members:

    ALL OF THEM

We also need the following PS2 games available for PSN members:

    ALL OF THEM

Also why can’t we play Nintendo and Microsoft games on our PS3? We want the following games for PS3:

    ALL OF THEM

Also we want the following PS3 games on Vita:

    ALL OF THEM

Why is Plus $50 a year? Seems like you would sell a lot of more PS3 if you gave away Plus.

Also why is the PS3 still $300? You would sell a lot more if it was $3. You would make it up in volume sales!! Also you would sell a lot of Playstation T-shirts and we would go to Playstation concerts if you just gave away the games.

If you don’t do all of these things I am buying a 360 and Sony will crumble as a result. HEED MY WORDS!!!

  • great update

  • WAR1965,

You are so weird, you remind me of those people that are so afraid of any little change.

You don’t think you would enjoy the Vita? Your loss. Same can be said about the PS3, some kids system. Not that I believe that, just saying that’s how dumb your comment sounds. Last I checked a ton of kids play PS3, does that make it a kids toy too?

You admit you are older, how about you act like it?

  • PlayStation PLUS is AWESOME!!!!!….its absolutely worth every dollar

  • Wait, no free PSN game at all? Nothing? wow. Please tell me this isn’t the February content

  • @356 //

If you are angry with PS+, easy! get a Xbox 360!!! and enjoy his offers … NOTHING!!

  • @Goldenratio13

Buy a calendar for gods sake………

  • @ghostwize

I’ll buy a calendar when you stop posting the same garbage week after week. ALL IF THEM, ALL OF THEM!! Dude i think we get it by now. Your ridiculous post doesn’t need to be seen week after week.

  • Ninja Gaiden? Score. This is my favorite update of the month. I hope the game isn’t TOO large, because I am not deleting Final Fantasy Tactics and Persona 3 from my memory card. Might be time to upgrade to a new card…

Hey Sony, please lower the prices on Vita Memory Cards or give some kind of deal to make the high prices more appealing. Maybe, say, give $20 in PSN cash if you buy that 32 Gig card? $100 is a lot to pay for 32 gigs for any form of hardware.

  • paying 50$ and you hope a game per week, guys are you serious?, thats impossible XD, if you dont want ps plus stop paying because that is not the way this works

  • @+ BlueBl1zzard….Whether you’re happy or unhappy with your vita, isnt my concern, I’m absolutely indifferent.

My post is valid and would imagine that a large percentage, of the PS3 PLUS user base, either agree or can relate.

I dont own a VITA, I dont care about the VITA…..simple.

This isnt a ME vs. YOU or VITA vs PS3 debate. I’m apathetic to the system…period. If you like or love the VITA, that’s wonderful, however, I suspect my feelings will resonate with more than a few people, that have a PLUS membership as well as a PS3.

I didnt buy this membership to compete with VITA, or subliminally be coerced into purchasing one. There should have been a PS3 game offered this week, regardless of what was given out for the VITA…..PERIOD.

  • stop the hate, you know this service is a roulette sometimes you’ll get get the game you want sometimes not, get over it, because some complaining posts are simply ridiculous…

  • Wow ninja gaiden free for my Vita :) Now that is a service. If I can just say great work. Even if not all games in plus for vita are my type of games still you gave away much more than 50$ I payed for 1 year of plus. If this keeps on in the future with giving 1 Vita game a month I am definitely getting extension on my plus subscription when it comes to an end :)

    PS
To be honest I was hoping that this new vita free plus game would be dungeon hunter but maybe next free vita game could be it?

  • Ninja Gaiden :P

  • @hundreddollarsox

Although most complaints here have little merit, I’m going to agree with you on this one. P+ for vita shouldn’t cannibalize the PS3 offerings. I was somewhat surprised at this weeks offering, due to no PSN game included with the Vita offering. I don’t have any numbers to support this, but I’m guessing the PS3/Vita split among P+ subscribers is somewhere around 85/15, indicating that the Vita service should only be supplemental at this point. This is just my opinion, nothing more.

  • If we don’t get a good game in February for PS3, I will not be renewing, and I’ll be buying the EU PS+ instead. That, or I’ll jailbreak my old PS3 and download all of the European PS+ content from torrent sites. I don’t appreciate getting ripped off when people buying the European PS+ get 100x better content.

  • @hundreddollarsox & @Goldenratio13

Previous to the PS+ vita content, the release schedule was basically:

Week 1 – Week 3, playstation games, week 4 being a rest week with no game content. It could have a bonus title, but it was typically a sale or avatars/themes.

Adding VITA only changed the schedule in that today would have been nothing shown, however with VITA there is at least a game listed. So without VITA today would have been empty. Except for Christmas, there hasn’t been every week a game for PS3 week.

    @goldenratio13

What is listed is for the final week in January of PS+ content.

  • What about the Ps3?…….

  • YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

NGS+ in the Vita plus this week, glad to see some Vita love C:

Can’t wait to play this ^^

  • @TwinDad

That makes sense. Didn’t think about it that way. Thanks for the clarification.

  • Ninja Gaiden you say?

    I can dig it. =D

  • can you please start including the file size for the games next to the price….Thank You

  • I would like to put my two cents in on the plus package. I find that there is great value in plus. Week to week I may not see things that I like but then months like December and January come around and I am reminded of the great value of plus.

In December, I was able to purchase PS All Stars(not a plus sale but the price dropped 20 bucks so i returned the retail), MGS collection Vita, Hot Shots Vita( I play that about an hour a day great value but frustratingly hard as all get out), Journey, and Mafia 2 for under 100 dollars total. That value alone was the exact cost of a Year of plus right there. Around 50-60 dollars savings.

This month I got Darksiders, and Ninja Gaiden to play free from IGC. Bought LBP Karting, Machinarium, and Unfinished swan for a total savings there of 49 dollars. Almost another year of Plus paid for.

I hope there are many more sales like there have been recently on top of the IGC. I love the IGC and while I may not want every game I will try them and I have found gems I would not have otherwise played like Quantum Conundrum, Mutant Blobs, Retro City, Darksiders and more. The IGC is just Icing on the gigantic cake of value that is plus.

    Keep it up guys.

  • yes! thank you morgan for listining to us vita users,we needed this love ,=D

  • @TwinDad & Goldenratio13

I want to think you guys for giving me slight hope for the community again. Someone who knows the how the system works and someone who now understands the system after clarification. It’s almost physically painful to come here every week and see people complaining especially about something like this. If they had any idea how PS+ works aside from “No free game this week? dkafkjndsfnfeklsnfjknS!!!!!1111” reading the comments might actually have meaning. They really just need to put it in gigantic bold letters stated PSV+ doesn’t effect PS3+ in any way shape or form. It’s pretty much always been 3 free games a month and sales on the lacking week with a rare fourth game sometimes. This is just the vita getting it’s last free game of the month as PS3 has already gotten all of theirs. The lack of brain functionality here is mind bending.

  • Oh also, whats up with the non + people threatening to cancel the service they don’t have?

  • @goldenratio13

“P+ for vita shouldn’t cannibalize the PS3 offerings” – very well put.

    @twindad

Logically that makes sense but I suppose we’ll have to wait and see how that actually plays out in the future with the vita and ps3.

  • Thank you Morgan for the best plus post ever!!!
I basically cannot believe my eyes when I saw the post that finally vita got a full release title and it’s Ninja Garden no less

Please relay to the everyone that at least me and many others who loves this game really approves this update
Guess now I can say proudly I’m not regretting having US psplus rather than EU

Keep up the love for vita for upcoming months please

  • uhhhh what about a free game for the people that DONT own a vita which would be ALOT

  • This is what i’ve been talking about. Foosball was an absolute slap in the face, but then you guys go an totally redeem yourself!

Achievement Unlocked: weary subscriber won back over!

  • @twindadTXCScorpion

Not sure if you’re snide comment @393 was directed towards me, but I wonder. Are assuming that I dont have a plus membership because that isnt the name I chose to post under?
Well, if that’s the case, you can ease your worried mind, I am a plus member.

Does that make you feel better?

I didn’t realise I was obligated to post comments under a specific name, or rather my mighty PLUS S/N

    *shrug*
