Garfield and Odie Minipack Out Now

Last week we released the Garfield and Odie Minipack. Since we’re such big fans of this lovable duet, we have put together this special wallpaper to celebrate the release of the new pack.

Garfield Wallpaper

The Garfield and Odie Minipack includes the two costumes pictured in the wallpaper, along with an assortment of Garfield and Odie stickers to help fulfill your creative needs.

Don’t miss this new wallpaper, and if you fancy adding a little comic humor to your corner of LittleBigPlanet, head on over to PlayStation Store and check out the Garfield and Odie Minipack.

Groundhog Day Costume Returns

This coming Saturday is Groundhog Day! To celebrate the occasion, the Groundhog Costume will be making an appearance on PlayStation Store.

Groundhog Day Costume

This cute costume is free and will be on the PlayStation Store for one week only. So don’t miss out on picking up this cheerful groundhog from the store before it scurries away for another year.

LittleBigPlanet 2

LittleBigPlanet 2: Mm Picks

This week in the LittleBigPlanet 2: Mm Picks we begin with My Robot Factory, which will see Sackboy running upside-down on Attract-O-Gel and teleporting around as he jumps into Worm Holes in a robotic platforming adventure.

If running up walls and teleporting all over the place isn’t enough for you, then perhaps you’ll like Simple Pleasures. This deceptively named level will see Sackboy in a race against time as he runs through the level and performs wall-jump after wall jump to reach the ever-elusive Scoreboard at the end of the level.

Finishing up our weekly selection of LittleBigPlanet 2: Mm Picks, we have Rollerball. This heart-pounding race level will see you taking the form of a ball, as you race against your friends, or some rather clever AI, to see who the fastest Rollerball racer is.

LittleBigPlanet Karting

A Very Tasty Thank You

We end this week with a rather lovely story about a visit paid by Tony_Too to our SCE Benelux studio, so he could give the team a cake as a thank you for having his Winter Epicness level reach out to 100,000 different racers on LittleBigPlanet Karting.

Karting Cake

I didn’t get to try the cake for myself but I’m reliably informed that it was both very well-received and delicious, so the folks in Benelux would like to say a big thank you for the gift.

If you haven’t already, be sure to hop on to LittleBigPlanet Karting and check out Winter Epicness for yourself.

How about you though? Do you have any particular achievements in LittleBigPlanet that you are proud of? Are there any great milestones that you just cannot wait to reach yourself?

I just posted a level I have been working on all week!
Its Called “Saint Seiya Sanctuary” and it’s a race through the ancient greek zodiac houses!
I hope I can at least get the 10 racers to get the trophy, but also, if it is a hit, I’d like to keep making more anime-themed tracks!
Love this game, so many tools to imagine and make so many ideas! :D

Ever?

Did you just give up on bringing the costumes from LBP to Karting?

We know that you’re all eager to see the rest of Sackboy’s costumes in LittleBigPlanet Karting and we’re working to bring them to you as soon as we can, we should hopefully have a more solid update on when you can expect to see these costumes for soon. :)

Personally I’m just as keen as everybody else to see my Sackboy wearing his signature costume pieces in LittleBigPlanet Karting. ;)

Did you check out the finalists of our LittleBigPlanet Internship opportunity?

There’s some great levels there from some folks hoping to score a once in a lifetime chance to spend some time at Tarsier Studios with some of the team members that developed LittleBigPlanet PS Vita! :)

MM, do you guys know the online is broken in LBP Karting?

me and my friend have played a bit, but we’re lucky to finish 3 levels before having issues. First, whever we finish a level it sometimes kicks me back to my pod instead of letting me follow him to his, then sometimes when trying to start a a story level, it says it’s finding a match, then it says failed to find and kicks whoever’s not hosting back to their pod, then sometimes it won’t even let us join each other. It’ll say failed to join. We once tried to join each other for a half hour straight, just taking turns trying to join, and it failed every time.

Please guys, fix this asap. I really enjoy this game but it’s hard to play through it with me friend if we can never play more than an hour before the online goes wonky.

Can anybody confirm if any of these costumes are compatible with LBPK:
- Dr. Doom- Final Fantasy Pack- Journey- Gravity Rush Pack- Starhawk Pack?
I want to purchase these for LBPK, but I want to make sure they’re compatible.

@10 – Trooper_Zero, NONE of the costumes work yet for LBPK. They are working on it, and have been for some time (so don’t hold your breath). Whenever they do make the costumes available, it will likely be ALL of them thou, looking forward to that!

Whie I wish there was something more solid on the costumes being usable, I appreciate that you replied to the question.

I’ve been using the same main outfits in my LBP games since the first came out, playing Karting without those available… well I do think it’s a good game, but it doesn’t feel like LBP to me anymore… or at least, not “my” LBP adventure.

@16 the cross-controller works fine, the problem might be on your end. 1 inexpensive pack not functioning for you is barely any reason to boycott LBP.

Can you guys reveal the The Last Of Us pack, since we all already know it exists. For those that don’t, if you get one of the EU special editions of The Last Of Us, you get an Ellie costume or a Joel costume, depending on the one you get.

Did anyone else feel that LBPK just wasn’t a legitimate LittleBigPlanet. From the texture changes, to the limited customization, and the sloppy mistakes and shortcuts, it was all too obvious that it wasn’t a Media Molecule masterpiece. The 3d creation was innovative and I’d love to see it in LBP3, as well as Sackboy moving in a full range of motion(he looks so adorable and loopy when he moves). I think MM should stick to making LittleBigPlanet from now on, though Tarsier and Double Eleven did great.

Love little big planet karting but im very disappointed in the lack of support for this installment of LBP did you people just give up on it or what why is there no DLC no karts, costumes, or level packs. even when im playing online tracks you end up screaming WHY?? Because when you are done with a track you don’t go back to the search where you left off NO you are sent back to the start of the menu! what if im on page 15 of the cool levels and find one i want to play after im done i need to navigate back through 15 pages to get back where i was. COME ON IF YOU WANT PEOPLE TO BUY THIS GAME AND PLAY IT FIX IT & SUPPORT IT PLEASE. I don’t expect a response as i have already lost faith because of the lack of support.

I’m disappointed we keep getting promises of “soon” in regards to LBP:K costumes and yet………nothing but more hollow promises…

And of course you see hours go by and no one from MM or United Front Games have responded to these issues to even renew our faith in there company and concern for there fans who pay there wages. this is somthing you need to pay attention to or risk tarnishing the franchise. ” MM, Sony, United front Games” hello any one home.

+ djml9 on January 28th, 2013 at 4:54 pm said:

@23 MM has nothing to do with this game, they didn’t touch it. check the box, no MM logo anywhere. This disaster was all UFG and whoever it was that helped them. I wouldn’t be surprised if they sabotaged it as to not kill off MNR. We al know that if MM had made this, it would have been the best racing game ever created. and DLC wise, there’s hundreds of costumes and they have got to take of all the special lights and features from each one and then change their textures to the crappy ones they imported from MNR. (e.g. scarlet hair, look at it. its gorgeous in LBP2, but in LBPK its a lump of clay)

25

+ Caiman_6 on January 28th, 2013 at 6:04 pm said:

Please stop with the “soon” thing on LBPK, give us a date… It’s really annoying, the update was supposed to be release on january, it’s killing the game.

+ Elvick_ on January 29th, 2013 at 3:05 am said:

Not having costumes hardly ruins a game. :/ It sucks, but ultimately they’re just outfits. They don’t affect gameplay.

Just so you know…From the inside, the group of LBPKers I hang out with assume that UFG/Sony/Whoever has abandoned LBPK as a failure. The games almost been out for three months — a quarter of a year — and it’s still barely function online. Co-create, a feature repeatedly promised , was left on the cutting room for, and DLC costumes — something promised to be coming soon from day one — is nowhere to be found. You didn’t even update Team picks for almost a month and sometimes “Sack it to Me” doesn’t mention the game at all.

Some of my LBPK friends have given up on it and gone back to playing Modnation Racers. (The nearly three year old game this is a spritiual sequel to.) That’s how frustrated they are. If you guys want anyone to be playing thisgame in another three months time, you’ve got a lot of work to do. ItIt would be nice if there was more of an effort to make some sort of communication with the remaining fans.

It is very disappointing to feel like there is no support for LBPk but did none of you guys read the responses from Steven that were given at the beginning of this thread? It made me feel a lil better to see that things are in the works, problem is they can’t talk about it. MM keeps churning out new costumes for LBP2 and vita while UFG must be struggling to try and make everything look perfect for us. There are over 300 costumes by this point I’m guessing that they would have to completely remake. Does this hair flow the right way when you drive? Does this tail wag? etc. Not to mention once it’s done we wont even have to pay!!! I am disappointed that Jan. is almost over and we haven’t had another patch yet but I am reassured by the responses we’ve received in this thread. Maybe Feb. is our lucky month?

I bought LBP Karting at $59.99 and I don’t regret it at all. It’s one of my favorite games and I enjoy it very much.

I just hope you guys can add more levels to vote on in Multiplayer, transfer previous purchased materials and create a lot of DLC which I will buy right away. I believe some more online trophies would have increased traffic for us trophy hunters.

I am not the best creator but have a couple of levels you guys and gals might enjoy:

1. Mountain Barrel Pass

2. Mountain Barrel Night (same as Pass but at night and several environmental changes)

I have a few more and please don’t abandon this game, in time people will come and enjoy this treat.

Happy Karting Everyone!!!!
